It’s weird to talk about body image because I’m an archaeologist. We have three forms: the tenured Hawaiian shirt with slacks, the scarecrow chic in three layers of flannel, and human shaped garbage bag via waterproofs. Who cares how I look, it’s gonna be covered in dirt in five seconds?

Me: I am a useless lesbian.

How has your day been?

Well, my sister is in the hospital because she fractured her skull and gave herself a whopper of a concussion, so I’ve been running the auxiliary household support while one parent is at the hospital and the other parent sleeps after spending the night at the hospital. Ah, well... this too shall pass.

What is the last thing that made you smile?

My dog. Always my dog. I looked over at him when I went to write this and I smiled again. He’s an idiot but I love him so much.

What’s keeping you entertained these days?

I’ve been watching The West Wing and fantasizing about what it would be like to have a competent government. 

If you are in some kind of quarantine/self isolation: is here anything you would like yo achieve in this time?

I want to get better at knitting socks. This means knitting a lot of socks. I HAVE SO MANY SOCKS
