30 Days of Linktypes
What is/are your linktype(s)?
How did you choose your linktype?
What drew you to the concept of linking?
Do you express your linktype in the physical world in any way, or is linking a predominantly inner-self experience for you?
Does your linktype have a certain manner of speaking, moving, or other personal quirk?
What climate or environment does your linktype prefer?
Is your linktype social or solitary?
Is your linktype extant, extinct, or fictional?
Do you have any fond memories while linking?
Are there any colors you associate with your linktype?
Are there any shapes or symbols you associate with your linktype?
Are there any sounds or songs you associate with your linktype?
Is there anything else you associate with your linktype when you see, hear, smell, touch, taste, or otherwise percieve it?
How often are you your linktype? Is it all the time, or only sometimes?
Do you shift? If so, what is that experience like?
Have you ever had a dream as your linktype?
How has linking had an effect on your daily life?
Has your linktype(s) changed since you began linking?
Have you made any unexpected discoveries about your linktype?
Do you have any physical items (gear, clothing, etc) that help foster your linktype connection?
Do you engage in any meditation or other activites to foster your linktype connection?
How has your linking experience been so far? Positive? Negative? Mixed?
How open are you about your linktype?
Would you ever dress as your linktype?
Have you ever met another -linker?
Are you active in the wider alterhuman community?
What does linking mean to you, in a personal sense?
What's your favorite part of being your linktype?
Doodle your linktype!
Wildcard! Anything else you'd like to share?
Feel free to reblog or otherwise utilize these questions for yourself. I've amalgated them from other 30 day challenges I've seen as well as added my own questions. I tried to make these questions as broad in scope as possible, but feel free to ignore/skip/change a question that doesn't apply to you.

Hey there!!
@a-wildkinventure here! you can call me Venture!
[I know this post is long, but please read till the end!]
I use he/they pronouns.
In addition, I also use it/its [I use neos but don't list here]
I am part sys, in addition to being polykin and therian so... chaos will ensue.
Although this blog is dedicated specifically to kin chaos.
[in specific I am a c-linker/c-kin in addition to non-linking kin with fictionflicker and exotrauma experiences as well as having a very strong connection to kinmems]
please try to understand that this is my only safe place to talk about kin stuff... so I really, REALLY just want to exist... and even here I'm not sure how 'safe' I feel...
What I'm cool with doing:
[On a scale from 1 to 10]
Chatting with other fictionkin [or kin in general, other, fiction, etc.] - 10/10, definitely! talk with me peeps!
[especially if you are from my sources!!! Fallout 4, Kong Skull Island or Kaiju in general, Murder Drones, Sally Face, Metal Family, Coraline, Chikn Nuggit, Tangled the Series, Carrion, UTMV, Dumbo, etc!!!]
[Trying] to make moodboards - 7/10, I am kind of shit at these but will still try!
[Trying] to make stimboards - 9/10, I LOVE making these.
Talking with doubles - ???/10, might weird me out a bit at first, but hell yeah, dude! [Depends on kintype/fictive double]
Offering kin help - 5/10, I can try! I'm actually pretty new to understanding that I am kin, so I might not be good.
Anything NSFW in asks - 2/10, depends on context... I'm usually VERY sex and sexual/sexuality repulsed, but within REASON I can handle NSFW stuff. Just don't go out of your way to be a horny freak ig? [Not meant to be negative, but I've dealt with too much sexual shit in my life...]

welcome to copinglink-culture-is !!
this [x]-culture-is blog is for c’linkers or linkers in general – anyone has the right to send asks and talk about their experiences here , because linking is a different experience for everyone , so there is no right or wrong . the goal of this blog is to basically share and spread the unique experience of us copinglinkers !!
This blog is ran by a Laios c’linker ( actually , he has way more linktypes than that but they link with Laios the most. ) who goes by any pronouns ! They really enjoy hearing about other people’s experience and running a culture-is blog has always been a dream of hers !
Copinglink is the term used when someone/something chooses to identify as a character/animal/concept/etc in order to cope with trauma , stress , disorders , and/or other issues . This can be done either consciously , subconsciously , and so on .
Otherlink is “a voluntary identity as an alterhuman or fictional being, adopted for various reasons.” [ source ]
there are many more types of linking but they will be added later on , but the gist is – if you identify with any term that contains linking in its name , or have anything vaguely linking-related going on , then you’re allowed to send asks here :D
I don’t do detailed DNIs but if you come to this blog with something negative in mind , then don’t interact . i’m aware that others have very graphic opinions about c’linking and alterhumanity as a whole but this isn’t the space to make those opinions known .
requests are open ! no limit to how many asks can be sent !

Hi hi um just a quick question about your D.N.I would fiction hearted count under k.f.f ? (Sorry if this is worded badly TwT)
Fiction hearted is not KFF! 100% - A kin for fun [KFF for short] is someone who mocks and appropriates the alterhuman community and use derogatory words - Which is not the same as otherlinks or otherhearted!
'Links and 'Hearted are 100% vaild and the host is actually a linker!! [Coping & fun ^^]
This is actually a very good question to ask! I'm glad you asked :]

Hey, so i really liked the guide to otherlinking, but i am still really confused on some things, #1, Can you please give me more examples of otherlinking? Or how it happens? #2, Can you accidentally become an Otherlinker? Or is it always a choice? (sorry if i sound uneducated on this topic)
Hi! Thank you! I'm happy to hear you liked it :) I'm happy to try helping #1 Examples; How it happens I'll talk about past 'link experiences of mine for examples! -> Wind Archer Cookie - Back when I took on this 'link I felt a great pull of wanting to be a part of the Cookie Run character roster. I kept seeing people who were 'kin of it, and the characters seemed so appealing, but none of them struck me as ME. I eventually realized that I could decide that one of them is me. I chose Wind Archer, because they were the most appealing to me in appearance, and started identifying with their traits from there. I can relate to their serious nature, even if initially I was put off by how they seem too serious to be me. It was nice to lean into that capacity of seriousness by engaging with that linktype. It was also nice to engage with the aethetic - the green, the wind. -> European green woodpecker - I'd always wished to have a theriotype, and have felt animalistic shifts, but whenever I did introspection on those, it always turned out that it was just me feeling natural human impulses. Then one day I realized I could just pick an animal 'type. The decision of it being green woodpeckers was very random. I've become a bit obsessed with the birds' behaviours, life, and looks despite the randomness. I informed myself about them and internalized that info heavily. -> Kirekiyo Shinguji - I took on this 'link because Kiyo's story bothered me a ton and wouldn't leave my thoughts. By identifying as him, I managed to work through what it was that triggered me so much about him, but why at the same time I like him so much. My high interest in learning about humanity was one trait in common with him. His aesthetic slaps, too. Creeplord. -> Itachi Uchiha - I had a dream in which I was Itachi, a character I'd never cared about before in my life. The dream made me identify so easily with him. I kept that feeling of "This is me" around after the dream on purpose, reminding myself of me being him and picturing me as him physically. -> Raihan - An identity I took on to cope with exam stress and an injury. I like Raihan. He's fun and cool and relatable in some aspects. That's all LOL
To summarize: "How it happens" is very individual, both depending on the person and what it is that you set out to 'link and why. It can be to cope, for fun, for other reasons. Having someone in common with the linktype prior to linking already is helpful, but no necessary. You can link something you have nothing in common with, and adapt those traits along the way, or shape the thing into something more befitting of you (like an AU in the case of a fictional character).
#2 Accidental 'linking I'd say yes, if you don't know about the label and you do something that can be described as 'linking. I.e. choosing to identify as something in a very linker-y way before you've heard of the terms.
Otherlinking is, by definition, always a choice, yes.
But, sometimes alterhumanity can be quoiluntary - not quite clear on whether it was a choice or not. Most if not all of my linktypes have had a sort of pull to them, pulling me towards the decision - some more strongly than others. Are they kintypes because of that? Eh, I don't think too much about it. My process of growing into the identities has been built on a lot of active decision. Memories tend to not just come to me, but instead are built. I can't force just anything, because it has to make sense in my head and feel true, but I'm not left to the whims of chance when it comes to "remembering". I also don't try to find out what I look like - instead I carve myself. Shifts, too, are actively induced and built. These are rather different experiences from otherkin. Instead of discovering yourself, you build yourself. But, oh, hm. There's discovery in that as well. c:
I hope this makes sense and helps!

Sometimes i feel like im the only one experiencing this. Cope linking is something we've been doing since childhood, latching onto characters trying to be like them trying to look like them. Its a different experience from being a fictive and yet im somehow both at the same time? Its so hard to explain and it feels like theres no one else with this experience. Especially since i link to fictional characters and it feels like everyone else goes to things like animals or computers. Its so isolating. I made this blog to find people like me so they could share their experiences to find people like them. But it just feels like im the only one here. Im not upset about it it just feels like being invited to a party and knowing no one there and trying to make some connection. It doesn't help that we're so new to the otherkin community. Everyone is debating who can be what and it reminds us of syscourse in the worst way. I guess what im trying to say here is there anyone else who can relate to us? Is there any cope linkers here that cope link to fictional characters?

(Kilian Evang)

Also I can't stress enough but when I say I'm upset at how 'KFF' as a thing has changed the meaning of the word otherkin I'm not mad at the people involved specifically because let's face it nowadays many if not all are far removed from those first initial antis who made the choice to spread the incorrect definition to delegitimise the term.
Sure it's valid to disagree with the individuals who are ableist towards genuine alterhumans but many straight up have no idea they're using the term incorrectly. Or using just 'kin' incorrectly as a verb and will act hostile because the community they've become involved in or culture they're partaking in means a lot to them.
And... they're not using it incorrectly for a member of their community anyway.
It's become a word that means two different things and that's frustrating as all hell and a big reason why I just call myself alterhuman and only use otherkin tags for finding others but I fully believe KFFers have a place in the wider community.
Especially those who technically mean the original definition but may call themself something else due to the misunderstanding or those who would meet the definition of hearted or linker.
I believe there's tons of room in the wider community and allowing people who identify as fully human to express themselves as Other anyway is important. We don't have to change them, just their attitudes towards anybeing who identifies as partially or wholly nonhuman/fictional human. We can be each others valuable allys.
#acceptance includes behaviours you dislike and ppl being 'less serious' btw#reminds me of how trans* includes cis gnc people because it means So Much and always has#kff#otherkin#otherkind

Want to add on more, the list is truly expansive. But here are some more commonly used alterhuman terms.
Othervague: fuzzy/blurry identity that partially falls under multiple alterhuman labels. Either when you don't want to figure out all the labels used, or overall unsure what your vaguetype may be. (coining post)
Otherlink: Intentionally made connection towards an alterhuman identity, usually people link identify-as identity, though there is no actual limitation. 'linker take on these identities for various reasons such as coping, establishing a stronger connection to preexisting identities, for fun, or just because. (info page here)
Fictomere/Fictionfolk: Both are catch-all terms for all fiction related alterhuman identities--ficto(kin)type, ficto(heart)type, (fiction based) hearthome, synpath, fiction source linktype, fictive, etc. (read more on fictomere here)
Flicker: A temporary identity. Usually fictionflicker. (the definition page)
You can find a lot of them in the Beyond Humanity Alterhuman Dictionary. Other good places like Otherkin Wiki, Sol System's Alterhuman Glossary are worth checking out too!
you there. person posting a "list of alterhuman terms" post in the community tags. name and define five alterhuman identities that ARE NOT nonhumanity or fictionkinity. if you try to use voluntary nonhumanity as one of these the dragon gets to eat you. you have five minutes.

My 30 days of linktypes challenge
Day 25: Have you ever met another -linker?
Terminology-specific-wise? Not outside passing ships in the night on Tumblr.
Have I ever met people who choose (or don't choose) to identify as a fictional character/animal/nonhuman thing/etc.? I've met a few in passing. I'm close to only one, but luckily that one is my partner.

Copinglinker/Otherlinker: someone who consciously chooses to form a nonhuman or fictional identity. (Contrary to popular opinion these days, these are perfect synonyms; the term copinglinker doesn't necessarily mean it's a coping mechanism, butthe term otherlinker was coined as an alternative because people felt that it implies it nonetheless.) A linktype is the thing a 'linker (of any variety) identifies as (for example, if you form a copinglink of a lion, you have a lion linktype).
Otherhearted: someone who strongly identifies with, but not as, a nonhuman or fictional entity. This is often described as feeling they're family, or feeling you "should be" but aren't your hearttype - a hearttype being the thing someone who's otherhearted identifies with. I don't have a link to the coining post for this one, unfortunately, since it was coined on the Daemon Forum which is closed to non-members, but I do have a couple of posts describing it which you might find useful.
Can anyone explain the difference between a linktype and a hearttype or send a link to a post about it or smtg plsss

The Chordata Guide to Otherlinking
Hello! This is a guide written from my own experiences, and a tiny bit of consulting with other ‘linkers. If you can think of ways to improve this, let me know, and I’ll update the original post. This is Version 1.1.
What is otherlinking? What is a linktype?
Otherlinking is the active choice of identifying as something. This sounds very vague, so let’s have an example: Imagining yourself as a lion makes you more confident, so you like doing that frequently. Identifying as a lion becomes a part of your identity.
For many of us, otherlinking includes consciously taking on traits of out linktype (imitating/“fake it ‘til you make it” OR strengthening already existing traits by focusing on them through a linktype). This is a form of mindfulness training. For example: I would like to be as calm and collected as insert-fictional-character. In stressful situations, I think “How would they react?” and try to act that way by imagining myself as them. If this revolves around already existing traits, a linktype can help amplify those traits.
Let's get some vocabulary out of the way first, for everyone who comes across this and isn’t familiar with otherlinking.
● Linktype / Otherlink / 'link- A voluntary identity a person takes on. I.e. I identify as a woodpecker because I want to. This identity can be of a real existing or extinct animal or plant, a mythological being, a fictional being or person, an object, a concept, et cetera.
● Otherlinker - A person with a linktype.
● Otherlinking - The act of having a linktype.
● Copinglink / C'link - A subcategory of linktype. A copinglink is a linktype created for coping with trauma, stress, et cetera.
● Copinglinker - A person with a copinglink.
● Copinglinking - The act of having a copinglink.
Requirements
You might ask yourself: "I want a linktype. What're the requirements to get one?" Well, you already got all the requirements down. To take on a linktype, you need to want one. Whether you feel compelled to take one on, or you feel it could help you in some way, or you decide you want to try this just for the heck of it, it's all valid. You want, you can.
How?
This is the trickier part, and it varies from person to person. I will give a basic rundown. Adjust this for your personal needs where you see fit.
1. Find your being/thing/concept.
2. Examine your reasons for why you want to call this yourself.
3.a. Your reasons for wanting the linktype might already be enough to make the identity feel right.
3.b. If you don't feel yourself clicking with the potential 'link, and struggle with identifying as it, analyze it to find the traits that don't resonate with you. You can change parts of the 'link, or view it through a different lens to make it feel closer to home. I.e. For fictional characters, it can help to disengage from fandom interpretation, or canon characterization, and instead put your own spin on them.
4. Once you've established a connection, you can reinforce it if you want to. A linktype can feel very faint at the start, so here are some examples for what you can do to make it feel more 'You':
● Wear clothing you can associate with the 'link.
● Inform yourself about new hobbies that you can associate with your linktype. I.e. If your linktype is an archer and you've never tried archery before, see if you can find an archery range open to newbies nearby.
● If you are a visual artist, create drawings of your linktype in a way that relates to your irl person. I.e. Draw the linktype in your clothes, or in irl places you've been in person.
● If you're a writer, write something including your linktype in a way that relates to you. I.e. Include them in a story inspired by real life events that have happened to you.
● Make the linktype your social media profile picture.
● Let people know they can use the linktype's name as a nickname for you.
● Change your social media alias/username to be related to the linktype’s name.
● Talk to people who will treat you as your linktype (and not just view it as roleplaying).
Don't be ashamed of expressing yourself in fear of other people’s opinions. Unless you're dependent on them (for money, safety, or other physical and mental health needs), it doesn't matter what they think.
Caution
If at any point in your journey you notice that a linktype makes you feel worse about yourself than you do without the linktype (i.e. feeding into anger, self-hatred), stop it. These dangers can already crop up during the ‘link creation process. Here are ways to go about this, and possible causes:
● Stop engaging with it. This sounds very 'It'll go away if I ignore it long enough', but that's exactly it. A linktype should fade when you don't engage with it anymore. Don't approach this by thinking "I'm not allowed to think about this anymore", but instead, every time when your linktype comes up, acknowledge it, and replace that thought with something else. If you struggle with this, examine what 'triggers' you to think of your linktype. Mindfulness is a powerful thing that often goes underestimated.
● Replace it with a different linktype that doesn't bring these problems.
● If your linktype started off without these issues, try to find out what caused it to change to become negative. Maybe there are other factors in your life that're putting stress on you and it shows through your linktype.
● Maybe you’ve outgrown your linktype. People can change over time, and your linktype could be preventing you from taking the next steps for personal growth, and this can negatively influence your well-being. Try letting go of the linktype. It might turn out the be a freeing experience.
● Talk to a therapist (, or, if you can’t access therapy, an understanding friend). Yes, tell them specifically about the linktype and the problems you have with it. A second person can shine a light on aspects you didn’t notice.
Good to know
A linktype can become an integral part to yourself, and at some point you might find it hard to separate it from yourself. Is this still a linktype? Is it a kintype (otherkin)? That is for you to know and decide. The lines can be blurry, and at the end of the day you are the only person who can decide what labels you want to use and what community has the most in common with you (if you even want to label yourself and interact with ppl w similar experiences). Unless it is harming you (or others), a linktype turned integral is nothing bad. Our environments shape us as people constantly, and a linktype over time can contribute similarly.
🐟
That’s it! If you have questions or need help, feel free to contact me through Asks or DMs. If I’m unavailable, search around a bit to find other otherlinkers who might be able to help you. ♡

hey
About/BYF under the cut!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi! I'm Tato! I'm an artist!
I'm 20, and I'm a gendersatyret, genderfaun and fluidflux boygirl! I'm a femme xenogender bigender trans man for short :3 I'm a non-SAM pan gaybian, a turigirl, a sapphboy/lesboy, a sapphillean, and I'm ambiamorous, nebularomantic and demisexual. Just queer is fine too 👍 You can use any terms for me so long as you mix it up a bit, I'm whatever gender is funnier for the bit.
You can find the rest of my pronouns here on my pronoun page
i love my princess :)
mutuals can ask for my discord ✌️
I'm otherkin, my primary kintypes are alienkin, spacekin, dragonkin and fairykin! Friendly to all kins, linkers and the like <3 (even KFF-ers, i do not care for KFF discourse, get a hobby) I'm auDHD and physically disabled :^ I'm a radical inclusionist and non-traumagenic friendly :]
i'm a transandrophobia truther. a filthy transandrobro who loves intersectionalism and hates the gender and sex binaries. transandrophobes get off my lawn. i survived in the transtrender/tucute trenches u are nothing to me. intersex people i love you transneutrals i love you transfemmascs i love you transmascfems i love you transfems i love you transmascs i love you. we're all in this shit together 🫶
I openly and proudly reclaim words like transandrobro, femboy, fag, dyke and tranny, as well as cripple on occasion, and I will not tag them. If you don't want to see those words, don't follow me maybe. i don't like theyfab for myself but much love to people who reclaim it. we are siblings in arms 🤝 if you call me a "trans identified female", tme or a theyfab i'm projecting my period cramps on you
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My hyperfixations switch around a lot! Right now I'm reading the Silmarillion so I'm autisming about that :) Feänor stan but not a Feänor apologist. your honor he did do all that. he did. something wrong with him.
I post about MCYT, as well as the Tolkien legendarium, and sometimes Star Wars!
I don't make sideblogs for any of my interests, if you follow me you're getting the undiluted stream of all my reblogs. Hope you like me babygirlifying fictional adult men you might not know because that's what you're gonna get :3
Hey! Send me blinkies and userboxes you think I might like!
this shouldn't have to be said but i consume media critically. i'm not. i'm not just fucking chowing down on things and adding all of it to my actual worldview. be sensible
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have a linktree where you can find all of my socials! go follow me there too i post bangers :]
if you've got questions or if you just feel like saying hi or sending me pictures of cool bugs, my inbox is open! anon is even on if you're shy! hate will be ignored and blocked unless it's funny as shit or deeply perplexing
Check "#art" on my blog to see my drawings, and "#tato speaks" for my occasional rambles about topics and themes and things. i also have "#mutuals my beloveds" specifically for interacting with mutuals
I might forget to tag triggers so if you need me to tag something for you, don't be afraid to send an ask!
occasional sex jokes or suggestive art will be tagged #suggestive, nothing outright nsfw but if you don't wanna see those, block that tag!
BYF:
If you don't understand something on my DNI it most certainly doesn't apply to you <3
General DNI: Racists, queerphobes, ableists (including people who believe in "narcissistic abuse", or any other "cluster B abuse"), zoos, radqueers, transx/transID (transrace*, transdisabled, etc), proshippers** and anti-antis, (NO)MAPs and other pedos, pro-contact or anti-recovery for any harmful/non-consensual paraphilias, exclusionists of any kind, anti-kin, transandrophobes and transmisogynists, TERFs and TIRFs***, transmeds, people who don't support AFAB transfems and AMAB transmascs and won't listen to intersex people about those labels, anti-non traumagenic, fakeclaimers, fatphobes, tankies, zionists, "pro-lifers", pro ED/self-harm, cryptobros, nftbros, aibros, Harry Potter fans (i don't care if you "don't support JKR")
*not in the "kid adopted by parents of a different race" way, i do mean in the ""transitioning" to a different race than the one you are" way
**mostly for underage x adult and/or incest pairings. i'm more lenient on toxic or otherwise unhealthy pairings so long as you're not straight up romanticizing abuse. i have no quarrel about tactful depictions of any of those things though you can do that without making it weird. generally i don't care about shipping discourse when we can just avoid each other.
***trans inclusionary radical feminists. if you don't understand radical feminism is a completely backwards ideology and that giving it a new progressive coat of paint doesn't make it better, i don't know what to say to you
For MCYT fans: I do not support cc!Dream, cc!George, cc!Sapnap, cc!Forever or cc!Wilbur - Stans and apologists DNI
For SW fans: Any flavor of Padawan x Master and clonecest shippers DNI
For LOTR, the Hobbit and Silmarillion fans: People who get mad about, or even just like, weirdly defensive against queer readings and headcanons DNI. i doubt you would have survived the rest of this post but. just in case. you don't even have to agree that blorbo from your book is queer, you just need to be normal about the idea that they could be. it's free and easy!
I'm not super strict with this one but I would prefer people under 15 to tread lightly; you can interact and follow, but yknow, treat me like you'd treat any adult stranger. No upper age limit though I don't care about that, love and light. The generational divide is a scam anyways.
I MIGHT REBLOG SFW FORCEMASC SOMETIMES. it's comforting to me but i know it could be distressing to some people so. ask your doctor if tato's forcemascposting is right for you i guess
If you interact anyways because you "don't care about DNIs" I will just block you. I don't care. I'm busy playing with my touys. In general I block liberally. You could pass my DNI but still fail the vibe check. Something something curating your online experience <3
