I usually don’t care about how people interpret text, but I’ll throw hands with anyone that says James Farrow is dead

It's the middle of September. Time to rewatch Dead Poets Society and re-read If We Were Villains and have yet another heartbreaking experience.
the way I keep on keep on throwing myself towards tragic stories knowing they are tragic is insane, get me alcohol for surviving this combo

I saw a video of someone who had just read iwwv, saying they were surprised about the “gay” in the ending and that it was unnecessary.
…have we been reading the same book? That boy spent the first half of the story describing how pretty and talented his roommate was and you really thought there was nothing suspicious? I mean of course it was gonna be addressed, their dynamic is one of the things that carry the plot!
Idk maybe straight people are just oblivious but I was like 20 pages in when I went “oh yeah those two. Those two are gay.”

"Whatever we did—or, more crucially, did not do—it seemed that so long as we did it together, our individual sins might be abated. There is no comfort like complicity."
Had to make a presentation for my creative writing class and I liked these slides enough to post them ehe :)

to people who moved on from IWWV - what kind of sorcery do you practice? what witchcraft is it? wdym you don't think about it everyday? wdym you don't think about oliver spending 10 yrs in prison to protect james? james and oliver finally knowing how they both feel just to get separated again? or oliver's "It's not the whole truth. The whole truth is, I'm in love with him still" monologue?
