Fandom-specific terminology is sooo interesting . Little pockets of internet subculture making their own fucking codes and nomenclature and shorthand ..
Posting schedule's going to get a little more inconsistent ;-;
Up till now, I've been trying to post stories with intervals of a little more than a week, but with exams coming, I don't want to compromise on my sanity and the quality of my work, so l'm going to be posting less frequently. I'II definitely continue to write, though, and even work on longer fics!
This period of inconsistency will probably last until the end of October. lt's long, and I'm recoiling at the thought of it too. Every now and then, I hope to be able to post something, but until then, your patience is greatly appreciated!
wada sez: Skids’ most notable story was the Marvel Comics issue “Showdown!”, where he formed a bond (a romance?!) with the human cashier Charlene; they’re ultimately forced to part ways and return to their separate lives. Here, Charlene imagines herself in a wild west saloon; Skids imagines a Cybertronian equivalent, and they ultimately share the same fantasy of life together—the dreamlike thought-bubble effect surrounding most of these panels fades away for the final two, which I think is meant to imply that Charlene really does reunite with Skids! Rumble and Frenzy are seen arguing over whether FIBRIR or RIBFIR. A full list of songs quoted in this piece is given at the bottom of the strip, but it’s kind of small, so check below for a full list of lyricist credits and links, along with clean inks and colors.
“Let’s Get Away From It All” - Tom Adair (listen)
“Eve of Destruction” - P. F. Sloan (listen)
“Somewhere” (from West Side Story) - Stephen Sondheim (listen)
My first TF series was Armada, though i remember approximately none things about it except Screamer. Keep meaning to go rewatch it, maybe one of these days...
Not sure if it counts as an obscure fact but I love the whole heated FIBRIR and FIRRIB back and forth. There's History behind it, and i mean like entire forum wars to the point there are often rules against discussions about it.
Writing it myself again. Negaduck is the most evil version of Darkwing out there. He's from the alternate universe where everyone's negatrons and positrons are swapped, and because of that, he's pure evil whose determined to kill Darkwing. Yet while it isn't really apparent in the show, there is more to him than that. The fact that he actually tries to get Darkwing's daughter Gosalyn to join him and actually seems upset when he has to kill her (Negaduck is NEVER upset about killing people) might hint that the fact that what every version of Darkwing has in common is loving Gosalyn is true. Both Darkwing and Negaduck HAVE to obey cartoon logic, which is always funny.
RUMBLE AND FRENZY PROPAGANDA/EXPLANATION
Brothers, often considered twins. They look near exactly the same in shape, though they have differing color schemes. The meta-debate about who should be depicted which color has the name FIRRIB/FIBRIR, or Frenzy is Red, Rumble is Blue / Frenzy is Blue, Rumble is Red.
