I find it super ironic that my first post is about shipping when that's already what all of fandom focuses on lmao.

Anyway I'm halfway through A Dangerous Path on my reread and I just cannot get behind Fireheart x Sandstorm. And it's on both of their ends.

Fireheart does not spare her a thought. He doesn't realize her affections until Cinderpelt points them out. After this he begins to see her as attractive, and shares meals and patrols sometimes, but his inner dialogue never views her as a close friend or someone to actually depend on like he does Graystripe and Cinderpelt.

Like he says when Cloupaw gets captured by twolegs, he feels he has no one left in ThunderClan, with Graystripe in Riverclan and Cinderpelt busy with med cat duties. And Sandstorm gets offended by this. Not hurt that her feelings aren't mutual, but angry at him and expecting him to make up for it.

And she continues to get angry and petty at him for not being the cat she wants. Sandstorm does have feelings for him, but she's so mean about it. When Fireheart discloses going behind Bluestar's back to prevent the battle with Windclan to all the warriors, she straight up recruits Dustpelt to bully him again for his actions. And all the other times she gets offended when he's busy and can't spend time with her. I just don't see any actual affection here.

I don't remember if a significant change happens in their interactions by the last book, but I just feel that they are not a good fit for each other lol

Can we expand Roddy's family? I want Firestar to be apart of it purely because of the fire. Percy just carries the fire gene, or maybe she's Roddy's aunt. Either way, I want her to take him to her friends when he's a bitty like "look at my little brother/nephew!" :D

Imagine Dratchet trying to ease Rodimus into their date nights, but Rodimus is being oblivious and really wants to dance, he thinks Drift wants to have a slow night by Ratchet's side, and can't blame him so he goes to dance with his big sister instead.

Originally I was "like these two would be able to tell that there isn't any romantic love" but basing this au off that one ask with them being jealous over Perceptor, yeah I don't think these dumbasses would be able to tell the difference until it was aiming a gun at them.

Maybe they emerged from the well and that's why they have no experience of carriers and sires. A cute little bonus to becoming conjunx with Rodimus, they can have a family. <3

Speaking of which, I feel like Firestar and Kup are more chill about Ratchet and Drift joining the family, but only because they got Percy being the scary one.

I know I said let's expand the family, but I can only think of Firestar. Actually, maybe Flareup is her daughter from a one night stand. Let's even add Spinister for the hell of it. I don't know his origins of where he came from, but it sounds funny.

I hate when people refuse to accept that their favorite character doesn't have any flaws and make entire essays on why they're a flawless saint. Cats like Hollyleaf, Mapleshade, Firestsr (on a smaller scale), Squirrelflight, Gray Wing. Okay, doesn't that make them a Mary Sue/Gary Stu? Like, you'll start making people hate a certain character because you refuse to accept that they have FLAWS and that's what makes them an INTERESTING and REALISTIC character. Characters in books are supposed to be complex.

Myrtlebloom told nightheart how any cat would give anything to be related to firestar and nightheart thought she had normal expectations from her normal kin. But isn't myrtlebloom related to firestar too?? I feel like this plot kind of falls apart when so many cats are related to him. Did the authors forget just how far firestsrs genes have spread?

I feel like a very simple thing that could be done to fix the fact that half of ThunderClan is related to Firestar yet Nightheart feels singled out would be just to establish in text as Squirrelflight’s line as the most legitimate Firestar line?

Leafpool’s kits were born of scandal and Cloudtail isn’t directly descended from Fire. So it would make sense if Squirrelflight’s line were seen as the true heirs to his lineage. With Nightheart as the first male warrior of this lineage it would definitely help explain how he feels pressure aside from the name. This is how I headcanon the situation anyway otherwise the whole “related to Firestar pressure” is utterly ridiculous at this point.

As it stands Myrtleblooms comments seem very stuck up and self righteous. Which would honestly work well if they continue to characterise her this way tbh, we need someone like that in the clan since Berrynose died.

- God poor Moira. This character assassination gets more painful with every issue.

- Emma wanted to make amends with Firestsr by SHOWING HER THE STABLES?!

-Anyone else annoyed by how Emma’s new Thing seems to be “men are shit and I hate them”? I’m not exactly Team Loving Men myself and being rather disdainful of them was always a trait of hers (though historically she’s not any better to other women, whatever current writers might try to claim) but it seems like they’re really amping it up lately and it’s coming off less as “yeah! Right on sister!” for me and more just eye rolling, but that may be a general dissatisfaction in general with everything right now.

Episode 46: Chapter 4-6

Chapter 4

Fireheart wakes up near what appears to be Fourtrees and sees the stars moving above him. Cats of StarClan then come down to greet him and give him his nine lives: Bluestar, Yellowfang, Spottedleaf, Lionheart, Redtail, Silverstream, Runningwind, Brindleface, and Swiftpaw. It's a harrowing process, but Fireheart--now Firestsr--is able to withstand it. The StarClan cats start to chant his new name in celebration, but they're interrupted by a massive pile of carrion and bones appearing behind Firestar. Bluestar gives him a prophecy that warns about something terrible coming. Firestar asks her what it means but he washed away by a sea of blood.

Chapter 5

Firestar wakes up, still terrified and dreaming of blood. Cinderpelt is also awake and the two of them silently make their way out of Mothermouth. Cinderpelt can tell something is wrong and tries to comfort Firestar, but they both need to get going first. Firestar confesses to her that he's always had prophetic dreams since he was a kit, though they're often hard to understand and Cinderpelt advises that he treat them cautiously. They end up resting at Ravenpaw and Barley's farm, where Firestar fills them in about what has happened recently with Bluestar's death and Tigerstar's latest evil plans. Ravenpaw expresses his dismay about what's happened as well as his determination to help ThunderClan against Tigerstar if the time comes.

Chapter 6

Firestar and Cinderpelt return to camp late at night. As news spreads, everyone excitedly comes to welcome them and ooh and aah over their new leader. Cloudtail in particular expresses how confident he is in Firestar's abilities while also condemning StarClan at the same time, which frustrates Firestar.

In the meantime, Firestar thinks about who will be his deputy, not wanting to anger StarClan like Bluestar. He also goes to see Sandstorm, who seems troubled and sad. He realizes quickly that she is worried that his becoming leader will create a distance between them, so he reassures her right away how much he cares for her. 

Graystripe later comes to Firestar to say that he knows Firestar would want him to be deputized (and he does), but it would be unwise because no one in ThunderClan trusts him. Firestar agrees and eventually decides to choose Whitestorm instead and he later makes the announcement to the clan. Whitestorm is a popular choice with everyone except Darkstripe, who hangs around being clearly evil as Firestar contemplates the future of the clan and Bluestar's prophecy.

I don’t remember clearly but I think Firestar lost a life in the fox trap Ashfur and Hawkfrost set up, so you could argue that although he didn’t “stay” dead Ashfur did ACTAULLY kill a person...
