Heyy I'm kinda curious. I want to know what Naoya's brothers thought of him. Especially Naoki, like I want to know what does Naoki thought of Naoya
Heya!!
I think I answered something like this in the past, but I think it was what Naoaki thought of his brothers and such. (Found it)
As for what the bro's think of Naoya...
They all tend to avoid him, however, the reason as to why they do so varies from each one.
Naofumi, for example, is terrified of Naoya. He doesn't even want to hear of him. The further away he is from him, the better! This has to be for the fact that he was awfully bullied due to his weak disposition by the rest of the estate—and you can imagine who was the ring leader of it all.
From there, Naohiko. This man doesn't like Naoya because he considers him troublesome, irritating, awfulwhatever you want, that's what he is. However, I think he's somewhat intimidated by him very deep inside. Many of the awful things that happened in the estate had to do with Naoya one way or the other...
Naosuke and Naohito are essentially non-existing in my fic as of now, but it's safe to assume that they are like that because they really, really don't want to get involved with Naoya. They don't hate him, but they just don't care either. I think they're glad of this distance between the two.
Naoaki is filled with lots of what if's. What if I was made heir instead? Would it matter much? Or would he still make fun of me? Because of what his mom taught him from a very early age, he wished to get along with all of his siblings—unfortunately the Zen'in had other plans, and we all know how that went down. I think that out of all the siblings, these two are the ones that have most interactions, whether good or bad, I think it'll depend on the day 😅
And there you have it :> how most of the siblings get along with Naoya (they don't) kind of awful that it happened, but Naoya does refer to them on the manga rather crudely.
Hope it was enough of an answer, but if there's anything else you'd like to know just tell me and I'll do my best to explain hehe.
Take care, and hope to see you soon!! ❤️❤️

Royalty AU
Just had the thought of Naofumi being the first, but ignored and sometimes condemned prince of a Kingdom. The title of Crown Prince was given to his younger brother as soon as he was old enough since Naofumi didn't show enough talent or want for the crown.
However, after seeing how Naofumi turned out, a lot more pressure was put on his younger brother. Naofumi watched as famous teachers and tutors from all over the land were called and hired to teach and train his younger brother from the moment he could walk and talk, leaving him little to no free time to relax or enjoy any hobbies he may have found.
Meanwhile, Naofumi was left as alone as anyone could afford, though he still had to study, of course. A prince of the Kingdom couldn't be seen lacking. He'd spend his abundance of free time either in the royal library or sneaking into the Castletown, just to spite his parents, should they ever find out, though he doubted they would, with his little they seemed to care.
However, one day, after his brother's 16th birthday and the official announcement of his bachelorship and right to the throne, Naofumi was walking through the royal gardens in the evening, as the party was dying out. While walking through one of the more secluded parts, with tall, maze-like rose bushes, he finds his brother sitting on a bench crying his eyes out.
After listening to his brother's woes and hurts, Naofumi realized his little he'd actually been part of his little brother's life and vowed to change that. He offered his brother support and advice and tried to help lighten the load of his studies enough to free up a little time for relaxation.
However, the moment their parents found out about Naofumi helping his brother, they decided that the little time the two had freed up could be spent learning even more. So, they hired more tutors and reached.
Naofumi had felt guilty, and apologized again and again, despite his brother knowing and saying that it was okay, he'd just been trying to help. As another apology, Nafoumi showed him his second-favorite secret, second only to sneak into the town.
A secret net of catacombs beneath the castle grounds, including one larger room that Naofumi has fashioned into his own little private library and relaxation spot. Apparently, the majority of the catacombs, except for the main exit-entrances had been forgotten to time, and Naofumi had made a game out of exploring them.
However, only two years later, Naofumi's brother fell ill, too overworked from what the healers told, too stressed from all his lessons and piling duties to the kingdom. Despite the healers stating that the best cure would be resting for a while, their parents decided that despite being bedridden, Naofumi's brother could still study a bit while resting.
He didn't get better at all and only became sicker and sicker until he was so overworked that his body became weak and he couldn't leave his bed without help.
When it was declared that the Crown Prince was too sick to do his duties, the King and Queen suddenly turned their eyes back to their first son, the one they'd as good as thrown to the side and left to his own devices. This didn't sit well with Naofumi, as they started buttering up to him and handing all of his brother's duties over for him to complete in his brother's name until he'd gotten better.
However, the longer his brother had been and continued to be sick, Naofumi grew more and more resentful, until he couldn't take it anymore.
Not only was he cast to the side, his brother was also bedridden, his parents didn't truly care for either of them outside their usefulness, the court was riddled with serpents pretending to be advisors, the kingdom was headed into bankruptcy because of the court and nobility, but the people were planning something against the crown!
Unwilling to endure the decline of his kingdom any longer, Naofumi would once again sneak away from the castle, but this time, he wouldn't return for a long time.
Instead, he'd find the leaders of the group planning to overthrow the crown and strike a deal. If they let him sit on the throne after their overthrowing, he'd promised that he'd save this kingdom, and if he couldn't he'd willingly lay his neck under the executioner's blade, as long as they spared his brother. The deal was struck, and they started planning, beginning with Naofumi sharing his nearly-finished map of the forgotten catacombs.
Months later, in the dark of the night, the resistance would sneak into the catacombs under their leaders' and Naofumi's lead, and storm the castle from within. After helping apprehend his parents and throwing them in the dungeons, as the morning sun rose and the cheers resounded through the castle and town, Naofumi would go to his brother's chambers and find him finally looking a little healthier.

Conversation
Motoyasu & Naofumi have been arguing constantly and Itsuki is tired of their sh*t.
*The heroes and their parties are traveling to meet the queen at a certain location. Meanwhile, Naofumi and Motoyasu have been arguing the entire trip. Mainly due to Motoyasu repeatedly provoking Naofumi. Itsuki has just about had it*
Naofumi: Will you give it a rest already!
Motoyasu: I will, once you tell me what secret cheat you use!
Naofumi: For the hundredth time! There. Is. No. Secret.! I have not been using any cheats!
Motoyasu: Bull!
Naofumi: You know what! If you can't handle this, then just turn this carriage around and drop me off first!
Motoyasu: What are you gonna do!? You gonna walk back to the castle!?
Naofumi: I will do anything, if it gets me away from you!
Itsuki: CHILDREN! CHILDREN! CHILDREN!
Motoyasu: ...
Naofumi: ...
Itsuki: This interminable bickering was amusing at first, but it's getting very stale and we've still got a long journey ahead of us.
Itsuki: So, why don't you two cut the horsesh*t and get to the part where you admit your sexual feelings for one another?
Motoyasu: Whoa!
Naofumi: You are way off base, Itsuki!
Itsuki: Oh, spare me, spare me, spare me!
Itsuki: *Looks at Naofumi* Yes, yes, he's a brute. I know. Probably reminds you of a bad relationship. And, gosh, you'd really like a nice man to settle down, but admit it. You're real curious to know what he's like in the sack!
Naofumi: *Angrily Blushing*
Itsuki: *Pointing at Motoyasu* And you!
Motoyasu: *Flinches*
Itsuki: HA! Well, you're just a big manbaby who'd rather act tough than show his true feelings, because the last time you opened your heart you got hurt. Owie.
Itsuki: And now, rather than admit these feelings, you're dancing around one another with this mind-numbing and frankly boorish mating ritual.
Itsuki: So, please, for my sake! Either quit your bickering, or pull over, tear off those clothes, AND GET IT OVER WITH ALREADY!
Naofumi: *Stunned silence*
Motoyasu: *Stunned silence*
*Motoyasu and Naofumi did not say a word for the rest of the journey*

So I’m marathon watching Arifureta for the first time, and of course as a longtime fan of Rising of the Shield Hero I’m noticing a lot of broad-stroke similarities.
But what’s amusing the hell out of me is a difference. Because while both teens get Badly Traumatized in their new world, and wind up with Massive Trust Issues as a result, they heal in completely opposite ways.
Naofumi copes by becoming a complete Dom - shading for a good while into Master territory. He’s not a harsh or cruel Master, but he’s really only comfortable around women who are in a subservient (or straight up slave) role, and it takes him a long time to mellow down to Dom from Master. Even longer to deal on even terms with women who out-power him (usually he just avoids them or makes them want to avoid him). Bluntly - Naofumi’s reaction to his betrayal is to become a complete and utter control freak, and he can only show his softer inner self if he’s absolutely certain he is in complete control of the situation/relationship.
Hajime copes by going full tilt in the other direction - he’s a sub. He’s very clear on who his domme is, too. While he spreads this out across his harem, ultimately he only has actual interest once the woman in question demonstrates a willingness to straight up ignore/push past any resistance or barrier he might place between them (yeah, even in Tio’s case, he only even remotely begins listening to her when she demonstrates that she’s going to stick around REGARDLESS of what he does or has to say about it, and while she’s a masochist, in practice this basically means he has no power over her, because even if he hurts her, she’ll enjoy it). He’s got a solid criteria list for his dommes, and has pretty minimal interest in any woman that doesn’t meet those criteria. Hajime’s reaction to his betrayal is to build walls, big solid emotional/psychological walls, and for a long time he can only show his gentler self if the woman he’s with can either push past them or otherwise get around them. This even applies to the child Myu, who simply never sees those walls in the first place. I note, too, that while the boundary issue is essentially the primary step required, you don’t get full status until you prove you’re strong enough to protect him, and that you’re willing to do so when it counts.
I make absolutely no judgement as to which of these is the ‘better’ approach. Each of them seems to have a solution that works well for him, and while I find it amusing to mentally picture the sheer “WTF??” they’d have on meeting the other guy, honestly what works for them is all that matters.

(This post applies to my interpretation of the Shield Hero)
Shield Hero characters and their parallels/connections to the Genshin Impact characters
So, this is something that has been sitting in the back of my mind for a while now and I really wanna share it. More specifically, I want to talk about how I'm gonna use the Archon quests and, in general, the plot of Genshin to my advantage to further the character development of some characters.
(A bit of context: while not outright visible to people not familiar with the plotline and lore of the game, it will noticeable. In the fanfic, Naofumi has books which, basically, have the whole genshin story, a book for every nation)
Raphtalia - for her parallel is rather easy, Vanessa from the Genshin comics/manga. I think it just suits her, considering the similar backstory and all. In the story, Raphtalia will look up to Vanessa, seeing her as someone to want to be like, someone to relate to
Filo - that's one easy. Filo likes Paimon, she finds her funny and relatable. Maybe Xiangling because she's a chef and all (plus having a god for a pet)
Motoyasu - to be completely honest, I had no idea who to use for Motoyasu's character development. I thought of Childe, since he (Childe) and Motoyasu both were deceived by their teammates (Myne/Signora). But I also thought that Lyney works too, since he too (Lyney) follows the orders of a person he knows isn't good (Arlecchino), just like how Motoyasu keeps Myne in his party even after the trial. Maybe Keaya? With the whole flirty personality and having a bad relationship with someone they use to be close with (could work for (maybe? Naofumi) Myne.
Itsuki - okay, for him, I don't think there is a character that parallels him. I don't think there's a character that he could relate to, only learn from. For example, he could learn from Heizou and he's ideology of stopping crime before it's even committed. He could learn to learn the truth first before casting judgment from Furina (as a parallel to what he did to that one village (do you see my vision???)). Maybe he could learn from Wriotheslay and see how criminals aren't "evil" most of the time, and that they can be redeemed. He could learn from Neuvillette how to find his own sense of justice and, lastly, he could learn from the Rainden Shogun who refused to listen to her people and hurt them, learn how to find his justice the same way that Ei found her own definition of eternity
Ren - he is a bit easier than the other two heroes but I think that the Raiden Shogun works for him, but, just like Itsuki he could learn from her, not really relate. Raiden isolated herself and battled with herself for (allegedly) thousand of years, which is similar to how Ren, after his party members died, isolated himself, only listening to what he wants to hear (Myne) and being convinced that his way is the right way. Maybe also Childe with the whole 'wanting to be stronger' bit but aside from that I don't see anything
Rishia - I feel like she would like and relate to Sucrose and Collei. She would relate to Sucrose because of her awkwardness and shyness but also for her admiration regarding Albedo. For Collei it's probably because of, again, her awkwardness and shyness but also because she can relate to having a traumatizing past and finding comfort in one person (Tighnari (although in this specific case it's platonic instead of Rishia's crush on Itsuki))
L'arc - L'arc, L'arc, L'arc, best character in the series, my favourite character, I'll have to go with Childe. I think that he would like and relate to Childe, from their shared love for the battlefield and a good, fair fight to their cheerfulness, being on the enemy team and having to fight a person they like (Traveller, Naofumi) before becoming friends/comrades. I could go on for hours how alike they are so I'm going to stop myself right here
If anyone thinks that there are characters that I haven't mentioned that fit the Shield Hero characters, please let me know, I'd love to hear other people's opinions!

Twisted Wonderland Matchup: Kalim al-Asim
Warnings: Fluff.
@aquaburst3 Request: Hi there, can I get a Twisted Wonderland romantic matchup for my OC?
Name: Adriana “Addie/Ria” Jasmine Strano-García Pronouns: She/her Sexuality: Bisexual Appearance: Long and thick curly hair. Dark umber hair colour. Light brown skin (like the Scarabia Dou). Brown eyes. Hourglass figure. 5'2. Personality: She is a sassy, witty and bold former popular mean girl, who became humbled after her ex cheated on her with another girl, but still has a lot to learn in order to become a better and more balanced person. She’s also quite ambitious, analytical and a quick planner. On the flipside, she’s secretive, cut throat, manipulative, in her own head a lot, over thinks things, super guarded, even to the point of hiding shit from loved ones, and has some huge himedere tendencies due to coming from a wealthy family. Hobbies: Drawing, painting, improv, photography, playing video games, streaming series, snowboarding, running and hiking What she wants in a partner: I think she ultimately wants a partner who is loyal, understanding and truly cares about her, especailly after being cheated on. She also responds to acts of service and words of affirmation the best.
Extra Facts:
Aspects of her personality are heavily inspired by the animated versions of Alice, Tiana and Princess Jasmine.
She is also inspired by Sokka (ATLA), Poppy (Wild Child) and Naofumi (ROTSH)
If she identified as male and was a mage, she would’ve been sorted into Pomefiore or Octanivelle.

After going through the information given, I believe that you best pair well with Kalim al-Asim!
By the Sevens, you’re so beautiful! The instant he meets you for the first time, Kalim is instantly taken by your beauty. He’s not one to fully judge based on appearance, but he absolutely loves your hair! It’s so thick and curly… It even bounces when you move! Your voluminous hair makes him want to run his hands through it.
When Kalim gets to know you better, and if you have the courage to tell him about your past, he’ll be somewhat wary, but grateful for your change of heart. Even if you don’t divulge your past to him, he’s a perceptive person even if most other people don’t think so. He’s a person who has learned to be wary of assassination attempts and suspicious persons, so he can hazard a guess that you have a past that you’re not too fond of, but you are trying to do better. In the end, he focuses more on the positive side of things: that you have improved somewhat!
As a member of Scarabia Dorm, he understands what it’s like to be ambitious and to plan things well in advance. Although he isn’t the shining example like the other Housewardens, he can clearly see how well you could fit in Scarabia… Ah, but you would rather prefer Pomefiore or Octavinelle? That’s more than fine by him, you’re so refined and intelligent!
While Kalim appreciates your quick wit and intelligence, he can be a little put off by the fact that you house a lot of traits that remind him of people who could easily put him out of commission if they truly wanted to. Everyone has their secrets, Kalim included, but the more you withhold certain aspects of yourself, the more he gets reminded of Jamil’s Overblot and the circumstances leading up to it. Please, if you need someone to talk to, know that you have a confidant in Kalim. Even if you don’t want to talk to him, you should surely find someone else.
Although Kalim is also from a wealthy family, he isn’t as arrogant or snobbish as most others who were born into a life of privilege. Because of this, however, he knows your type really well. He knows that you have been humbled and are striving to do better for yourself, but your antics can hurt people more often than not. Kalim had to learn the hard way that his actions have consequences and that led to Jamil betraying him in the process. If you’re not too careful, he tells you with concern in his eyes, someone could do the same.
As you can see, Kalim takes you very seriously. Not as a threat, but as another person born from wealth. Out of anyone else, he can empathize what it’s like to be in a place where you were surrounded by much fortune for most of your life, only to have drawbacks in the process: for him, assassination attempts, relative isolation, and ignorance of the outside world; for you, your cutthroat personality.
Oh my, you’re such an active person! Kalim may not share most of your interests with you, but he appreciates how well-rounded you are. If you ever ask for it, he’ll gladly provide the necessary materials for your hobbies. If you complain about your art supplies, he’ll buy you new ones from a renowned art supplier. If you don’t like your camera, he’ll get you a new one! Maybe this new camera has magic in it, too! And if you need more practice with your chosen sports, he can easily reserve a resort for just the two of you so you can go snowboarding.
As for what she desires in a partner, Kalim hopes that he can match your expectations. He’ll admit, he was wary of you at first, but the more time he spends with you, the more he realizes just how much you wish to share your love with another person. Kalim knows he’s not perfect; his recent conversations with Jamil have revealed just how ignorant he was, but for you he’ll try because you’re also working on bettering yourself as well! Besides, he’s many things, but a cheater is not one of them. You can count on him!
Overall, you cannot deny that there is a tension, maybe even a rivalry, between you and Kalim during your first few interactions. However, in order for this relationship to flourish, you need to lower your guard and reveal weakness. For the both of you, this could easily be akin as asking for an assassination on both your persons. However, this is the price you pay for trust and if you pay it forward, you will surely reap bountiful rewards.

Miku.EXE Origin : The Revenge Pt.6 (2/2)
[Merry Memory Go Round - Tomoko Sasaki, Naofumi Hataya]
Miku.EXE : Wow! I never imagined of traveling to the Forest before! This is going to be great in our adventures to see something wonderful!
Zatsune.EXE : Yep! This ain't such a bad place to start off our own journey to becoming "God". Although, I did manage to bring our stuff for us to eat while we adventure through the woods. Since we only needed to carry our powers to deal with, we should give ourselves a try. So, you ready, sister?
Miku.EXE : I'm ready whenever I am needed! Let's run through the forest together like no adventure has ever challenged before!
Zatsune.EXE : [chuckles in excitement] That's the spirit! I'll race ya to it!
*SA1 SFX : Dash Panel*
Miku.EXE : Not if I can beat you to it!
*SA1 SFX : Dash Panel*
[Take Upper Fruit - Mariko Nanba]
Zatsune.EXE : Hahahaha! What's the matter, sis? Can't get this feeling in the wind? I can run fast as you can, you know! This is way much fun here than at home!
Miku.EXE : Right back at ya, sister! Make way for the rush!
[cuts to the two jumping on the branches to get across]
Zatsune.EXE : Not bad, sis! But let's see if you can handle this one!
Miku.EXE : I'm way ahead of you! I can jump on each branch and not to fall off! This is pretty good to start it off! I can feel the wind calling me!
Zatsune.EXE : That's the way I'd like to know, sis! The wind tells me that I gotta run fast! Yahooo! [spins around on the branch to get across to the next one]
Miku.EXE : You call that a spin, sister? This is how you do a spin! [Spins around on the branch, and then released to jump up high] Wahooo!
Zatsune.EXE : Hey! No fair!
Miku.EXE : See! I can do that to you know! Having fun is so much to do around in the forest than to do our studies. And I'm sure that nothing will--
??? : [panicking] Hey! Look out!
Miku.EXE : Huh? AAAH!
[Cartoon SFX : CRASH!]
Miku.EXE : WOAAAAAA...[DBZ SFX : Wall Crash] OOF! Ow! That hurt!
Zatsune.EXE : Sister! Sister! Are you alright? Are you hurt?
Miku.EXE : I'm fine sis! I just fell, that's all. I was just doing a little run through the woods together before I accidentally hit into this weird person...? [they see Majin Sonic lying on the ground, knocked out]
Zatsune.EXE : Oh my! That person that kinda looks like dad when he was small, but who's this weird fella over here?
Majin Sonic : It's me, you nitwit! And be a little more careful next time when you travel across, okay?
Miku.EXE : Okay! I won't happened again. And by the way, who are you?
[Chao Kindergarten - Fumie Kumatani]
Zatsune.EXE : M...Majin Sonic! Oh, Mr.Majin! [bows down to apologize] Please forgive my sister crashing into you! I didn't recognize you in the first place. What are you doing here in a place like this?
Majin Sonic : Oh, I don't know, but what are you doing here in my territory?
Zatsune.EXE : Hmm? Wait just a momment...[realizing] We are in your territory!? But dad said this is only the location for the defense line. Something bothers me that we shouldn't be here and dad will happen to find out that we entered the defense line. So this is your territory, right?
Majin Sonic : Of course, dear. I've know your father a long time ago when my people discovered that he originally came from the stars. I've heard that he used to come by at my territory before he disappeared to Cyberspace until broke free in a future time like this.
Zatsune.EXE : You and dad were friends? Maybe that's a long time ago before we were even born on the same day. Can't say what are the odds having friends to those who are comrades. But this is how we suppose to "Meet and Greet" each other on the contrary.
Majin Sonic : Same here. Now then, tell me. What are your names?
Zatsune.EXE : Oh! We haven't forgot! Allow us introduce you to ourselves! I am Sonic.EXE's first daughter Zatsune, and this one here is my sister, Miku.EXE.
Miku.EXE : [bows down] It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Majin. I am the second daughter of the EXE Family.
Zatsune.EXE : And were destined that we are on a journey to become the most powerful "God" in existence! That's what our dad is and we would become stronger to surpass him! I'll just able to master that way and show him that is the true reason of being "God" there is!
Majin Sonic : "God" you say? My people knows that he has that title for himself and he destined to become one like him before. But in that case, I assume that you will become fine "Gods" that are willing to be powerful and stronger before! But since you two arrived in my territory, how about I'll let you have a place to stay for awhile on your travels?
Miku.EXE : Well...Umm...
Zatsune.EXE : Sure! It's an honor to be staying with for tonight. Mind if we head to your place for tonight? It's gonna be a real night for us to sleep in.
Majin Sonic : I appreciate your kind. You two youngsters shouldn't wander off in these kind of places in what dangers your in.
Zatsune.EXE : Alright, thank you so much, sir! It is our pleasure to be here.
Miku.EXE : I guess staying here for tonight wouldn't be much of a threat. I think it's really nice to have someone to appreciate their kind tho. I can get used to this!
[From the views of a binoculars, Sally.EXE is shown on top of a branch]
Sally.EXE : So, this must be them. The Daughters of "God" Himself. This should be really entertaining for me. I bet I wonder what those two are up to? Maybe I should get a call from this local CD Guy. He knows much to tell me what to do with master. This is going to be a fun little ride.

So I wrote a thing inspired by the first image-
(Uhh, description of injury further down? Specifically, a great number of heavy burns and the corresponding scars)
—————
"May I ask why Naofumi isn't here, Your Majesty?"
"Sir Iwatani is actually the reason I planned this meeting, Sir Kawasumi. It's about him."
"What happened? After what we saw at the last Wave..."
"I will explain momentarily, Sir Kitamura. I merely... Need to collect my thoughts, as this was told to me not many hours ago..."
The three Heroes stared at the Matriarch of Melromarc. Queen Mirellia, who so often looked strong and steadfast, with an iron will and firm hand to guide her Kingdom, now looked tired and weary; her face paler than usual, and the bags under her eyes slightly hidden by make-up.
The fact that she needed to collect and calm herself before sharing whatever she knew meant that it was something big and most likely overly worrisome.
"I was informed by the healers not too long ago that Sir Iwatani has finally awoken-"
"Really?!"
"-But, he will be unable to participate in any waves, or anything, really, for the foreseeable future."
"What-"
"Why?!"
"Was he hurt that badly?"
"While Sir Iwatani's party and Melty are well on their way to recovery and are now mainly dealing with the effects of the Curse, which we are treating with the highest grade holy water, the same cannot be said for Sir Iwatani."
"Didn't you just say he'd finally woken up? It's been almost two months!"
"Have any of you three been given a description of what happened during that wave?"
"No." "No." "No."
"Then I will give one, created from multiple corresponding accounts, so that you may understand better what happened to Sir Iwatani."
"Alright...?"
"As you know, Sir Iwatani and his party were leading at the front to clear a path for everyone to follow, so that we could defeat the Boss Monster swiftly, and then redirect our forces to hunt the lesser monsters.
However, after you three and Sir Iwatani's Party manages to defeat the Boss Monster, a new Wave of monsters had dropped, unexpectedly.
During the confusion, Miss Raphtalia was fatally injured by one of the monsters before Sir Iwatani could get to her. During the Chaos, I can only assume Sir Iwatani thought she died on the spot, as his Cursed Shield immediately came out, and he started rampaging.
No matter what anyone or his party tried to do, he would not calm or listen, so Melty had to take Miss Raphtalia and Miss Filo to escape the flames before they were too heavily injured.
Sir Iwatani burned everything within a certain radius, leaving nothing but ashes and corpses in the wave of his cursed flames. We could only get to him after he collapsed from overuse, far longer than any other time.
When he was found, he was covered in heavy burns and losing too much blood. Because of the curse on him, our healing did not work, and we had to hastily transport him to the closest healing tent. Sir Iwatani was under intense full-time care for weeks after the Wave ended.
Now, he's awake but completely unresponsive no matter what we or his party try to communicate with him, the majority of his body is covered is burns or scars from them, and the runes from the use of his cursed shield are seared into his skin."
Motoyasu, Itsuki, and Ren stared at the Queen, shocked and speechless, unable to react to the pretty much completely new information shared with them.
———
Not much later, the four of them were in Naofumi's room. Filo and Melty were curled up on a divan in the corner, covered by a blanket, both exhausted by the latest events.
Raphtalia sits at Naofumi's bedside, clutching one of his hands on both her own, head bowed, looking just as, if not more, tired than the two girls in the corner.
They all keep their eyes on Naofumi's almost too still form on the bed. His breathing is light, and under the heavy blankets it's almost hard to even see his chest rising and falling. His skin is too pale to be healthy, making the pre-existing bags under his eyes even darker, and his lips look dry and cracked.
Naofumi's eyes are dull and void of anything resembling life, staring into nothing from where he's propped up, leaning against multiple pillows, letting him half sit up.
That hand that Raphtalia isn't holding, lays still on his lap, not even as much as the twitch of a finger to be seen. From the tips of his fingers, to mid-way up his forearms is covered is what almost looks like one big scar of burnt skin, blurring the rune-burns. However, after that point, the burn scars, all a deeper color than normal ones, are lesser, both in number and size, but no less severe, and paired with the rune burns, it creates a horrifying sight.
The rune burns even cover his face, neck, and chest, from what's revealed from the soft-looking green tunics he's wearing, and the other burns reach there as well, centered more around his neck and jaw.
"The healers..."
The three heroes do their attention to Raphtalia, who'd spoken up in the heavy silence.
"The healers, they said he'll likely never regain feeling in his hands, and the chances of being able to move them are small as well. He may never speak properly again, without drawbacks and repercussions to his health." Raphtalia tells them, her voice so low it may have been a whisper, but easily heard in the pressing silence.
"They said that if he doesn't wake up properly and respond soon, he'll likely never move his hands or even make a sound again. There's a chance he'll die if he doesn't wake!" Her voice erupts in a shout with the last sentence, making a few of those in the room flinch.
"And it's all my fault..." She whispers, leaning over to press her forehead against the back of Naofumi's hand as tears fall from her eyes, sliding onto the blanket.
No one has any words to try and comfort the girl as she cries. They can't form anything that would make the situation better or even slightly more positive. One of their own has a chance of dying, right in front of them, and realistically, they can't do anything to help.
Motoyasu, Ren, and Itsuki are too gone in their own heads to even react to Raphtalia's crying, or the queen moving to sit on a chair beside where her daughter and Filo sleep.
The three of them had been prancing about, maybe even leisurely adventuring, as they leveled up and completed quests, thinking that if they were defeated, it would just mean they'd respawn back in the capital or at the healers'.
But now, seeing Naofumi on what might as well be his deathbed, covered in burn scars and bandages, face blank, eyes void, and body still as a corpse. Well, how can they keep thinking like that?
They're not immortal, and what a way to be given that reality check. By seeing and hearing about their fellow Hero using such a double-edged magic that even if he end up fully waking and responding, he'll be handicapped for life, unable to do most basic tasks on his own. Unable to even communicate his needs and wants.
———
Hours later, filled only with oppressive silence and the sounds of breathing, as they all file out of the room to eat a somber and silent dinner together, Naofumi still lays motionless and unresponsive on the bed, eyes now closed after he drifted into unconsciousness, and none of them know if he'll ever get better; if they'll ever save the world without all Four Heroes on the field, after how far they've come.

Still working on those big kazurei illustrations, but due to some… stuff going on… It takes me to draw them a bit longer, sorry
Anyway, today I present to you my recent obsession - those four hero dorks. I don’t remember the plot much as I was reading the light novel for the last time in like 2017??? Still exited
So a huge brainrot has been festering in my head for the past week about some angsty au, because there’s not a lot of works around with them (at least that I’m aware of)… It got to a point that I’m now prepping to write my first ever fanfic with ✨da bois✨, yeah
Here are some snippets of what I’m currently thinking. You know, some basic queer/angst stuff (@_@)
Enjoy my struggles in filling out my sketchbook

wait Ren physically cant hold items past a certain quality??? based on what i read on the wiki i thought that if he holds anything high quality it just gets worse and worse until its value very low or its crumbling in his hands
IIIIIIT'S INCREDIBLY POSSIBLE THAT I MISREAD THE WIKI. what i was thinking of was Ren's bullet under Legendary Heroes in the Curse Series article:
The downsides to these swords are that he can't gather EXP nor would he be able to hold anything worth cash in the wake of utilizing the Curse Series arms Guillotine and Strong Decline.
either way. that also sounds really cool tbh?? part of me likes him not being able to hold certain things because it harkens back to naofumi realizing he couldn't hold weapons outside of the shield, but also him degrading things of a higher quality just by holding it is also pretty cool and feels like you could get more creative with it.
i view ren as someone who cares deeply about image, but particularly his self-image: he seems like someone who wants to be proud of his actions, so he's more capable of self reflection than most of the other heroes. but also, he's a teenager (the youngest out of the legendary heroes, in fact), so coming to terms with more egregious flaws is probably something scary or painful for him.
putting on a cool facade and being a bit of a loner type probably helps him twofold: convince himself of his better character, and keep people away from seeing him as anything but. getting help scary: doing things on your own more efficient, you don't have to worry about getting people hurt and being a bad person by extension. of course i don't think this is like, the Primary Root of his whole deal, but you could definitely interpret it as that. i'll need to rewatch the anime/read the series to see if this particular interpretation holds up to scrutiny.
but i think something like him causing things he holds to rot and crumble does just as good a job at conveying this vulnerability of his—of trusting others with his true self (never having to share himself)—as him being unable to hold things of value at all might demonstrate how his behavior denies him solace and companionship (keep taking, never giving). i could also see both of these curse after-effects working in tandem:
rotting could be from his gluttony series;
and losing access to valuables could be from his greed series.
frankly, it's kind of refreshing to see how Shield Hero applies the Seven Deadly Sins conceptually. the sins tend to be represented in a straightforward way, but the way the Heroes not only encounter these sins but grapple with them has been making me think for a good while on how precisely the Sins are meant to fit into this series.
The Curse Series is described by Naofumi (and/or as the wikia states lmao) as a defense mechanism unlocked by the weapons after undergoing psychological hardship. which implies that it's meant to protect the users... but honestly, with the way the curses have been shown to work (Naofumi's our best example as w/the anime it's the only one we've seen so far & also he unlocks it first), it's less actual protection and more perceived protection by the hero that unlocked it. (naofumi might feel safer never trusting anyone, but he wasn't able to progress in the world—and, more importantly, feel fulfilled and connected to the world—without making connections with the people inside of it.) so it's likely whatever curses they unlock are influenced by the user and their outlook on the world.
which would imply that ren feels obligated to pilfer and hoard in order to protect himself. (please note that i do not mean to use these words interchangeably between the sins. not to oversimplify, but for the sake of my ramblings: greed is taking (thus emphasis on value), gluttony is wasting (thus, rotting.)) so the question keeping me Up At Night is not just what he's taking/collecting, but why he's taking/collecting it.
and the wiki does answer pretty neatly on the face of it: to exact revenge. to have the ability to exact revenge. items. levels. strength, XP, dignity. but, honestly? i think while looking for empowerment when you're wronged is not only understandable but justified, going the extra length to try and prove that the people who wronged you are the weak ones (rather than maybe letting that fact stand for itself ig? or doing self-evaluation first?) can get pretty immature.
ren can't let his insecurities get the better of him: otherwise, his facade will crumble, and he will be forced to look at the mirror and see how weak he is. so he has to cover up that mirror with whatever he can find, and if he amasses enough stuff he will be able to hide it. he will never have to give himself away (something he may be afraid of) nor will he have to give up his facade (something he holds onto).
so uh. not being able to hold things up to obscure this figurative mirror, be it through sheer inability or the means of decay, are pretty fitting.
...i will Also say that honestly i think the best source for any canon info in general would be straight up canon, i am just 1.) poor 2.) too lazy to look it up on free sites rn fkjsfnsejkfNESJ. the wikia in particular won't necessarily give concise, accurate, or truthful information, especially as it's an english wiki for a japanese series. (which reminds me i should probably try looking things up in japanese. and also continue practicing japanese)
all of this is to say: i only watched the anime so i am the least reliable when it comes to canon information OOPS. it is a little curious that i'm trying to make an AU so soon tbh? but honestly making fanwork helps me digest the canon more, as trying to write for the characters/write alterations of the characters forces me to hone in on all the little nuances that make those characters (and their world) tick.

The people who's deaths affected me greatly:
- Monty Oum: ive been a huge fan of his since watching Dead Fantasy. The way he animated fight scenes was so unique and exciting. And I loved watching his ddr videos. He was the reason I got to meet some online friends that i still consider to be close. People that loved the things that I loved, people that I could confide in about things that I normally couldn't my irl friends. When he died, it felt so surreal. I remember being in a college class, and not being able to concentrate. My friend, who had talked to him more often than I did, was even more so affected.
- my best friend from college: I remember asking her a question in a biology class, and that essentially put us on the path to becoming good friends. I was with her when she needed an oil change for her first car. Prior to her death, she was supposed to get married. My one regret was allowing my mental health at the time take over to the point I stopped hanging out with friends, including her. I wish I could have been with her for the last time.
- my maternal grandpa: I wont lie.....I wasn't as sad about my grandpa's death initially, but that's mostly because we had never met in person. Our first and last meeting was on Skype, when my family in the Philippines managed to come up with enough money to afford a computer and internet. The moment he saw my face, as well as my mom's, he cried. It had been 20 years since he last saw his daughter, and the first time seeing me. The thing that made me sad about his death was that we would never be able to meet in real life. I've always had.....complicated feelings towards my family (mostly on the paternal side) but with my maternal grandparents, even tho I never really got to grow up with them, I felt.....loved. and cherished by them. When I traveled to the PH for the first time, to view his grave, my maternal grandma treated me with such love and care, that I didn't know how to feel. She didn't judge me, nor looked down on me.....she made me food, and gave me a Lei of sampaguita. She made me feel special. She was like those grandmas you see on TV, who would bake you cookies and sing you a lullaby. I reckoned had my grandpa still lived, he would have done the same.
Chadwick Boseman: this was a death that affected many greatly. His portrayal of Black Panther was unique, and special. He was a strong and diligent leader, but also empathetic and kind. His performance at the end of Civil War, in particular, stuck with me; his speech about Vengeance towards Baron Zemo struck a cord with me.
I remember prior to his death being concerned at how skinny he had become in interviews. People would make fun of him and make jokes that he's doing drugs or something; not realizing he was very, very sick, and growing weaker as the days went by. The day he died, I didn't think I would be affected; but I was. I cried a lot for this man, who kept his illness a secret for so long from the public, just so he can take on a role that would mean so much to many people; especially little boys and girls of color. It hurts to see this man die so soon, someone who was looked up to by so many kids; kids who saw something in him that was also present within them.
Billy Kametz: prior to learning about Billy, I had already unknowingly heard his voice in many anime roles: Josuke, Naofumi, etc., but it was Ferdinand von Aegir in Fire Emblem: Three Houses where I first heard his name. He, alongside the entire voice cast of FE3H, brought a lot of joy and comfort to me during the three years of this pandemic. The game was the 1st game I bought with the last paycheck I got from my job before they laid me off. I spent days upon days playing and replaying that game. There were days when the uncertainty of real life would cause me great distress; but every time I heard the words "I am Ferdinand von Aegir!!" It would make me laugh out loud, and then, it would make me smile. In that moment, i was Ferdinand von Aegir; a noble knight on a horse, proud and strong, and I'd forget a little about how shitty the world has become.
When Billy announced his cancer not too long ago, I immediately thought back to Chadwick; I thought, "oh no. Not again. This can't be happening again." It doesn't help that it was the same type of cancer that took Chadwick. I was scared again. I didn't know these people personally, but i was afraid for him. Watching Billy's video talking about his diagnosis, seeing how skinny he had become in such a short span of months......this world is just too cruel.
Today, I learned on twitter that he passed away. I cried a lot, for a person I never met in person. I have a streamily print featuring Ferdinand and Hubert at tea time, autographed by both Billy and Robbie Daymond. I was hoping one day, once I own my own house with its own reception/living room, I would turn it into a tea or coffee room, and then I would hang that poster up, for all the guests to see. I still plan on doing that someday......but for now, I think I want to hang it up in my room, so that I can remember, that someone so talented and so loved by a wonderful community existed.
FYI, this post doesn't really have.....a specific purpose. With how today went, I just wanted to vent a little. Death is suppose to be a natural part of the circle of life, but it's also the one that hurts most. Once someone is gone, they're gone for good. No more text messages, no more impromptu trips to In-N-Out with them.......family gatherings have an empty void where they once stood. The squeaky toy your favorite pet used to play with, is still stuck under the shed, gathering dust, and cobwebs, and dissolving from the weather. Movies, and shows don't feel, or sound, the same. Weddings, birthday parties, graduations suddenly become a memorial.
Admittedly, it gets better with time; but there will always be moments in our lives, where a memory, or an image of someone we love appears in our minds, and we can't help but break down and cry, even years later. Despite all that, we're forced to wipe our tears and keep moving forward, as best as we can; if not for our sake, then for the people we still have in this world, as well as for the sake of the loved ones we lost, who would have wanted us to keep going.
I don't know how best to end this post except: please, hold your loved ones close.

I'M DYINGGG is there a character in another anime that looks like Naoaki? I imagine him to kind of look like Yoshida from CSM lol
Hello!
Was waiting to release the character profiles.... but say no more!! hehe.
I actually thought Yoshida would fit fairly nice with Naofumi! But who knows, he's the only one I think might change in the future, might not... I'll worry about that when it happens 🤭
Disclaimer: I have yet to read any of the works mentioned, outside of CSM. So I vaguely know the context behind them, if any 💀 😅
So now, onto the faceclaims :>
Naoaki would be Haruka from Haru Kakete, Uguisu:
Tumblr media
Naofumi is Yoshida from Chainsaw Man:
Tumblr media
And Naohiko is Shiki Ichinose from Tougen Anki:
Tumblr media
So there you have it, how I think the characters would look like 🤭 If I had the talent to draw them I would, but for now, this is all I can offer 🥺
I want to know y'all's opinion 🤭 Do they match? Or did you see envision them differently? Let me know!!
Thank you so much for sending in this ask! I do plan on revealing the rest of the cast... just gotta finish some things... polish them... soon...
Anyways, I had fun :> Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful week, take care, and hope to see you soon!

TheRuFumi Prompt
What if? Au. Scenario: What is Naofumi was a prince? (i’m a sucker for royalty aus! Also imagine myne and the other heroes reactions if they ever found out?)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Background: Naofumi is the crown prince of the Iwatani Kingdom, a country known world wide for its military power and vast wealth.
As next in line to the throne, Naofumi spent most of his childhood training to take succeed his father. Most days had Naofumi studying to run the kingdom or practicing his swordsmanship.
On the rare time Naofumi doesn’t have any lessons to attend to, he spends his time in the garden with his two younger siblings, the second prince and first princess.
Naofumi is very close to his little brother and sister as growing up their parents were often too busy ruling the kingdom and rarely had enough free time to for them. So, Naofumi tried to spend as much time as he could with his siblings.
Naofumi’s younger brother, the second prince, had a bit of a rebellious streak and would often try to skip out on his royal lessons. He hates the responsibilities associated with being royalty and craves the simple things in life.
In contrast, Naofumi’s younger sister, the first princess, absolutely loves the royal lifestyle. Being the youngest of the three siblings, she was often spoiled by their parent, especially by their mother.
Both the first princess and queen have very refined tastes and tend to indulge in the finest of luxuries from expensive dresses and jewelry to decadent desserts. Of course, Naofumi father, the king, made sure they didn’t go too overboard in their lavish spending.
Naofumi is also ashamed to admit he spoiled his sister quite a bit as well growing up. It’s honestly amazing she didn’t become a selfish, entitled brat (like a certain red-headed bitch).
Both of Naofumi’s siblings can be pretty protective of him, despite the fact he can easily beat someone ten times his size. However, his sister in particular can be slightly clingy at times.
Whenever Naofumi couldn’t play with her, because of his royal studies, his sister would get really pouty and sad, but Naofumi always promised to play with her after his lessons.
However, there are days where Naofumi has no lessons at all and that is when his fiancee, Therese comes for a visit.
Therese is the daughter of Duke Alexanderite, a wealthy and influential noble  from the Kingdom of Shroud.
Of course, the two’s engagement was arranged by their parents as are most marriages between royalty and nobility.
The two first met when Naofumi was only seven. Naofumi remembers being extremely nervous that day and when they were finally face to face, Naofumi could barely say hello as he kept stuttering.
An embarrassing first meeting to say the least. Luckily, Therese and her father didn’t seem to mind.
After the initial reaction, Two began talking and immediately hit it off.  Naofumi and Therese had an instant connection and enjoyed each others company. The two especially love taking walks in the royal garden on sunny days.
However, that’s not all Naofumi and therese do together.
When Naofumi was about thirteen, Therese managed to convince him to sneak out with her and attend the festival in the town square.
While at the festival, the two danced and laughed, while trying a variety of games and food. It became something of a habit for the two to sneak off whenever, Therese came to visit.
One day while on their way back to the castle after an afternoon of sneaking around, Naofumi noticed what looked to be a young boy laying in an alleyway.
Worried that the boy might be hurt, the two rush over to him. The boy had dark, crimson hair and tan skin, he looked to be around Naofumi and Therese’s age.
Therese noticed the boy was heavily injured with blood running down his face. Knowing that the boy needed immediate care, Therese and Naofumi decide to take the young red head back to the palace with them.
Once there, Naofumi called on the royal healer to help the boy and after a few hours had passed the boy finally awoke.
Naofumi asked who the boy was to which he introduced himself as L’arc. However, when asked where he came from and why he was laying in the alleyway, L’arc couldn’t answer.
In fact, other than his first name, L’arc couldn’t remember anything. The royal healer informed Naofumi and Therese that L’arc must be suffering from amnesia due to the injury on his head. However, the healer was unsure whether it was permanent or temporary.
With permission from the queen and king, L’arc was allowed at stay at the palace as one of Naofumi’s servants.
However, a few months after L’arc’s arrival, it was discovered that L’arc was an excellent fighter and swordsmen after challenging Naofumi’s sword instructor to a sparring match.
After that, L’arc was assigned as Naofumi’s personal knight. As time went on, L’arc became really close with Naofumi and Therese, which resulted in the two falling for the red head.
Therese began to visit the Iwatani kingdom more often, spending almost all her time with Naofumi and L’arc. L’arc even began to join the two on their adventures into town.
However, this all changed a few years later.
When Naofumi was about seventeen, his parents hosted a grand ball to celebrate his sister’s coming of age. The ball also doubled as a way to find a suitable husband for her.
By this point, Naofumi’s sister had grown into a fine, young princess renowned for her beauty and intelligence. So, she already had quite a few suitors wanting her hand in marriage.
One the day of the ball, royalty and nobility from all over were invited. The enormous ballroom was filled with nobles dancing, laughing and conversing.
Naofumi’s sister were with dodging dance offers and romantic gifts left and right, while his parents were busy dealing with nobles trying to convince the king and queen that their son would be the best pick for the princess.
Naofumi’s brother had either not shown up yet or is hiding in the corner somewhere.
Naofumi himself spent most of the ball with L’arc, at some point he went off to grab a drink for the both of them, effectively leaving Naofumi alone.
Thankfully, Therese arrived not long after and the two began to talk, During, their chat the two were approached by the king and queen of Shroud.
Naofumi and Therese greeted the monarchs, who began to strike up conversation.
It was around this time that L’arc returned with two glasses of wine in hand. Therese and Naofumi were about to greet him, but were stopped by the sound of a loud gasp and glass shattering on the ground.
The three of them turned around to see the queen of Shroud standing there with a shocked look on her face, the wine glass she was holding was now laying my her feet broken into tiny pieces, wine spilling on the marble floor,
By this point everyone in the ballroom turned their attention to the small group. Naofumi asked the queen if she was ok, the queen did not answer. Instead, she stared at L’arc with a look of disbelief.
When Naofumi looked to the king of Shroud, he saw that the king was just as shell shocked as the queen. Suddenly, the queen latches onto L’arc while crying loudly, much to the confusion of the red headed knight.
After calming the queen down, it was discovered that L’arc is the second prince of the kingdom of Shroud that went missing over four years ago and was presumed dead.
This, of course, was a huge shock to everyone, especially to Therese and her father as no one knew that Shroud’s second prince WAS missing. Apparently, the thought of her child being dead affected the queen so badly that the king made it a rule that no one was allowed to speak L’arc’s name.
Once everything was said and done, L’arc had to return to Shroud with the king and queen, This devastated Naofumi as he had grown really close to L’arc over the years and can’t imagine not having the goofy red head around.
However, Naofumi understood that L’arc needed to return to his kingdom. L’arc promised to write and to Naofumi whenever he could.
A years or so go by and true to his word, L’arc wrote to Naofumi almost constantly. It was usually him complaining about paperwork or what him and Therese were up to.
Whenever, Therese came to visit Naofumi’s kingdom, L’arc would always tag along. It was almost like L’arc had never left. however, tragedy struck.
One day, Naofumi received news of the king of Shroud suddenly falling severally ill. That was already enough to make Naofumi worry about L’arc, but it only got worse when news of the first prince’s, L’arc’s older brother, assassination spread.
Apparently, the first prince and a few of his companions were on a hunting trip, when they were suddenly ambushed by a group of cloaked assassins. while some of the hunting group had managed to get away with only a few injures, the first prince was sadly killed during the altercation.
With the first prince’s death and the king too sick to lead, L’arc was thrusted into the position of king.
Both Naofumi and Therese attended the first prince’s funeral as well as L’arc’s coronation ceremony as a way to support L’arc through the hard time.
At first, L’arc struggled at being king, but as time went on it got easier, especially with Therese helping out.
The relationship between the kingdoms of Shroud and Iwatani also improved even more. Before, the two kingdoms were simply on friendly terms, but in the few years L’arc took over as king, the Iwatani kingdom became Shroud’s biggest ally.
As years went by, L’arc, Therese and Naofumi were still very close and would visit each other as often as they could with their busy schedules.
By this point, Naofumi was twenty and was due to take over his father’s position as king in a few years as well as officially marry Therese.
One day, Naofumi decided to visit the royal library, where he found his younger sister reading in one of the plush sofas. He gave a quick smile, before heading into one of the many book shelves.
While searching, Naofumi noticed a book he had never seen before. Reaching up and grabbing the book from its place on the shelf.
On it’s cover read, ‘The Record of the Four Cardinal Heroes’, much to Naofumi’s surprise.
Naofumi has read the record of the four cardinal heroes many times throughout his life, this book looked different than the one Naofumi used to read.
Upon opening the book, Naofumi only grew more confused. The heroes the book described were NOT the heroes of legend. At least, not the ones Naofumi was familiar with.
Suddenly, the book began to glow as did the shelves and floor around him.
The last thing Naofumi saw before being transported was his sister’s fearful face rushing towards him, arm out-stretched to grab him.
The next thing Naofumi knows, he is standing in a room with three other men all holding a weapon and there’s a green shield stuck to his arm.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Personal Headcannons:
No one believed Naofumi when he told them he was a prince from another world and rumors about the shield being a crazy man who thinks he’s a prince spread.
Because of that, Naofumi didn’t even bother mentioning the fact he’s a prince to Raphtalia or Filo. it seemed pointless to him.
So imagine everyone’s surprise when Glass shows up during the wave and immediately recognizes Naofumi as the missing crown prince of the Iwatani kingdom.
Then Naofumi reunited with L’arc & Therese on Cal Mira Island.
The three other heroes and Naofumi’s party having to travel to Naofumi’s world and end up meeting his family.
Naofumi’s kingdom is styled more closely to medieval japan with some European elements and the palace Naofumi grew up in is that of a giant medieval Japanese castle and is WAY bigger than the castle in Melromarc.
The moment Naofumi & the others make it to his palace they are greeted by a grand welcome from the palace servants.
then a beautiful young girl comes running out of the palace entrance and quite literally tackles Naofumi to the ground. Naofumi then introduces her as his younger sister.
Motoyasu 100% tries to flirt with Naofumi’s sister (much to his disgust & annoyance) and either gets harshly slapped or threatened by her.
Naofumi’s sister was undoubtably pissed after hearing about what her older brother went through from Glass, L’arc & Therese.
She’ll act VERY cold if not out-right hostile towards the other heroes (except maybe Ren, but that’s up for debate).
She has a particular hatred for Motoyasu because A). he was one of the people who actively made life for her brother harder and B). HE”S AN ANNOYING CREEP WHO CAN’T SEEM TO TAKE A HINT AND REALIZE SHE’S NOT INTERESTED IN DATING HIM!!
To Naofumi’s party though? She’s the sweet, doting big sister of the group.
Seriously, she loves to shower Filo & Melty with affection and sweets and acts like something of a close personal friend to Raphtalia.
Naofumi’s sister is also the first person to find out his & Therese’s relationship with L’arc when he was Naofumi’s personal knight. after catching the three coming out of a room together looking like they just got down with some kind of intense training.
She didn’t say anything as the three quickly left upon noticing her presence. But she did make a subtle joke a dinner that nearly caused Naofumi choke on his food.
She will NEVER let Naofumi live that day down.

WHUMP TAKE:
Not sure if there are many out there interested in shield hero whump, but I’ve got such a good fic idea.  If ya’ll are interested of course.
From what we can tell in the very beginning, Naofumi cannot touch any weapon that isn’t his assigned shield. If he does, there’s a painful shock and an issued warning.
Tumblr media
Even before his Duel with Motoyasu, he attempts to hold a sword and earns a shock with another warning. And he was just running his fingers along the hilt.
There’s so many possibilities with this rule. It implies even making contact with a ‘non-assigned weapon’ could result in an electric shock. Meaning Naofumi cannot touch other weapons, at all. (Of course, I could be wrong. But if it is true, oohohoooo. The possibilities!!)
Tumblr media
I imagine a scenario playing out where Naofumi is injured. (This could be during or after a battle. depending on the writers fancy) The weapon still embedded. He attempts to remove it and instead is met with a painful electric shock. And of course, a warning.
And before it is said that it can’t be possible. The scenario would be if it’s a weapon. For example. In Episode 3. Naofumi is struck by a porcupine monster. He is able to remove it because it’s organic matter, not a weapon.
Tumblr media
There’s so much that could be done with this!!
Being pinned by a sword or a spear. Naofumi desperately gripping the weapon to take the pressure off. But only to be met with pain.
The assailant twisting it in further.
Being unable to remove the one thing causing him pain.
Needing Raphtalia to remove it for him.
And if she couldn’t. Him screaming against the shock as he rips it out.
 Could you imagine the ANGST.
To imagine the situation where this would be happening is also up in the air. He could be in a fight with the other heroes. It could also be discovered at an unexpected moment. Fighting bandits. Or a lucky hit in battle.
The first thing that comes to mind is Motoyasu being our whumper. That guy always has a bone to pick with Naofumi, even after his name has been cleared.
Motoyaso using it to his advantage, just to make Naomi suffer. It would be even better if this happens before Naofumi is cleared before the court. The guilt that would set into the other heroes. Knowing they enjoyed seeing Naofumi hurt.
Love it.
I’ve been wanting to write whump fanfiction for a while now, just having trouble gathering up the confidence. But if there’s anyone who would like to pop into messenger and chat further. I encourage you to! :D

I honestly don’t blame Naofumi for stooping to buying a slave. Dude needs a party member. An offense to his defense. One that he can trust to not lie to or betray him. And I don’t blame him for distancing himself like he does.
And I can also safely say Naofumi is one of my favorite male anime characters. Specifically because of how he treats Raphtalia. He might have purchased her as a slave and even said, rather coldly, that “slaves aren’t people,” but he proves pretty quickly that’s not truly what he believes. He treats Raphtalia as a person. Doesn’t push her too hard, makes sure she eats when she’s hungry, holds her when she wakes up from a trauma-induced nightmare, even gets her a ball to play with when she shows interest in one, and of course most importantly, doesn’t abuse her. She’s a slave in name only. Sure, he definitely treats her a bit coldly at first, but he doesn’t hurt her (outside the slave mark hurting her when he commanded her to fight so she’d get over being too scared to fight). His cold demeanor is purely because of his experience. He doesn’t want to get too close to her so he doesn’t get hurt when what he believes to be the inevitable betrayal that’s coming comes.
They really fucked him up. But also, Raphtalia was pretty fucked up by her experiences too. They’re exactly what the other needed. Raphtalia managed to heal a bit from her trauma thanks to him, and later on, her companionship and loyalty to him (that goes beyond the slave mark) helps him heal a bit from his. They could not have gotten luckier. Neither of them could have.

This is an animatic idea I thought of for Elijah Renard! I'm uh prob never gonna do it also cuz I know my android bitchass of a tablet would do the equivalent of blue screening on me lmao
Song is Constellations by The Oh Hellos
You should give it a listen!
Tw for uh suicide attempt cuz woo boy imagine you already hate yourself and your life and you get stuck with an actual concrete and real person/thing telling off how many times ya fucked up and controlling you to do things against your will O_O
Anyways hope uh you can visualize it but uh hope ya like the idea ig lol
"I can feel it on my tongue
Brick and mortar, thick as scripture
Drawing lines in the sand and laying borders as tall as towers"
During these lyrics it's a montage of Elijah, with wings, helping rebuild Raphtalia's village. He helps bring big planks of wood to playing with the kids. He looks on fondly at Naofumi while holding one.
"I babble on until my voice is gone"
Elijah talks to Naofumi, probably showing a new work in progress for blacksmithing or painting project.
"This hill I'll die on is about 90 meters of bricks
Colored indigo and inscribed with my name, and lined with cedar
But the words fall flat like cymbals crashing
Like molars gnashing"
It's a flashback from Elijah's time in the first wave, which had a monster bite his arm off. He runs and runs through the blizzard, seeing his comrades get overtaken and falls, losing what feels like a pint of blood. He then feels something lift him off the ground and into something of an eye of a storm with frost and snowflakes flowing around him. He then sees a hand and takes it.
"Cause like constellations a million years away
Every good intention, every good intention"
We see him and Finnely, she's hugging him, and has blood on her overalls and pink lacey shirt he knitted for her.
Elijah is holding his axe for dear life, scared and eyes wide like a prey animal.
He's covered in blood and surrounded by bodies of men that were trying to kill them, but were still alive.
"Is interpolation, a line we drew in the array
Looking for the faces"
A week or so of traveling after meeting Naofumi at the ill-sicken north town he meets and promises to take three demi-human children to safety. They meet bandits and he brutally hurts one terrifying the kids.
"Looking for the shapes in the silence"
He sees Naofumi on the road and they both are surprised, and Elijah is terrified.
"All that's left for me to climb
To the heavens is the chasm of the night
And a matter of time, but I hear the rumble
As the tectonic plates start to shake
And I feel my blood pounding like the beat of a drum"
Basically the spirit turtle arc+other world arc
*instrumental*
Throughout we see Elijah flying and he's on the cliff edge. Naofumi comes into frame, brows furrowed with more concern than real anger.
He tries to grab his hand and the once winged man tears away in favor of leaving everything behind with the rocky below.
He hates his curse. He hates the axe. He hates the taunting voice of The Raven.
He hates himself.
Elijah takes the plunge but Naofumi takes him by his hand screaming at him and gets the crazy man on solid land.
"Cause like constellations a million years away
Every good intention, every good intention
Is interpolation, a line we drew in the array
Clinging to the faces
Clinging to the shapes in the silence
Like constellations imploding in the night
Everything is turning, everything is turning
The shapes that you drew may change beneath a different light
And everything you thought you knew
Will fall apart, but you'll be all right"
Naofumi screams the lyrics while crying and holds Elijah near him to make sure he's still here. And as he holds him, Elijah too is crying.
Naofumi says "you'll be alright."
Their family nears them, to check if they're ok, and are relieved that the crisis has been averted!
