Both are highly competent at what they do

Neither care for outsiders’ perception of them, thus considered to be eccentrics

To an extent, both enjoy solitude (Alhaitham obviously does, Hu Tao character story 2 - she likes disappearing for periods of time)

Both stick to their ideals (Alhaitham’s rationalism, Hu Tao’s ideas of life and death as seen with how she first perceived Qiqi but changed her views later)

Both seen as vaguely annoying by their friends lmao (Hu Tao’s pranks, Alhaitham direct way of speaking)

Both have an appreciation for literature (Alhaitham more so all knowledge and books in general, whereas Hu Tao loves poetry…. Lowkey they’d probably bond over music too)

Beyond this Blake stuff being juicy gossip, I beg of you all to read up on it and learn how PR firms use social media to form narratives and spin public opinion for and against celebrities. It’s also done in politics.

Have you ever fallen for it and gone after someone who was the target of a smear campaign? If so, it’s ok to admit it. It’s easy to do. Learn for yourself and be better next time. Think to yourself “is this actually real? Or am I letting my biases win?” Sometimes the people you want to dislike are terrible people. But often they are simply imperfect and you want to believe the worst. Or you love them and want to believe the best spin. You can often tell if you wait a minute and think about it a bit that you may be falling for old Hollywood tricks (that are also widely used in politics) which have only gotten more sophisticated in the age of social media. And the fact is that the they all do it. Even the “good ones,” whoever you may believe they are, use these same sorts of tactics to sway public opinion. Or they at least try.

This is all very similar to the tactics used against Taylor in 2016. Also, imo, orchestrated, or at the very least, facilitated by scooter.

Just tripped and fell into a what-if scenario:

Of course, this is the best case scenario sillytimes version. Serious version? Jonathan only manages half of the process before some Good Samaritans tackle him; and likely get cut in the process. I bet he could chop Dracula's head off, but not manage the heart-piercing in time. He gets dragged off to jail. The Count's two pieces get taken to the morgue. And now Van Helsing, the Suitors, and Mina are all on a ticking deadline to stake Dracula's heart before sundown with Important Witnesses present to prove Jonathan's innocence and sanity in the slaying...

And if and when that happens?

That means the Drac Attack Pack are responsible for bringing the reality of vampires into the public awareness.

Imagine the can of worms that would open around them, around the whole concept. Their original plan to head to Castle Dracula to end the Brides gets a LOT of extra tagalong company. Photographers are there. Ditto shady government sorts who, of course, are eager to investigate a way to turn vampirism into a benefit to the Crown. The Drac Attack Pack would be swamped with sensationalism. It'd be a circus.

Which all adds up to a belated understanding for me about just why Dracula had to get away from them in Piccadilly. If he had been caught and killed? God. What a mess it'd be.

How do I tell a friend that I think her use of punishment with her dog is worsening the problem she’s trying to solve with punishment.

I really like her but her young Doberman is very vocal…like opera singing yelling vocal when he’s experiencing feelings and it’s very clear that her correcting him with a prong is not quieting him down.

She really has it in her head that because he’s a Doberman he needs a “firmer hand” and correction in order to be trained properly, and it seems like the people she meets within the breed and at dog shows are really pushing that mindset on her as well.

Idk it just makes me kind of uncomfortable when we’re out together with our dogs and she’s correcting him frequently for behaviors that are very rooted in emotion.

I also have yet to actually tell her that I’m completely positive reinforcement/LIMA based in my training bc I worry that she will look down on me for it (I’m pretty sure that’s my anxiety and comes from talking to people like my dad about it though)
