trust and hope
it's really odd what I'm going to tell you now but let's start
It's very clear how luffy trusts Zoro right?! because we have like thousand of moment of it but if I tell you that law is one of them who trust luffy most will you believe me ?!
let's start from whisky peak , do you remember the moment when some guy told luffy that Zoro was the reason why they were in this condition ? and what luffy did ? he fought with him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but in punk hazard when chopper told him that Law was murderer , he just ignored "Traffy " ?! nuh , but it wasn't some guy it was Chopper, his crewmate and what Luffy did ? nothing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
don't get me wrong , maybe It can be assumed that the reason for Luffy's hesitation at Whiskey Peak was that, first of all, he had not known Zoro for a long time, in addition, you can say that the reason was also that these people shared food and Zoro thanked them in this way. It was the first and last time he suspected Zoro, you can't say that Luffy didn't know what Zoro was up to because of him. Let's go back a bit.
The case of Buggy, a seriously wounded man who is close to losing his mind doesn't hesitate for a second to hang onto Luffy's back with a cage, that should have been enough for Luffy, right? In addition, Luffy has animal instincts when it comes to people, but for some reason he blamed Zoro for his actions.
Tumblr media
Let's continue with Law
Let's look at the situation from Law's side
A traumatized childhood, dead and murdered parents, a burned city, and the only person who trusted after this trauma was killed by Doflamingo, who was Corazon's brother.
so words "trust " and " hope " is not for law
Tumblr media
And the only thing that motivated him during this time was revenge
revenge for the person he lost, Revenge for everything that happened
he spent 13 years preparing for his revenge and yes he was willing to do anything for this revenge, he ripped out the hearts of 100 pirates, became warlord, spent months on Punk Hazard, developed a plan, left the only people he trusted on Zou for their own safety, and yes he was really ready even to die
Tumblr media
I hope you realize how important all this was to him right ?!
but what happened when it comes to luffy ?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes hope and Trust
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Doflamingo knew it clearly, maybe Luffy didn't realize how much it meant to law , but Doflamingo knew, it's not common for someone like Law to put that kind of trust in someone.
Tumblr media
what about luffy ?
"Torao is a good guy " he was so happy wasn't he ?! just look at his face
Tumblr media
Nami : noo luffy , we cant trust him
meanwhile luffy just ignored his crewmates words and "I'm in "
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then Robin
luffy : " stop talking shits, he is a good guy " he just ignored everyone from his crew and when law switched their body luffy just laughed , he wasn't even mad , he just laughed. wtf luffy
Tumblr media
let's make things clear straw hat
Tumblr media
even it means go to hell together (please just look at him )
and yes now he was law's "bodyguard "
" just tell me which one Torao"
Tumblr media
I won't talk about how he took care of Law all the way to Dressrosa, only Law? No, he didn't forget his sword either, just like law didn't forget Luffy's straw hat before
The funny thing is that even during the fight with Bellamy, Luffy's attention was on top, he didn't pay attention to his opponent, his whole concentration was on "how was Traffy?! "
Tumblr media
Don't even dare, it all obvious in his face
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And yes, he hasn't forgotten law's sword here either, his first order was "look after Law", he didn't ask anyone anything, just look after Law, protect him at any cost
Tumblr media
if you ask me how their love language looks like I will say
"luffy : I'm glad you are okay , wanna eat? "
sharing his food
yes he shared his food with law
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"law : let me die along with him I m begging you , please "
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and at the end , I would like to mention the moment that makes these two people special to me along with everything else, first of all, the fact that Law was by Luffy's side when he needed it the most, when Luffy lost his brother the only member of his family( lets dont talk about Garp ) who had left, and lost his crew , his friends, was alone without his crew , and his life was in Law's hands. and yes, Law has seen Luffy at his worst, PTSD, despair, depression, and all together.
As for Law, this person who had no hope for anything in life and had no one but a crew, was left alone and everything he had been building and organizing for 13 years, all work, all hope, he left to Luffy. At this moment he was without his crew , and yes Luffy had seen him at his worst.
If that's not a sign of trust, hope and love, then I don't know what is

chapter 1107 spoilers
Howabout that cover? Howaboutthat cover? How ABOUT that cover?
Tumblr media
Bepo, with a lovely warming pot of tea (or a kettle at least), and a club? (to protect the captain?), finds him skiving off with a snow leopard, a funnel, and maybe an empty bottle of Vodka. Chapter title is: "I've been looking for you", and it refers to the giants, I think, looking for the Straw Hats, and Usopp (especially), looking (out) for the giants, and Catarina Devon doing what, exactly? But Caribou, snivelling little sop of a man that he is, looking out for Blackbeard (his current lord and saviour). But, I'm with Bepo, looking out for Law!
The Blackbeards' land on Egghead and St. Jay Garcia Saturn says he knows all about Blackbeard's background, and Catarina knows it too, and I think it's maybe something separate from the "D" initial, cos', after all, it is in Teach's public name. But we see Van Augur--(like, why is the anime captioning him as Van Ogre when Augur is written clearly on the screen? But anyway). The last time we saw him
was
Tumblr media
here in chapter 1081 when Bepo went Sulong and escaped with Law. Most of us thought that Blackbeard's crew had been split in half because
it was assumed that events were happening concurrently, but
Tumblr media
Van Augur and Catarina Devon are here (on Egghead), and perhaps Van Augur could have warped himself there, but here he says
Tumblr media
he hasn't mastered the warp warp fruit enough to get him and Catarina off the island, so it's unlikely that he could have warped himself all the way from Winner Island. SO, did they pursue Law and Bepo, and the two are nearby, or with the giants, or, or, or? Or is there some other explanation (about Van Augur--I know that Law's whereabouts is still relegated to cover pages)? I'm not a close reader, so I'm happy to have anything pointed out.
But, looks like Catarina will be able to clone
Tumblr media
Saturn, and looks as if Saturn knows it. Of course, this guy below (Caribou) would be relevant. Can't wait to see his role!
Tumblr media
I'm out of order, of course! I don't think that Law got recaptured, but I still think there might be a giant connection. And speaking of the giants
Tumblr media
Usopp's reaction was just
Tumblr media
heartfelt, was, ahhh, my heart, and Nami and Chopper were really cute too. And yeah, it's been some time, so the quick recap was necessary. AND, lots of small things I just loved either for humour or poignancy, like:
Tumblr media
Brook abandoning everything for the sake of a cup of tea (even though he says he wasn't stopping for a cup of tea)---and Lilith sending forth messages (to raise the barrier, I'm guessing) because Brook is all too calm that the Sunny is heading towards the barrier, and bound to be fried by it. Lilith is not at all equipped for dealing with Straw Hat madness. And no-one can seriously out-machismo
Tumblr media
Zoro. He's just too silly and strong. And!!!
Tumblr media
the Pacifistas turn on the army, the army needing to suppress a workers' revolt. And that's Kuma in the bottom picture, isn't it? It looks like Kuzan, but PX is written on the cap, I think, in the picture. Again, let me know, please!
Bonney just
Tumblr media
being in awe that
Tumblr media
she gets to see Nika (and Nika teaches her how to throw a rubber punch, extra future bad news for Saturn, I hope). And
Tumblr media
Kuma and Vegapunk (what's the far right image?) take in Nika too. Love Franky's way with words here:
Tumblr media
telling Bonney she needs make use of her legs, and Vegapunk decides he's gonna stay (or die), and Borsalino's gonna make sure of it. But!
Tumblr media
the power of love is all pervasive! (at least when Sanji's wearing the boots). Although his love was used for protecting Bonney rather than Vegapunk, and probably has more to do with Germa modifications than love, but it is Sanji's motivator, and attacks Kizaru's knowledge of "how things work"!
Kizaru/Borsalino's face in the first panel really shows how much power he's losing. Sentomaru took a path Kizaru could have taken, but didn't. He's following Bellamy's path, so it'll be interesting to see where he ends up. Because he's too smart to be a blind lackey. Being an aware lackey is some powerful conditioning/mental gymnastics.
Tumblr media
And I think that's about it. Hoping Kid gets a cover page soon too!

part thirty-one
❝ IN THE JOB DESCRIPTION ❞
SUNDAY — JULY 29 — 11:24AM
BENTLEY FOUND HIMSELF SITTING ON ONE OF THE BENCHES AROUND THE FOUNTAIN HE’D MET CHLOE AT, ALONE.
The sun was shining, and the sky was a beautiful, cloudless blue, the afternoon air not too hot and not too cold. The campus was quiet apart from a few students here and there, maybe the occasional bird. Even despite the niceness of the day, everything felt sort of… wrong.
Bentley and Asten had never actually fought like that before. Sure, they bickered like best friends and brothers did, but they’d never fought. They’d seen mostly eye to eye on everything since Bentley’s met him — at least enough to make arguments practically nonexistent in their relationship.
It was weird. Knowing Asten was in the dorm mad at him. It sort of made Bentley’s whole world tilt a little… just knowing that he was mad and Asten was mad back. The real kind of mad, too.
Bentley was the one in the right. And he knew he was the one in the right.
But that didn’t make it much easier.
“Care for some company?”
He flinched when a familiar voice came from his left. Glancing up, his brown eyes locked onto Valor’s grey ones, bright and shiny in the sun. He looked sort of like he’d freshly woken up, and was wearing a big black hoodie and sweats, his arms folded over his chest.
Bentley cringed to himself, looking back out at the willow trees ahead. “Did you hear all of it?”
Valor shrugged, taking that as a yes to his previous question and and sitting down on the bench next to him. “I couldn’t tell what you were saying, but the tone of your voices was enough for me to deduce that it wasn’t a happy conversation.”
Bentley looked down at his shoes, scraping the toes against the pavement. “Yeah…”
Valor stretched arbitrarily, his wings flitting and making a series of loud poufnoises. “Well, if you wanna talk, I have ears. And if you don’t want talk, I… still have ears.”
Bentley smiled an empty, amused smile, but it only lasted for a few seconds before fading away in the morning breeze. Then he looked down at his feet and shrugged. “He’s started lying to me, and hiding stuff. He never did that before we came here. It…” Bentley trailed off, tapping his foot on the concrete with a few soft taps. “Makes me feel like he doesn’t trust me anymore…”
Valor hummed in acknowledgment as he listened, stretching his wings out, the right one lazily looping around Bentley’s shoulders like he’d done to Bellamy the night before. It was heavier than an arm and Bentley had to admit, it felt nice.
“Keeping secrets and lying doesn’t always mean he doesn’t trust you,” Valor suggested, glancing at Bentley, then across the campus grounds. “It’s more likely that he’s insecure — worried what he’s doing will change your opinion of him, so he tries to hide it.”
Bentley guessed that… made sense.
He exhaled lightly, tapping his hands on his pants. “Why won’t he just say that?”
Valor hummed again. “From what I’ve seen and heard, you’re very emotionally aware and open.  Which is good. But it’s harder for other people to be that way.”
Bentley wasn’t sure how emotionally aware and open he really was, but he’d take it. He looked down at his shoes again with a soft sigh. “It still hurts...”
Valor’s wing tightened a little around him. “I know.”
As the adrenaline and blinding anger from the fight started to wear down, and Valor’s words started bringing things to light, he started getting that suffocating feeling he got when Asten was mad at him the day before. So Asten really was just… afraid, and he’d yelled at him for it?
Everything at Redwood was just wrong. Everyone was mad and Bentley could never seem to be happy about anything — there was always something following him around and making him irritated or sad or upset or angry. It had only taken one school-week for him to get all weird and screw everything up. Like he always did.
Bentley rubbed a hand over his face with a heavy sigh, propping his elbows on his knees and dropping his head into his hands. “I hate this. School is stressing me out, and Asten’s stressing me out, and being homesick is stressing me out, and pretending I’m not stressed out is stressing me out. I’m…” He paused and searched for a word, his eyes staying locked on the concrete below them. “…overwhelmed.”
A moment of quiet passed, and as he thought through all the things that was making everything so bad, his eyes started to burn, so he looked away. “And I’m not going to cry about it.”
He heard Valor sigh lightly. Then his wing left Bentley’s shoulders, and he stood up, turning to face him. “Stand up.”
Bentley glanced up at him in confusion.
“Come on, stand up,”
After a moment of quiet, Bentley relented and pushed himself onto his feet.
“Now do this,” Valor continued, holding his arms out sort of diagonally to either side. Bentley, with a confused look on his face, copied it.
Then Valor, with a soft smile, grabbed his shoulders and pulled him into a hug.
Bentley was kind of shocked at first, because that wasn’t what he’d expected, but he gave in with a soft sigh and hugged him back anyways. Everything inside of him seemed to spin up even worse than it had been at the contact, like a tornado kicking up dust, and he tried hard to blink away the burn in his eyes that came back with a vengeance.
He tried to pull away because he so didn’t want to cry right then, but he also kind of didn’t want to pull away, and his conflicting, hesitant motions seemed to confuse Valor because he muttered: “What’s wrong?”
Bentley said nothing for a moment, blinking rapidly even though it didn’t help. Why was he crying so much lately? He wasn’t crying that much before he came to school… and he was thirteen. Not a baby. He shouldn’t have been crying at all. “I…’m sorry. I’m… not gonna cry, I swear.”
Valor moved, but it wasn’t to release him like he thought. Actually, Bentley was pretty sure his wings came forward and around him, too. “There. Now no one else can see you.”
Bentley didn’t say anything to that, but he did stop trying to pull away and held on to the back of Valor’s hoodie instead, pressing his forehead against his shoulder in a attempt to not have a spectacular breakdown.
“Hey…” Valor tried, rubbing Bentley’s back lightly. “You’re trembling. Y’know you have full permission to, like, lose your shit, right? You don’t have to try and be okay. Sometimes that’s worse.”
Bentley didn’t say anything to that, but as soon as Valor spoke, his eyes started to burn tremendously worse.
“I’m sorry…” He continued, and he hated how thick and cracky his voice was. He let go of Valor’s hoodie and brought his hands to his face, hiccuping lightly even though he was trying so hard not to.
“Don’t apologize. Just cry. It’s okay,”
And so Bentley did.
He and Valor stayed outside for a long while. And when they finally ventured back into the dorm, it was almost two in the evening. Bentley didn’t go into his room.
Instead, he found himself knocking lightly on Bellamy’s door.
It only took him a few seconds to open it. He only cracked it at first, like he was checking who it was, and when his brown eyes landed on Bentley, he opened it wider.
“Are you okay?” Was the first thing Bellamy asked softly, stepping out of the way so Bentley could come in. As soon as he crossed the threshold, the door was closed behind him. “You look like you were crying.”
Bentley sighed lightly, sitting down on the bottom bunk of Bellamy’s bed. “I’m okay.”
Bellamy didn’t seem too convinced, and Bentley didn’t blame him. He’d literally cried what had to be every last bit of liquid out of his body and was now just sort of… floating. Almost tired, in a way. Numb. Foggy.
“I had a… moment. But it’s over now,” He continued. Bellamy didn’t say anything, he just sort of shuffled over and sat next to Bentley on the bed, watching him closely with a concerned look on his face.
“I’m sorry…” Was the next thing Bellamy said, glancing down at his hands, fiddling with his fingers. “You look… sleepy.”
Bentley shrugged. “More… empty feeling, I guess. I dunno. I’m…”
His sentence trailed off. He was going to say cold, but he realized that wouldn’t work if he wasn’t with Bruce — so he didn’t say it. He just sort of brought his arms up and around himself like he usually did and exhaled lightly. “I’m… sorry.” Is what he settled on saying.
“It’s… okay,” Bellamy replied. After a few moments of quiet, Bentley felt a small hand come to rest gently on his back.
That’s when Bentley’s phone started vibrating in his pocket.
With a long sigh, he dug it out, glancing at the caller ID that was shining across the screen. It was an unnamed number.
He declined it and put his phone next to him.
About five seconds later, it started vibrating again.
With a huff of frustration, he picked it up and declined the call, then watched the screen, waiting.
Ten seconds later, it called a third time.
He answered it and brought the small device to his ear with a curt, irritated: “What?”
“Bentley. Don’t hang up,”
Something Iike existential dread shot from his head down to his toes,  and he suddenly felt kind of nauseous. His mouth dropped open but he didn’t know what to say. Lots of things he didn’t want to think about started getting dredged up and made it hard to focus, to breathe.
“I know it’s been three years, and that you have a… a new father now, but… listen, I don’t have much time…”
Bentley barely managed to stammer out the words: “How… how did you get my phone number?”
Wasn’t his father in prison? And wasn’t he, like, not allowed to have contact with Bentley anymore?
“Look, I know you don’t trust me, and I don’t blame you — but you have to listen to me,” His father’s voice started. It sounded urgent, serious, like he really needed to say something important. “I heard you’re at Redwood Academy, in New York?”
“How-“
“You have to get out of that school, Bentley. You have to go back to Gotham. Or… find another one, it doesn’t matter, just… you have to get out of there,”
Bentley opened his mouth to speak, but he couldn’t make himself, so all that came out was a squeak. His chest was suddenly constricting and tightening in a way that was reminiscent of the day he saw his father at the store, and he desperately wanted Tim.
He couldn’t breathe.
How had his father gotten ahold of him? And what did he mean he had to leave the school? He sounded serious enough, but when could someone like him ever be trusted again? Someone who was so determined to ruin Bentley’s life in every conceivable way?
Bentley ended the call without saying anything. His hands were shaking — so much that he could barely hold the phone. He tried to come back to himself, but he could hardly focus on reality through the gut-wrenching flashback reel of every other time he’d heard that voice. He couldn’t breathe.
He reached out to the side, toward Bellamy.
“Bentley?”
He thought about asking for Asten.
Instead, the name he forced out between gasps for air was: “Koa.”
Bellamy left the room not a second later.
Bentley grasped at his own shirt, unable to create coherent thoughts about anything. His chest hurt really bad and he wasn’t sure he was actually breathing in any air, which kind of made him feel like he was going to pass out, which only made him more anxious and his heart rate spike way too high. He ended up dropping his phone from how much he was shaking and he had to close his eyes because he was really starting to feel like he might throw up on Bellamy’s floor.
His father knew where he was. He knew where he was, and that probably meant he knew what he was doing, and where he was going, and who he was with, and that he wasn’t at the Manor, and he was going to kill them all. He was going to kill them all-
He flinched hard when someone’s really cold hand landed on the back of his neck.
“Hey, Bentley. It’s Koa. Can you hear me?”
Bentley might’ve nodded, if he had the willpower. Which he didn’t.
“Okay, Bentley, I want you to do something for me. Can you open your eyes?”
He tried, but it didn’t work. He couldn’t breathe.
Koa’s hand moved on the back of his neck up into his hairline, just like Bruce did — which meant he must’ve been paying close attention to Asten last time Bentley had an attack. “I’ve got you. I’m right in front of you — can you look at me?”
Bentley summoned whatever willpower he could into peeling his eyes open. Koa was sitting in front of him in sweats, looking calm as ever, even smilingslightly. Maybe a little tired, too? Or a still a little hungover? Did Bellamy wake him up?
“Hey. Will you hold this?” He questioned casually.
Bentley looked down when Koa grabbed his right hand and placed something in his shaking palm — something cold and wet. Was he holding ice?
“Thanks,” Koa continued, as though they were just having a typical conversation. Bentley looked at the little translucent crescent in his palm with a slowly growing puddle around it. “Try moving it from hand to hand, so your one doesn’t get too cold.”
Bentley wasn’t exactly sure what he was getting at, but he obeyed the best he could — he was still trembling, but he managed to tilt his right hand enough for the piece of ice to slide into his left, leaving a trail of cold water in its wake.
“Good. You’re doing great. Now try moving it back,”
Bentley did as he was told, letting the ice slide back into his other hand. The cold on the back of his neck felt eerily similar to the cold on his hands, but he was so focused on not dropping the ice that he didn’t really pay it much mind.
Koa nodded encouragingly. “Okay, now try tilting your hand to move it in circles on your palm, without dropping it.”
Somehow, he managed.
“Good! Now your other hand,” Koa added, continually and gently moving his hand on the back of Bentley’s head.
Bentley followed Koa’s directions for a while. He moved the ice in circles on his left hand, then his right again, then switched it back and forth a few more times before he realized… that he was breathing much easier.
When the ice was gone and he was left with nothing but wet hands, Koa, who was still crouched in front of him, patted his knee. “How are you feeling?”
Bentley took a deep breath. Besides still feeling a little bit nauseous like he always did after an attack, he felt… y’know. Better. He could breathe, and think, and his heart wasn’t pounding anymore, and he wasn’t so shaky.
“…Better,” He replied softly, glancing up at Koa, whose seafoam eyes were bouncing along his face, calculating, watching. “How did you… know that would work?”
“Tricks of the trade, I guess. Artimi and I have been trying out different ways to deal with attacks for a long time. Most don’t work, but ice usually does for him,” Koa shrugged with a faint smile. “It was a gamble trying it with you, but it looks like it paid off.”
Bentley took a deep breath and blew it out. “I’m sorry.”
Koa smiled sadly, patting the back of his neck once. “No apologies, dude. What happened?”
Bentley glanced down at his green phone that was laying in the floor, then over at Bellamy, who was sitting quietly next to him just like he had been. Maybe… a little more freaked out looking. “I just… got into an argument with Asten earlier. That on top of school and everything else had me really stressed out and overwhelmed…”
His roommates didn’t need to know about his father. Not yet.
“I’m sorry, I know it sucks,” Koa squeezed his knee supportively with his other hand. “You’re feeling okay?”
Bentley shrugged. “Kind of like I haven’t slept in a year. But yeah.”
“Stress’ll do that to you. I’ll leave you to rest now, but if you need me I’ll be in the living room,” Koa replied, rising from where he was, his hands vanishing and leaving Bentley sort of… he didn’t know. Cold? “There’s a whole ice maker’s worth of attack help in the fridge, so don’t hesitate to come get me, alright?”
“Okay…” Bentley trailed off, taking another deep breath. “Thank you, Koa,”
Koa smiled at him. “Of course. It’s in my job description.”
Then he left the room, closing the door softly behind him.
Bentley glanced over at Bellamy, who’d been eerily still and quiet by his side the entire time. The eleven year old didn’t say anything, he just glanced down at his fingers like he’d been caught watching something he was supposed to. “‘M sorry, Bell. I didn’t mean to…”
“It’s okay,” Bellamy was quick to respond. “It’s not your fault.”
Bentley didn’t say anything to that.
Bellamy pushed himself further up on his bed, so he was sort of against the wall, emptying the left side of the mattress. “You can lay in here. I’ll stay.”
Bentley glanced back at him, smiling a quick, empty smile. “Thanks, but you don’t have to.”
“You stayed with me,” Bellamy continued. “You said you like sleeping with people around.”
Fortunately for Bellamy, Bentley didn’t take much convincing. He quickly relented with a soft sigh and a quiet: “Okay.”
He crawled up to the top of Bellamy’s bed and got under the covers, settling in on the left side while Bellamy sat to his right. He didn’t realize exactly how exhausted he was until then — because, as soon as his head hit the pillow, he was having trouble keeping his eyes open. “Thanks, Bell.”
He didn’t say anything — but Bentley felt his hand land on his back and rub it gently through the covers.
He fell asleep within minutes.

ok this is mostly a list for @tangledstarlight who asked for bellarke fic recs, but is also for anyone who wants them!
alrighty im gonna kinda put these in some semblance of an order-ish lol, we shall see how it goes
vengeance is a dish best served cold -- slight au from 1x09, ANGST YESSSSS i love this fic so much we love to see early bellarke The meeting with the Grounders didn't go quite as planned. Now they're torturing Clarke, and hell hath no fury like Bellamy scorned.
Tears of August -- au from s2 ending, very long and not finished fic but i remember it being very good. accidental baby acquisition! and bellarke cuteness! this one is kinda famous i think?? i don't think i ever fully read it all lol She grabbed his hand and held it tight, checking over her shoulder. “Listen, okay. I’m his mother now, and I always will be, but he wasn’t always mine, Bellamy. I found him.”
who's taking care of you? -- s2finale au where bellarke are stuck in a cave and clarke has to reckon with what mount weather did to bellamy I thought about how the show never acknowledged Bellamy's torture in Mount Weather once it was over and it made me so mad that I wrote 7000 words about it.
so this is how rumors get started -- s2au where bellarke gets mistaken for being married lol, i enjoyed this one a lot! (is rated E for steamy stuff so if that's not your jam then no worries) Or: Bellamy is not as fluent in Trig as he thinks he is
then the ice runs through her veins -- 3x04 divergent, bellamy captured/tortured and clarke to the rescue GOD I LOVE ANGSTY BELLARKE The Ice Nation takes Bellamy hostage in an effort to learn Clarke’s secrets. Or — Azgeda tries to get at Wanheda through her greatest weakness, but Clarke’s not about to just let the Ice Queen send her Bellamy’s head in a box.
Common Ground -- season 4 speculation fic, INCREDIBLE i have reread this one multiple times Or: Earth is the Titanic, and there aren't enough lifeboats. Bellamy doesn't think he deserves to be on one. listne i know that's the description but that STICKS WITH ME!!!!!
you still have hope? -- s4 THE LIST SCENE i'm pretty sure i have a bunch of these ones saved lol because how can you not??? Clarke is no Titan, but in the rare quiet moments when Bellamy brings up ancient myths, she can’t help but empathize with Atlas. Except instead of the weight of the world on her shoulders, it is in the palm of her hand, millions of pounds weighing down her pen as she marks the page, each swoop of her handwriting taking strength Clarke isn’t sure she has. It’s not a burden she chose to carry, but now it’s one she must. If she doesn’t bear this weight, who will?
Bites, Bites -- another s4 List scene!! “The new hundred,” Bellamy observes from over her shoulder. She hadn’t realised he was standing right behind her. “Why is it always a hundred?” “The universe must have a taste for irony," she says, tapping the pen on the desk. She's getting very tired of the universe's antics of late.
you were clearly meant for more, than a life lost in the war --post s4, the Ring hears Clarke once a year. unfinished but soooooooo good and sad!!!! (They hear from Clarke once a year, and this is how it happens, but first: first, they mourn.)
is he alright, all alone? -- another post s4 sad bellamy fic because that's who i am as a person They’ve all tried different ways to get him to open up, so to speak.
The Wall Between Us -- 5x10 au clarke goes back to fight for bellamy, i don't remember this one as well but i do know it was good!! Clarke goes back to the bunker to fight for Bellamy's life, even though his words from the day before echo in her mind, reminding her where she really stands.
Come Get A Hold Of Me -- s6 touchstarved Clarke my absolute beloved, this fic i have also reread multiple times and i love it Clarke is overwhelmed by the intensity of being around a civilization after six years of solitude with Madi. She is also very touch-starved. Bellamy notices.
and it goes like this -- s6 clarke thoughts about bellamy! Clarke has always known Bellamy loved her. She’s just never thought she was good enough for it.
Forfeit -- 6x12 speculation, feat. bellarke kissinggggggg to throw off the suspicions we love to see it When Russell captures Bellamy and demands proof of her identity, Clarke is forced to think fast.
We shall not cross into an unfamiliar land -- clarke can see ghosts and this fic is so good! (AU where Clarke see ghosts and is the Commander of Death in more than one way)
now for some AU fics!
It's something sinister to love (without regard for dear tomorrow) -- met on the ark/ghosts au, by our wonderful friend @pink-flame (who probs also has some good bellarke recs!!) When the ghost of the Alpha Station Princess turns up in his quarters, Bellamy knows he has enough on his plate without getting involved in her problems. He just wants her to figure out her unfinished business and move on. As things start to unravel on the Ark their relationship begins to change until he would follow her anywhere. Even hell.
Passing of the Skye Boat -- ok this is an outlander au that's pretty epic!! i know very little about outlander but i enjoyed this one! (s2 and on becomes au) After returning from war as an army nurse, Clarke and her fiancé are exploring Washington D.C. as a way to relearn each other due to their time apart. But when Clarke stumbles across a NASA exhibit about ways to prevent the human race from dying from nuclear war – by way of livable space ship they are calling the ‘Ark’ – Clarke is transported elsewhere, and into another war.
If the Right One Came Along -- modern au where Clarke works at a library and Bellamy comes back home. it's really long but also really good!!!! The fact that it’s with her former best friend-slash-crush isn’t a big deal. After all, their arrangement is only for the few weeks he’s in town before he returns to his celebrity life. That’s definitely not enough time for her to fall for him again…
I Found Peace in Your Violence -- THIS IS THE COOLEST FIC I HAVE EVER READ!!! it's a very unique modern au where a "kill gene" has been found and they send everyone to a special school for it. i think of this one every time i hear that song, but also this is just such a good one. another long one, but man alive it's real good Clarke Griffin has it all. She’s popular, an artistic prodigy and has a wealthy family to boot. So when her perfect world comes crashing down around her, it’s time to sink or swim. She tests positive for the Homicidal Tendency Syndrome gene, also known as the kill gene. Clarke is plucked from her comfortable life and placed into a school with people just like her - carriers, delinquents.
What's A Little Quaffle Between Friends? -- hp au where Clarke has to patch up quidditch player bellamy a bunch, i remember this one being very witty and banter-y? (haven't read it in a while so don't quote me on that lol) Bellamy gets injured in a Quidditch game and gets sent to the hospital wing, where Clarke volunteers during her free periods. She checks up on him during the night, and the next time he gets injured, she happens to be there again. Then it keeps happening.
Your words on my skin -- modern soulmate au that's pretty cute! Clarke is nine when she realises she has a soulmate.
in grief, Demeter circles the earth -- super unique au, mashing s3 and s5 in a really cool way!! havne't read this one in a while but i remember it being amazing. also very long "Not a ship from the sea," Indra snaps, a split second before Monty draws in a sharp, shocked breath. "A ship from the sky." Clarke understands before the others do. "You think Skaikru did it," she says softly.
ok we gotta give @pawprinterfanfic props for coming up with such good au fics for them because ahhhhhhh these last ones are all by them!!!!
a castle in the clouds -- star wars au because why the heck not?? it's soooooo good i do love this one or: a princess falls in love with a criminal over the course of a week and a day
starry eyes and galaxy minds -- spiderman au that i remember being super cute and fun!!! Five times Clarke Griffin met Spider-Man and the one time she met Bellamy Blake.
Simple Pleasures -- hunger games au MY BELOVED this fic is long but soooooo good!!!! Clarke is a medic from District 6. More importantly, she’s a dangerous criminal in the eyes of the Capitol. It isn’t a surprise when she is reaped for the 45th Hunger Games; it’s the only way for the Capitol to silence her. Bellamy spent his life protecting his younger sister. When Octavia volunteers for the Games to honour their district, he knows it’s his responsibility to follow her into the arena. He would give anything for her to become the Victor, even his safety. When they meet in the Capitol, Clarke can’t deny the connection she feels to him. He makes her feel more than a sacrifice. He makes her feel hope. She knows it’s dangerous to trust others, especially when in the arena, but why deny herself some final few simple pleasures?
Paint me in Trust -- MY OTHER FAV FIC OF ALL TIME this is an hp au but like, set during the war where they're on the run AND IT'S SO GOOD!! very long and also rated E but that doesn't come in for a while and you could easily skip if wanted Somehow, she finds her way to a safe house where she meets with other wizards and witches on the run.

Note
It felt like they put him with his abuser or something I also didn't like Clarke's relationship with Lexa felt like they did that so nobody can complain about Bellarke not happening or else they'll be called homophobic I could be wrong though but it did seem like she couldn't risk Bellamy's safety because of her love for him basically the entire series is a love story between them that can't be rivaled. I really need to read the books all I know is Bellarke is canon and Bellamy and Wells are brothers in the books which would be interesting if they went that way especially when Jaha and the other come to earth. Oh right the aliens thing made no sense felt like bad fanfiction lol but it turns out Bellamy was right all along so his death was pointless? I do love the Bellamy and Madi relationship it was the highlight of these terrible seasons I also hated how everyone was like the Bellamy we knew died a long time ago like wth? Oh skipping scenes that aren't Bellarke I would do that in the books too I already did that for the show lmao.
Yeah idk what happened those years they were up there, but that wasn't what should've happened.
I actually didn't mind Clarke and Lexa. My problem was that when it finally was getting to a non-toxic stage, they killed her, like why? If you're introducing another love-interest that ruins my otp fucking commit to it.
Oh yeah, I forgot about them being brothers. Also, Wells is Clarke's first boyfriend and is jealous of Bellamy. So maybe it is worth reading the books for that lol. Let me know if you do!
The death was sooo meaningless! I was so mad about that. I mean, I still am tbh. They did him so dirty, and they were trying so hard to blame them not being together because Bellamy had changed. (Even before the whole aliens thing) Like wtf...
I have a bone to pick with those writers lmao. I think the whole fandom does. The only thing that keeps me breathing through this is the fact that they're together irl. I remember in panels they were like "ugggh" every time someone mentioned Bellarke, but they were crazy for each other 😭

✨️Reading One Piece with my Dofladile goggles on✨️
(My English is kinda trash)
Let's start with these amazing panels
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ahhh yes Doflamingo kicking Luffy around while talking about Crocodile being defeated because of him.
Now let's go back to the first time we saw doflamingo...
Tumblr media
"Let's discuss what we came here to discuss...Fufufufu! And quickly wrap up this meeting"
He was in marijoa literally bullying the marines to start the meeting, he wanted to know what happened.
Then he says..
Tumblr media
"I wasn't planning to come either, but my business has been going so smoothly as of late, I came here out of boredom"
Hmmmm idk that sounds very sus, he is obviously obsessed he was literally going through the bounties until he saw Luffy's bounty and decided it was him.
Of course he's going to attend the meeting to know what is going on..
And ...
what made me make this post in the first place is this..
Tumblr media
Why did He go to jaya???? The island the Strawhats went to right after Alabasta🤨
Was he fucking chasing after Luffy???
He came from dressrosa (in the new world)-> to marijoa to attend the meeting -> (then after he became sure it's luffy he literally flied across half of the world through sabaody, water 7 and all those islands) -> to reach Jaya
And if you read the page you can conclude that doflamingo probably called bellamy with a din din mushi to tell him to just kick the strawhats out, and not fight them (he knew Bellamy would lose), and if bellamy lost, doflamingo will kill him for humiliating doflamingo's flag, that was the agreement we learned about in dressrosa, he spared him here...
Now why did doflamingo tell him to just leave the strawhats alone, and yet come to jaya running??? I'm just picturing him really mad, flying over the clouds like that scene in punk hazard, and planning to take revenge on luffy himself😂 especially since luffy is a D too.
And when bellamy said: "If I merely kicked them out... they will get to your position eventually"
Doflamingo replied: "That is very thoughtful of you my royal follower. I like that.."
And started talking about the new era and shit, did he decide to wait for Luffy to come to him instead???
Marineford
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Current and former Shichibukai all gathered here...fufufu"
He was very excited to see Crocodile again 🥰
And finally the fated reunion..
Tumblr media
LOOK AT HIM
Tumblr media
He even helped Croc by stopping jozu🥰
Tumblr media
And started flirting OMG DOFFY CALM DOWN
Tumblr media
There's just something about this exchange, it feels very... out of place, everyone around them fighting while they're standing in the middle of the battle field flirting and having a friendly conversation in front of white beard's ship, and doflamingo inviting crocodile to team up against white beard to bring the new era, since everyone knows croc has a grudge against him.
and I think this is the only time we see crocodile smile in this arc, the exchange ends with him being a tsundere as usual which is great, I also feel like this shows they knew each other from a time back when they were rookies, they were both at lougetown the day of Roger's execution, so they probably go waaay back.
So when crocodile switched sides, and started helping white beard (the symbol of the old era) against the government, doflamingo got mad..
Tumblr media
Now why the hell is doflamingo focusing on crocodile this much???
What is Oda thinking?? What exactly is their relationship?
I hope we have a similar scene after doffy breaks out from prison, but in reverse with crocodile asking doffy how he found the bath of blood, and Then doflamingo asking to join cross guild (basically begging to be his subordinate like crocodile said), that would be awesome foreshadowing.
Then they would be working together ushering in the new era for real this time!! Maybe With moria and mihawk too!! They were all at Roger's execution after all, but now they're all fighting against the world government, while in marineford crocodile was the only one on whitebeard's side, while doffy, mihawk, and moria were fighting on behalf the world government.

hiii! Love your headcanons! Thanks for posting them again. I was wondering if you had any ideas of bellamy and clarke perhaps canon verse not only having children themselves but adopting any too? thank youuu
This got super long, so I’ll put it under cut as not to annoy everyone,  I’m so sorry but I hope that’s okay?
they're perhaps in their mid-thirties. or well Bellamy is, Clarke just turned 31 this fall. after more than eight years on the ground in some sort of semi-peace, they finally feel like they've found balance or at least they're looking ahead and not thinking like everything would be nothing but doom and gloom;
they had split away from Arkadia a few years ago and Clarke and Bellamy put everything into making this camp what it should be; negotiating the piece of land from the commander wasn't easy but they knew that Clarke, Bellamy and the rest of the delinquents had in fact more to offer than the adults who were struggling and constantly seeking conflict in Arkadia, so they agreed;
the summer after, they were granted the small valley between Trikru and Flokru was one of the most horrible and beautiful ones at the same time; he got constantly hurt from building the cabins, the walls and preparing the place for the coming winter-he'd come to clarke with broken bones, bruised ribs, big or small cuts form the axe, splinters, infections and whatnot;
she was mad out of her mind and wanted to tie him to a tree;
perhaps that combined with the burning sexual frustration was what finally made them get over themselves and come together; well that and Madi-the girl Clarke had found and brought home when she found her in the forest in those three months she spent away from home after mount weather;
the kid was rooting for them and so were the rest of the delinquents;
soon enough the cabin Bellamy was building for Madi and Clarke became the one they were making for their little family;
Madi was happy, beaming, at just seven she was already a menace and had a certain type of sadness in her eyes but she would constantly climb on Bellamy's back and ask Octavia to teach her how to fight with wooden swords;
they were happy but that didn't mean everything was running smoothly; their first winter was the hardest with lots of food rationing and the flu hitting them pretty bad; Madi had gotten so sick, Clarke went out of her mind with worry and in the middle of a freezing winter night Bellamy rode to the neaby Trikru village so Nyko could help her survive;
she did and she was weak for months after but she was there and Clarke had breathed a little easier;
they got officially married in the river the following summer with their friends yepping and Madi tying their hands with a red string colored by their blood from the cuts they made on their palms with a knife;
by fall, Clarke was pregnant; it was a surprise; they were talking about kids but they weren't working on making one right away; when it happened, though, as scary as they were, they both got really happy;
Madi herself was exctatic, impatient to be a big sister;
giving birth to Gus was hard, though; there were complications and even though Bellamy had brought her to Arkadia, to Abby for it all, so they'd make sure everything was fine, things still got out of control; she had bled too much and lost consciousness; a fever ran through her and her blood pressure was too high even after Gus came into the world;
Bellamy held their tiny baby boy in his arms and sat by her side, begging her to get better; when she woke up, a few days later, he swore that he finally felt his heart beat again-it was as if it had stopped when she was unconscious and came back alive with her;
she was unstable for the months to follow-her fever wouldn't come down right away and she was wobbly on her feet, like she was sick; her mom said she had to take it easy, rest more, focus on Gus and their family but Bellamy wasn't sure Clarke understood what the word "rest" meant and even if she did, she ignored it and tried to fight him at every corner;
he was spreading himself a little too thin trying to take care of Gus, Madi, Clarke and the camp which of course couldn't keep on for too long;
it was early January when he went out hunting and slipped down a hill pretty bad, breaking his leg in two places while trying to kill off a boar with his knife; his tusk broke the skin of his right side and went in deep, making him lose a lot of blood;
this time Abby and Nyko came together in trying to help him out-one with traditional medicine and the other with herbs and compresses that were supposed to ease his pain but even they weren't sure he'd survive;
he did, by some kind of miracle he did and he woke up to Madi cuddled on his good side and Gus asleep on his stomach with Clarke's hand in his as she napped on the chair by his bedside;
walking was never the same after that; as much as he tried, he got better but a small limp remained; it was more pronounced in the morning and at night and his bone hurt more than he was willing to admit but he mostly got back to the way things were or so he hoped;
it was in the spring festival after that winter that he met Micah; he was a sixteen year old boy with a limp just like his own and a big vertical scar on his face that started from his forehead and went to his cheek; perhaps that was also the reason why his left eye looked a little misty, like it couldn't see well or at all either;
Bellamy wasn't sure why his eyes lingered on him but they did and he asked Indra about him; "His dad died from his heart when he was just a baby and his mom and him were attacked by a bear when he was seven. She died and he barely survived"
"So he's got no one?" Indra nodded "Who takes care of him?"
"He's mostly on his own but we help out when he needs us to."
"He's just a child." Bellamy commented.
"So were your delinquents when they landed, remember?" she reminds him and he nods but he can't help but feel like he needs to do something "He's a good healer, has a natural talent for it and I hear you and Clarke could use someone like this in your camp. I can talk to him if you want?"
"No...I will." and so he approaches Micah. He's just a boy, looks younger than sixteen really but his eyes don't really show any emotion. Indra has warned him about being quiet.
"Hey." he had introduced himself and the boy looked up from his medical bag "My name's Bellamy Blake. I'm with the skai people." Micah stood up and watched him with suspicion "Indra told me you're a good healer and we could really use someone like that now." the boy studied him, dragged his eye from head to bottom before looking up again.
"I'm still learning." he finally mumbled.
"That's okay with us. Nyko's village is by our camp, you can still go and have lessons with him but we can teach you some stuff too. My wife, she-"
"Wanheda?"
"Her name's Clarke." Bellamy continued without letting this affect him "She could show you things too. We need doctors, healers and from what I hear you're good at it. We can help you become even better." Micah considered him suspiciously but didn't say anything. Just then Clarke appeared with Madi and Gus strapped to her chest, sneaking an arm under his elbow.
"Hey-" she said softly "Who's this?"
"This is Micah, he's a healer from Trikru. I was asking if he wanted to come join us." Clarke smilled and reached out for his hand that the boy took with uncertainty. She told him it's good to see him and said she would like to have someone helping her out at camp when everyone got sick or someone was hurt "Speaking of that, we should go back to our room. You've been on your feet all day, it's not good for your leg." he rolled his eyes but kissed her forehead.
"I'm fine." he promised and covered Gus' head with his own. Micah seemed surprised when he heard all of this "We'll see you around, kid." he watched Bellamy limp away and the little girl jump at him and try to get on his back which he let her do despite his pain. Clarke smilled and scolded the girl while the baby made a cute gurgling sound in her chest.
they were a family; something he's never had;
he decided to agree and go back to camp with them; at first things were rough and Bellamy had the hardest time cracking the walls the kid had put around himself; he'd sleep in the open, under a tree and eat things he found himself like apples or a rabbit he killed; he'd avoid the others and wouldn't get anywhere near them;
he worked well with Clarke and taught her a lot but he was still quiet and wouldn’t open up; she thought she'd be the one to push through and get to him but it was actually Bellamy who suceeded;
he took it slowly-asking the kid out to hunt with him, accompanying him for herb gatherings or to Nyko's village when he needed to be there to learn something new; it was when one day his leg was giving him a lot of trouble, though that he went to Micah and not Clarke with it that they broke the ice;
the boy made a compress with a herb paste and some nasty smelling stuff before brewing him tea; "You should use a stick when it's bad like this." Micah said surprising Bellamy by speaking out first "It's stupid that you don't do it."
"Do you?"
"Yes. In the winter bones hurt more, you have to let yourself lean on something."
"Sounds like good advice. Maybe you should consider it too." Micah looked up from where he was wrapping up Bellamy's knee and grunted "How about dinner tonight at our place?"
"I don't know..."
"It'll be my way of repaying you." so Micah agrees, maybe because he's too tired of being so alone, maybe because he's seen bellamy's heart and realized how good it is, maybe because he's played with Madi some more and liked having her around as much as she was pestering him or perhaps because Clarke brought Gus to Micah when the kid was having toothache and needed something to help him out;
they trusted him and he was tired of being on his own; it took months to actually break all of his walls and bring him home; they made a bed for him in Madi's room and he teared up at the sight of it; he was still cautious but he was letting himself feel things and be a part of something he never thought he would-a family;
"They're goofy but they're good, you'll see. They saved my life." Madi told him once while she was rocking Gus' crib "Bellamy cries at the smallest stuff sometimes like when I brought him a picture from school or when Gus sat up for the first time. Mama's more stern but she'll love you more than anything in the world...if you let her."
"Mama?" Micah had asked tearing up himself for the first time "We can call her that?" Madi nods;
"Of course we can...brother." that made Micah beam and he let Madi wrapped her arms around him and hug him tightly;
in the fall, a little after Gus one year birthday, she finds out she's pregnant again and this time it's supposed to be a girl; somehow that makes everything harder because it's clear she's coming with an attitude and Bellamy, despite his worries about her, can't stop joking about it;
he's rubbing his hand over her bump a few months later after they had just made love for the second time that night and letting his head rest on her soft chest; they're talking about their lives and how good it would feel to watch Micah, madi and Gus welcome the baby;
"I never asked you...what made you fight for Micah?"
"I don't know...I saw him standing there and I just...I looked the same way when I was sixteen and I had a sister hiding under the floor and a really tired mom who's forgotten what being a parent actually meant"
"You were carrying the world on your shoulders."
"And I didn't want him to have to do it too. I hated seeing him alone just like you did Madi. I couldn't take it and I know it hasn't been easy but...I'm glad he's here."
"So am I." Clarke kissed his head and ran her fingers through his curls while her other hand found his over her naked bump where their little girl was kicking, demanding attention "And I couldn’t be happier with our little family.”
“Little? You’re carrying our fourth.”
“We still have time for a few more.” she whispered in her daydream “Another boy maybe, to keep company to Gus and Micah. Cassie would drive them nuts.”
“So you agreed with my chosen name?”
“Greek goddess with a nice touch to it? Yep, it’s approved.” he sighed and moved up to capture her lips with his thinking how he’s the luckiest guy on the planet.

Bells' secret diary 2/7
Tumblr media
Teignmouth, My house, 2nd april 1992
Hello, Diary, I'm back,
I have so much to tell you and it is true that I should go in order…
No, i can't
I'M OFFICIALLY IN A BAAAAAANNNNDD WOOAAAHHHH!!!! I couldn't wait to tell you ... write it to you .. in short, let you know!
I left you at yesterday afternoon, when against all the most adverse forecasts I managed to tidy my bedroom for real.
And when the bell rang shortly after, I had to maintain a certain composure so as not to show I was panting after running to open the door.
It was Dominic. He’s always smiling. And he brought a guitar with him.
Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to carry him up to my room and my grandmother met him already armed with freshly baked cookies.
“You are my dear Matthew's friend, how nice to meet you!” She smiled at him, extending the plate towards him.
What a bloody debacle! I had exchanged four flipping words with him, only for his extreme courtesy he agreed to come to my house and my grandmother came out with these heavy and too classifying names.
I was one step away from going into the garden, taking the shovel and burying myself alive… but do you want to know what Dominic replied?
“Mrs. Matthew's Grandmother, time will tell. For now I consider myself just a very well received guest and very lucky to have tasted such good biscuits!”
Did I mention that boy is really adorable?
Do you think my grandmother was the greatest danger?
Well, it's because you don't know my mum, who appeared out of nowhere and looked so deeply into Dominic’s eyes as if she wanted to read his soul… and mum is psychic, she knows about this stuff.
"I am pleased to see that my son has decided to broaden his connections, he is always so alone, I always tell him that, however it’s a beautiful thing, guitar and piano cannot be his friends in the physical sense of the word!” If first I wanted to use the shovel to bury myself, after that I wanted to take it and give myself a sharp blow on the head.
Dominic looked at her almost deeper than she had done and then replied: "Mrs Bellamy, ou’re right  to be happy for that, too much solitude is not good for anyone." I mean, do you understand? He didn't walk away, embarrassed, or worse, annoyed, or worse than worst, disgusted.
At least Paul was away from home, so once the obstacles were over, we got to my room..
He said I have a nice room, and he especially liked the posters. I found out that we have a lot of musical tastes in common, but we differ a lot on others.
He has taken  his guitar, I took mine, an acoustic, like his, although I think the electric is more fun. We sat on my bed and he asked me to play him something.
Since we both like Nirvana, I chose 'Come as you are', but without singing it.
He cut me off midway, saying that the chord change was too abrupt, he showed me how it should be done.. and I have to admit that he did it much more harmoniously.
He proposed that we play it together and a beautiful synergy was immediately created, only then I anticipated a chord change, I was too frantic and ruined everything.
However, Dominic wasn’t mad at me  at all for that, he put his guitar on the floor to slide towards me, he placed his hand on mine, on the neck of the guitar and made me understand the exact moment in which the chord needs to be changed.
I didn't expect that contact, it left me a little bewildered and I don't understand why... maybe it was the irrepressible desire I have to perfect myself on the guitar.
After that we tried once more playing it together and this time the synchronicity was perfect.
He complimented me a lot and I gloated like a fool.
Before leaving, he told me he hadn't missed noticing the piano I have downstairs and wanted me to play him something.
Usually I don't do it for anyone but mum, grandma or Paul… instead I sat on the stool, I chose to play the Nocturne 1 in F sharp minor by Rachmaninov and it seemed to me the most natural thing in the world.
And this was yesterday, let's move on to today... because I anticipated it, didn't I? After the lessons, today there was the audition.
I went to the classroom we had agreed on, by then deserted, where Dominic and three other guys were waiting for me, the remaining members of Carnage Mayhem, who however looked more like someone who is doing you a favor by staying there.
But not Dominic, I had his undivided attention.
This time I chose AC/DC with my beloved electric guitar, ready to perform  'Highway to Hell', I connected it to the amplifier and I no longer thought if I was respecting the passage of the chords, if the riffs I chose were too risky, as well as totally improvised; I let myself be totally carried away by the music. And I even sang, I had fun making those screams like a possessed, hahaha.
The three guys - if they didn't bother to learn my name I don't see why I should - gave a sterile micro applause… but Dominic, ooohhh, he was literally excited, he screamed, he cheered me, yes, his hands were worn out from applauding me and then he ran towards me, grabbing me by the shoulders.
“Carnage Mayhem do indeed have a new guitarist!” He announced, super smiling. “And also a singer, I might add.” then he only said this to me, in my ear: "And after your performance yesterday afternoon at your house, which was incredible, I can certainly say a pianist, too."
I'm not used to all this attention, to seeing my talent - hell yeah, Diary, at least I don't have to be modest with you, I have an immense fucking talent and it can't remain confined to my room, much less this shit hole town. - recognized, but above all so appreciated.
And as if I didn't fill enough roles already, Dominic left me with a question that's been racking my brain: "Can you even write songs?"
Yes, come on, I think I can do it… or at least I'll try.
Ah, d’ you know he told me I can call him 'Dom'? And I told him he can call me 'Matt'… I don't know, it makes it more confidential, I like it better.
However,Dom is way, way too kind… he must be gay for sure!

The 100 Rewatch 2023
Earth Skills, ep 1.2
ok here we go. I thought this intro was ep 1. But no it's just excessive introing.
Running kids. Through green woods. Pretty woods. Monty falls and finds a human skeleton. lol. Either a gorilla or mutant human skeleton. "What are they?" lol
Clarke hears Jasper screaming and is like oh no he's alive she runs back with Finn trying to grab her back and he's gone. "They took him"
Back on the Ark. The first rumbles of political trouble. People wnat to know where their delinquents are. Abby is worried about the dark bracelets. Oooh Chancellor Jaha sees Wells bracelet is dark. "My son..."
Kane thinks the earth is false hope and Abby is forever hopeful that theres another reason why the bracelets are going dark.
HEre's wells digging graves alone. I have always wondered what they could have done with his character. He's so lawful good and hardworking.. Meanwhile the idiot delinquents are screwing around and acting like young children without a care. I suppose they don't know about the grounders yet, but they know they're hungry right? Why aren't they looking for food? Stupid kids. We now know that they had special earth skills classes, so the info should still be fresh even if they didn't all listen.
I do like the drumming though. Nice touch. Too bad they didn't do that anymore.
Oh Atom trying to take the kids clothes and half naked Bellamy posing with the sexy girl outside the dropship. My theory is that the girl ripped off his shirt and that's why he takes the shirt from Wells and now has his iconic blue shirt.
Fucking murphy is torturing a girl before taking her bracelet off and now Wells asks Bellamy to stop this. He's just getting started.
Oh murphy jumps him and punches him but Wells is actually tougher than him and wins the fight. I don't think Bellamy actually agreed with that dumb fight. He's not really on Murphy's side He just needs to be tough guy.
Why does Bellamy arm Wells and tell him "fair fight." Dumbass. Murphy wants to kill Wells for his father. And then Clarke comes back and scolds WELLS. Dude he was just defending himself.
UH OH THE REVEAL THERE ARE GROUNDERS HERE. survivors. That means they can survive.
Bad news is the grounders will kill them. They impaled Jasper and took him. Clarke is mad about them taking off the wrist band.
NEW REVEAL The Ark is dying. "you're not just killing them, you're killing us."
Oooh. Bellamy "Don't listen to her she's one of the privileged. The wrist band makes you a prisoner. We're not criminals anymore. You're fighters, survivors. The grounders should worry about us!" OH THE INSPIRATION.
I really don't care about Jaha. I never liked him. He's elitist and unfair and lacks empathy and doesn't care about those he writes off. He's not totally bad but not my fave. HE's trying to convince Abby to do a culling. He says hope is not enough.
"Hope is everything," Abby says.
Now Kane, the opposing force. Tells him about Bellamy Blake shot him. "Who benefits most from my death." Oh he's implying Kane did it. lol. "I follow the law. I did my job." "this job requires more than following the law. it requires when not to." Yeah but Jaha, you only follow the law when it benefits you. And I know you have a crush on Abby, we see it later. Wait is that why he floated Clarke's dad? And saved abby from floating? well it's a narrative thread that didn't go anywhere.
Wells is making packs from seatbelts and insulation. He's so handy. I wrote a fic once where that was a character trait. Clarke won't let Monty come with them to find Jasper. She says he'll save us all. FINN says he won't.
See now. This is like the second or third time when he's like 'fuck everyone else,' i do what's best for me. And the girlies I like whether it's selfish or not.
Bellamy and O, taking care of her wound. She wants to go with Clarke, and she's like, nah your leg is gonna slow us down. I'm here for YOU (Bellamy) and then she plays him and says if he doesn't go everyone will think he's scared.
This is a good search team though. Clarke, Bellamy, Wells, Murphy and asshole Finn. Wells and Clarke are plotting to use Bellamy. Bellamy and Murphy are plotting against Clarke.
Ohhhh RAVEN MAH BABY! Big smile. Asking why an exodus ship was launched/ejected. Maintenance accident that didn't cause any damage? She's suspicious. Prison visiting day.
Now Atom is in charge of building a wall. O says he's too hot to be my brother's bitch. She has THE WORST lines. Oh the guy O was with was in for murder, but Atom is protecting him from HER. I am not enjoying the O storyline. She gets better once Lincoln shows up I think.
Raven and Abby, question about quarantine in lockup. Raven pushes back at her secrets "and I'm gonna find out what it is." Raven reminds Abby of Clarke.
I'm getting tired of the Wells vs Murphy thing. But it's definitely important. I guess I just wish it hadn't been a storyline. Ugh Finn shows up finally and Clarke is relieved. Baby, you're gonna regret that.
Bellamy works Wells about his love for CLarke because with Finn around she doesn't even see him. "It's almost like you're not even here."
No. O is really annoying. She's helping Monty though.trying to reverse engineer the wristband. O isn't that annoying with Monty. He asks how she's not a basket case being raised under the floor. She says 'who says i'm not' then Atom says she's not a basket case because of Bellamy. Well that's a set up for her entire storyline. Not until season seven does she come to grips with her life without bellamy. But the rest of the story went to shit then. That was probably part of the story before they sacrificed bellarke for purple aliens.
Ugh Finn trying to make her play in the water when she's trying to find Jasper. Really. Do you not understand the word no? Now he's psychoanalyzing her. I'm looking to see if he's a bit of a cassandra. I'm not really seeing it so far. He has his own agenda and pushes it, and it's mostly about impressing her. It has always pissed me off that he was going to leave Jasper to die with no guilt. THat's NOT a lawful good. Or chaotic good. Chaotic neutral maybe. He might be right about her wanting to save Jasper because she couldn't save her father but it's still intrusive. ANd that's not telling the future, that's psychoanalyzing and trying to manipulate her frankly.
They find Jasper's blood and Finn says they're close.
Right. Raven is snooping and figures out why the kids wristbands are dying. They're taking them off. lol. "Why would they do something so reckless??" oh how naive you sound Jackson.
Oh and the shining butterfly. Oh that's nice. SHe chases it. I bet Lincoln is watching her, not that we know that yet. And that means he sees her with Atom. Kissy kissy. So romantic. First kiss surrounded by luminescent butterflies. He's actually sweet about it. Meanwhile there's a peeping tom in the trees. (Will be honest, there are some creepy elements about lincoln and O. Like how old is he? She's only 16 right? I mean age doesn't really matter on the earth but still. It's creepy now.)
Finn has learned tracking from earth skills. I mean it's an explanation. We hear moaning. What could it be? JASPER tied to a tree. That wound is right in the middle of his chest. How did he survive. I know the magic of hollywood. I suppose they meant to have him die in ep 1 but they liked him so kept him alive so they had to retrofit that wound to be survivable but they'd already shown it center of the chest. idk.
Clakre falls in the pit. Bellamy grabs her hand. And doesn't let her go. He wouldn't have dropped her. He's just not that person even if he's trying to pretend he is.
Finn sets Wells to protect Clarke against Bellamy.
Abby explains why they are taking off the wrist bands to buy time. Ooh all those councillors we've never seen again. Voting for the culling. The culling is when this story really takes off I think.
I find myself annoyed by some of the kids and jarred by the Ark story as being a bit too boring and political and slow. Jaha abstains from voting to buy Abby ten days.
Uh oh the panther. Wells has stolen Bellamy's gun. I thought he was a bad shot but he does hit the panther, first, it just doesn't deter it. And then he shoots it again just as it was lunging for Bellamy, thus saving his life.
Abby calls Raven for a work order. She tells her the ark is dying. And that they're going to start the culling. The youngest zero g mechanic in fifty years. Now fix my ancient tin can. Same piece of junk that they find in Polis. Abby is going to the ground and Raven with her. Or so they think.
Jasper is back alive. Bellamy and Murphy haul in MEAT. Finn makes Clarke a little two headed dear out of metal. And we see Raven's metal origami raven necklace. You slimy two timing dick.
Kid line up for meat and agree to take off their bracelets. Clarke gets pissed. Finn plays hero again and gets her dinner.
Wait you think you play by different rules? Murphy asks.
"I thought there were no rules," Finn says. That's a good line.
Bellamy hangs Atom from a tree when he finds him with O. "I won't be disobeyed." I guess he feels he's losing control. He's kinda dick. Although we knew that.
AND HERE'S LINCOLN SITTING IN A TREE IN A MONSTER MASK.

Tumblr media
You loved Raven, truly. In fact, you loved her more than you thought your heart was capable of. But you couldn’t help but feel like she wasn’t really over Finn. You saw the way she looked at him when he and Clarke were together. You saw the pain of losing your first love and the crushing weight of having to watch him happy without her. No matter how many times she smiled and told you she was ‘so over him’ , you couldn't help but notice how her gaze always lingered on him for a second longer.
When Raven crashed to earth only to have her heartbroken you were there to comfort her. Brought together by her tech-savvy ways and your creative ideas the two of you spent countless days together, thinking up and prototyping weapons. And when night time crept up, throwing darkness onto all those below her, She’d creeped into your bed shuffling blankets to make room on your lap for her head. You’d play with her hair and hum her to sleep as she cried on your lap over a boy who didn’t deserve her.
As you two had grown close an unspoken thing rose between you.
Little kisses through the day, always over before you could move towards her. Cuddling into her bed at night, warm bodies pressed against each other as you fell asleep to the lullaby of her beating heart. Makeout sessions in the forest when no one was around but the trees and birds and all of earth's problems melted away when her hands were in your hair and her lips planted on yours.
Raven hadn’t been one much for public PDA and for a while you thought that was just how she was. It never really bothered you, so what if she didn't feel like sharing your intimate moments in front of a group of immature strangers.
That was until Finn approached you and asked if you knew what boy she was seeing.
*    *   *   *   *   *   *   *
You rolled your eyes as Finn sauntered toward you.
“Hey.” his voice sounded exhausted. Much like everyone's did nowadays.
His hands were shoved in his pockets and he glanced around as if searching for someone. With all that you knew about Finn, you had never actually spoken to him. In fact, you actively avoided him. Desperate not to give off the impression that you were willing to talk to him you let out a hum of acknowledgment.
“I'm worried about Raven.”
Your eyes shot up to meet him. He had no right to worry about her, anything worry-worthy had been his fault. You bit back all the lectures and insults you'd thought you'd say to him someday, the ones you thought up while wiping tears with your shirt sleeve.
“Why.”
“I heard her talking to Octavia the other day about a guy she was seeing. I don’t think she knew I was there but..” he sighed, his hand going in towards his greasy hair as you tried not to grimace at its look.
“None of the guys here are good for her.”
Yeah, none of the guys.
You shoot him a frown and bit back your laugh. “No, but if she was seeing someone how would I be able to tell?”
“Well, when we were together she was always very affectionate. Holding hands in public and kisses all the time. She’s really big on PDA. Ya know?”
You didn't know.
*   *   *   *   *   *   *   *
You held in your emotions for a few days, desperately trying not to let his ridiculous words get to you. But you couldn't help it as you drifted away from Raven. Every time you were together your mind drifted to her and Finn on the ark, holding hands and kissing in the halls where anyone could see. Your mind soaked up awful thoughts until you felt your heart might just explode.
This led to you storming into her tent in a fit of anger. You waved your hands furiously through the air as you told her about the conversation you'd had with Finn.
“I know you're not over Finn, and I know you're just using me to get over him but you don't want him to know about it in case he wants you back. I won't be your safety guard to fall back on until you're ready to get up and walk away!”
“What? That’s not what’s going on at all.”
“Oh yeah, cause it sure as hell seems like every time we’re out you want nothing to do with me. You won't even hold my hand outside this tent much less kiss me.”
“Y/n listen to me!”
“No, I’m so sick of this shit”
You loved her but you weren’t going to sit and watch her fawn over her asshole ex.
When the yelling had gotten too much for you to handle you stormed out of the tent, sweat running down your back from the hot weather and your bubbling anger. You hate how it felt and how it reminded you of stupid Finn and his stupid greasy hair. You remembered a stream you had seen on one of your forest explorations with Raven.
Raven. Raven. Raven.
You hated how even when you were mad and anger flowed through your veins, you couldn’t escape the thoughts of her. You needed to get out.
The stream was probably a 20-minute walk from camp. You knew the woods weren’t safe but you couldn’t stand being cooped up in camp for a second longer. You took one of Ravens’ guns with you, just in case.
When you reached the steam you glanced around before stripping. The woods were hauntingly beautiful, but every time you looked at them all you could see was Raven. Her back pressed against the trees as her fingers weaved knots in your hair. Your fingers slipping under her shirt exploring the curves of her hips. Her lips against yours, silent gasps for air interrupting the rustling of leaves.
You wadded into the water as if it could wash the thoughts from your mind. The water was like ice and only reached enough to go a little over your knees. The light breeze made goosebumps peak from your skin as the water suddenly seemed much warmer. You squatted down, the algae rocks tickling your toes. Splashing your face with the cool water, you scrubbed it, thankful to get rid of the sticky sweat that had built up over the weeks you’d been on earth. You took a deep breath and tried to relax your muscles.
As you sat in the water you thought about everything that’s been going on. More specifically everything going on with Raven. You hadn’t even let Raven explain herself before you stormed out. Your quick temper was always your biggest problem. Hell, it's how you ended up down here in the first palace. Guilt was a sickly feeling, it nestled into your stomach and made you feel like a monster.
Suddenly the woods felt too empty, The river too dirty and everything too loud. You felt loneliness fill your heart, its claws creeping their way up as you choked back sobs. As Raven's face once again visited your memory you decided it was best to get back and apologize before the sun disappeared and sleep took your lover.
As you got closer to camp you took note of the eerie silence, a major contrast from the usual laughs and shouts that filled the camp. Walking in you saw why. Everyone was crowded around the dropship. Most people looked indifferent or only had slight concern etched across their faces. That was until you came across Octavia standing at the front.
She looked as if she would just about pass out. Fear covered her whole face as she tapped her foot impatiently. A walkie-talkie clenched tightly in her hand as her teeth pulled tightly against her bleeding lip.
“What’s going on”
Without her eyes ever leaving the doors of the drop ship she answered you.
“Murphys got Bellamy trapped inside. I- I think he’s going to kill him. Jaspers under the ship trying to get him out.”
You surveyed the crowds trying to find Raven but nowhere was the girl donning the red puffer jacket anywhere to be seen.
“Where's Raven?”
Octavia’s eyes flickered to you for only a moment before returning to the dropship. But with that one look, you knew she didn’t want to tell you.
“Octavia, where is she.” You moved in front of her, blocking her view of the dropship. Annoyance flashed across her features but it quickly vanished.
She sighed “She's under there helping Jasper but-”
That was all you needed to hear before you turned around and headed toward the dropship. Before you could make it two steps Octavia had grabbed your arm and pulled you back. You considered pulling your arm out of hers or even pushing her down so she would let you go. But the girl had a grip like iron and an attitude to match.
“She’s got this. By going in there you could mess up everything. Just trust her. Okay?”
You nodded and stayed put. But her words did nothing to ease the fear that washed over you like a tsunami, drowning you.
A gunshot rang through the air and Octavia’s grip on your arm tightened. One part in an effort to reassure herself and another part to keep you put.
You weren’t super religious but at that moment you begged whoever -if anyone- above to make sure Raven came out of this alive and unharmed.
Minutes seemed like hours until finally a familiar mop of brown hair appeared from beneath the dropship. You felt every muscle in your body relax and the headache that you hadn't even noticed disband.
You shrugged out of Octavia’s grasp and ran to Jasper quickly engulfing him in a hug. His arms hung limp at his sides and you could see his anxiety written across his face. But at least they were okay.
“Oh thank god”
You peered behind him, expecting to see Raven, but no one was there.
As if sensing your unspoken question he spoke,
“She’s still in the dropship. She-”
But you were already gone.
As you squirmed your way through the complicated working of the dropship you spotted the brunette. Your lungs filled with air and the knot in your chest eased. She was okay.
“Raven ..”
She jumped at your sudden appearance and something within the circuit she was working on sparked. She let out a slight scream as the sparks burnt the tips of her fingers.
You both looked up as the noises from above ceased
And then came the gunshots.
After the first one, you dived over her without a second thought, knocking you both to the ground. You heard her head hit the ground with a loud thunk as the air left her lungs. You covered her body with yours tucking your head into her neck as you covered her face with your hands. You breathed in her scent as bullets rained down on you. You could feel her heart's erratic beating against your chest. It felt like forever until they finally stopped.
When they did Raven wasted no time moving you off of her and getting back to the control panel, finishing what she started.
You however couldn’t move.
Damn adrenaline.
You took a few deep breaths and calmed your heart as much as you possibly could. You tightened your muscles in an attempt to sit up, the same way you've sat up your entire life. Except for this time, your muscles wouldn’t tighten. It was as if they had stopped working entirely.
“Raven “ you called out to her. You were terrified, your heartbeat so loudly you could feel it in your eardrums. She was too focused on finishing the control panel to hear you. Finally, she got it, shooting you one of those proud smiles you always loved. It quickly dissolved when she saw the fear on your face as tears streamed down from your eyes.
“I can’t move. Oh god. Oh my god. “ Your tears turned to sobs as your body shook. She was by your side in a second as she quickly took to examining your body.
“I can’t find a wound.”
“Please, please, please Raven.” She had no idea what to do but couldn’t bear to watch you break to pieces in her arms.
Slowly she moved you so you were sitting up, and although it took a while she was able to get you up and onto her back.
A bang sounded from above and the whole room shook. Her hand slipped from its grip on your thigh but she quickly managed to catch it.
She held your legs as you wrapped your arms around her neck. Although your cries were no longer audible she felt you shake against her back as warm tears splashed her shoulder.
Before she even got into the camp she was yelling.
“WHERE'S CLARKE. SOMEBODY GET CLARKE.” the blonde rushed to her side, a sharp intake escaping when she saw you.
“She says she can’t move. Murphy shot her. I couldn’t find the wound but I don’t know.” She tried desperately not to cry.
Not now.  Raven thought.  Not when she's breaking.
She carried you into the dropship, laying you carefully down on the table. It took a while but Clarke finally made it in to help.
After sanitizing her hands with what was left of the alcohol she looked at Raven. They both knew this wasn’t going to be good.
“I need to get the bullet out. Can you distract her?”
Raven nodded and held your hand tighter. You could feel her warm palm against hers, the only thing keeping you from falling apart in a fit of hysterics. That was about the only thing you could feel. Everything below your chest was dead weight.
“Remember how you thought I wasn’t showing you public affection because I still had feelings for Finn?” Clarke risked a quick glance at the girls before resuming her work.
You felt her fingers enter the wound in your back and let out a scream.
“Is now really the best time to talk about this” you tried to say between screams and grunts. She nodded, a determined look on her face.
“That’s not why.”
“Okay..” you urged her to go on so you could focus on her voice instead of the fingers probing around underneath your skin.
“No one knows that I am ya know,” although she didn't make a show of it you knew Clarke was listening.
“And I guess I was just- am just, afraid of the way people might look at me.” the raw emotion on her face almost made you forget what was happening.  Almost.
You screamed again as Clarke’s fingers exited the wound.
“Got it. Now comes the painful part” You looked at her in horror.
She turned your head away so that you were once again looking at Raven. The brunette couldn't hide the horror that flashed across her face at whatever Clarke was doing behind you.
“Trust me, it’s best not to watch this part.”
Raven almost couldn’t handle the look of fear on your face. She wanted to wrap you up in her arms and keep you safe and away from this cruel world. She laced her finger between yours, light kisses against the back of your hand in an attempt to calm your pounding heart and shaky breaths.
Clarke handed her a cloth for you to bite on. It would stop you from breaking your own teeth is what she had said.
Raven squeezed your hand in reassurance and placed a gentle kiss on your head as you let out a ground trembling scream. She felt her heart fall to pieces at the sound. The world around you disappeared as you tried desperately to focus on Raven instead of the hot metal searing your flesh.
And then-
It was over.
You just lay there, studying Raven. Her lower lip was redder than the top one due to her gnawing on it anxiously. Her eyelashes were long and cast delicate shadows across her high cheekbones. Her jawline was sharp and unmoving. Skin pulled tight in a frown of worry. The whole thing had taken a toll on you. But you refused to let yourself fall asleep.
“Raven, I’m so sorry.”
She let out a sad laugh as tears started forming in her eyes
“Never do that again.”  She wanted to scream at you. She wanted to hit you and yell at you for being so stupid. For putting her life above yours and trying to be the hero. But she knew you wouldn’t be able to handle that. Not today at least.
Your eyelids were so heavy. You decided you would just close them, not sleep.
As your eyes fluttered closed Raven turned to Clarke.
Is she going to be okay?
“Yes, but…”
“But what”
“She suffered a slight spinal cord injury. I don’t know how bad it is. She might be able to walk again in six months or a year or possibly never.”
As you heard these words your mind drifted as the welcoming arms of sleep embraced you.
As longs as Raven is okay,
I can handle it.

❝ CRISIS ❞
TUESDAY — AUGUST 21 — 11:49AM
BENTLEY LIKED QUARANTINE MORE THAN ACTUAL SCHOOL.
It was actually much, much nicer. He got to do his work at his own pace, got to spend the whole day with his friends, didn’t have to deal with Tyler, and didn’t have the stress of classrooms and late bells and all the things that stressed him out about public high school. He didn’t have to wake up at six every morning, didn’t have to change out of his pajamas. The only thing remotely similar to a normal school day was the fact that a nurse came in every evening to change the filters in Bellamy’s machines. But it was quick, and she never spoke to anyone else. Everything was peaceful.
The Dad 1, Dad 2, Dad 3 group chat was blowing up again with Dick, Jason, and Bruce all checking up on them in varying intervals. Asking if they were sick, how they were feeling, if they liked the quarantine, what they were doing in class. The normal stuff.
Chloe had stopped texting Bentley almost three days ago, now. He didn’t want to bother her if she didn’t want to talk to him. He asked how she was feeling and she left it on read, so he just… y’know. Didn’t text her again. What was he supposed to do? Blow up her phone?
Vera and Layla facetimed and called him often, to talk about everything and nothing and do classwork together. Vera never spoke about her brother, not even about the funeral that Layla had told him she went to, or about being drunk that night, so he never did, either. He just talked to them about whatever it was they brought up. Which was usually, like, being mad that theater was canceled, or that Vera’s band couldn’t practice, or that figure skating was off for the quarantine. Things like that.
Overall, it was pretty… chill. Bentley preferred it over speed walking across campus to seven classes anyways. His teachers had very few expectations — as long as he got the week’s work done by Friday, he was good. So pretty much all the other days he decided he'd do nothing at all.
Like today. It was Tuesday, but he was waiting until Thursday and Friday to worry about work, so he was sitting at the dining table at almost noon, playing a mean game of uno with Asten, Varian, Koa, and Bellamy. They’d played it four times already and Bellamy had won every single game. He was sitting in a living room chair at the head of the table, with Varian and Koa on the bench to his right, and Bentley and Asten on the bench to his left.
“I’m starting to think this is rigged,” Koa muttered with a sigh, bluish-green eyes flicking across the fan of cards in his hands. “All my cards are the same color.”
“It’s probably because you can’t shuffle,” Varian shot back with a playful glare, and Koa gaped across the table at him.
“I’m the best shuffler here! I can even do the bridge thing!”
“Being able to do the bridge thing does not make you a good shuffler,” Varian retorted.
Bentley glanced at Bellamy, who was right across from them with a small smile tugging up on his lips. Bentley smiled, too -- it made him really happy to see Bellamy feeling safe enough to smile and laugh with all his roommates. Bentley remembered how difficult it had been for him, moving into the Manor with everybody. The strange combination of trusting them immediately but also being terrified they’d end up like his dad… was hard. It took him a long time to get used to that sort of thing -- trusting people, being with them all the time, sharing parts of him he typically wasn’t allowed to or had been too afraid to share before. He didn’t know Bellamy’s story, and he didn’t plan on knowing it unless Bellamy wanted to share it. But he was glad that, whatever his past may have been, that he felt safe with them.
Amidst Koa and Varian’s bickering, Bellamy reached into the center and put his final card on top of the deck, again. “I won.”
Varian and Koa both silenced and glanced over at him. Then Varian exclaimed: “Are you serious?!”
“I think he’s a magician or something,” Koa added.
Bentley glanced up at the soft clack of a door, eyes catching on Valor and Rockie as they came out of their bedroom for the first time that day. He expected them to still be in their pajamas, but they were both fully dressed -- Rockie in black jeans and a black shirt, and Valor in joggers and a big blue hoodie that covered his wings.
“And where are you two going during quarantine?” Koa questioned, glancing backwards at them with a mischievous look on his face.
“On a city adventure,” Was Valor’s cheeky response. “Wanna come with?”
“No thanks, I’m trying not to catch the plague,” Koa replied, turning back to the table and gathering everybody’s cards again. “My immune system is such trash that I catch anything that even thinks about going around. It was a literal miracle that I didn’t get sick when Varian did.”
Valor didn’t say anything, but pointed at Varian, who shook his head immediately at the very thought of stepping out of their dorm. “I am not going to risk catching that again. I thought I was going to die.”
Valor scrunched his face up, then shrugged. “Any takers? If not, we're heading out without you.”
Bentley glanced at them, his eyes catching on Rockie's green ones for a second. There was something in them. Something subtle, and he didn't really know what it was, but it was there.
“I’ll go,” He muttered, and Asten glanced over at him, as did everyone else. “I like going to the city. Just let me put some clothes on.”
Valor shrugged. “Okay."
Bentley glanced over at Asten, who was right next to him, vaguely moving his hands under the table. Is that okay?
I think they’d both take a bullet to protect you, Asten signed back. Just reply if I text you. Ringer on.
Bentley gave him a thumbs-up as he hopped up from the table, hurrying into their room and changing into jeans and an old red hoodie of Tim’s. He shoved some money in his phone case if he would need it, and made triple sure his ringer was on before he journeyed back out to the living area.
Apparently, Rockie had made and drank an entire cup of coffee in that time, because he was washing a mug in the sink when Bentley came back out. (He swore he was in his room for less than five minutes.) Valor was standing against the wall next to the door, looking at something on his phone.
“Ready?” He questioned, and when Bentley nodded, he put his phone in his pocket and swung the door open.
“Don’t get sick!” Varian called as the three of them filed into the hallway. Rockie, who was the last one to leave, gave them a two finger salute.
“If we do, we’ll make sure to bring it home to you!”
There was a series of muted groans that came in response as they closed the door.
As soon as they were in the hallway, cut off from the dorm, Rockie's entire demeanor changed startlingly fast. His entire body seemed to deflate, his posture going closed off, eyes immediately dulling as he brought a hand up to rub at one of his temples.
Bentley blinked, glancing at Valor, who was also watching him with a visible level of concern.
“Are you okay...?" Bentley asked quietly, falling into step on the right side of Rockie as they made their way down the hall, Valor staying tight to his other side.
“Yeah,” He shrugged. Bentley wasn't too convinced, though -- he seemed to have lost color just since the door had closed, and his entire mood was different. Like he had taken off a mask or something.
Bentley didn’t say anything, just sort of looked at him.
Rockie glanced over at him, made eye contact for a second, then looked away and sighed: “Okay, well, I feel like absolute shit. But it's fine.”
"We're going to pick up a refill of his medicine," Valor butted in, glancing over at Bentley. "He gets grumpy without it."
"Feel like shit on it. Feel like shit without it. The pharmaceutical industry is laughing in my face right now," Rockie muttered.
Bentley wasn't sure what to say, so he didn't.
"Exhibit one," Valor continued, gesturing to Rockie, who rolled his eyes. The three of them stopped at the elevator, which was new because Bentley had never actually taken the elevator up to their room before. Ever since he, Asten, and Bruce took the stairs, that was always just what he did.
"Is your stomach feeling bad again?" Bentley questioned, glancing at Rockie as he mashed the elevator button.
"Like it's dying. Among other things. Like my will to live,"
Bentley, again, didn't say anything. He and Valor caught each other's eyes, but unsurprisingly, the older boy didn't seem very caught off-guard. (After all, he was Rockie's roommate.)
"Exhibit two," He continued.
Bentley stayed mostly quiet, venturing into the elevator with them without saying anything. Rockie usually didn't talk much, but then, his silence was shrouded with something different -- something cold and mean that made Bentley sort of wary to speak at all.
Valor didn't seem to care, though, because while they were waiting for the elevator to reach the bottom floor, he shoved Rockie's shoulder so hard he collided with Bentley. "Lighten up."
Bentley halfway expected him to, like, punch Valor in the face or something, but he didn't.
"Sorry," Was what he said instead.
The elevator dinged, and they all stepped out.
The lobby of their building was empty, as expected. It smelled like sterile cleaner, and the sun was shining brightly outside, making the entire room much brighter than the fancy light fixtures on the ceiling ever could.
The three of them went off campus the same way they always did -- through the parking lots behind their buildings. The entire school was, more or less, dead. Not a soul was venturing outside but them. Bentley had almost expected there to be security to keep kids from leaving their buildings, but there wasn't a single human being in sight across the entire part of campus he could see.
Didn't the website brag about security? How come he hadn't seen any since he'd gotten there?
The walk through New York City was far less exciting than normal, probably because Bentley just kind of kept looking at Rockie to make sure he was okay. Even if the walk was kind of weird, he didn't hate it -- He wasn't sure why, but Rockie had specifically singled him out in the dorm and basically stared him into coming with them. Bentley would be lying if he didn't say he was a little bit honored to be chosen to tag along when Rockie was 'feeling like absolute shit.'
That's about when it dawned on him why exactly Rockie may have invited him, and it made the whole thing just a little bit worse.
He could've invited him along because he wanted to be with someone else who dealt with her.
Something mean seemed to bloom in Bentley's chest when he realized that maybe his medicine wasn't the only problem there. (And if she was part of it, why couldn't she just leave them the hell alone?!)
They didn't go to Times Square on the way like they had the other day. Which Bentley didn't mind -- because it was so loud and bright and so much there that it would probably bother Rockie if he had a headache of any kind. It was actually a little shorter to go straight to the sketchy pharmacy than it had been going through Times Square.
Bentley and Valor floated around the building as Rockie got his medicine, then left with him, just like Bentley had the first time. Except much quieter.
They were about halfway out of the city when Bentley realized they weren't going the same way they'd come.
"Where are we going?" He questioned softly, and both Rockie and Valor glanced over at him.
"To see Georgia," Rockie replied flatly, looking forward again. Bentley pretended he didn't want to cringe. "She's working today."
(Rockie was going to see her at his worst, little did he know she was...)
Bentley chose not to think about it, as best he could.
They made it to the diner a a few minutes later. It was hustling and bustling like the rest of New York -- Bentley could see waitresses buzzing around on roller skates, delivering food to tables through the window.
The three of them went inside, greeted by a myriad of smells and the overlapping chatter of a few dozen people spread across the interior of the building. Bentley glanced at all of the waitresses that were rolling around, but... none of them were Georgia.
He wasn't sure if that was good or bad.
Rockie seemed to have the same dilemma -- he kept looking around for a few minutes from the doorway, then went in and actually glanced into one of the doors off to the side (a break room or kitchen, maybe?) Before he came back over to them with a perplexed look on his face.
"She isn't here," He stated simply.
Bentley said nothing, and Valor hummed thoughtfully. "Do you think she goes outside for her breaks?"
Rockie shrugged, but went back out the door anyways, Valor and Bentley staying close behind. He looked around the crowded sidewalks, and when he didn't see her, turned to go check the alleys on the side of the building that wasn't on a street corner; where the dumpsters and stuff were, Bentley guessed.
He was too busy looking at his feet and wondering where Georgia was that he ran directly into Rockie's back when he stopped dead in his tracks at the mouth of the alley.
Bentley glanced up at him, and then in the alley, where he was looking, and-
Georgia was there, in her little waitress dress and rollerskates, her hair straightened instead of braided, and she was...
...kissing someone else. A guy, in a uniform similar to her's.
Bentley seemed to malfunction, all of his signals firing at once when he realized that he was there and they were there and Rockie was there and he was looking at them and it was all really happening right then-
"...Georgia?"
Again, Rockie's response surprised him. As opposed to absolutely exploding or going off the rails, he just... whispered. It was just one word but Bentley practically felt the years of betrayal building up behind it like a dam that was holding too much water. When he listened, Rockie's heartbeat was through the roof.
Georgia immediately turned on her heel, shoving the guy away from her with all of her might with a sudden: "Oh my God!"
And they all just stared at each other. Georgia stared at Rockie, and he stared at her, and Bentley stared at Rockie, and Valor's eyes flicked between them all, and everyone was quiet.
"Wha-what are you doing here? B... Babe?" She asked, stuttering and stumbling all over her words, bringing a hand up to scratch at the back of her neck.
"Babe?!" The other guy (that Bentley thought should really go away now.) asked incredulously. "You didn't tell me you had a-"
"Go back inside," Georgia replied without looking back at him, keeping her stunned, wide eyes glued on Rockie. The guy obeyed without protest, even slamming the door behind him.
And then they all just stared some more.
"Georgia?" He asked again, sort of in disbelief, quiet, but with something else, too, that Bentley couldn't place.
Georgia looked around like she was trying to maybe find a way out of the conversation, and when she came up with nothing, looked back over at them with tears pooling at the bottom of her brown eyes. "Rockie, you... you can't blame me. I can't get anything out of you anymore, you hardly even kiss me..."
"Are you seriously trying to defend yourself right now?" It was Valor who spoke up that time, quiet, too, but with the same tone of voice he used on Tyler Abbott after Koa was hurt.
Rockie just looked at her. And Bentley thought he might start crying, but he didn't. It was just nothing -- this freakishly blank look on his face, like he was rethinking absolutely everything he'd ever said and done.
"Rockie, please, c'mon..." Georgia continued, and she even had the audacity to come up closer to him, a few tears falling down her face. "I can't-"
Everything happened really fast. Rockie dropped the brown bag from the pharmacy. There was an incredibly quick succession of three click, click, clicks, the clank of something heavy and metal hitting the concrete. Then Rockie had her by the throat, shoving her back against the wall with his bare hand. His glove was on the ground.
And the only thing Bentley could think in that moment was: oh shit.
Rockie's eyes turned this almost hauntingly white color, and so did her's. His hand started to glow like something out of an action movie, and his feet slowly left the ground as he started to levitate a few inches off the concrete, siphoning the power out of her like some kind of leech.
And it was over as fast as it started -- because Valor grabbed him by the shoulders and jerked him off of her, very nearly tossing him to the other side of the alley.
"Stop!" He ordered, glancing between them with a look of pure disgust splayed across his features. He picked up Rockie's glove and held it toward him. "Go back to the school. Now."
Rockie stared at him with his (green again) eyes for a solid ten seconds.
"Until you two can talk about it, go," Valor continued. Taking another step toward Rockie, he whispered: "Please. You aren't in the right headspace for this. Not right now."
Rockie looked at him for another few seconds with that blank, empty look on his face, before he took his glove, clicked it on, and left.
Georgia turned to go, too, but Valor grabbed her by the arm before she could even get two steps off. "Don't fucking move."
And then he pointed at Bentley. "Go with him."
Bentley turned to go, but Valor continued with an audible urgency in his voice: "Bentley, I mean it -- stay with him, don't let him be by himself. Break the damn door if you have to."
So Bentley went.
--
He nearly had to run to keep up with Rockie on the way back to Redwood. Bentley couldn't really focus on anything other than the fact that Valor had been so hellbent on not letting Rockie be alone. He wasn't sure why, but he would be damned if he didn't do it -- he couldn't screw up when his friends were counting on him for something as simple as company, even if Rockie probably didn't want it.
They both flew up the stairs when they got back to their building, and Bentley could've swore he almost lost him there. Rockie pushed the dorm door open so violently that it slammed against the wall hard enough to probably make a hole in the wainscoting behind it.
Everyone inside jumped -- Varian, Bellamy, Asten, and Koa were still playing uno but abruptly stopped when he came in, and Bellamy jumped out of his seat and onto his feet like he thought Rockie was coming to personally murder him.
Bentley hardly had time to close the door behind them before Rockie's bedroom door slammed with a wham! loud enough to shake the walls of the entire dorm.
And then it was quiet.
Bentley glanced over at the table, barely hearing the quiet questions Varian and Koa asked him. He only looked at Asten, who already seemed to know what was going on and looked absolutely petrified -- kind of like he might vomit on the spot.
Something in Rockie's room shattered.
Bentley turned on his heel and went to the door, repeatedly telling himself that this was what Valor explicitly said to do. He tried the handle and found it unlocked, so he pushed it open, went inside, and closed it back.
The bedroom lights were off, the blackout curtains keeping it pretty dark inside. The bathroom light was on.
Rockie was standing at the sink, not looking in the mirror, just kind of staring down into the basin. There was glass around his feet that Bentley could see the ceiling in. The mirror.
His own heartbeat was sort of loud in his ears (because Rockie really could kill him so fast), but he he inched his way closer to the door anyhow. He didn't know what to say. What the hell was he supposed to say? Why couldn't he think of anything?
When he got close enough, he spotted the mirror above their vanity -- completely shattered to pieces with only a few slivers left in the frame, and shards of glass peppering the countertop and sink and floors. Thankfully, there was no blood, due to Rockie's gloves, he guessed.
Bentley looked at him, but all he got was the same empty look from the alley.
Bentley tried to come up with something to say and failed, but it didn't matter anyway, because Rockie just looked at him and immediately started freaking sobbing without any warning at all. The bad kind that was so hard it was dead silent.
Bentley sort of felt like he had whiplash from how fast everything went down, and how fast Rockie's mood changed, and he might've even felt like crying, too, but he didn't.
He just sort of gently grabbed Rockie's arm and tugged on him a little, to get him out of the bathroom because there was glass on everything and he didn't trust him to not accidentally cut himself. He expected him to fight back, but he didn't. He just moved with him. Bentley thought he was actually doing okay at leading him to his bed before Rockie hit the floor only halfway there, and Bentley did, too, because he was holding onto him. But it was okay.
Bentley never left.

Purely Platonic [ B.B ]
Tumblr media
request: Hi! I saw that your requests are open and I wanted to ask for a Bellamy x reader imagine. I was thinking something like you’ve been seeing each other but having defined your relationship. Then you overhear him tell someone that you two are just friends and will never be more. I would love a fluffy ending though :D
pairings: Bellamy Blake x reader
warnings: angst, jealousy, fluffy ending
Ever since your and Bellamy's kiss after the battle in Mount Weather, things have been great. And that went both ways. You two haven't exactly said what you are but you didn't see the need for it, you shared a room in Arkadia and spent most of your free time together.
There hasn't been a proper 'I love you' but you both knew you cared about each other in more ways than platonically and he didn't fail to prove that every night after your guard shifts.
Your friends didn't know what you were either, but they knew you were hooking up. At least Raven did, and she didn't disappoint in calling you out while the two of you were fixing the Rover.
But now, while you were making your way to the guards meeting room, you figured Monty knew something was up too.
"So what's the deal with you and Y/N. Did you finally get the guts to tell her how you feel?" you heard Monty ask as you walked to the room.
And you, being nosey, decided to hide behind the door to listen.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Bellamy's gruff voice came from inside.
There was a loud snort coming from Miller, "Sure you don't, buddy. Should we just pretend you two haven't been making puppy dog eyes at each other since we landed two months ago?"
"Listen," Bellamy started "I never felt whatever you two think I feel towards Y/N. We're best friends who fool around from time to time. But nothing more. We only share a room because there's no spot left and I didn't want to share a room with my sister and her boyfriend."
You felt your heart sink in your stomach and tears prick in the corners of your eyes. You knew Bellamy wasn't good at expressing his emotions to anyone besides Octavia but that doesn't mean his words hurt any less.
The sadness and hurt soon turned into anger and you turned around to make your way back to your room.
When you came in you put your gun down and took your guard jacket off to put your usual blue jean jacket on.
You took your hair out of the high ponytail it was in and made your way to the bar outside where you found Raven, Octavia, Lincoln, Wick and Gina sitting around a table.
"There you are!" Raven exclaimed as soon as she saw you walking up to the group.
"Hey, Rae." you grinned at her before looking at the rest of the group, "Everyone."
"Ouch." Wick winced, "I'm truly hurt, gorgeous."
You shook your head with a smile and sat down next to him, "Hello to you too, Kyle."
You knew Bellamy was always kind of jealous of how close you and Wick were. You two were best friends ever since you became an engineer and were basically inseparable back on The Ark. Right now, you also knew you were being petty by planning to flirt with him to get Bellamy mad.
"I thought you had a shift at the gates now?" Octavia asked you with furrowed eyebrows.
"Jones took over earlier so I just came here." you shrugged.
You looked at the drink in front of Wick and reached for it. Wick gave her a playful glare after you drank from his glass and you just stuck out your tongue making him chuckle.
He reached over to ruffle your hair and grabbed the glass from your hold, "I'll go get myself a refill and a glass for you."
"Thanks." you said, watching him walk away.
You turn back around to see Raven narrowing her eyes at you, "Something's wrong. What's wrong? Do I need to beat someone up?"
"Nothing's wrong." you told her innocently, leaning back.
"Maybe she's just sexually frustrated." Gina teased with a wink, "You should talk to Bellamy about that one."
You scoffed but before you had the chance to answer a voice from behind you spoke up, "Talk to Bellamy about what?"
When you turned around you saw Bellamy, who just walked up to the table followed by Miller.
"Just the guard's schedule." you shrugged and gave him a pointed look when he was about to sit down, "Sorry, the seat is taken."
He furrowed his eyebrows and smirked thinking you were just teasing him, "Who could possibly be more important than me?"
"Sorry that would be me." came the voice of Kyle with two glasses of alcohol in his hand.
You gave him a thankful smile once he handed you the glass while sitting down, back next to you.
Bellamy hoped his annoyance wasn't obvious as he sat down in the middle of Octavia and Gina.
Hint: it was very obvious.
Wick gave him an innocent smile while putting his arm on the back of your chair. You smiled at him already knowing he was only doing it to annoy Bellamy, which he made a big habit of.
Raven raised an amused eyebrow at the tension between the two males before clearing her throat, "Before you guys rudely interrupted us, we were discussing the style of the Rover's doors."
"Slide doors, obviously." you perked up at the topic.
"Thank you!" Wick exclaimed, turning towards Raven, "It's much more practical than having it open like normal doors."
"Of course she'd agree with you." Raven muttered, rolling her eyes.
"Duh," you smirked, "Great minds think alike."
"Damn straight." Wick agreed with a proud smirk that made Bellamy clench his jaw in annoyance.
He couldn't help but eye the arm that was basically wrapped around your shoulders. The Blake brother would never admit it out loud, due to his enormous ego, but he was always jealous of how close you and Wick were. The fact that Wick was a natural flirt and a very touchy person didn't help at all.
"You want to get together and work on it tonight?" he heard Wick ask you and watched you gave him a nod of agreement.
The dark haired boy cleared his throat, "Don't we have plans tonight, (Y/N)?"
You looked at his with furrowed eyebrows, "I don't think so, Bell. But don't wait up, I have the room key with me and I'll be careful not to wake you up."
Octavia, Raven, Gina and Miller had to fight the urge to laugh at the look on Bellamy's face. The four finally realized what you were doing and that there was obvious trouble in paradise.
"Yeah, you two have fun. Me and Gina have plans tonight so I won't be able to help." Raven spoke up with a fake apologetic look you almost snorted at.
"Don't worry about it, Reyes."
-
It was almost two in the morning once you finally returned to your and Bellamy's room.
You opened the door, only to find Bellamy sitting on the bed with his arms crossed over his chest and a serious expression on his face.
"Where the hell were you?" he asked, getting up as soon as you shut the door behind you.
"I already told I── "
"No, I mean why the hell are you back here at 2 a.m?" he demanded.
"We got held up, relax." you said shrugging off your jacket and putting it over a chair.
"Relax? You come back to our room at 2 a.m reeking of alcohol and you want me to relax?" he snapped, clenching his jaw.
Your eyes widened, "Can you stop yelling and being overdramatic? You're saying this like it's the first time."
"Well it's the first time you stayed that long after being alone with Kyle, so excuse me if I thought you weren't just working on the Rover." he clenched his jaw, pure anger radiating from him.
"What if we weren't?" you say after a few seconds of silence making his head snap up to look back at you, "What if we were doing something other then fixing the Rover? I'm not your girlfriend, you don't own me, Bellamy. I can do whatever the hell I want."
Bellamy gaped at you in disbelief, "So what? You actually slept with him?"
"No." you crossed your arms over your chest, "But I'm saying that if I wanted to I would have. Especially since you have no romantic feelings for me whatsoever. We're just fooling around, right?"
He blinked in shock as realization hit him, "You heard that."
You nodded, "Yeah, but it's fine. I'm stupid for thinking Bellamy Blake, the Casanova of the camp that slept with half the girls there, would want to be in a relationship. Not your fault."
"You really think that?" he asked, his voice coming out a lot softer then when you started the conversation, "That I only want to sleep with you and that I don't have feelings for you?"
"That's what you said, didn't you?"
"What if I didn't mean it?"
His question caught you off guard so you furrowed your eyebrows, "Bellamy that doesn't make── "
"I love you, (Y/N)." he cut you off making your eyes widen.
"You what?" you choked out.
"I love you." he repeated, "And you don't have to say it back but I do, I love you. I'm in love with you. What I told Monty and Miller was a complete and absolute lie. I had feelings for you ever since we came down and wanted to be with you ever since."
You didn't know what to say. You were waiting for him to say that for the longest time but now that he finally did you had no idea how to respond.
Noticing your silence, he let out a sad sigh, "And now I probably fucked everything up."
He cleared his throat, snapping you out of your daze, "I can ask Miller to bunk with him tonight, if you're not── "
"No, no." you cut him off "I── you have no idea how long I waited for you to say that."
Before he even had the chance to process your words you wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him into a kiss. It took him a second to respond but when he did, you smiled into the kiss and felt his arms wrap around your waist to pull you impossibly closer to him.
You pulled apart, panting for air when a huge grin broke on his face, "I guess this means you love me back."
"Yeah." you chuckled, "I love you, Bell."

Tumblr media
Hearing Chris's voice i pushed back my chair and made my way to the front door.
"She's not here" i heard Alex say as i got closer.
"Come on man, its important...."
"Alex it's fine, i'll be okay" i spoke up. I saw Chris sigh with what looked like relief?... but it was quickly replaced with a look of regret, maybe a little fear. Good!
"I'll just be in there" he pointed back towards the dining room " if you need me...."
"I'll let you know" i smiled. Alex eyed Chris once more before reluctantly retreating.
"How'd you find me?" I asked crossing my arms, it was kinda like my protective barrier.... he hated when i did this.
"Um, you used your card for gas.... a notification came up on your iPad. I looked up the gas station and drove out there. I asked the cashier if she'd seen you...."
"Great" i rolled my eyes, making a mental not to turn of my notifications!
"She said she remembered you coming in because you looked exhausted and she tried to get you to stay in a motel. But that you told her you only had an hours journey... thats when i kinda figured this was where you were. I didn't think you'd come this far to be honest".
"Was kinda the point"
Chris nodded sadly realising that i came here because i knew he wouldn't think id drive all the way out to Chelsea's.
"I know I'm the last person you wanna see right now, but Y/N we need to talk about some stuff...."
"Not here, i don't want the kids hearing" i said stepping outside and walking across the street to where his car was parked.
Once we were both in the car i turned to face him trying to keep myself from crying, because my god that was all i wanted to do!
"So what do you wanna talk about.... how you cheated on me??"
"I made the biggest mistake of my life. Its over i promise you.... it was never serious, but what i was doing.... it should never had happened!!"
"You slept with someone else of course it shouldn't have happened!!" I shouted.
"I never slept with her!!"
"What??!"
"I never slept with her i promise!"
"But you said you've been seeing someone!"
Chris nodded running his hand over his bearded jaw "it wasn't about sex, we just connected on an emotional level....I didnt even realise it was a problem at first...."
he sighed "but i found myself seeking her out when i was having a bad day. When things got hard with us.... we'd been trying everything to get pregnant and it just wasn't happening"
"You confided in her??! About our relationship?..."
"I was stressed and i blamed myself..... i felt like i was letting you down. I felt us drifting apart...." he told me sadly "i don't even know when it happened. But i started spending a lot of time with her...."
"And less time with me. All while i was sitting waiting for you to come home like an idiot! I know it was hard trying to get pregnant Chris but thats no excuse for you doing this! You should have come to me!" I turned my head away to wipe away some stray tears that managed to escape.
"Please don't cry dahlin'...."
"How can i not??....."
"Tell me how i can make this right? I don't want to loose you...."
"Im not sure you can. Chris do you have any idea how this makes me feel?? I feel like I'm not enough for you..."
"You are! I promise you, you are enough..."
"Clearly im not or we wouldn't be having this conversation!"
"So thats it? You're just gonna give up on us?"
"I wasn't the one who gave up on us. My god Chris, i would've done anything for you..... you were my world!"
"And now?....."
"Right now i can't even stand looking at you" i said sadly "my heart is in pieces..... i still can't wrap my head around the fact you did this. Its so out of the blue..... i thought we were happy" I cried into the sleeve of my jumper "i was so excited to tell you i was finally pregnant...... this baby couldn't have happened at a worser time. This should be one of the happiest days of my life but its been anything but happy".
"Will you just come home, please? We can sort this out...."
"I can't. I think we need some time apart"
"No..." he cried, tears running down his face "baby please don't leave me...."
"Go home Chris" i said quickly as i opened the door and stepped out.... i was in such a rush to get away from him that i didn't see the SUV coming towards me.
"Y/N!!!!" Was the last thing i heard before everything went black.
Tumblr media
"Y/N!.... Y/N wake up....." i could hear Chris' voice as i slowly opened my eyes.
"Chris.....?"
"Yeah baby its me, you were dreaming" he said quietly as his hand stroked up and down my back. It was then that i realised i was laying in bed with Chris' arms around me.
It had all been a dream??!
I suddenly burst into tears, sobbing into Chris' bare chest.
"Hey.... hey whats wrong?" He asked tightening his hold on me "is it your dream?"
I nodded as i continued to cry "it was h..horrible! It felt so real...."
"Do you wanna talk about it?"
"No. Chris let go of me.... i think I'm gonna be sick...." i pulled out of his arms and ran to the en suite. I made it just in time before i spilled my guys into the toilet.
Once the sickness passed i headed downstairs telling Chris i needed a minute to myself. I knew it was a dream... he hadn't actually done anything wrong, but i was pissed at Chris and felt ridiculous! I was sitting on the sofa under a blanket holding a warm mug of Chamomile tea when he came walking in. He hovered in the doorway for a minute before finally coming to sit next to me on the sofa.
"Look i'm not sure what i did to piss you off but will you come back to bed please? You know i hate sleeping without you"
"You haven't done anything wrong" i reached out and took his hand "that dream just really shook me up"
"Talk to me.... you might feel better if you talk about it"
"I... i found out i was pregnant...."
"Dahlin, its gonna happen i promise...." he quickly added thinking that was the reason i was so upset, because that part of my dream was real.... we'd been trying to get pregnant for so long now but it just wouldn't take.
"Thats not what got to me..... i found out i was pregnant but before i got to tell you, you came home from work and told me you had been seeing someone else. It felt so real...."
"Sweetheart....." Chris looked at me sadly tightening his hold on my hand "it was just a dream. I would never do that to you.... you're my world. Id be lost without you"
"It was horrible Chris! It felt so real! I left and went to Chelsea' but you tracked me down..... we were arguing in your car one minute, the next I'm getting out to leave and i got hit by a car! then i woke up...."
"I know it felt real, but its not. Im not going anywhere, you're stuck with me"
He pulled me in and pressed a tender kiss to my lips "i love you".
"I love you too".
"Sweetheart?.... are you crying again?"
"Yes!" I cried loudly, my god i was a mess! Chris chuckled softly.
"You're not still pissed at me because of your dream are you?"
"No! Im just very emotional!"
"Okay don't get mad at me but, are you sure you're not pregnant?".
I sat up straight on the sofa and stopped crying long enough to think about when i had my last period.
"Oh my god.... i'm late" i gasped, I was never late! "Do you think this is really it?"
"I hope so dahlin!" Chris replied with a huge smile.

Silent bloom
Pairings: Bellamy Blake/reader Finn Collins/reader
Warnings: Mentions of blood, and vomiting
Chapter: 1.12 (Bellamy’s pov)
1.02
"Cut it out!" Y/N snapped, which took me by surprise. She seemed so quiet. "The only thing that matters right now is finding Jasper! Bellamy, stop moaning. You’re coming with us and that’s the end of it."
"Excuse me?" I was irritated by her tone.
Y/N walked closer to me, with a look of disbelief on her face. "You want to lead? Then lead. You’re the only person here with a gun, and those kids out there won’t follow you unless you give them a reason to."
"She’s right." Clarke chimed in. "Because you want them to follow you and right now they’re thinking only one of us is scared."
"Fine."
I watched as the bossy girl froze just before she reached the camp gates. It seemed like she was telling Finn to get lost. The last thing I needed was any more drama in camp. I had a feeling the girl with the scarred eye would cause it.
"So how did you earn the nickname angel eyes?"
My ears perked up when I heard Murphy shamelessly trying to flirt with the girl walking beside him. It was hard to figure out if she was enjoying his attention or not. "The only person who calls me that is you, Murphy."
"How did you get the scar?" I listened in, as I was curious myself about how she got it.
"Fist fight in a bar. You should have seen the other guy." She had a dry sense of humor, "I fell and cut it."
"Can you see clearly out of it?" He asked, standing closer to her.
"Yes, and I know what you are doing!" She snatched her wrist back, laughing. Murphy just shrugged. "I’m not giving it to you, so you and your little king can stop trying."
I glared at Y/N when she turned around to face me. I had nothing to do with Murphy trying to take her bracelet off. It wasn’t my fault if he wanted to try and show off.
"Did you hear that?" Wells asked, "It sounds like a moaning pain."
"Jasper!" Y/N gasped before running off in the direction of the noise. "He’s over here!"
"Y/N wait!"
She didn’t listen to Wells. What a stupid girl. She was going to get herself killed. I watched as she suddenly disappeared. I lunged forward to see what happened to her. Y/N was hanging onto the grass to stop herself from being killed, "Help me up!"
"Y/N? Bellamy pull her up!" Finn yelled just as I grabbed hold of her wrist. Clarke and Murphy helped us pull her up.
Y/N landed on top of Finn before quickly rolling off him, and glared at me. "What the fuck was that about?! You almost got me killed!"
Clarke shook her head and stepped forward before she could reply. "This isn’t going to help. The grounders are setting traps to catch us. We all need to be more careful."
The ‘princess’ was right. Y/N continued to glare at me. Was it my fault? Did she think I was going to let her die? I didn’t care about her, but we needed all the bodies on earth we could get.
"Stay here, I'll be back shortly." I watched the girl curiously as she walked towards the fire pit.
"Hey, John?"
I was expecting Murphy to kick off at being called his first name, but he looked amused. "What?"
She held up her wrist, "fancy freeing me?"
"Anything for angel eyes," Murphy said, grinning.
I watched her pick up a stick of meat and head towards her previous spot, but Finn and Clarke stopped her. I couldn’t hear the full conversation, just bits of it. I didn’t get Finn’s obsession with her. I wondered if they knew each other on the ark. "Yes, I am aware of that. Now if you don’t mind, can you move out of my way?"
"Then tell me, why did you take it off?" Finn demanded, not moving out of her way.
"Some of us don’t want to get punched in the face...Plus, It was hurting my cut wrist."
Her comment didn’t bother me, but Finn bothering her did. Also, I felt slightly bad that she cut her wrist while we pulled her up. I was getting ready to intervene when she walked away from Finn and sat back down beside a young girl, and handed her food. She had taken off her own wristband to feed someone else. Not many people would have done that, not even me.
1.03
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Finn storming towards Y/N, or whatever her name was. "Is it true?" She ignored him, "Well! Is it?"
She shrugged, "I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m a little busy here, Finn, so if you don’t mind."
"Please tell me you didn’t spend the night with Murphy." I noticed how offended she looked by his accusation. "You are so much better than that Daze. Why would you do that? Don’t you have any self-respect?"
"At least Murphy is flying solo."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Clarke asked from behind him.
"Nothing... it means nothing." She turned to walk away when she caught me staring. It didn’t seem to phase her much as she turned back to throwing knives.
I waited until Clarke and Finn were gone before approaching her. Even if she had screwed Murphy, neither of them had a right to judge her. "Y/N right?"
"Yeah," she answered without taking her eyes off the target. "But I go by Daze or Daisy."
That made sense. It suddenly occurred to me that this was the same girl that my sister wouldn’t shut up about. Somebody with her aim would be good at hunting. I wondered if she would be interested in joining us. "Useful to know. You have a good aim. Any interest in killing?"
"I’m not leaving the camp until Jasper is better," she replied, "maybe next time."
"Do you hear that?" I asked. "He’s dying. Don’t get your hopes up."
She scoffed at my comment, "enjoy the hunting trip."
I left her alone to practice. I wasn’t pointing out the obvious to be cruel, I just needed people to be prepared for the worst. When Jasper dies, the rest of us will still need to go on living.
I noticed Daisy walking out of the drop-ship, which surprised me. I thought she would have been celebrating her friend surviving. "Hey, are you okay?"
"I just needed a moment... I’m sorry about Atom."
I stared down at the ground to avoid eye contact with her. The last thing I wanted was anybody to see me get upset over Atom. He was my friend who trusted me, and I had let him down. "I don’t think Octavia is feeling sorry for me."
"She’ll come around. She’s just upset. Give her time," Daisy said with a smile.
"I’m glad you never came hunting with us." I confessed out loud, "Like I said, you have a good aim. It would have been a shame to lose someone with such skills."
I could see a smile pulling at the corner of her lips. "Yeah, yeah. Goodnight Bellamy."
"Finn move aside," I snapped.
"I can’t do that."
I pushed him out of my way as I walked into Daisy’s tent. I had to see for myself if she was still alive. When she never came back with Wells, I decided to look for her and saw her laying on the ground with a knife in her stomach. I thought she was dead.
Kneeling down beside her bed, I noticed how fragile she looked. Clarke had worked a miracle by saving her.
"Bellamy, you need to leave now!" I stood up again, and faced Finn. I found it ironic that he only cared about Daisy after she almost died. "If Daze gets an infection, she will die. The more people she comes in contact with, the higher the risk."
"Whatever," I shoved past him. "When Octavia comes, you will let her in."
1.05
I had just disposed of the god-damn radio when I felt something bang into me. I was surprised to see a slightly confused Daisy standing behind me.
"Y/N, what are you doing out here?"
"Me and Clarke came looking for you."
Was she joking? Nobody had seen her in hours. If she wasn’t back by the time I returned, I was going to go look for her myself. If anything, it was to stop Octavia from going off on her own. "Looking for me? Octavia was worried sick when she couldn’t find you last night. Where the hell did you go?"
"Bellamy Blake? They’re looking everywhere for you."
Fuck. The brunette had survived. I should have made sure she was dead before I stole from her. As Clarke, Finn, and the new girl lectured me, I noticed how unusually quiet Daisy was. She didn’t seem interested.
"It’s no use, it’s gone."
Daisy rolled her eyes at me, "That’s not a good leader’s attitude."
"Guess I’m not a good leader then. You’re really not going to ask why I did it?" I was curious.
"It’s not my business." She shrugged. When Daisy removed her jacket, I noticed how badly her stomach was bleeding. She must have burst her stitches open.
"Hey," Raven said, stepping closer to her. "Your bleeding is pretty bad."
I stood awkwardly trying not to listen to the two girls' interactions. It was clear they didn’t like each other. I just wanted Daisy out of the water before she passed out.
"Hey, have any of you seen Octavia?"
Clarke shook her head. "No, I mean...it’s Octavia. She’s probably chasing butterflies."
Daisy frowned at the comment. I imagined she didn’t like Clarke’s attitude either. I thought back to the conversation I overheard with Daisy and Finn earlier, and wondered if she was looking for my sister because she needed a shoulder to cry on. It wouldn’t have surprised me. I couldn’t believe she was sleeping with Finn while leaving the rest of us to worry about her.
1.07
"What the hell, Bellamy? Are you trying to give me a heart attack?"
"Your aim is off."
"Thanks." She rolled her eyes and turned back to face the tree. "Don’t you have anything better to do than sneak up on me?"
I probably shouldn’t have walked up to someone holding a deadly weapon without making my presence known beforehand. I couldn’t tell by her tone if she was mad at me as well. "Who we are and who we need to be to survive are very different things."
"Seriously Blake?" She scrunched up her nose, "A line like that might work on others, but not on me."
Daisy walked over to the tree and let out a whine when she pulled the knife out. I rushed over to her and grabbed her hand, concerned she’d cut herself on the knife's edge. I was relieved to see it was just a small splinter in her hand, "It’ll push itself out."
"I know that...I just can’t quit thinking about how painful it must have been for Finn."
I stared blankly at her. I couldn’t get my head around the fact that she cared for the spacewalker so much, especially when he took her for granted. It was obvious that she cared about him more than herself. Hell, she even burst her own stitches while having sex with him.
"You got stabbed in the stomach," I pointed out. She shrugged. Daisy hadn’t been able to look at me since we brought the grounder back to camp. "I’m not sorry we saved Finn, but I am sorry for what you saw me do."
"Are you ready to go?" Clarke asked, walking towards me. I nodded in response. She turned to face Daisy. "Daze, Finn was asking for you."
Of course he was. I was going to ask Daisy if she wanted to join us while looking for weapons, but I knew she’d never come with Finn wanting her attention. "You better go run off and find him then."
She smiled at us, "be safe out there."
As she walked away, Clarke stood beside me, saying, "You didn’t ask her, did you?"
"No."
"Why not?"
Good question. "We are better off with just us two. She would have slowed us down."
Clarke leaned into me, "you know, that was a very fake smile she just gave us."
1.09
As we walked towards the gates, I noticed movement outside camp. We slowed down until we got a better look. Clarke suddenly ran over to the couple, "Daisy!"
On closer inspection I could see why she ran over to them. Daisy was violently throwing up. Clarke held her hair back while she continued to vomit. "What’s wrong with her? Is she the only one sick in camp?"
Finn shook his head, "She was just high for the first time."
"What?" I snapped.
Finn shrugged, "Yeah, most of the camp is high. They ate some bad nuts, I guess."
Clarke continued to rub Daisy’s back, saying, "Bellamy, I'm going to take Daze back to her tent, then I'll meet you in the drop-ship."
I frowned at Finn, who seemed to find the situation amusing. "Grounders are out here," his smile faded. "You’re just lucky you didn’t get her or yourself killed."
I noticed Daisy finally emerging from her tent. She looked slightly better than the night before, but still hellish. "Hey, you good?"
"Yeah, I’m good. Enjoying unity day?"
I pointed towards the rest of camp, "somebody needs to be sober while the rest have fun."
She chuckled, "Everyone deserves to have some fun, even you Blake."
She had a point, but my idea of fun would be different from hers. Although I found myself tired of sleeping with a different girl every night, they all bored me once the sex was over. "I’ll have fun when the grounders come."
"Dark as always," she laughed.
I smiled, "you look a lot better than when I last saw you."
The moment the words left my mouth, Daisy’s face turned red. I had accidentally embarrassed her. I gulped down before changing the subject, "What did you get arrested for anyway?"
I noticed she wasn’t listening to me by the way she was watching something else, "It’s Finn."
I tried my best not to groan. I honestly didn’t understand what was so special about bloody Finn. He had Raven, Daisy, and Clarke wrapped around his finger. I doubt he cared that much about any of them. Lost in my thoughts, I almost missed Daisy going to leave camp. "Where do you think you’re going?"
"To get Finn, he’ll get killed out there on his own."
"So could you." I paused for a moment before letting out a sigh of defeat. I could tell by the look on her face that she was going after him regardless of what I said. "I’ll come with you."
"No...Somebody needs to stay here in case the grounders do turn up. If I can’t see where he went past the tree-lines, I’ll come back."
I clenched my jaw with frustration. I didn’t like this one bit. "Fine. But if you are gone too long, I’m sending out a search party."
"Bellamy?"
"So much for staying in the tree lines," I frowned.
Daisy rolled her eyes as she pulled me into my tent. Was this really happening? Was she trying... "Whatever, look, Finn set up a meeting with the grounders to call a truce."
"He did what?" Finn had quickly gone from being a little annoying to a real pain in my ass. He was going to get himself killed. I just hoped when that happened he didn’t drag anybody else down with him.
"We spoke to Lincoln... the grounder who stabbed him. He’s going to set up a meeting between our people and his. Finn and Clarke are getting ready to leave."
I stepped closer to her so I could speak in a lower voice, "Why are you looking for me then?"
She seemed nervous the closer I got to her. Her lips parted slightly as she looked up at me. "I’m going to follow them, and you’re coming with me."
"Anyone ever told you that you have a bossy side?" I preferred the bossier side of her.
"We should wait five minutes," she answered, ignoring what I said. "Finn doesn’t know that we are following them."
"Why not?"
She knotted her fingers together, and looked down at the ground. I made a mental note to remember she did that when she was lying. "Because Lincoln told us not to take any weapons, and I don’t agree with him. But Finn does. We are going to be their backup."
I didn’t see the point in arguing with her when it was already happening. "Okay, I think we need one more person to come with us."
1.10
"Not now Finn, we don’t have time for this. The grounders are coming and arguing among ourselves is exactly what they want. " I watched Finn’s face twist with anger when Daisy butted in. I just hoped he was smart enough not to say anything back to her. "I’m going for a walk. You guys are giving me a headache. Murphy better be alive when I get back."
"Seems I’ve got a fan club starting in camp Bellamy. Who knows, maybe she likes me more than you." Murphy said before spitting out blood.
"Go float yourself."
"Happily," he scoffed. "But I don’t imagine angel eyes being too happy when she finds out you’ve killed me." Finn stormed out of the drop-ship, mostly likely to go look for Daisy. "Looks like I’ve upset her boyfriend. My bad."
"They aren’t together," I snapped.
A look of amusement spread across his face. Being covered in blood only made him look more sinister. "Ohh... I see what it is."
"What are you talking about?" I mentally slapped myself for even entertaining Murphy. I should just kill him before he hurts anybody else.
"You care for her... and she’s in love with spacewalker."
I glared at him, "Shut the fuck up."
"Don’t worry Bellamy, I’ll keep it our little secret. For now."
"Bellamy, you're sick, okay? I'm just trying to help. Here."
If it wasn’t for the fact that I was so weak, I would have flung Murphy across the room by now. "When I get better, if you're still here--" I frowned when I saw Daisy walking towards us. The last time I saw her, she was throwing up blood. "Why are you up? You should be resting."
"I’ve got this one Murphy," she smiled and took the cup from his hand. "Thanks for saving my life and all that."
When she sat down next to me, I noticed the way Murphy looked at her before leaving. "What are you now? His best friend? After-"
“Murphy is an ass," she cut me off. "But he never hurt me, and I believe in second chances."
I took a drink of water before she started wiping some of the blood off my face. Daisy suddenly stopped and squinted at me, "something you want to talk about?"
"You and Finn-" I was cut off by a loud noise from outside the ship. I sat up as Clarke ran into the room, "They did it."
"I became death, a destroyer of worlds. It's Oppenheimer, the man who built the first-"
"I know who Oppenheimer is."
"Who cares about him?" Daisy shrugged. "I want to know what the hell caused the explosion."
"Raven..." I glanced down at her. "I thought O told you? Raven and Finn went to blow up the bridge to slow the grounders down."
It was worrying that Daisy couldn’t remember. I was honestly surprised she was still alive by this point. Between being stabbed and catching the virus, I’d say she was very lucky to be with us. Daisy must have noticed me staring because she was frowning, "I’m sure they are fine."
Looking back out of the drop-ship, I sighed. We would need to wait to see if the grounders got scared off or not.
1.11
"Like that star of the waning summer who, beyond all stars, rises bathed in the ocean stream to glitter in brilliance." I saw Daisy sitting on her own again and thought I’d give her some company. "I thought your post finished hours ago?"
"It did," she shrugged. "I like being out here at night. The sky looks beautiful from down here."
I never would have guessed she would have enjoyed stargazing, this girl was full of surprises. "I suppose it does."
"You suppose? It’s the most amazing sight in the world. I honestly have no idea why people used to use drugs to live in a distorted reality, when the earth is just-" I could not help but smile at the way she talked about the sky. It was the first real conversation we had that didn’t involve anybody else. "What?"
"Nothing," I shook my head, smiling. "I’ve just never heard you talk so passionately about something that wasn’t to do with your friends."
"You don’t know me very well, Blake."
I knew much more than she thought. The girl with the scarred face was much more interesting than I first thought. "You're a good shot. We have the same taste in books, and you don’t know who Oppenheimer is."
"Touché, I’m guessing you’ve read the Iliad a few times then?" I nodded, "How do you know we have the same taste in books?"
"Octavia has mentioned it,” I lied. I had heard Monty and Daisy talking one night about books they liked to read on the ark, but I wasn’t going to admit I listened in on their conversation.
I noticed her shaking slightly. She was cold. I removed my jacket and placed it on her back. "Thanks..."
"No problem."
Sitting with Daisy was nice. It didn’t feel awkward when there was silence between us, although I wouldn’t have minded talking a little more. But I didn’t want to force her to spend time with me.
"So this Oppenheimer, who is he?"
"Bellamy!" I heard Daisy call out. Before I had a chance to finish getting dressed, she barged into my tent. "Bellamy I-"
"Daisy, what the hell happened?" I asked her. I stepped out in front of her when she tried to walk away. She was covered in blood and had an arrow sticking out of her leg. "Daisy, what happened out there?"
"Grounders attacked us."
Raven stepped out of my tent, "Finn... is..."
“Myles got hit with a few arrows. I don’t know if he’s dead or not. They took Clarke and Finn.I have no idea where they went."
Fuck, fuck, fuck. I didn’t miss the look of disgust on Daisy’s face or the way she pulled away from me when I reached out to her. I had no reason to feel guilty, but I did.
"I never told him."
I stopped when I reached the outside of Daisy’s tent. "Told who what?"
"I lied to Finn. I told him I tripped and fell, I’m only telling you so you don’t mention it later on."
I stepped back. We wouldn’t be ready to leave for a couple of minutes, so I didn’t need to interrupt them just yet. My opinion of Daisy was always changing. I thought she would have been a spoiled brat when I met her, and assumed she got her scar in a pointless fight, but now... now I know she was a good person. She lied for Raven even when it caused her so much pain. She would do anything for her friends, including Octavia. Maybe Murphy was right, maybe I was starting to care for her.
1.13
"Bellamy!" I looked up to see my sister barging into my tent. She looked worried. "I haven’t seen Daisy!"
"Okay," I shrugged. "She’s probably in her tent or the drop-ship. You know she can’t go far until her leg heals."
"She’s not there! I’ve checked with Jasper and Finn. Neither of them have seen her all day. I’ve checked everywhere bell!"
Shit. This was bad. People didn’t just disappear from camp. Unless the grounders take them, or worse. "When did you last see her?"
"She was going to Wells' grave. She had found some flowers to put down."
"Octavia, go get Clarke and meet me at the drop-ship in two minutes."
We didn’t have time for a search and rescue with the grounders closing in on us, but I was sure as hell not leaving Daisy out there to die.

Fighting For... Echoes
Tumblr media
Summary: We won. Even though we were alone, with no options, we managed to do the impossible and save everyone from the city of light. But even though we won, we still lost. Those who were in the city lost their memories, only to gain them all back, and now they have to live with the things they’ve done. We thought it was over, that we were done fighting, that we had managed to survive. But Alie left with a warning, and it turns out, we’ll never be done fighting.
Warnings: The 100 Themes so blood and gore I guess
Pairings: Bellamy Blake x Reader, Clarke Griffin x Twin!Fem!Reader

Last Season:
“I, I really need you to wake up. I need you. I-I can’t do this without you, please.”
“I’m sorry. I am so sorry, for everything. And I’d really like to tell you in person, so please, wake up.”
“Thank you. I uh- I don’t think I ever said that. If it wasn’t for you, YN, she probably wouldn’t be here. I, thank you doesn’t really cover it.”
“Everyone was right. I would regret giving YN up. Jake was right.”
“I miss you. I think, I think I miss your eyes the most. It didn’t matter what time of day or night it was, your eyes, they always sparkled. I’d do anything just to see your eyes again.”
“They’re being hunted.” “By who?” “By everyone.”
“Clarke and YN are a symbol. Clarke’s known as Wanheda, the commander of death. YN is known as Wanhei, the queen of hell and death.”
“You left and you didn’t even tell me. I had to find out from Bellamy. You’re mad at Lexa for leaving you at Mount Weather, but it’s the same thing you did not even twelve hours later.”
“You once said that if the choice came down to me or Clarke, you’d pike. Is this you picking? You’re picking her.” “I’m not. I’m not picking.”
“If you do this w-” “What? We’re over? Is that what you were going to say? That if I stay, we’re over? That’s what we’ve come to? After everything? A fucking ultimatum?”
“You were never turned into a natblida. You have always been a natblida.”
“Banto! I thought you were dead.”
“I saw what you did! I saw you! You killed my friends! Yo- you’re a mon-monster. I h-h-hate yo-you.”
“They were my friends, and you killed them.”
“Yo- you left! You left me!” “You left first! You left after you said you wouldn’t! You promised me, made me promise you, always by your side, by my side, and you still left. And now? Now I don’t even recognize you.”
“Whe- where’s YN?” “Sh-she’s dead. Pike shot her.” “No.”
“Just say yes YN. Take the chip, take the chip and all your pain, all your suffering, will be gone.”
“I couldn’t save her just like I couldn’t save Banto. They’re both dead because of me. Raven was right, everything I touch dies.”
“You’re a nightblood.”
“Do you know how many people have died because of me? Finn, Axel, Lynx, Adria, Dax, Banto, Senda, Dad. they’re all dead because of me. If you put that in my head, there’d be a target on all of our heads and I couldn’t risk that! I couldn’t risk anyone dying because of me!”
“By my calculations, in less than six months, ninety six percent of the earth’s surface will be uninhabitable. Even for those born in space.”
“You’re not acting like someone who just saved the world.” “I don’t- because we didn’t. Not yet at least.”
Tumblr media
Now:
Walking out of the tower, my eyes widened as I looked around, Bellamy close behind me as I came to a stop, Clarke stopping beside me. Polis was once a place filled with joy, but now it was filled with despair. Dead bodies littered the ground, crying and screaming filling the area.
“How do we tell these people that the world is ending after everything they’ve been through?”
Bellamy shook his head, looking down at us both.
“We don’t, not until we know Allie was telling the truth.”
I made a face, shaking my head as I looked up at him.
“It was the truth.”
“Still, we keep it to ourselves until we know what we’re dealing with and how to stop it.”
Clarke huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. “You’re afraid of how people will react.”
Bellamy nodded, sighing.
“Yes, besides-”
He grabbed my hand, gently squeezing as he offered me a slight smile.
“I could use a break from keep you alive. You gave them back their pain YN, let’s not add to that by telling them they’re gonna die in six months.”
I squeezed his hand, offering him a small smile.
“Thank you, for keeping me alive.”
Bellamy went to say something when someone screamed, causing Clarke to run past us. I followed after her, hearing Bellamy mutter something as he followed behind us. Clarke was standing next to a woman who was kneeling beside a body when I caught up to her, stopping beside her. Bellamy made a face as he looked down at the grounder, slightly shaking his head.
“He didn’t fall.”
I looked down at the grounder, my eyes widening as I took a step forward, getting a clearer view of his face.
“He- he chased me in the city of light. Lexa, she killed him.”
Clarke looked over at me, her eyes widening as tears formed in her eyes.
“What?”
“Wanhei.”
The woman who was kneeling jumped up, glaring at me as she yelled.
“Yu dula disha.” (you did this)
I looked around as the grounders near us all turned towards us, glaring as they stood up, walking towards us.
“Wanhei! Wanhei!”
Bellamy grabbed my hand, tugging me closer to him as the grounders stepped closer to us. Bellamy looked around, walking forward. I grabbed Clarke’s hand in mine, pulling her behind me as we rushed through the opening of the crowd.
“Wanhei.”
I looked over, seeing a little girl holding something in her arms, her hair matted as she glared at me. I shook my head as I followed Bellamy, everyone spitting out my title as we came into a clearing, Kane and Abby rushing towards us. Clarke walked past me and Bellamy, stopping in front of them both.
“Good, you’re down.”
Bellamy turned me towards him, placing his hand under my chin.
“You’re okay?”
I nodded, offering him a small smile as I placed my hand over his.
“I’m okay.”
“The rover’s in the north woods.”
I turned, seeing Abby shoot Clarke a look, slightly shaking her head.
“What about the wounded?”
Bellamy shook his head, his hand falling to his side, taking my hand in his again.
“The grounders don’t want our help. Our people we treat at Arkadia.”
“Hello? Bellamy please, come in.”
Bellamy made a face as he grabbed the radio from his side, pressing the button.
“Raven, are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah. We’re all in one piece.”
“Good-”
Bellamy cast a look at me and Clarke, sighing.
“There’s something we need you to look into.”
“First, tell me how my friends are. Did everyone make it? YN?”
I smiled, taking the radio from Bellamy.
“I’m here, thanks to you.”
I took a deep breath, pressing the radio button.
“Raven, did Alie ever tell you why she created the city of light?”
“No, why?”
“Haihefa, en’s kiken! Osir gaf fisa in!”
My eyes widened as I looked over at Abby, translating.
“They need a doctor.”
Abby nodded, rushing past us before I turned, pulling my hand from Bellamy’s, following after her. I knelt down beside Abby, helping her roll him over, making a face.
“Roan?”
I looked over Abby, slightly shaking my head.
“He got shot helping Clarke.”
I watched as Abby checked his pulse, looking over at me.
“He’s not dead yet, but he’s close.”
She moved him slightly, shaking her head when she checked his back.
“No exit wound. We need to get the bullet out quickly.”
I nodded, looking over at Abby.
“I can help un-”
I froze when I felt pressure at my neck, glancing down and seeing a sword against my neck.
“Get away from our king.”
I lifted my hands up as Abby’s eyes widened, shaking her head.
“Wait, no please.”
The person behind me grabbed my arm, forcing me to stand. I slightly turned my head, seeing the grounder glaring at me as she pressed the sword into my neck as the guards from Arkadia rushed forward, aiming their guns. Kane grabbed Abby, moving her behind him as he looked at the grounder.
“You’re making a mistake, we’re part of the coalition.”
Abby moved beside Kane, her voice pleading.
“I can save him, but you have to let me.”
“We have our own healer.”
She turned, growling at the grounders near us.
“Lid haihefa-de gon bangeda seintaim kom ostof kom oso stedaun. Dula’m op nau!” (take the king to the embassy with the rest of our dead. Do it now!)
“Echo!”
I looked up when I saw the guards moving to the side, watching as Bellamy pushed his way through, Clarke rushing behind him. The grounder, Echo, stepped closer to me, the sword digging into my neck more, causing me to wince. Bellamy met my eyes, causing me to slightly shake my head as his glare hardened.
“Bell, don’t.”
I watched as Kane grabbed Bellamy’s arm, trying to pull him back as he yelled at Echo.
“Let her go, Echo! Let her go!”
Echo’s head moved over my shoulder, her head pressing into mine as she pulled me closer to her.
“Back off Bellamy.”
Clarke shook her head, stepping forward as she looked over at Echo.
“Your king is my friend. Let us help him.”
Echo looked her over before she looked down at me, making a face as she leaned closer to me.
“I saw you in the city of light. I know you destroyed it. Thank you for that.”
Her sword dropped to her side as she pushed me forward, Bellamy catching me as I stumbled, holding me to him as he glared at Echo. Echo shot him a look as she turned, yelling.
“Look around you! Skaikru did this to us. Because of them, Ontari, your rightful commander is dead!”
Echo turned, pointing her sword in my direction, Bellamy pulling me closer to him as he moved so he was standing in front of me.
“This imposter stole her flame!”
Kane shook his head, stepping forward.
“No! Wanhei saved us, all of us! Grounder and Skaikru!”
“There would’ve been nothing to save us from if not for you.”
Kane shook his head, glaring at Echo.
“Azgeda has no authority here.”
“We do now.”
Echo turned, yelling once more.
“In the name of King Roan, as rightful caretakers of the throne of the commanders, Polis is now under Azgeda rule!”
“Like hell it is!”
An ambassador stepped forward, glaring at Echo.
“Where’s your war chief, girl?”
“Our war chief is dead, ambassador. As a member of the Queen’s guard, command of the army has fallen to me, until the king awakens.”
“If he awakens.”
The ambassador turned, yelling.
“Until a new Commander can ascend, Polis is to be ruled by ambassadors of the Coalition.”
The ambassador turned, glaring at Echo.
“If Azgeda wants it, they must take it by force.”
Echo stepped forward, singing her sword out. My eyes widened as she cut the ambassador’s neck, blood pouring from the cut as the ambassador fell to the ground.
“Consider it taken. No Skaikru leaves this city.”
She lifted her sword, yelling.
“Gon Azgeda!” (for Azgeda!)
Echo glared at us before she turned, walking away. Bellamy squeezed my side, causing me to glance up at him.
“Looks like saving the world will have to wait.”
Tumblr media
Clarke was standing in front of me, slightly glaring as she crossed her arms over her chest.
“YN, let me at least make sure you're not injured.”
I huffed, shooting her a look.
“Say’s the one who’s bleeding.”
“And you’re bleeding too.”
I made a face, my arms dropping to my sides, Clarke grinning slightly as she rushed forward, tilting my head up, gently pressing her fingers to my neck. I bit back a wince, shooting her a look when she stepped back. She turned, grabbing something before she turned back towards me. I looked down at her, seeing a small wrap in her hand. I shook my head, jumping up.
“No, no way. You need to use that on literally anyone else, I’m fine.”
“You’re bleeding and your neck is bruised! This is all I have to stop the bleeding, so sit your butt back down and let me clean your cuts and wrap them.”
I glared at her, shaking my head.
“No.”
“Sit down.”
I jumped, turning around. Bellamy was standing behind me, his arms crossed over his chest.
“Bellamy, I’m fine.”
He shot me a look, stepping closer to me.
“Sit down, or I’ll sit you down myself.”
I huffed, tilting my head to the side.
“No you won’t.”
Bellamy closed the distance between us, leaning down and kissing me. I sighed, my eyes closing before I gasped.
“Bellamy!”
Bellamy shot me a grin as he stepped back, moving to stand beside me, nodding at Clarke. Clarke was trying to hide her smile as she knelt in front of me, lifting my head.
“I hate you both.”
Bellamy snorted, shaking his head as he squeezed my shoulder.
“No you don’t.”
“Wanhei-”
I turned my head to the side, seeing Indra standing a ways from us, Octavia behind her.
“Thank you.”
I nodded, seeing Kane walking towards Indra before Clarke forced my head back.
“Stay still.”
I huffed, letting Clarke finish cleaning my cuts and wrapping them before I stood up, shooting both her and Bellamy a look. Bellamy grinned slightly, grabbing my hand and pulling me to him.
“You’re okay?”
I nodded, looking up at him, crossing my arms over my chest.
“Yeah, and I’d still be okay without all this.”
I waved my hand in front of my neck, causing Bellamy to shake his head.
“No, because then you would’ve had to deal with me hovering because you’re injured.”
I scoffed, shaking my head as I rolled my eyes.
“Right, like you’re not going to hover anyway.”
“Guys.”
I turned, looking over at Clarke. Clarke nodded towards the others, causing me to grin slightly as we walked towards them.
“Well?”
Indra looked over at me, nodding slightly.
“When you destroyed the city of light, there were a thousand Azgeda warriors inside the city of Polis.”
Octavia huffed, crossing her arms over her chest.
“Good timing.”
“The only way to remove them is by force.”
“Then let’s remove them.”
Abby shook her head, looking over at Octavia.
“Slow down. You’re talking about a war.”
“Yes, Rockline, Flokru and Broadleaf will join Triku without question. We’ll still be short.’
“This is madness. We should be leaving with the others, while we still have time.”
Kane shook his head, sighing as he looked at Abby.
“They know where we live. If we run, they’ll follow.”
Kane turned towards Indra, looking down at her.
“There are eight other clans, how do we get them to join us?”
“I can do it, but I’ll need the flame.”
Clarke shook her head, clenching her jaw.
“No.”
Bellamy sighed, looking over at Clarke.
“Clarke, the clans will follow whoever has the flame.”
Clarke balled her hands, causing me to shake my head as I sighed.
“But Azgeda won’t.”
“Then we fight. That’s the point.”
I shook my head, sighing.
“No, it’s not. The point is, there’s no time for a fight. We have save Roan.”
Octavia made a face, tilting her head to the side.
“Save him? They won’t let us near him.”
Abby shook her head, looking over at me.
“Wait a second. What don’t we know?”
I sighed, Bellamy squeezing my hand.
“The reason Alie created the city of light.”
“Why?”
“Nuclear reactors inside power plants that survived the bombs are melting down. Radiation levels are already rising. If we can’t figure out a way to fix it, all of us will be dead in six months.”
“Alie told you this?”
I nodded, sighing.
“Yes.”
“And you believe her?”
“Ravens looking into it.”
I looked over at Kane, nodding slightly.
“I believe her.”
“Even if it’s true, that’s six months away. There are thousand ice nation warriors on the street who want to kill us today.”
“They won’t kill us.”
Octavia made a face as I looked over at Clarke, tilting my head to the side.
“How could you possibly know that?”
Clarke looked over at me, nodding.
“Because we’re gonna surrender.”
Tumblr media
I shook my head, crossing my arms over my chest.
“This is wrong.”
Bellamy sighed, looking over at me.
“I’ll be okay.”
I sighed, shaking my head as I looked over at Bellamy.
“You can’t say that. She’s the enemy Bell, her word means nothing, she can’t be trusted.”
“YN is right.”
We both turned, looking over at Indra.
“She’s part of the royal guard, spies. That’s why she’s not marked. Very dangerous, very loyal.”
Bellamy scoffed, shaking his head as he glanced down at my neck.
“Not to the people who saved her life.”
Kane sighed, stepping forward.
“Bellamy, I know how you feel about her but you can’t lose control. You offer them technology, guns, whatever it takes to keep her talking is that clear?”
Indra shook her head, looking over at Kane.
“I didn’t agree to give them guns.”
“Well, that’s probably because you’re not an idiot.”
I turned towards Murphy, shooting him a look.
“Shut up.”
Kane shook his head, turning towards Indra.
“It won’t get that far. Our objective is to buy time for Abby to save the king.”
Kane turned towards Murphy, looking over at him.
“And if you wanna help, grab a weapon, stand a post.”
Bellamy held his gun out towards Murphy, nodding slightly.
“Take mine.”
Murphy nodded, taking the gun from Bellamy. Bellamy turned towards me, stepping closer to me.
“I’ll be okay.”
I huffed, slightly shaking my head as I looked up at him.
“You better be. Because if anything happens to you, just remember who you’re dating.”
Bellamy grinned, nodding as he pressed a quick kiss to my lips before he walked past me. I turned back towards Kane, tilting my head to the side.
“Well, are you coming or not?”
Tumblr media
Bellamy stopped in front of Echo, as we all stopped a ways behind him.
“Before you say anything, remember, I saved your life by taking you out of Mount Weather. I was following orders, Bellamy.”
“I wish it was that easy.”
“We do what we do for our people. You slaughter us, we slaughter you. That all went away in the city of light, but it’s back now, so here we are.”
Echo looked past Bellamy, meeting my glare before she looked back at Bellamy.
“What are the terms of your surrender?”
Bellamy clenched his jaw, glaring at Echo.
“We recognize ice nation rule, and you honor Lexa’s coalition, including the 13th clan.”
“No.”
“We’ll give you guns and show you how to use them.”
Echo glanced back at us, nodding slightly.
“Triku accepts this?”
“They’re not happy about it.”
“Not much they can do now, though, is there, without an army.”
I clenched my jaw, looking down at the ground, flashes of that night passing by.
“You were there.”
I shook my head, looking back at Echo and Bellamy.
“Then you know why everyone hates Skaikru and why we can never accept your terms.”
“The alternative is war. Is that what you want?”
“No one wants war. Lay down your guns, and we’ll let your children live. I’ll give you time to decide.”
Echo turned, Bellamy shaking his head as he stepped forward, grabbing her arm.
“I wasn’t done talking.”
Echo turned, grabbing Bellamy and forcing him to the ground, scoffing.
“You are now.”
My eyes widened as she held her sword to his neck, shaking my head as I stepped forward, glaring at Echo.
“If you kill him, you won’t have to worry about Skaikru coming after you Echo-”
Echo clenched her jaw, glaring as she cut me off.
“Guns on the ground, or he dies.”
“We disarm, we’re done.”
“You’ll have to worry about me.”
“Abby will come through. Do what she says.”
Kane grabbed my arm, pulling me back.
“Guns on the ground, now.”
As soon as everyone lowered their weapons, we were restrained. Echo walked towards me, grinning down at me.
“So much for the powerful Wanhei.”
I huffed, leaning back, slamming my head into Echo’s face. She groaned, stepping back, her hand flying up to her nose, blood dripping between her fingers as she stared at me. I grinned, tilting my head to the side.
“So much for the spy.”
She huffed, slamming her head into mine. I groaned, pain shooting through my face, as I lightly shook my head, feeling the blood pouring from my nose. Echo’s eyes widened slightly, murmuring to herself before she grabbed my arm from the grounder behind me, pushing me forward. Rounding the corner, my eyes widened when I saw Clarke and Octavia being forced to their knees, Abby already kneeling as Echo yelled, throwing me to a grounder who grabbed my arms.
“Emo don’s trana slip haihefa daun! Chek em au!” (they were trying to kill the king! Check him)
Clarke shook her head, looking over at Echo as she stalked towards her.
“No, we were trying to save him!”
I shook my head, yelling.
“Don’t touch her Echo!”
Echo unsheathed her sword, glaring at Clarke as I started to thrash around in the grounders arms.
“If you touch her I’ll kill you! You hear me Echo? I’ll kill you!”
The grounder hit me in the back of the head, causing me to fall forward. I groaned, trying to push myself up when the grounder placed their knee on my back, holding my head down.
“Shof op!” (quiet)
I tried to push the grounder off me, watching as Echo lifted her sword, bringing it down. I trashed harder, tears welling in my eyes.
“I’ll kill you Echo!”
“Wait.”
Everything seemed to stop as Roan coughed, sitting up from the bed. He glanced around the room, Clarke looking over at him.
“Roan, help us. Tell them we’re friends.”
Roan stood up, coughing as he looked up.
“Where is Ontari?”
“Dead, sire. Killed by them.”
Clarke shook her head, watching Roan.
“We couldn’t save her, but we did what we came here to do. Now I need you to honor your promise to protect my people.”
“That was before your people shot me and killed my commander.”
Octavia scoffed, glaring at Roan.
“We just saved your dam life.”
Echo walked towards Roan, stopping beside him, speaking too low for me to catch before Roan yelled.
“Teik emo we!” (take them away)
The grounders were quick to follow, grabbing the others and pulling them out of the room. The grounder who was on top of me got off when they pulled Abby out of the room, dragging me up. Echo walked towards me, stopping in front of me, slightly leaning down.
“I know what you are, demon.”
I scoffed, glaring up at her.
“It’s Wanhei to you.”
Echo glared at me, and in a quick movement she slammed the hilt of her dagger into my face, knocking me out.
Tumblr media
“YN, come on, hey, wake up. YN!” I groaned, blinking too.
“YN?”
I huffed, nodding slightly.
“Yeah?”
“Are you okay?”
I looked around, slightly making a face. Clarke and Abby were chained to the floor, Bellamy and Kane chained to the wall not far from them. I was chained to a wall by myself, further away from them.
“My head hurts.”
Abby looked over at Clarke, slightly shaking her head.
“She could have a concussion.”
“Considering everything that she’s been through today, that’s probably the least of it.”
I groaned, my head rolling to the side.
“Hey, hey, no YN come on, you need to stay awake.”
“M’not asleep.”
Bellamy huffed, shaking his head.
“Not yet your not. Let’s just keep it that way, yeah?”
“M’kay.”
I looked up when the cell door was opened, a group of grounders walking in.
“Wanheda, on your feet!”
Clarke looked up at the grounders who walked towards her, shaking her head.
“Where’s the king? Hey, I need to see Roan.”
Echo stepped forward, glancing around the room.
“Nou em. Wanhei.” (not her)
The grounders nodded, dropping Clarke’s chains. They walked towards me, glaring as they lifted a bag, placing it over my head.
“Hey!”
The chains holding my arms up were released, causing my arms to drop to my sides before they pulled behind my back.
“No!”
“Echo! Echo, listen to me!”
I was dragged out of the cell, hearing the door slam shut.
“Echo!”
Tumblr media
“Wanhei, sire.”
The bag was pulled off my head, causing me huff as I looked around meeting Roan’s gaze.
“Get out.”
Echo looked like she wanted to say something before she turned, walking out of the room. Roan looked me over, studying me as he walked towards me.
“Echo told me something about you.”
I scoffed, tilting my head to the side.
“Glad to know someone’s been thinking about me.”
Roan grinned, stopping in front of me.
“I wonder-”
He moved his hand, the glint from the dagger catching my eye as he lifted it.
“If what she told me is true.”
I made a face, trying to move away when he grabbed my face, pressing the dagger to my cheek. I winced, Roan’s eyes widening as blood dripped down from the cut.
“Natblida.”
Tumblr media
I was led back down to the cells, a set of keys in my hands.
“YN?”
The grounder who led me to the cells opened the door, letting me walk past them.
“What happened?”
I knelt in front of Clarke, unlocking her chains.
“YN?”
I sighed, looking up at her.
“Roan knows about Praimfaya. I promised him I’d find a plan to save all of our people.”
I turned towards Abby, undoing her chains, handing her the keys as I helped Clarke stand.
“That’s not all, is it?”
I sighed, shaking my head.
“I promised him I’d give him the flame.”
Clarke stepped back, shaking her head, her eyes wide.
“What? How could you?! It wasn’t yours to give!”
I huffed, looking up at her.
“Maybe not, but it’s the reason we’re all still alive. I’m sorry Clarke, but it was the only way.”
When Bellamy was free he rushed to me, turning me towards him, looking me over.
“Are you okay?”
He made a face when he saw the cut on my face, reaching up, his fingers just grazing the cut.
“What happened?”
“Roan knows I’m a natblida.”
Tumblr media
Roan stood on the stage in the center of Polis, Echo standing not far behind him. He wore a crown made of bones, gripping the hilt of his sword.
“I know you’ve all come here for an execution, but no one else will die here today. The city of light has fallen, and there is no commander left to rule us. Until another nightblood ascends, I- King Roan of Azgeda, eldest son of Nia, grandson of Theo, am caretaker of the throne and keeper of the flame.”
Roan held the flame up, murmurs erupting.
“Kaina bandragen dison bilaik?” (your a king, not a priest! This is blasphemy!)
“Nou bandgragen! Reinseden!”(not blasphemy. order!)
Roan glared at the crowd, standing taller.
“Until another ascends, Azgeda honors and will defend the coalition of the last true Commander, Lexa Kom Trikru, including the 13th clan. Let it be known that an attack against Skaikru is an attack against us all.”
The people started to murmur again as Roan turned, walking off the stage. We were led to the gates, our weapons returned to us when I saw Echo walking towards us. Bellamy glared as he walked towards her, crossing his arms over his chest as she stopped in front of him. She held out a parcel, nodding.
“From your king.”
She flipped it open, revealing an amulet.
“With this, you’ll be safe in any of our lands.”
She folded the parcel back, handing it to Bellamy. She looked up at him, sighing slightly.
“You think we’ll ever be able to trust each other again?”
Bellamy scoffed, shaking his head.
“Doubt it.”
“Welcome back to the coalition.”
Bellamy turned, walking back towards us.
“Time to go.”
Kane looked between us, nodding.
“We’ll do our best to keep the king on his throne.”
“We’ll find a way to beat the radiation.”
Octavia huffed, tilting her head to the side.
“If either of you screw this up, we die. No pressure.”
I looked up, shaking my head.
“It’s getting dark. Let’s do this.”
Abby hugged Clarke, both of them murmuring to each other. I looked over at Octavia, stepping towards her and hugging her.
“You did what you had to do. Pike got what he deserved.”
Octavia nodded, offering me a tight smile as I stepped back. I looked up when I saw movement from my side, seeing Abby hovering. She looked like she wanted to say something, and I tried to say something instead, but all I got was flashes of her placing the rope over my neck. I lightly shook my head, looking over at Kane, seeing him stepping back from Bellamy, missing Abby’s crestfallen look. I gave Kane a quick hug, offering him a small smile as he stepped back. Bellamy grabbed my hand, gently squeezing as we followed the guards out of Polis. Bellamy looked down at me, glancing over at Clarke.
“Okay princesses, what now.”
I snorted, intertwining our fingers, shaking my head.
“That’s not my name.”
Clarke grinned, shaking her head as she met my gaze.
“Now we survive.”

The first thing you realize is that Miller saved all of your lives with his quick thinking. You turn and meet his gaze, grateful that he was fast enough to get the bomb behind one of the solid doors. “Thank you.”
He nods in acknowledgment, before another soft rumble settles through the room, and the door the bomb is behind starts to groan softly. Which brings you to the second realization, that in saving all of your lives, Miller possibly doomed the others. Because the door he threw the bomb behind is the door that leads to the rest of the bunker. It’s the door that leads to the stone, in the rec room with Jackson, Murphy, Emori, and Raven.
Miller immediately pries the door in question off the hinges with one of the spears from the arena, revealing a doorway of stacked concrete, confirming what you already knew. The others are trapped down below, and the rest of you are trapped up here. You have access to the outside, but no way to reach the stone or the rest of your friends. You turn to look at Clarke, seeking out her counsel, despite still being angry with her. She gives you a desperate look, before a look of realization passes over her face. “We can still get to Madi.”
She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a small vial, three blue pills inside. You recognize them immediately as nano trackers, likely brought over by Sheidheda, the same ones Cadogan used to leave the bunker. Clarke unscrews the bottle and immediately dumps one out, preparing to swallow it, but Gaia closes the space between them and stops her hand from dropping the pill into her mouth. “Clarke, we have to think this through.”
“Gaia's right. Only the second pill’s for me.” Clarke looks over at you in surprise, not expecting you to take her side after what she did. But she killed Bellamy to protect Madi, and if something happens to Madi, then Bellamy and Gabriel died for nothing. All of it was for nothing. You refuse to let their deaths be in vain, which is why you hold your hand out for one of the pills, and Clarke quickly passes one to you. Behind you, Octavia speaks up, moving closer to you and Clarke. “We're gonna need an inside man.”
You both understand her statement for what it is: an offer to go with the two of you, so Clarke hands Octavia the third and final pill. All of you swallow them, one after the next, Octavia the last to do so, and you stand staring at each other, waiting to instantly disappear the way that Cadogan did.
Except, you don’t.
The three of you stay firmly in place, looking at each other in absolute confusion. “Cadogan disappeared right away.”
“Why isn't this working?”
Hope answers you and Clarke both, shrugging a little as she does. “Maybe somebody has to be waiting in Bardo to pull you through.”
A strange look passes over Clarke’s face, half anger, half amusement, before settling into one of determination. She crosses the room in three strides, stopping at the door to the rest of the bunker, clamping her hands down on the first piece of stone she sees. She pulls, letting out a cry of effort as she does, the concrete moving nowhere. She tries again, her hands slipping off the stone, likely scratching her the way they did when the two of you tried to dig to this very same bunker, and you shake your head before moving towards her. “Clarke.”
She doesn’t turn around, determinedly yanking at the stones and sliding off them, making no progress, going nowhere, but still trying nonetheless. “We have to get to Madi! Cadogan could be digging into her brain right now.”
You reach out for her, grabbing her arm and spinning her towards you. “Clarke! We spent days trying to dig our way to the bunker before we nearly died in that collapse, and this is no different. You’re gonna dislodge a stone and get yourself killed if you keep this up, and you’re no use to Madi if you’re dead.”
She sets her jaw, and you think she’s about to start a fight with you before her eyes drop and her gaze softens. “Your shoulder.”
You peer down at your shoulder and the blood staining your shirt, the wound from Sheidheda still bleeding, the pain forgotten to you in the chaos of everything that’s happened since then. “It’s nothing.”
You try to shrug her off, stepping away from her, not wanting her comfort or her help, but she reaches out to grab your arm, her hand closing around one of the cuts on your forearm. She can feel the wetness on her hand as soon as she grabs you, and she immediately lets go of you and looks at you in alarm. “La lune!”
She grabs your hand and turns your arm over, eyes scanning the cuts on both of your forearms. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“I honestly can't feel it. Adrenaline and all that.”
“Come here.” She tries to pull you to the side, and you don’t budge at first, but she gives you one of those looks that lets you know this is not negotiable, because your own words apply to you in this moment. You’re no good to Madi dead, and bleeding to death because you’re mad at Clarke is not the way to go. So when she tugs you to the side a second time, you let her, and she motions for you to sit across from her as she tears strips of cloth from the bottom of her shirt. The tension between the two of you temporarily melts away as she ties makeshift bandages around your forearms and shoulder, your access to real bandages nonexistent. You sit quietly as she fixes you up the best she can, before she finally breaks the silence to whisper, “I’m sorry about Bellamy, I swear I am. I didn’t want to do it, but I had to, to protect Madi. You can hate me forever, la lune, I’ll understand.”
You sit in silence for a second, weighing her words, and you can tell from the anguish in her voice that she means it. But that doesn't erase all of your feelings instantly, as much as you wish it did. You wish you could erase the hurt and the grief and the anger, but you can’t. It’s still raw and open, weighing on you at every moment. “Clarke, you’re my shining star. You’re a part of me. I understand why you did what you did, and I understand why you feel like it was the only choice. But that doesn't change the fact that Bellamy is dead and you pulled the trigger. I don't hate you, I don't think I ever could, but I don't forgive you either, at least not yet. Hopefully one day I’ll forgive you and we can move past this, but right now, I'm too damn hurt and angry.”
She nods her head, looking up at you with tears in her eyes. “I understand. If it helps, I regret it. I don't think I’d do it again, especially if I knew that Madi was just gonna turn herself in despite everything.”
You say nothing for a long second, your voice a soft whisper, cracking with emotion when you say, “I just wish I could have said goodbye. I gave him back the ring, you know, and he died thinking I didn't love him, but I do. I love him with my whole heart, my entire being. He’s my soulmate, and he died thinking that I hate him.”
You feel your bottom lip quiver before tears start to spill down your face, and you see tears in Clarke’s eyes before she pulls you in for a hug, holding you as you cry for Bellamy. And in this moment, you allow yourself to forget what happened to him, focusing only on the fact that he’s gone. You allow your twin to comfort you, hold you close, softly humming Clair de lune in your ear until you start to calm down again. And even after the two of you break apart, you stay side by side, unable to leave each other’s side, even now, when everything between you is tense and weird.
Indra is the first to break the silence and tension hanging over the room. “We should discuss the plan. Clarke, la lune, and Octavia bring us over. We get Madi and kill their leader.”
Gaia jumps down from the perch she was on, walking towards her mother. “Killing Cadogan won't change anything.”
“He can't chase us if he's dead.”
She shakes her head at Indra trying to get her to understand. “You've seen faith, Mother. You kill the Commander, another takes her place. You kill the Fleimkepa, another takes his place. Faith doesn't just die, it gets carried forward. Cadogan's people are no different.”
Miller asks the question that you’re all beginning to wonder. “Then how does this end?”
“Bellamy asked that question, too.” You all look towards Octavia, the mood sobering even further at the mention of Bellamy. “One Last War, and then we transcend and we become the light.”
Across the room, Jordan breaks his silence. “It's a beautiful idea, but fighting is not how we get there. War is a failure of everything. Which is why it's a test, not a war.”
“Test, war, test, war. The disciples have been studying the Bardo texts for over 1,000 years. You really think you know better?”
Jordan turns to Hope, answering her question with complete confidence. “Yes. And it's not just that I read some old books, I felt it. That red sun toxin showed me something. I couldn't figure it out, but I knew it was important, and then I read the Bardo texts, and it hit me... the next step in human evolution.”
You can feel Clarke going more restless with each passing second, until she abruptly stands and snaps, “Nonsense.”
Everyone turns to face her after the outburst, but she avoids everyone’s eyes as she stalks up the ramp towards the exit. “All that matters now is saving Madi and killing Cadogan. There's no Last War or test. Bellamy's dead because he believed that crap, and I've heard enough!”
You look after her retreating figure, wondering if you should go after her. Everything between the two of you is weird, and your anger is telling you to stay, bristling at the casual way she mentioned Bellamy’s death. But your softer side, the part of you that’s connected to her, it’s telling you to go after her, comfort her, despite what she did. Gaia seems to sense your conflict, because she steps towards you with a smile and whispers, “I got it.”
You nod in thanks, relieved that you don’t have to decide, before sitting back down and beginning the excruciating process of waiting once more. You’re quickly realizing that there’s nothing you hate more than waiting: waiting to fight, waiting to escape, waiting to die. Because waiting is usually silent, and that silence easily morphs into your regrets, and fears, and worries. It’s when you think about everything you've done wrong and everything you haven't yet gotten the chance to do. There’s time to think of who you’ve killed and who you’ve lost, which opens up the door to the painful memories that usually stay locked deep in your brain, in that place you try to keep hidden from everyone, including yourself.
Waiting is suffocating, and in the time you’ve spent on Earth, Sanctum, Skyring, and Bardo, you’ve already done too much of it.
You stand, starting to pace around the rotunda, the way Bellamy used to pace when he first got back from space. The same habit he turned to when he had to wait. And as your feet move you around the room in continuous circles, you start to understand. It’s rhythmic, the way your feet carry you across the floor, boots thudding softly against the metal, and each time you walk past Hope, the thuds stutter, your footsteps softened by an uneven spot on the floor.
As you pace around the room, you force your mind to stay on the safe topics. The ones that don't involve painful memories or the ghosts that seem to stalk you. Instead, you keep things light, reciting constellations and medicinal plants, anything to keep your mind occupied. A few times you slip up, your thoughts drifting to what Bellamy was thinking in his final moments, as he bled out on Sanctum alone. You start to worry about Madi and what she’s going through without you, cursing yourself for not getting to her sooner and stopping her from leaving. You think about Gabriel and his final words to you, what they meant... You shake your head, clearing the spiral of memories and grief, shifting back to your safe topics, ignoring the thoughts that are begging to pull you down.
You only pause your pacing once, when Clarke and Gaia come out of the decontamination room and take up a spot on the ramp, sitting across from each other cross legged, Gaia talking to your twin softly. You resume your pacing, glancing at them every few minutes, realizing that Gaia must be teaching Clarke to calm her mind the way she taught Madi to.
But Clarke’s peace is short lived, and within minutes she’s standing, her voice rising as she glares down at Gaia. “How do you expect me to focus right now when my daughter is out there, probably being tortured right now?”
“You think I don't know that?” Gaia stands abruptly, and you pause your pacing to watch them. She gives Clarke an anguished look, her voice dropping slightly when she adds, “I love her too, Clarke.”
A look of sympathy passes over Clarke’s face before she reaches out and pulls the former Flamekeeper into a hug. “I know, I know, I'm sorry.”
You’re about to start pacing again, the conflict seemingly resolved, when you catch a glimpse of green around Clarke. She pulls away from Gaia, her hands starting to disappear, and she turns to look at you with a smile. “It's working.”
Clarke disappears in a haze of emerald, leaving you to turn and look at Octavia, “I’m next.”
Miller yells out to you, “La lune, catch!”
You turn towards him, catching the pistol he tosses your way, seconds before you too fade away from the bunker. All around you, the world is green, bright and hazy, until it fades into a darker hue. It takes a second for you to realize that you’re not in the Stone Room, but in the oxygen farm, surrounded by an army of disciples, all of them pointing weapons right at you and Clarke. You raise the pistol that Miller tossed to you, you and Clarke aiming back at the disciples, and Octavia appears a second later, instantly lifting her rifle.
A disciple near the font of the armed group looks towards you and loudly yells, “Drop your weapons! Hands in the air!”
Octavia drops her weapon first, lifting her hands in surrender, and you and Clarke exchange a look before you both follow suit. Despite not wanting to surrender to the disciples, you both know you have no choice, and if you choose to take a stand here, it will only result in the three of you ending up dead. So you both drop your weapons and lift your hands in the air, following the commands of the disciples as they close in on you. The three of you are restrained and led past the waiting army, through the oxygen farm and the halls of Bardo until you’re delivered to a cell.
They release all three of you in one room, and you stand there for a minute, stunned by what just happened. “Why did we show up in the oxygen farm?”
Clarke shakes her head, “I don't know. But they’re preparing for a war, which means they have Madi and she’s in trouble.”
She plops down onto the nearest bed in frustration, dropping her head into her hands before she starts to softly cry. Octavia sits down beside her, offering her comfort, the moment soon overshadowed by someone singing. And not just someone, Sheidheda. He sings the Grounder Anthem, “Take a Life With Me”, over and over on a loop, until there is no sadness left in your prison cell, only frustration.
You take up pacing again as nothing you do drowns out the awful, annoying sound, which continues repeatedly, until you’re sure you’re about to lose your mind. You can sense Clarke growing tense too, her body starting to fidget more and more until she finally yells out, “Shut up!”
But Sheidheda doesn't shut up, he just keeps singing without a care in the world. Clarke looks at you with worry and frustration, her eyes wide, her nerves frazzled. “We did all that just to end up back here, locked up in a cell next to Sheidheda.”
“We'll get Madi back.” You don’t say anything beyond that, your anger at her now back in full force now that you’re back in Bardo, but you do let out a sigh, frustrated that your emotions are so all over the place. You wonder what Anders would say about you now, watching you pace the room like a caged animal, angry and frustrated and ready to destroy Bardo if you have to.
You’re pulled back to the present by Clarke sighing loudly, looking doubtful about your assurance of finding Madi, which Octavia notices. She puts a hand on Clarke’s knee, whose gaze shifts over to the younger Blake. “Think about it: someone brought us here. That means we have help on the inside, it's just a matter of time.”
Clarke nods, contemplating her words, realizing the truth to them, and she’s quiet for a moment before whispering, “Thank you.”
Something about her tone makes you pause, and you stop in front of her as Clarke’s gaze shifts between you and Octavia. “Both of you. Thank you for offering to come.”
Octavia answers first, “I told you I get it now, what she means to you. It's what Hope means to me.”
“It's what we meant to Bellamy.” Clarke and Octavia look towards you, the mood dampening the way it does when you all remember that Bellamy is gone, for real this time. You’re surprised you even said it, and you have to fight against the tears that are threatening to rise, glancing between the two women you call sister. “We were everything to him.”
Octavia whispers, “That's how I'll remember him.”
Clarke reaches out to grab your hand and you let her, before she reaches for Octavia’s hand too, the three of you sitting together as a small human chain, mourning the loss of Bellamy. And as the three of you mourn, tears streaming down your faces, the door to your cell opens. Clarke and Octavia stand beside you and turn to see Levitt hovering near the entrance, smiling at Octavia. She moves towards him, and as the pair hugs, you get a flash of disappointment. Part of you hoped that it would be Bellamy here to save you, despite seeing his body bleeding out on the palace floor in Sanctum. Something you remind yourself of as Clarke mutters, “Hate to interrupt, but we need to get to Madi. What’s the plan?”
Levitt and Octavia pull apart, and he looks between the three of you, growing anxious. “I don't know. Isn't this your guys' specialty? How would you do it?”
Octavia thinks for a second and then says, “Use the suits, go invisible.”
“No, that won't work. Too many disciples with helmets around.”
Clarke shrugs, “Then we come in hot, and we take them all out.”
You shake your head, instantly disagreeing. If the disciples are preparing for a war, then Clarke’s right. Madi is in danger now. You have no doubt that you, Clarke, and Octavia could come in and take the disciples out with ease, but how long will that give you? Five minutes? Ten? It’s loud and it’s messy, and it’ll put a target on your backs. You need a distraction, something to pull the disciples away from M-Cap, giving the four of you time to find Madi and get her to safety. You search your brain for a different plan, struggling to come up with anything, thanks to Sheidheda’s obnoxious singing.
And that’s when it comes to you.
You look between the three of them, smiling, pointing to the room next door. “Or we create a distraction.”
Realization passes over each of their faces, and you know you’re all on the same page. “Good idea.”
Levitt heads to the door of your cell and reaches for a bag that he left behind, tossing each of you a gun before leading you from your room and to the next cell over. He quickly pulls the door scanner from the wall, attaching a few wires to a tablet from his bag and typing in a code. He removes the tablet and tucks it away before reattaching the scanner and pushing the button. The door to Sheidheda’s cell slides open, and you, Clarke, and Octavia go in weapons hot, aiming directly at the man in the room. He stops singing when he hears your entrance, turning slowly to look at the three of you glaring in anger, Levitt waiting just behind you. “Well, since no one's shooting, I suppose that means you need me.”
He laughs a little and stands to his feet, musing, “What would Madi think?”
Clarke lowers her gun and lunges at him, intending to hit him, but you reach out and grab her arm to stop her. “Clarke!”
Sheidheda laughs, looking you over, taking in your bandages and the blood that’s still on your face, a mix of Gabriel’s and your own. “I got the doctor good, didn't I? Tell me, did he make it?”
And this time, it’s your turn to lunge, dropping Clarke’s arm and reaching for the man, seeing only red, your anger raw with grief. But Octavia grabs you, pulling you back, yelling out, “That’s enough, all of you! We need to stop Cadogan.”
You take a breath, calming yourself, aware that you need the man in front of you to save your niece and stop Cadogan from winning. Which means, for now, you’ll play alongside him. But if he makes it out of here and you get the chance, you’ll kill him for what he did to Gabriel and Madi.
Sheidheda shrugs at Octavia’s words, growling a little, “I tried, and for my troubles, they locked me up here.”
Clarke doesn't care, blowing past his complaint to snap, “Here's the deal. I'd love to kill you, but you're right, we need you. We set you loose, and you draw the disciples away from M-Cap.”
“I'm not some petty distraction. I'm the high king of Sanctum.”
You roll your eyes, “Okay, Your Highness. Then we walk out of here and lock the door behind us.”
He sneers at you, giving you an annoyed smile. “Hmm, distraction it is.”
You motion towards the door with your gun. “Then let’s go.”
Levitt leads the way to M-Cap, the rest of you keeping your guns trained on Sheidheda, but you stop when you reach the last few hallways to your destination. You can hear people nearby, likely standing guard or prepping for the war, and you motion towards Sheidheda as you all duck out of sight. He smiles before he steps away, and you can hear the moment he catches sight of the disciples. “Attention, sheep. I'm here to kill your Shepherd.”
You can hear one of the guards yelling commands, followed immediately by the sounds of fighting. Gunshots ring out in the air, accented by screams of pain, but you all stay hidden in a nearby corridor until the sounds grow fainter and fainter, Sheidheda clearing the halls ahead of you. Once you hear no more fighting, you tentatively slip from your hiding spot and walk down the hall, rounding the corner to find blood splashed along the walls and dead bodies scattered everywhere. You shake your head at the violent scene in front of you, thinking that surely Sheidheda didn’t need to be so brutal. Still, he got the job done, because there’s no one in sight to stop your approach.
Unfortunately, there is also no sign of Sheidheda. “He's not here?”
Clarke turns to look back at Octavia. “We knew that was a possibility, we'll deal with Sheidheda later.”
Levitt looks around at the bodies littering the floor, carefully stepping around dark red puddles of blood, his voice horrified when he whispers, “I grew up with these people.”
“That's war, Levitt.” Octavia turns to glance at him, offering him no sympathy for the horror he’s experiencing. “It looks exciting in hologram mode, but this is the reality.”
Clarke shakes her head, grabbing a few grenades as she walks past the bodies, barely glancing back at the couple as she continues on her way. “Come on. Right now, all that matters is getting to Madi.”
You all follow her down the halls towards M-Cap, your guns raised, ready for a fight with each new hallway you turn down. But you find no one, this section of Bardo completely empty, everyone gone in pursuit of Sheidheda. “Looks like our diversion worked.”
As you reach the door to M-Cap, Clarke nods towards it. “Levitt, you go in first. They won't see you as a threat.”
He nods, and Octavia quickly pushes the button to the room, and as the door slides open, you all get into position and step inside behind Levitt. The first thing you notice is that someone is humming, the tune comforting and familiar. The second thing you notice is Madi, sprawled out in the M-Cap chair, someone’s arms around her. And when that someone looks up, you swear you’re dreaming.
Because it looks like Bellamy.
“Bellamy?” You freeze in place, the gun in your hand clattering to the floor as you stare at him in shock. He looks up at all of you, his expression surprised, clearly not expecting to see you here. He’s out of the white robes and into a white top and bottom combo, the same thing that Gabriel used to wear, and you’re relieved to see no blood on his clothes. He looks a little tired, and his curly hair is unruly, flopped all over the place, but he looks fine. Healthy even, no sign that he was recently dead.
Clarke seemingly breezes past the fact that Bellamy is alive and well, her gaze solely focused on Madi, and he releases his hold on her to allow Clarke the room to take over. He stands, looking at you closely, his expression blank for a moment, and you worry that he’s even more brainwashed than the last time you saw him. But then his expression morphs into one of relief, and he steps around the M-Cap chair to walk towards you. “La lune.”
His voice is warm and thick with affection and emotion, and you start to run towards him, tears welling up in your eyes as he jogs towards you. He meets you halfway across the room, scooping you up in his arms and spinning you once, before putting your feet firmly back on the ground, his arms holding you tight. He tucks his head into the crook of your neck, and you can hear him crying as he whispers, “I’m sorry, I’m so fucking sorry. I should have never betrayed you. I should’ve listened to you.”
“It’s okay, it’s okay.” You pull away to look at him, tears running down his face and your own, and you whisper, “I love you. Oh my god, I love you, and I'm sorry I left you. I didn't want to, but-”
He cuts you off, “No, you were right to leave me. And you were right about Cadogan.”
It’s like the words remind him of something, and he turns to look at the others. “Levitt, something is wrong with Madi. Cadogan did something to her.”
You all turn to look at him in shock. “What?”
Levitt immediately crosses the room to grab the glasses that the disciples use for M-Cap, and for the first time since grabbing her, Clarke pulls away from Madi, realizing that Bellamy’s right, something is wrong with her. You miss the reunion between the Blake siblings as you rush over to your niece, though you can hear them quietly talking behind you. You look down at Madi in horror, catching onto what Bellamy meant. Madi’s eyes are open, but her expression and her eyes are blank, no sign of recognition in either of them. Her heartbeat is strong, but her body is limp, moving only when one of you moves her.
Clarke looks at you with tears in her eyes, and you feel tears in your own, both of you starting to cry as Clarke turns her teary expression back to Madi. “Madi, look at me. Say something. Please say something.”
Madi remains frozen, and Clarke lets out a panicked yell, “Say something!”
But still, Madi doesn't move, and Clarke pulls her into her arms, holding her tight as she sobs, rocking her back and forth, “Oh, my baby. My baby. My baby.”
You start to cry harder, not wanting to hear or see Clarke’s heartbreak, not wanting to see Madi’s blank expression, but you can't look away. You don't look away when you feel Bellamy slide up beside you, slipping his hand into your own, you don't look away when you hear Octavia and Levitt talking quietly behind you. You keep your eyes on your little sun and your shining star, unable to do anything other than cry at the scene before you.
Clarke lays Madi back down, before turning her teary face back to you, her eyes landing on Bellamy in the process.  You see surprise pass over her face, meaning she really didn't register his presence when you all stepped into the room. But her surprise turns to anger as she glares at him, “What happened? What did he do to her?”
Bellamy shakes his head, looking just as upset as the rest of you, tears streaming down his face too. “I don’t know. When I heard she was here, I came looking for her immediately. She was like this when I found her. Cadogan was already gone.”
“You said you’d keep her safe!”
Bellamy stutters a little, his voice thick with emotion. “I tried, Clarke, but I woke up in a hospital bed. I left as soon as I heard she was here, but it must have been hours after her arrival by that point.”
Clarke’s expression turns horrified as she takes in the weight of his words. He got to her as soon as he could to try to help her. But the reason it took him so long to reach her is because he was in a hospital bed. Put there by Clarke. You reach out for her, squeezing her shoulder to stop her train of thought. “Hey, hey, hey, this is not your fault. This is Cadogan’s fault.”
Bellamy whispers, “You couldn't have known.”
And though he doesn't outright say it, you know that his words are forgiveness. Bellamy offers his forgiveness to Clarke for shooting him, her anguish over Madi punishment enough. He offers her the olive branch, and it’s up to her to take it. Thankfully, she does, looking at Bellamy with genuine regret. “I shouldn't have shot you, Bellamy. I panicked, and didn't know what to do.”
“No, you were right to. I don't blame you for shooting me, it was part of a wake up call for me. La lune giving me back her ring, you shooting me, finding Madi like this, they all woke me up to the truth about Cadogan: he’s a monster. A psychopath obsessed with being worshipped, just like he was on Earth.”
And everything is simultaneously okay and not okay, because the confession is big, but none of you get the time to respond to it, because Octavia steps up beside Clarke, looking between all of you. “She can hear you. She knows you're here.”
Clarke nods and turns back towards Madi, trying to hide her tears as she smiles. “Hey, baby, I'm here. I'm right here.”
You lean down into Madi’s line of sight, doing the same to mask your hurt as you whisper, “Hey there, little sun. Ani’s here too.”
Clarke turns to face Levitt, who’s still standing off to the side. “Is it recoverable?”
“What? I-” The question catches him off guard, not sure if he should answer, but after a second, he solemnly shakes his head. “No. The areas of her brain responsible for voluntary movement have been destroyed. I'm sorry.”
The words make all of you start to cry harder, now faced with the reality that Cadogan has paralyzed Madi permanently in the pursuit of transcendence. It's enough to make you sick to your stomach. But that feeling only intensifies as Clarke glances off to the side, where her discarded pistol now lays, and after a moment of thought, she leans down to get it. You know exactly what she’s thinking because you know her better than she knows herself, and you shake your head, your voice soft and firm. “Clarke, no.”
She starts to cry harder, her hands shakily lifting the gun, determined to do what she thinks is right for Madi. But the sight breaks your heart, as Clarke can barely hold the gun steady, too overcome with emotion. Your twin that has bore it so the rest of you don't have to is breaking, and you know you need to be there for her. Which is why you drop Bellamy’s hand and reach out for the gun. “I’ll do it.”
She looks at you, expression heartbroken but hopeful, and you whisper, “I'm not letting you live with this.”
She nods a little, passing you the gun, which you take with now shaky hands. Clarke reaches out for Madi, putting a hand on either side of her face as she whispers, “I love you so much. Don't be scared, just listen to my voice, okay?”
And just like Bellamy was doing before all of you arrived, she starts to hum Clair de lune, ducking her head beside Madi’s so she can't see her tears. You lift the gun with a shaky hand, your own tears blurring your vision, aiming the pistol at her chest. But as you stare down at the blank expression of your little sun, you don't think you can do it, the burden too great for any of you to bear. You start to cry harder, a sob escaping from your chest, and Clarke looks over at you, nodding a little, letting you know that it’s okay, it’s time.
But you can’t. You stare down at Madi’s face, reminded of the girl that couldn't speak English when you met her, who caught Clarke with a bear trap. The little girl you taught how to drive, how to fight. The girl who inspired an army to fight for Shallow Valley. You shake your head a little, unable to do it, your hand starting to lower again. But then Bellamy reaches out and closes his hand over your own. You look back at him, and he looks at you, tears falling down his face as he whispers, “Together.”
You nod, and the two of you turn to face Madi, lifting the gun to aim right over her heart. And as your finger lifts to the trigger, Bellamy’s finger poised over your own, ready to help you, you whisper, “I love you, little sun.”
But before the two of you can pull the trigger, Levitt suddenly calls out, “No, he got the code!”
You pause and you all turn towards him in shock, and he catches sight of the gun in your hand, suddenly apologetic. “Oh, God. Oh, I'm sorry.”
Octavia asks, “The test code? Are you sure?”
“Hologram mode.”
He enlarges the memory so you can all see, watching as Becca’s fingers press the symbols on the Anomaly Stone, the room glowing in white before the memory ends. Clarke shifts her gaze from the memory down to Madi, her heartbreak giving way to hard anger. “He got what he needed and left her here?”
The words hit all of you right in the chest. This man that is so determined to transcend, to prove that humans are worthy, paralyzed a child to do it, and then left her alone. Bellamy was right when he called Cadogan a monster, and you can feel Wanlida smiling as she steps into view. “We have to stop him.”
Octavia starts, “If one man represents the entire human race-”
Bellamy finishes, “It can't be him.”
Levitt nods, looking between all of you. “We can still stop him, but we have to go now.”
Everyone seems to silently agree, and you and Clarke turn back to Madi. Clarke puts her hand on Madi’s cheek, and you reach out to squeeze Madi’s hand. Clarke whispers, “I'll come back. I'll be back after we stop the test, and I promise I will not let him win.”
She presses a kiss to Madi’s forehead, and leans back so you can add, “We’re going to stop him, Madi, and we’re going to fix this. I promise. Bill Cadogan thinks he’s unstoppable, but he’s never met Wanheda and Wanlida.”
