Hey what if

what if Noel has small gold flecks in his irises that are difficult to see and focus on but if you look really close they look like cracks and they're left over from the king breaking his mind

And when he first got out of the Dreamlands he thought it made it so the king could see everything he did kind of like John but like he can just look whenever he wants... Like a crystal ball lmao

So he was really paranoid for a long time but eventually he convinced himself the king wasn't watching but he still can't bring himself to look himself in the eye in any kind of reflection

I was drawing his eyes and it came to me like a vision

AND after he gets messed with by yellow in The Order episode, they get slightly more pronounced... Which maybe he doesn't notice until after he (hypothetically) gets out of the hospital in spain

Or like whenever he looks in a mirror next but I imagine it would take a while to notice since he avoids it anyway

OR MAYBE HE CHECKS ON PURPOSE BECAUSE HE HAS A HUNCH and then he confirms it and gets a panic attack

trying out a different brush pen for coloring!! this is a scene from chapter 10 of With All the Hope and All the Doubt by QueenScarletTheKing on ao3 :) it’s part 2 of a series, and I highly recommend checking it out for a fun au, hilarious and emotional writing, the boys being dumb, nimona being a cat, and a great journey of how anxiety is different depending on how you’ve lived!!!

I wasn't gonna make an Indigo Park oc but then I started thinking about the theme park I went to as a kid and I got the idea of a beaver running a ride based on water flumes like Logger's Run or Splash Mountain :3

They're also based on wildlife education characters like Smokey the Bear and Ranger Rick!

I read @strangerhawke's absolutely wonderful "The Way We Connect" series last week and those fics reached directly into my brain waves, grabbed me by the neck, and threw me on deck of the Noel/Arthur/John ship. And because now they're literally all I can think about, I just had to draw something for the series!

the statue had been there since before time. that's what some of the older folks were saying.

finley knew it was local folklore. no one knew the original artist that carved the three lovers out of stone, the records lost to time, and the myth that they'd existed before people did was an old one, surviving many generations.

finley could see why.

they often sat at the statue's feet, or a few meters away at the edge of the clearing, and they watched. the statue was always pristine, the townspeople took care of that.

but there was something ancient to it. or maybe less ancient and more

timeless.

the statue was a depiction of three people, tightly wound around each other in what looked to be a desperate embrace. none of their faces were visible from most angles.

finley found it curious. why immortalize someone only to hide their face?

finley's favourite place to sit was a bit off to the side, but close to the statue; that way they could see the face of the tallest of the lovers, and the skillfully crafted expression of love and grief.

such artistry, hidden from sight but for a single angle. and it wasn't even a convenient one. finley often got a stiff neck from looking up at that face for hours, through the intertwined arms of the other lovers.

it was a curious thing, this statue. tucked away in the forest, depicting such pain, yet no plaque in sight.

no names, no story.

finley wondered. about the artist, and the subjects, and the statue.

finley wondered often.

never did they find an answer.

First off, the Sadenverse is a universe created across multiple series that Saxon James and Eden Finley have either written separately or co-written together. There’s no one “right way” to read these books, so you might come across minor spoilers depending on where you start. Personally, I didn’t read them in any particular order. I began with the Puckboys series, moved on to the CU Hockey series, and then jumped into the Mike Bravo Ops series without worrying too much about the reading order. That’s when I realized what the Sadenverse really was.

While reading the Mike Bravo Ops series, I discovered two things: first, there is a suggested reading order that doesn’t follow the chronological publication dates, and second, there are over 25 books in this universe, with more on the way from both authors. People on TikTok and Reddit have been discussing the best order to read them in. I found a map that was both helpful and a bit confusing—if that makes sense. I recommend checking out ‘Steph Sometimes Reads’ on TikTok for guidance on the reading order or this map I found on figma. The authors also have a reading order on their website, though I haven’t been able to find it myself, but others have mentioned it’s there.

Honestly, I don’t think the reading order is as crucial as some people make it out to be. If you want to dive into the entire universe, go for it! But if you’re a moody or picky reader, just read what you feel like and check the synopses and warnings for each book. I plan to read the whole universe, but I’ll drop a book if the characters start acting too stupid—I’m not about to subject myself to that, I have things to do.
