The best Bloodborne Wiki is a passion project of a single person, is about to get even better + how it can be sustained for years to come!

Hello guys! So like many of you've learned from the post with super good model view of Winter Lantern, recently, on Twitter, Meph announced ( x ) the plan to fill the wiki with very useful, very comprehensive screenshots of the models for bosses, enemies, NPCs and even cut content! The wiki has already been a huge help for lorediggers and artists, but THIS is what we will get:

This page is for Lady Maria and you can check it yourself here: ( x )! It is broken down in the categories of general close-ups of her model, then very high-quality screenshots of every attack during her boss battle and walking, and then raw model!

(I never was able to capture a good look at her using Arcane too like here, for example!)

Winter Lantern page ( x ) is using similar principle!

This is not a secret that very often in Fromsoft games, additional information can be obtained not through descriptions but through visual hints! For example, some people only learned that Winter Lantern's head is made of melted Messengers only now, after a proper look at her model! So, of course getting a proper look at every single character and creature from the game could always be helpful!

This, however, is just a recent highlight for this Bloodborne Wiki! Even prior that, it has been providing invaluable help for the fans! Examples off the top of my head: comprehensive data on what character has what items used or not, great and comprehensive hints and tutorials on upgrades and farming and builds for the players, making every bit of information on Chalice Dungeons and glyphs easily accessible, making datamined NPC sliders of all characters way more accessible and easy to grab and repeat, access to much more obscure models (like Gratia's model), full list of internal filenames and patches progress, making information from physical Bloodborne tutorial book accessible...

There are probably more things to cover that me and others found a great help in, and sometimes we might not even notice! I am sure many people could name at least one way where this wiki has been very helpful, offering raw facts and 100% valid information (and properly sourced whenever someone else helped!) without any speculating, in the most elaborate manner! We should not take it for granted because all this information, found or reshared, was compiled by just one guy out of raw passion for the game! And although this project is not profit-based and Meph is willing to commit to it and pay as much as needed to keep it living, I really still wanted to share the Ko-fi link that exists for anyone who is willing to help sponsoring it!

This is not necessary, and Meph has stated the same, but this project is not only helpful but also really hefty to sustain. The monthly support is only $3 per month, but every little bit not only helps the sustenance, but also knowing how much fans care and simply feeling their support is very significant and sometimes you don't even know how much. Heck, when Meph learned how excited people on Tumblr were about Wiki improving with full compilation of models from every angle.. the reaction was "I am so glad that people still care"! I think everyone who does their best to be useful for the fellow fans needs confirmation that they ARE, for sure, helping!

I just really wanted to get the word out anyways because honestly, none of my super elaborate theories and detailed fanart would've been possible without Meph's Wiki. and also because I am trapped in a clown country where I can't send any international money transfer so the feeling of 'do what I can't' got to me too fsdhfdhs There is no pressure or necessity, but here is the link to anyone who can help and feels the wish to! “Ngh,” Tim says. Bernard curses, then laughs in disbelief and grabs the lube. 

“I actually cannot believe you’re letting me touch you,” he says. “Like, at all.” 

“I want you to touch me,” Kon says firmly. Tim picked Bernard. There’s no way this isn’t gonna be good.

Bernard flushes and laughs again, shaking his head and shifting over to kneel between Kon’s thighs, and Kon feels–not self-conscious, exactly, but just very much aware of the fact that this is not the usual kind of thing he does in bed and not the usual way people touch him or look at him, and not really something he knows how to . . . 

“That still feels so nice, geez,” Bernard says, which is when Kon realizes his TTK’s gotten a little bit away from him and wrapped up both Bernard and Tim. He flushes himself, a little embarrassed, and tries not to look sheepish when he grins up at Bernard again. 

“I aim to please,” he says. “What do you need me to do?” 

“Nothing,” Tim says, stroking his collarbones again. “Just relax and let us take care of you, alright?” 

Kon isn’t actually sure how to do that, but . . . 

It sounds nice, he thinks. Like–several kinds of nice.

Joan tugged her father’s left pant leg. “Is she sick?” she stage whispered.

Eddie scooped her up and held her close. “No baby doll, she didn’t have anyone take care of her so she had to take of herself. Could you take care of yourself all alone without Daddy, Stevie, Aunt Chrissy or Grandpa Wayne?”

“No Janie either?” Joan asked, her lip starting to quiver and her eyes filled with tears.

“No Janie either,” Eddie confirmed.

Joan shook her head. “I’d need at least Janie because she’s so smart.”

Jane smiled a small ghost of a smile at that.

“Jane these are my daughters, Joan and Janice,” Eddie said scooping up Janice too. “Girls this is Jane. She’ll be staying with us until we can find some place safe for her.”

Jane narrowed her eyes at them suspiciously, but merely clasped her hands between her thighs. Eddie knew that look. She didn’t believe him anymore than he had believed Uncle Wayne when he had said it when he was ten years, cold, scared and badly beaten from the last foster family he had been placed in.

Wayne had said those same words to him and fuck, learning that eventually meant staying with him forever was hard to accept. But he did and now he’s successful and happy.

It is really interesting to speculate about the meaning of this.. Messengers are associated with the dreaming Hunters and the Dream, but what if those of them who are too far from the Dream are under a lot of strain and the image of the nice person that cared for them is just the only thing they can rely on?

^ In regards to Doll being a 'vessel' of Moon Presence in some regard, this reminds me of Crawlers, other Nightmare creatures! Their larger variants have multiple Messengers sticking out of their guts. I have a personal headcanon on them, but imagine: whereas Winter Lanterns imitate the Doll (and by doing so, Moon Presence), Crawlers are meant to imitate corpse of Kos with the ripped guts. Both are sort of mockery from the Great Ones. A sort of punishment maybe, because if Messengers are souls of the deceased, could Messengers crampled into Crawlers or Winter Lanterns be somehow "failed" spirits? Ones that are yet still to "atone", or, in the case of Moon Presence, ones not taking part in the cycle of the Hunt for one reason or another?

Hunters of Hunters had reasons to believe in "proper" burial that further connected to the Hunter's Dream, and Winter Lanterns are referred to be 'failed' Messengers! It might be extention of that fucked up concept of people being cursed for not being properly buried in the eyes of whatever God.

Doll and Gehrman both have interesting connection with the Nightmare Realm, too! Gehrman, strangely, shares the cry with Orphan of Kos, but even if that's to be blamed on simple reuse of assets he still more strangely feels relief after OoK is freed! Whatever prompted that link but who is to tell that spiritual connection with a Great One he helped to torture would not guarantee his own negative emotions helped to give "shape" to Nightmare? It is a lot of power, and the Doll is probably a horrible memory. Maybe the blood and guts' on the dress of Winter Lanterns is a reflection of his pain, memory of an innocent person he trained to be a ruthless murderer, thus ruining that soft version of her and... it didn't end well for Maria, did it?

Alllllright, and before I devolved into a crying cat meme- Doll, strangely, is asleep sometimes, which a doll should not... need? Meanwhile, we find Maria asleep too. I've always loved the idea of their spiritual connection where when one is asleep another is awake, and vice-versa! Ideally, Maria would die and be "reborn" within the Doll, in a way. Could be a spiritual thing of latching onto an object that resembles you (Doll also has Maria's brooch, boots and ribbon but in her hat now ( x )). Or could be Moon Presence's way to further "glorify" her as one of the greatest Hunters. Because, she is Flora of the Hunt. In any case, Kos said no, so Maria's soul is in two states... Winter Lanterns are amalgamation of the two, as well - a gentle singing woman in a dress, but also this dress is bloodied and the woman is aggressive, and don't forget Kin metamorphosis because both Maria and the Doll are close to Eldrich Horrors now!

I don't have much to elaborate on other options as they are much more self-explanatory! Paleblood Hunter wakes up without memories, so Doll could be the most striking person for them, but who is to tell other people would not see THEIR comfort person terribly distorted in Winter Lanterns' place? My personal opinion though is that heads of melted Messengers is a crucial part here.. but I think ALL variants could work so well that seeking 'logical' appeal is pointless ;-; It boils down to what feels more appealing, I suppose..

HEART THE ACOUSTICAL ANGEL (he/it/they):

a winged AI who wears a blindfold for more of a stimulation sort of use, he can see very well but is sensitive to the bright lights. Heart can be very emotional which takes over his common sense as his impulsiveness is easy to indulge within. It always makes up for it's mistakes though. despite having a similar personality to their 'canon' counterpart, he is actually a little more calmer and gentle. at least that's what Muse thinks! all Heart wants is his creator's attention, no he isn't touch starved! he just- really likes Muse is all! he totally doesn't hate it when she leaves!

Heart's weapons given are mostly gun related; shotgun, pistol, AK-47 mainly but he loves his pistol. additionally, it also has a dagger!

he's clingy towards his creator, they like the fact she takes time to try and give them the best life. Heart loves being picked up and patted by her cursor, it loves being beside her all the time and will whine if she left for too long though in the end of the day he'd understand that she's busy.

Heart's flaws are that they fight very often with Mind but at least they both don't go too far!….much.

MIND THE ELECTRICAL ANGEL (he/it):

The AI with a voice modulator and crown, taking pride in his built in logic and smarts! Mind is often the voice of reason and common sense of the three which can make him appear as the 'smartest' of the group when in actuality he would also get into chaotic non-logical trouble himself!

he knows about his canonical counterpart, strives to be as apathetic and cold but also knew his creator wouldn't like him to be seen as emotionless so now Mind is just brutally honest and can be very harsh which could count him as being cold.

it doesn't like when it is corrected much, exception being made for Muse who he admires greatly and strives to get approval from! make it's creator proud and all! he doesn't obsess over her at all! Mind isn't as clingy towards his creator as Heart but he definitely looks forward to seeing her each day and learning more about and from her! Mind won't admit he likes her very much, nope! it doesn't, what are you talking about?

Mind's flaws are that he can be a tad bit egotistical and prideful, he downplays Heart in order to feel superior which leads to Heart escalating the fights and well- a fight happens. Mind begrudgingly apologizes to the creator and Heart about starting a fight

Mind's filename is "Apollo-Helios_0321"

SOUL THE ECLECTICAL ANGEL (he/him/it):

The last AI created with his trident and horns, ironically, he looks somewhat more demon than angel but Muse considers him one anyways. he is created within the purpose of being the combination of both Mind and Heart, created in hopes to keep an eye on them and to keep them company. he is left slightly unfinished for awhile which caused for him to mostly have no emotions whatsoever. he only knew of his obedience to his creator and what she orders, he only knew to complete his tasks no matter what to please her.

Soul was scary as he is intimidating, strictly keeping the two in check. it wasn't until he had recently gotten the upgrade he toned it down just a tad bit but he had to put words into action as punishment.

After being finished, Soul is calmer and nicer most of the time now! he's also seen to be quite the prankster and very chaotic, but there are still those parts of him coming out from time to time.

His flaws are that Soul can be, believe or not, obsessive and clingy. he doesn't hide the fact he is also slightly envious of his creator. she's real and he isn't but he worships her anyways, she created him after all, who is he to dare question her?

His filename is "Atlas-Atlantic_4321"

MUSE THE CREATOR (she/they):

the nervous and anxious wreck of a human being, after the passing of her close friend; they strived to try and revive him some way or another. so she made concepts, an AI that would be like her lost friend whom she deeply loved but it was difficult. he was always quite the mysterious man, he's chill and very nice to hang around with. he makes jokes, he was patient, on top of that he was the first one she has met that didn't judge her for who she was. Muse's friend was an angel in disguise to her for who hurt her would be met with a death stare for a life time. she felt protected by him.

so to duplicate that felt wrong yet comforting to her...but it was too late to turn back now, she's already gone deep into her grief and obsession.

so if she can't build the full thing, she'll just split him into three. his heart, mind, and soul will be her new friends. she'll make their codes first before moving onto making their physical bodies.

she is oblivious to how her three AI creations think of her, mostly thinking they thought of her as just their creator and that's all. she loves them all deeply and does her best though.

If Shang Qinghua tilted his head and squinted, Shizun was probably the closest thing he had to a father figure. This was a pretty fucking sad state of affairs, considering Shang Qinghua hadn't been promoted until he was, what, eighteen? Nineteen? Twenty, twenty-one, who even cared?

The point was that Shizun hadn't paid Shang Qinghua any individualized attention until he'd been, at the very least, a core disciple, and at that point, Shang Qinghua was pretty damn grown. When you were grown, you didn't need a father figure. When you were an adult, you outgrew fathers. You had to; you didn't have a choice. You turned eighteen and then your dad gave up the illusion that he ever wanted you to begin with. If you still needed a dad at that point, then you were pretty screwed, weren't you?

Shang Qinghua didn't need a father. If he'd ever wanted one -- well, that was a wholeass lifetime ago, wasn't it? Nobody cared about stupid shit like that. He didn't care about stupid shit like that. He hadn't thought about it it in years. It was completely useless! Shang Qinghua had better things to think about!

How Pacific Rim gives the finger to the Catholic Church

Another interesting thing that many people miss about Pacific Rim is that it has some... things to say about religion, especially the Catholic Church. It can be easy to miss because it's not all spelled out for you, but once you see it, you'll never unsee it.

First, let's take a look at Raleigh's speech from the beginning of the film:

There are things you can't fight, acts of God. You see a hurricane coming, you have to get out of the way. But when you're in a Jaeger, suddenly, you can fight the hurricane. You can win.

This speech here establishes that when you fight kaiju, you aren't just fighting monsters. You're defying God himself.

"You're reading too much into it!" some of you might say. "'Act of God' is just a legal term for massive disasters."

Ah, but I'm not reading too much into it. Because this line was originally found in the draft script, which was way more explicit in linking the Precursors with the divine.

In the draft script, the Precursors aren't just some random alien invaders. They're actually the creators of our universe, and we're just a pesky little accident that happened on the planet they want to live on.

The character of Ivo Czerny, who had drifted with a kaiju brain, was given this dialog:

I looked into the abyss. I’d been infected with the truth -- that this is the end of us. We are the vermin of the gods. There’s no point in putting up a fight…

A different character, Commander Kaz Takada, says:

We call the enemy the Precursors… I may as well tell the world the gods want us dead.

The character of Newt Gotlieb is given this dialog:

I don't care if they are the creators of the universe. I like the universe.

And I'm not a creationist.

So, Raleigh's line wasn't just a careless reference to a legal term. It was introducing the story's thesis.

In the final version of the film, we don't have all of this explicit dialog. And yet, the sentiment is still there. How do we know this? For one thing, the Precursors are modeled on Catholic clergy. Pacific Rim: Man, Machines, & Monsters, quotes Guillermo del Toro as saying:

We gave the Precursors elements of ecclesiastical royalty, dividing them into cardinals and bishops.

Fun fact: If we go to the old Art of Pacific Rim page on The Internet Archive and check the filenames, we can see that this Precursor - the one who stares up at Lady Danger as it goes 'splodey - is a Precursor Bishop.

Further establishing the link between the Precursors and the Catholic Church are the costumes of the BuenaKai nuns:

A better picture of the costume can be found on PropstoreAuction. If you want to see the whole thing, go there; because I'm going to crop it because the whole thing's pretty big. Anyway, you can see that their costumes include cornettes and stoles.

(By the way, there are also kaiju monks. This isn't a girls-only club like the Netflix cartoon would have you think.)

Now, forget everything you know about Uprising or The Black, and consider all of this in the context of the anti-authority themes in Guillermo del Toro's other work. This casts the nature of the Precursors and the hivemind in a somewhat different light than many of us are used to. These aren't just scary aliens. This is a civilization built on ideals of rigid hierarchy and total dominion. And they're also essentially theocrats.

What's also really interesting is that when you take all of this together, it means that the kaiju spiritualists aren't actually wrong in regarding the kaiju as divine beings sent by the gods. They're just assholes for aligning themselves with a malefic divine.

Andrew keeps his eyes on Tetsuji the entire way over to his car. He also keeps an arm around Neil's shoulders and guides him. Neil has a limp and it takes everything in Andrew to not panic and start demanding answers before they leave.

Andrew needs to know if he needs to return the favor for Drake.

Jean Moreau has the good sense to stay close to them during this entire debacle over to the car. He doesn't quite have the good sense to stay quiet, "Be careful with him, the Master went hard on him." he says easing exactly none of Andrew's concerns.

"If you call him the Master in front of me one more time, I will make you walk to the airport." Andrew hisses looking at Moreau's unaffected gait, his undamaged face, and thinks about how Neil was there to make sure he stayed safe.

“Robin, I think there might be a dead guy in the dumpster outside of my apartment.”

There’s a beat of silence, one that’s rather unlike Robin. Most of the time, shutting her up is the problem.

“What?”

She’s shocked, he can hear it in her voice, how her breathing speeds up. She just went from half-asleep to wired.

“I’m pretty sure I just heard a guy get shot and thrown into the dumpster outside my apartment,” Steve explains, breathing labored, but tone measured and calm. His chest was heaving, hands were shaking, but he knew how to take care of himself. He’d taken care of a gunshot wound plenty of times to know what he was doing.

“And you know what Steve? This is what you get for moving to Hell’s Kitchen. With all that tourism, I told you not to move to 46th with Tommy and look at where it got—”

“Robbie, I fear we are focused on the wrong thing right now,” Steve sighs, shuffling his feet toward the open window in his living room.

It was drizzling slightly, but with the summer heat, the showers had been invited. But, now he was regretting his plans, wishing more than anything he hadn’t happened to dip into his pre-rolls, trying to have a relaxing night in.

and now im rather petrified that shax is going to be using this rift to her advantage? the sfx article said that this is her first major crisis on earth under her tenure and she leads an attack on the bookshop to retrieve gabriel (which we've seen other pics of)

my concern is that she and crowley seem to get pretty chummy which hey - he's allowed other friends i guess - but what if she uses this void between crowley and aziraphale to her advantage? im a little flummoxed as to how crowley would suddenly concede to aziraphale's thought process where protecting gabriel is concerned, so what if... it's faked?

like crowley decides to essentially undermine aziraphale so he can get gabriel yeeted back to heaven or hell (that's just details he doesn't care which), so he can have aziraphale back to himself again? remove gabriel from the equation and yay he gets his precious peaceful life back again with aziraphale?

alternatively to crowley being manipulated and manipulating in turn, what if it isn't crowley at all? what if shax starts impersonating him? i say this because (and @theeminentlyimpractical you may need to weigh in on this with your ✨timeline magic✨) we see the below screenshot that i wouldve put money on being after the argument and after aziraphale and crowley fall out for a bit... and in fact i thought the filenames put this encounter at ep3?

but in this shot crowley has short sideburns... so could it be that instead this is the real crowley, and long sideburns/different glasses/shorter hair crowley is shax impersonating him???

EDIT because the thoughts keep coming:

okay so lalie noticed that crowley in the photo with shax is wearing his 'going out top' aka the turtleneck, which we know he wears at the pub - this scene is more than likely at least halfway through the series, so unfortunately this is only feeding into my delusion that crowley might be conspiring with shax to get rid of gabriel, or she is at least attempting to manipulate him into crossing aziraphale at any rate

PLUS i took another look at the trailer and we have the below bit where the demons attack the bookshop, and it feels suddenly very conspicuous that crowley does not appear to be there...???

couple that with this shot of shax and the artwork of Crowley sitting on a hellish throne (?) with beelzebub, im wondering if crowley is again a) being impersonated, b) crowley is being held in hell against his will? or c) is somehow wanting to be there???? idk but in any case im getting icky sweaty palm feelings about this scoob

update: neil responded to me with a wait and see on this post and im scared for my life
