Christmas dinner for myself: Loroco tacos with homemade chili and homemade tortillas lol.
A big feat with my back pain. I haven't had the energy to home-make tortillas in a while (even though it's super easy, and I refuse to eat store-bought bc these are way better).
#non-alc ponche is next but damn i need to fucking sit i had pt earlier#was gonna make pupusas but i didnt mix enough masa and said fuck it taco time#also dang i never had this salsa before its not hot enough lollll i made the chili mild so i could use salsa for heat ughh#its good tho i havent had a real meal in a while im usually only eating like 1 food per meal (like just the chili for lunch-dinner)#also also. my family always 'celebrates' on the 24th (moms side is finnish) so today is xmas to me#not actually celebrating this year tho bc i had an appointment and im in pain n didn't wanna be in the car more than needed#so normal day but im tryna make real food. gonna take me forever to clean the fruit next ughh#food#Christmas#Cori.exe#Image.exe#side note: i fucking love eating flowers. its such a weird compulsion but im glad theres edible flowers in the mexican market#(even tho they taste more like broccoli than fully bloomed flowers)#loroco#tacos#what do i even tag lol this is prob fine#ughhh im so full but i can smell the guavas next to me and im like drooling lol ive been eyeballing them since i got em#gonna be like 90% guava ponche lol (actually hawthornes too tho bc i got a lot of those as well)

In Norwegian 🇧🇻 :
Julenissen= santa claus (literally meaning: xmas santa) 🎅 -> very wholesome!
Jule nissen (with a space) = beating up santa ! 🤜🎅 -> not ok!
Ananasbiter = (pieces of pineapple) 🍍
-> wholesome/normal
Ananas biter (with a space) = the pineapple is biting 🍍😈 -> Run!
A space can do so much.
#there was a Norwegian guy who dedicated a whole facebook page and several books to this grammatical error#when you separate words that shouldn't be separated#for example “julenissen” means “santa claus” (lit: xmas santa)#however “jule nissen” means “beating up santa” 😂#I love when languages are like this!#finnish

re: this
Smth else that annoys me is that many of my fellow Finns don't give a flying fuck about Finnish culture until it is about something that isn't actually Finnish culture. Like the Karelian pirogs/kalittas/šipainiekkus, like, if a Finn is making them at home with a recipe they learned from their Karelian grandma, how is it away from the Finn that they're partaking in a Karelian food tradition? They obviously have the ""right"" to that tradition even if they exclusively identify as a Finn, it is their family tradition. Doesn't make it a Finnish one. Why do they get so butthurt about that?!?
I kind of wanna make some kinda guide to people who feel like they "don't have their own culture" that forces them to acknowledge their culture so they can stop whining about how disenfranchised peoples are sooo meeean for not "sharing", weeeeeh. 🤦
#it's this kinda majority myopia#when your people is in a position of power your culture is so normalised and everyday that you kind of lose track of it#did u kno the way we fold sheets is finnish culture? the handholes at the tops of duvet covers? rug-washing piers? leaving food out at xmas#straw and birch bark crafts? loads of foods particularly ones eaten during xmas and other feasts? sima? bonfires? sauna obviously???#not all of these things are exclusive necessarily but they don't need to be exclusive!!!#if the message u take home from karelians saying smth is karelian is that nothing is finnish then you're being disingenuous!#OF COURSE they'll goof like 'lol yea not all is stolen from karelians some is also stolen from sámi' bc UR BEING ABSURD!!!#it's not karelians' job to pat u on the back an console u!

I love how American Christmas songs are "yay it's Xmas yippee lala la la" while Finnish ones are basically "it's cold and dark and everything sucks, also there are some dead children".

what the fuck am I doing w my life
My Aasi, Morso ja Mouru OC, Lepattaa the Spanish (EVEN THOUGH SHES FINNISH BUT WHATEVER.) Moth
few facts ab Lepattaa
- she is a VERY famous moth(perhaps a singer?), hence her fancy clothing . She didn't like how rich and well known she was everywhere one bit, and wishing for some peace and quiet, she moved to the forest where she soon met Aasi and moved in w him! She moved in soon not long after Morso did.
- Speaking of Morso, she actually moved into the forest for another reason, maybe the possibly true reason.. she wanted to see a real Morso live for herself! Not one bit scared of the species, she has always had an odd fascination for the Morso species. She had planned to move out after seeing one for herself, but ended up eventually loving the forest and ending up residing there for good. She also ends up becoming Morsos girlfriend or something. LOL. Morso calls her Patty :] he is the only one of the three to do this
- After Mouru moved in, she did not like his ass one bit, finding him very annoying and his claims to know famous people even moreso (HAHAHA) they usually butt heads a lot of the time and can barely get along with one another even if their lifes depended on it
- Despite being the token girl of the group, this doesn't let this stop her from having as much fun as the boys do. She's horrible at Hide and Seek because of her bright colorful appearance however.
- She's usually seen floating rather than on the ground, very few times will you see her on the floor. Her flying has helped the group alot from time to time. (Such as EP 7 the xmas special, her flying abilities is what helped them get out of the snow and back home off screen)
- Despite being a moth, she is a few inches taller than Morso is. https://youtu.be/2lNFVcbcTcY?si=iOItPEhUuPeiHb9m
- The lesson of "Don't judge a book by its cover" from the show applies to her aswell, at first she looks appears to be very pompous and vain because of her luxurious lifestyle, but you actually come to find out she's a very nice and generous person underneath her artificial beautiful looks. (This may or may not work as an opposite to Morso. Haha)
- Voice Claim: Taru Tikkanen (Rarity, MLP: https://youtu.be/cEgCiHii5-M?feature=shared 1:12)
Yeah I don't know what I'm doing with my life anymore ☹️

Fandom Peeps to Get to Know Better
Tagged by @sunnythanalan, thank you!
Three ships I like: Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian (MDZS), Matsuoka Rin/Nanase Haruka (Free!), uhhhhhhhh Geto Suguru/Gojo Satoru (Jujutsu Kaisen)
First ship ever: this is a tough one... maybe Kyoraku Shunshui/Ukitake Jushiro (Bleach) ? If not first it's at least one of the first ones.
Last song you heard: Peacock Epoch by USSS (be warned that the lyrics are mildly suggestive)
Favorite childhood storybook: uhh this is finnish only, I don't think it's ever been translated to any other languages but "Tiitiäisen satupuu" (by Kirsi Kunnas). Idk what the word for them is in english, but it basically has a collection of story like poems meant for kids. It's pretty old (wikipedia says it was published in 1956, wow), but I used to have a newer copy of it as a kid and the poems in it are really fun.
Currently reading: Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation (MDZS) 4 by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. It was my xmas gift, so I've been reading it whenever I want to feel sappy about two idiots pining
Currently watching: Spy x Family second season. I think I have 2 episodes left..?
Currently consuming: Tea (mango & lychee green tea) and these tiny bread rolls we made earlier.
Currently craving: Candy... More specifically chocolate, as I ate last of my gift chocolates yesterday :c
#tag games#somehow every time someone asks me for ships i like i black out and forget every single show/game/whatever i've ever seen#so have 1 big one 1 old one and 1 i thought up looking at a list of things i've watched last year lol#specifically avoided xiv ones since i pretty much like all of the popular npc ships we have#like thanuri or everyone's favorite lesbian teens#so i felt it'd be a bit boring answer#and this way i can at least kinda mention what other stuff i've been into haha#ah also skipping tagging this time#brain is being mean this week ^^'#but as usual if you want to do it feel free to tag me!#even if you are battling the same mean brain days: tags for tag games and stuff are always welcome here okay?#oh and don't judge me for the song ihefiuefh#somehow it's always the suggestive utaite songs that have the most catchy beat#and then you turn on subtitles (or check them somewhere) and get jumpscared

what christmas tradition would you most like to do with nace?
I would take him to the church to sing xmas songs. Sad Finnish xmas songs really fit our really old church and also it perfectly captures the overall calm, maybe a bit longing, feeling of Finnish xmas.
A good second one would be to go pick and chop down a spruce for the xmas tree from the the bit of forest my dad owns.
