What I assume to be an earlier model for Max on the left, and then the later one on the right. This is for This Time it’s Virtual. Found in the Demo files, but most likely in the full game’s files as well.

Another tidbit, the models (made by PaulsRage) were originally posted on Sketchfab in January 2019,  and then modified versions of these were used for the game. Pretty neat! The picture of the original model on Sketchfab will be shown below;

My computer started making a weird hiccup noise. I called tech support and the dude was baffled. Not only had he never heard a noise like that before, he didn't think there ought to be anything in the computer that could make that noise. He's sending me a box so I can give them my computer to be dissected and studied.

the worldbuilding i’m missing from bg3 is how all these people with horns are lying down. karlach is missing a horn so she can be a side sleeper on that side, which also accommodates her tail so that’s groovy.

how about the other tieflings though? some horn styles are unobtrusive enough to not be a problem but zevlor? rolan? the only thing i can come up with us that there’s some kind of specialized pillow tiefs can use that is small and dense enough to just support their head and let the horns go around it. or maybe they have to sleep in a massage table style facedown bed if they’ve got a real twisty pair of horns. actually i bet a hammock would actually work decently well with horns but then you’re lying on your back on your tail and we’re back to square 1.

but wyll?? i’ve looked at his character model and there is not a side of his head that the horns don’t extend past several inches. i KNOW he’s not laying on his back on a bedroll around the fire with us. he just got his horns so he hasn’t had any time to have a special pillow made. and we’re camping so he can’t have a fancy bed. i can totally imagine wyll’s self-sacrificing don’t want to be a bother ass just. sucking it up and learning to sleep cross legged.

i can’t help it these are the things that are interesting to my brain. how do people with horns lie down!!

Once, just once I would like to read an urban fantasy novel about a jaded PI that actually does lots of detective work instead of being thrown from danger to danger until they stumble upon the murderer. I mean I don't expect a Sherlock Holmes novel, but so far it's a bit disappointing. Any recs?

Omg they're finally adding different palettes for the heroes in DD2! I love that the weapons are different too depending on the hero's path, I can't wait to see all of them!!

It's so nice to see concept art yellow Highwayman finally becoming its own official skin! I do miss the green palette though but maybe it'll get added later, with more paths? Also missing the different skin tones, blue HWM used to be tanner while brown HWM, paler... Edit: on a second look, i think that was the green HWM skin on the sharpshoot path, only a bit washed out! Brown HWM was the one to go then!

I'll probably have to update my references' folder after the game launches, there will be sooo much new stuff to render. Half looking forward to it, half dreading the thought of redoing everything-- I'll try to come up with a more streamlined system. I'm thinking of learning how to animate the camera itself so I can render specific key-frames in an animation (like having the camera spin around the model so I can render multiples angles in one go?)

It'll probably take a while but I'm definitely doing it! I might not like DD2 much as a game overall but those models are sure nice to look at :)

You got me into Detective Grimoire and Tangle Tower and now we're getting The Mermaid's Tongue!! aaaaaaa!!! When do you think we'll be getting it? I hope it'll be earlier half of 2024 because I'm so excited for it!!

aaaa it makes me really happy knowing people have gotten into detective grimoire through me, it's such a good series so i'm glad it's getting more eyes on it! i think it's really cool that a lot of the recent attention the game has gotten on tumblr seems to be a result of word of mouth / artists getting into the game, ( i actually deiced to play tt because someone i already followed kept sharing allie's hawkshaw au and that got me curious about the game. ) hopefully, the fandom will be even more active soon thanks to a new game coming out. i'd love to see that!

as to when i think it'll come out, i'm also hoping for an early 2024 release since i'm impatient and want to play it as soon as possible. still, there's a lot of work that goes into creating games and i obviously don't want them to rush it out so i'm willing to wait however long it takes for them to polish the game. i'm thinking late spring / early summer at the earliest or early fall at the latest.
