.BEYOND THE VEIL.
CHPT 1. EP 4.
Naomi does some more research into Emet Galvus, and finds out some interesting beliefs people have about the elusive man. Finally receiving a reply from him in her online mail, she prepares to meet him for the interview, while Emet prepares to welcome her.
Transcript under cut:
Naomi: Let's see here ... "Emet Galvus".
Naomi: “Emet S. Galvus IV” … I don’t think I’ll find anything freaky about this guy on his simpedia page, and anyways, I already checked it. Might want to study it for later though… (*click*)
Naomi: “Emet S. Galvus IV is a businessman and CEO specialized in the manufacture and distribution of technological goods such as home security products.” … huh?
Naomi: “Rumors and speculations”…?
Naomi: “Emet Galvus has been the center of theories and rumors for the past few decades. These include the beliefs that he may be a member of an elite secret organization working with the government, a vampire lord - with the added rumor that the four Emets that came before him were all him, and other speculations in the same vein, such as him being an alien in human skin.” … Oh Helen, you are too easily scared. How did you ever enter the business course of Britechester with such a gullible mind …
Naomi: Speak of the devil … the old man finally replied, huh? A bit quick for such a supposedly busy man …
Email: [Ms. Grey,
Pleasure to make your acquaintance. I would not normally allow for an interview with someone unaffiliated and unverified, as publicity is of course always a risk with the publicly known, and I have no free time to take risks for strangers. However, I happen to have some free time, as I have stepped back from the public eye. I will allow you to interview me, on three conditions. I would like for you to come to my manor, as I have to keep an eye on my granddaughter and do not care for babysitters. You will not interview her, and I would advise you do not interact with her at all unless she initiates it. And lastly, I would like to review what you write. I hope you find these terms satisfactory.
Regards,
Emet S. Galvus]
Naomi: A bit pompous … but what else should you expect … Oh Mrs Shwider, how I wish it was you instead …
Naomi: (groaning) Al-right, time to get ready then. Wouldn’t want to make Mr. CEO wait for little old me now, would we?
Emet: …
Emet: (Turning off computer) Maxima, we have a guest coming over soon.
Emet: I would tell you to play nice …
Emet: But I wouldn’t want to ruin your fun.

It seems like I'm really unlucky when it comes to characters I really like, doesn't it...?
Does it make it worse that Uehara/Lager was just an unimportant Anime-Only Filler Character?

When have we, as a society, decided that filler episodes are bad and unnecessary?
My parents have been watching Supernatural for some weeks now and I remembered how many filler episodes there were. I’m watching Greys Anatomy rn and guess what: Also a bunch of filler episodes. It was such a normal thing for us back then, and with six episode shows I understand the criticism, but for a show like tlou with 9 1h+ episodes? Yeah y’all just don’t appreciate film and tv as an art form.
