Yet there in their own Lazarus Pit, the one in the cave not the giant one somewhere under the rest of Gotham, was a literal baby, looking just as surprised as he was. Of course that didn’t last, and its face scrunched up as it started to cry, which was his first hint that no, this was not in fact a hallucination.

rural minnesotan masculinity calls for a barebones always-ready utilitarianism and pride in making good long-term investments. i know a lot of rural minnesotan men due to working in a factory. so i feel like im in a good position to say for nearly all of them pickup trucks were bad investments for their lifestyle (driving 5-20 minutes to work and back--these people dont go to the cities). the gas mileage and diesel costs + not actually using your truck for what it was built for (and priced for!) is literally throwing away tens of thousands for the social status of a truck
