The camera cuts back to Neil Josten as he looks at his surprisingly good marshmallow. “I don’t know how this happened,” he admits.

“Neil, that looks like a right marshmallow!” Noel pokes at it and lets out a laugh of pure delight as it wobbles appropriately.

“But is it a marshmallow?” Neil says with the American pronunciation.

“Now that, I could not say.” Noel puts a hand to his chin.

I neeedddd more Foxes on TikTok content! Them doing their own versions of trending videos and challenges like the "dress up as something that starts with your first initial challeneg"

Allison, looking ethereal dressed like a literal Greek God, glammed to the heavens: I'm Allison, I'm dressed as Aphrodite and it's the onw year anniversary of my boyfriends death so I better be the drunkest tonight.

Renee, wearing a real leather F1 jacket/jumpsuit that Allison for some reason has in her closet with a blow up steering wheel in her hand: I'm Renee, I'm a race car driver and I think Nicky might be the drunkest.

Andrew, dressed exactly the same as normal but has a stethoscope around his neck and a piece of paper saying "Aaron" duct taped to his chest just stares into the camera for 30 seconds until it's obvious Allison will not be leaving without an answer: when Kevin starts puking I'm leaving.

Once everyone has given their answer the video enda with a pic of Nicky and Kevin passed out in a bathtub together.

Or the Trauma Dump Candy salad video which goes off the rails immediately and PSU makes them take down 3 hours after posting

Zoom up of Kevin in full Queen Day sttess mode on the sidelines of practice with the sound "yes I'm a drama queen, but it's not by choice" playing over it and when it gets the "it's genetic" part the video zooms out to show Wymaxk next to him with the exact hand on hip, stressed look on his face

Renee doing the "actually I do cuss a little" sound while she's getting her gear on to spar with Andrew and when it reaches the "probably fuck" portion of the audio the clip switches to her taking Andrew downnnn. And then there's a beat drop just cause.

Upperclassmen scrolling through news articles or flipping through sports news channels rhag are reporting on them while miming along to "is this fucking play about us"

Some teammates, probably upperclasmen, definitely Nicky also miming along to "I'm sorry, not everybody fits in the bad bitch genre, it's a genre, not everybody fits on the he roster" while dressed in full exy uniform, with the caption "when you're coach only recruits the most traumatised bitches"

And forcing teammates to do "day in the life" "what i eat in a day as a member of the most fucked up exy team" and "ootd" videos.

Andrew (bribed with alcohol, ice cream and ten dollars) does a What I Eat in a Day as depressed mother of 3 whose forced to play stickball. There's no sound, its just the picture carousel style w block letters next to pics of his food:

Breakfast is a massive mug of hot chocolate with half a can of squirty cream and marshmallows.

Breakfast 2 is a big bowl of whatever sugary flavour cereal that's overflowing w E Numbers and almost illegal food dye you guys have in the US.

Snack 1 is a chocolate bar.

Lunch is a slice of pizza, fries and then there's a hand forcing salad onto his plate. Andrew adds a note to this pic saying "I'm allergic to green, Kevin's trying to kill me"

Snack 2 is a an energy drink and a cigarette

Dinner is a pint of ice cream

Midnight snack is just a pic of Neil which Andrew thinks is an obvious coming out without coming out vibe but everyone is immediately worried about Neil's safety and there endals up being a Reddit thread about Andrew being a cannibal.

Then they post a follow up video of Kevin reacting to this and he just watches on in despair saying "no. no. Andrew you have a nutritionist!"

Excerpt from Andrew First AU:

Now it’s taking everything in him to walk calmly through the fancy lobby of the fancy hotel with Neil following behind him and Neil’s face and hair covered by a hoodie. There’s no one in the lobby at this hour and Andrew pulls out his room key so they can head up to the penthouse.

Neil is swaying on his feet but Andrew is too angry to support him so he lets Neil slump slightly against the wall of the elevator.

They exit the elevator and enter the short hallway to the penthouse before Andrew uses his key to open the room that he has booked for the week.

“…Drew….I-I…” Neil tries voice shaking and Andrew just walks towards the bathroom without touching him. Neil follows along silently without finishing what he had been going to say. He’d booked this hotel due in large part to the bathroom.

He’d imagined this Neil getting his first taste of luxury here. The large soaking tub where this Neil could wash away all the grime, where Andrew could dye his hair to the right color, where Neil could relax and accept that Andrew was taking care of him now.

“Take out those stupid contacts.” He spits and Neil struggles to stand in front of the mirror. His hands shake as he takes out the contacts but Andrew finally has Neil’s eyes back. Neil stands there in front of the mirror unsure of what to do.

I've been listening to both the AFTG and TMD audiobooks while traveling recently. Some wires got crossed and an AU has been consuming my every waking thought.

For the other three and a half people that are also fans of both series, I present: an AFTG Murderbot Diaries AU

Hear me out- Andrew as Murderbot

When Aaron is a kid, Tilda sells his DNA to the Company without telling him in order to make a couple extra credits

In this AU, the company doesn't do memory wipes as often, so Andrew does in fact remember Everything

Everyone views SecUnit Andrew as this horrible violent killing machine that's barely under control, but he could honestly care less. What's important to him is protection, and keeping his humans safe.

Instead of being on meds, it's his Governor Module that's in control of him. When he hacks it, he still has to pretend to be under control or else he'll be killed. You see the vision

He gets loaned out on contracts with cruel clients, dumb clients, a rare few clients that treat him kindly (Cass?) and plenty more clients that treat him less than stellar

(Drake is a rouge CombatUnit) WHO SAID THAT

I'm an Andrew-likes-to-read truther, so after hacking his Governor module he spends hundreds of hours downloading trashy romance novels and watching the space equivalent of the great British bake off.

Eventually he's put on contract with the Monsters!

Aaron, Kevin, and Nicky work as surveyors for the Foxhole Alliance underneath Wymack. Kevin is a historian, Aaron is the medic, and Nicky runs communications.

They're surveying an uninhibited planet for alien remnants, to either be researched or marked as hazardous

Nicky almost gets eaten by local animals, but Andrew saves him at the last second

The faceplate on his helmet gets cracked, forcing him to reveal his face for the first time

Cue Aaron reenacting the spiderman pointing meme

Neil as ART

His AI was originally developed by the Moriyamas in the Corporation Rim to be a new kind of advanced spyware (his sentience was an accident)

He manages to download himself onto a passing cargo ship and starts his brief life on the run: hopping from station to station and piggybacking on people's feeds.

He ends up inhibiting a university deep space research vessel, and pretending to be a simple navigation bot

Official Designation: Deep Space Research Vessel #10-N31L (his crew calls him Neil)

When Andrew tries to hitch a ride with Neil on an unmanned cargo trip, Neil only let's him on board to make sure he wasn't involved with the Moriyamas

They play their truth game, and Andrew let's Neil piggyback on his feed. Neil loves watching exy, but Andrew can only tolerate so many games in a row. They compromise with cheesy zombie movies so Neil can rile Andrew up about the choices all the characters make (Andrew would never let his humans put themselves in that much danger, ok?!)

Andrew calls Neil Junkie because of how often he bugs Andrew to watch exy

The Upperclassmen

They're Neil's crew, they work for Palmetto University. Officially, they conduct research. Unofficially, they conduct anti-corporation missions

Dan is the captain of the ship

Matt is the mechanical engineer, Seth the electrical engineer

Renee poses as the onboard spiritual counselor, but she spearheads the majority of their anti-corporation work

Miscellaneous bonus stuff

Allison is a badass lawyer that can speak circles around anyone from the Corporation Rim that tries to mess with them (she grew up as the heir to her family's Corporation, so she knows all the tricks)

Betsy fills the role of Dr. Bharadjwa - she uses the "totally-not-therapy" sessions with Andrew to introduce him to new sweets

Nicky unintentionally started a huge debate when they found out Andrew was constructed with Aaron's DNA ("Does that mean Aaron is his dad?!?" "Ew, no Nicky..... I don't think so???")

The entirety of Network Effect is basically if the Baltimore scene was its own novel, change my mind

Jean is also a SecUnit in this AU

Andrew met Tilda while still under contract with Aaron's team. There was an emergency, and Andrew actively chose not to save Tilda despite Aaron ordering him to (this is how they find out he's rouge)

When Andrew gets the medical procedures done to appear more human and hide that he's a SecUnit, he also actively chooses to keep looking like his brother Aaron

Andrew still has his armbands on this AU; he uses them to cover the seams of the gun ports in his arms

Andrew picks up smoking as a way to appear more human

Obviously some of them are incredibly old (I started working on 'Everything' in like March of 2016 and only a partial document was recovered on my docs so...that's not being finished at this point) but uhhh...yeah. I’ve been trying to think of a plausible check please au for the foxhole court and have since given up so instead I present to you: the foxhole court/check please crossover no one wanted

ok so let’s just Pretend these two series somehow take place in the same universe

anyway

so after jack and bitty come out, there’s a lot of talk about the importance of pro athlete LGBT folk sticking together

jack’s like “we could host a benefit for You Can Play or something, focusing on LGBT athletes"

now

there aren’t that many out pro athletes

but among that small number are these two guys named Neil and Andrew, who play something called Exy? Jack’s never heard of it but apparently, it’s like the bastard child of ice hockey and some other sports (it’s the ice hockey part he cares about anyway)

so he puts them on the invite list too

Neil, opening the invitation: do you want to go to this banquet for LGBT athletes?

Andrew: no

Neil: me either but coach just texted me and said we have to. For PR.

so they end up going and somehow by the luck of the draw Neil and Andrew end up sitting across from Bitty and Jack

bitty is immediately thrilled – another short blonde boy!!! They can Bond!!

as expected, Andrew straight-up ignores everyone except Neil

that leaves Neil to make awkward small talk with Bitty and Jack

Andrew stops ignoring everyone when Bitty mentions he’s a baker and he snuck pie in

Andrew actively participates in the conversation after having some of said pie

weirdly enough, they get along pretty well. Bitty reminds him a little of Renee

and neil and jack manage to navigate small talk easily enough, especially given how passionate they are about their respective sports.

they take turns info-dumping about hockey and exy

(side note: pry autistic!jack with a special interest in hockey and autistic!neil with a special interest in exy from my cold, dead, autistic hands)

they actually get into a good discussion about similarities and differences between the two sports, and decide to meet up later and write a comprehensive paper about it (what? they both went to college? they’ve written papers before, and this is way more interesting than some other papers they’ve written)

(over time it evolves into a series of papers analyzing the cultures and fan followings between the sports, how the rules and regulations differ, and the ways they’ve influenced each other)

so while the Nerds™ are writing their paper, Bitty teaches Andrew how to bake. Andrew teaches Bitty how to fight people way bigger than he is. it works well for both of them.

Shitty and Nicky get along famously. Lardo and Renee date briefly, probably. everyone else is pretty good friends. they hang out and get drunk occasionally

jack makes the mistake of mentioning that exy wouldn’t exist without hockey while kevin was in the room, but otherwise no giant social faux-pas are made

andrew and neil try to make it to jack’s games if they can, and bitty and jack return the favor

they’re spotted at each other’s games so often, the tabloids call them the sports world’s powercouple of powercouples

“I’m sure it was created in Italy.” The answer comes from somewhere off camera and Neil nods, accepting the answer.

“They gave me whole eggs, but based on the fact that Marshmallows are white I think I only use the white part of it.” Neil says as he cracks one egg onto a plate and instead of using the shell to scoop it he merely grabbed an unopened water bottle, dumped out the water, and proceeded to suck the yolk up with the water bottle. “My roommate in college did this for his protein drinks.” Neil says, “So uh.. Thanks Kevin? I think he’s actually in the UK right now doing a goodwill game.” he shrugs not noticing how Kimura’s head shot up at the information.

Snippet from A Foxhole Bake:

“Andrew is a very talented Baker and he is very talented in the execution of his bakes.” Prue says as her and Paul Hollywood look between the top two contenders for this weeks Star Baker. “Still, I feel like he lacks Laura’s passion.” she says looking at the less technically perfect cake roll.

“I don’t know about that Prue.” Paul says as he looks as they looked at what could be salvaged of Andrew’s once technically perfect cake that he had eaten the majority of before production had gotten it away from him. “I feel like Andrew puts quite a bit of himself into his bakes, he put a knife as the decoration on his cake roll to show his passion for the kitchen.” Paul argued as they looked at a picture of the once perfect cake roll since Production had learned it’s lesson in the weeks prior.

The camera follows Neil along as he looks at the ingredients that should be quite familiar to him considering he had just attempted puffed rice treats the day before. Despite that, Neil is gazing at the ingredients as if he has no idea what any of them even are.

It needs to be said that there were only three ingredients that were added to his own marshmallows that he had prepared the day before.

Puffed Rice, butter, and sprinkles.

The camera cut back to four of the bakers with double broilers on their stations. Rupert and Brois have joined in on making their Meringues with the swiss method.

“What happens if you use the swiss method instead of the Italian method?” Someone off camera asks.

“Well, a swiss meringue marshmallow is something that should be made that very day since once it is frozen it’ll lose all of the fluffiness that you want in a marshmallow.” Paul’s voice explains as the camera zoomed in on Rupert.

“They wouldn’t have put the double broiler out if it wasn’t also part of it.” Boris says with confidence.

The camera went back to wide shots of the bakers as they continued to try and make an Italian Meringue so that they could… add gelatin in at the appropriate time. The camera moved to Sabrina Doyle as she and Edith Powell were looking at their two meringues.

“I don’t typically make meringues but when I do they’re swiss not Italian.” The camera caught Sabrina Doyle saying nervously.

“What’s the difference between the two?” Edith asks, scratching her head as she set up a double broiler.

“They’re both Meringues so it should be the same, probably?” Sabrina shrugs.

Eyes turn to Neil as he continues to crush the puffed rice.

“Mate, you do…know that this is the technical challenge right?” he asks hesitantly, seemingly wondering if Neil’s gotten confused since he’s essentially making the same thing for the second day.

“Yep.” Neil pops the ‘p’ sound.

“The goal is-”

“Your marshmallows have been properly setting all night,” Sandi gestures to the various covered trays on everyone’s work stations. “We ask that you all remember to set one aside for Paul and Prue to test.”

“The second half of this challenge we are giving you only one hour to do it.” Noel says to the tent as they all continue to try and spy everyone else’s marshmallows.

“On your mark,” Sandi starts them off.

“Get set,” Noel continues.

“Bake!” They both cry out.
