This has probably been said before but good omens had made very clear aziraphale and Crowley's relationship at the end of season 1 for any doubters

Here Crowley says 'time to leave the garden,' like God had said 'the story ends as it began - in a garden,' not just referring to Adam young. The Garden of Eden represented their responsibilities as angel and demon, especially their very first responsibilities. Leaving the garden means leaving it all behind.

When they met in Berkeley Square, they met no longer as angel or demon but as lovers, 'the first meeting of two lovers in Berkeley Square.'

what pisses me off more out of anything, is having Charles driving a phenomenal race he can't even reflect on due to how frustrated and angry he is about losing the wcc, devastated while his teammate is just meters away smiling and all happy talking about how McLaren deserved it after doing nothing the whole race

the love charles has for that team is unmatchable its a shame it can't end on a wcc but it won't take away the phenomenal race and season he did this year proving once more why he is where he is

#you should find 2 hours for this im so serious it's so well done #i have such diametrically opposed feelings about arcane as a whole lol (yapping INCOMING)#like i looove the artistry i like season 1 i enjoy some SPECIFIC things they do in season 2 #but honestly watching season 2 overall is just me saying 'hm. kinda dont like that at all' over and over #and then getting one scene thrown in the mix occasionally that makes me insane #and then going right back to kinda being like hmm. not great #the more i sit with it the more im like 'oh 100% they planned this from the beginning' which SUCKS #cause like. if they just pivoted halfway through and made a catastrophic writing blunder it'd feel less bad #than many people committing to such a messy wishy washy grand scale vision from the start #at least season 2 gave me jayvik enjoyment. did not gaf about it until jayce went off the rails the second season 2 started #even tho i really like what season 2 does to jayce's character it comes at the cost of viktor's #jayce cant reckon with the quencies (consequences) of his selfish actions if he doesn't lose someone close to him because of them #which means making viktor the monster jayce created (and hextech)#and like that IS some great interesting texture to his character #the idea that jayce can shirk personal responsibility because he's only a tool for others' political endeavors #he can disavow weapons n then build them in the next breath and not feel guilt because he trusts others' ideas of what the 'right thing' is #but then when he finally does something selfish. when he overrides someone else's moral code for his own desires #(reviving viktor against his wishes and sending him down the path of nearly ending the world)#THAT'S when he recognizes how his own actions directly endanger people and that's when he suffers the most (going to Hell World)#and that's why jayce was able to stop viktor when nobody else could. yes he loves him but he recognizes how this was HIS fault #and is willing to finally take responsibility and die for it to truly save the most people possible #when so many others in the final conflict were fighting for personal reasons or no reason at all #and that's so good! that's a really great interesting character arc for jayce #but it comes at the cost of absolutely DESTROYING viktor and making him so emotionally inaccessible for the entirety of season 2 #like he has zero thoughts about anything he's doing. he philosophizes with singed and sky and none of it means fucking anything #because if viktor felt anything about what he's doing. he wouldn't do it #he's a passenger to the narrative's idea of how the arcane could pose a massive threat through a simulacrum of viktor's league lore #humanism pushed too far to the point that humanity is inferior etc etc but viktor never instigates it #its always outside forces using viktor as a vehicle for their own goals and him being like what the hell. sure #like even ghostly sky directing viktor to that SPECIFIC spot in zaun to become jesus does not feel like viktor's own choice

Someday I’ll stop reblogging arcane critical posts I’m sure but fjskdjsksjs my cousin finally finished and I was sent back into the hole that is ‘wtf was that I am actually so thoroughly dissatisfied with nearly every narrative choice they made now that I’m not being blinded by emotions’ and i fear I’m no fun to talk to ab it for her 😂

The tags for this got Crazy but I stand by them 😂 (tho none of it is polished so, yk, don’t come at me if some stuff is a lil underbaked ok, I only got 30 sentences)

#she was still in her grieving jinx era #tbf to her it took me a day for my feelings to go from man the visuals were so stunning and the emotional hurt from vi and jinx #to actually analyzing but like #on nearly every level for the characters I was dissatisfied #yes even echo #bc whERE were the firelights #and I KNOW all of it boils down to #they did not care to tell the story of a revolution #they just didn’t #so the characters have to drop every part of that until it becomes an afterthought #despite it being the driving tension of season 1 #Vi does not think on her actions at all which I’ve talked a bit more ab elsewhere so I’ll spare you #jinx has the most relation to that plotline but even then we don’t linger on it like I thought through isha we could go down and parallel #silco and vanders struggle.. silco wanting independence but not being able to trade his daughter vander putting down his gloves to make sur #they were safe #and jinx who really didn’t care that much ab the politics presumably channeling that same energy into fighting for independence for isha #could be so good… esp if it was combined w a storyline where Vi recons w her own identity outside just a protector of jinx #and then echo and his firelights building community and fighting for his ppl like #do u see what I’m saying #for sevika I think wld have been rlly interesting to show her shift from follower to leader bc she has always wanted what’s best for zaun #but has always simply backed whoever she thought would get it done #I think her taking more agency in it was a good choice I also think her and ekko shld have some sort of interaction #and Mel should have beat her mom with her own strengths. her political savvy. her cunning. and her ideals. and should have pushed for an #independent zaun bc I think Mel wants peace and I think if the story cared to go the revolutionary way she would have known what the right #thing to do was. also her mom shld not have suddenly been stupid. after pushing for the war and finally getting the weapon advancement rout #she wanted maybe she does something else. but also I think Jayce and Viktor realizing what they have created w their science was a good plo #it’s not the technology it is how you wield it and how you develop it and then realizing what they’ve done was always good. I hate the pivo #to oh yea it’s actually the magic is bad.. like.. ok. intrinsic magic good. magic to better the society and cure ppl badddd (tho that’s not #where they ended up but the story made it seem like yea the arcane is just bad nd it corrupts if you ask too much of it ??#arcane critical
