I used to be a big multi-shipper with Kakashi because I just wanted him to have some happiness. I especially liked him with Iruka because their dynamic is interesting and funny

Until I made the mistake of seeing what Gai/Kakashi fics were like.

It's not that I don't ship Kakashi with other characters still, but I cannot see Gai not being in love with Kakashi in any universe. The last time I tried to read a non KakaGai fic Gai made a cameo it felt so painful!!! T-T

Arthur Shappey Moment

A month or so ago I went to a party with a few close friends who naturally were drinking alcohol. Personally I don't drink but in my quest to discover a non-alcoholic and non-just-plain-old-water-beverage I find in the fridge door none other than many glorious cartons of...

pineapple juice!

So whilst enjoying this distinctly arthur-ish moment and pondering the dames and the horses I thought to myself, had I drank the Peach Schnapps in the fridge (yes there really was some) would I have also become a Gremlins gremlin? Maybe I'll develop an allergy to strawberries? Or suddenly become half-Australian! Who knows?

Alas perhaps my Arthurian transformation is limited only to the consumption of delicious tropical beverages. Either way... his really rather overbearingly joyous outlook on life did rub off on me that night so I have to thank John Finnemore for bringing back a memory of that truly delightful character.

A) sends you right back into the worst prison for mafia criminals you just escaped from, but even worse than before (enjoy being unconscious and tied up in your one room swimming pool for the next 10 years)

B) freezes you with flames burning so hot they turned into ice (< this isn't how the zero point breakthrough is explained in canon but it's the more dramatic explanation), fully knowing you were already frozen by similar ones for 8 years until, like, a month prior

C) burns you fucking alive and also undoes the last 10 years of your existence across all existing timelines. also he won't think anything about it afterwards ever (?????? like. it's not that he didn't deserve it, to be clear, but damn. 😭😭😭 middle schoolers when you just want to take over the world(s) for a bit, smdh 🙄)

D) is willing to become the boss of the most powerful mafia family in the world with a bloodstained history if it means getting the opportunity to get his hands on you and kill you beat the shit out of you. but you're lucky he likes you so you could stay on very thin ice long enough for both of you to clear things up

E) gangs up against you with all the current and future strongest people in the world, and then punches you so hard he makes you see the light of doing the right thing despite your centuries years old deep rooted hatred which singlehandedly kept you alive as an undead person

also reminder he did all that while he was only 14 years old. this is all things he did in less than a year.

this is tsuna's resume during the course of less than a year of proper mafia business.

The world doesn't care that they're exhausted. It doesn't care that their head is pounding and chest aches, it doesn't care how badly they're shaking or how much their legs want to give out.

Their teammates are hurt and sick and dying and they are the only one who can save them, they have a role to fill and a job to do, because no one else can.

And whatever is going on with them? A bit of first aid and however many pain meds are needed to function will have to suffice because "resting" is not conducive to keeping their friends alive

Oh and if one of their teammates is in critical condition? They have to be prepared to stay awake for days on end monitoring (or operating) on them to keep them alive.

They dont get to stop and rest

(At least not until they cant go any further and their body gives out. Delaying much needed rest by slamming back caffeine & pain meds until the job gets done has its consequences after all~)
