getting back from the trip, and some friends are there to welcome them back, but something seems..different and one mf cant help but say “what happened did you guys fuck or something” (…they did)
I never wrote for Regis or Clarus before, but I am now! Hope you like it! 💙

Weskham couldn't help but side eye Regis as they both ventured down one of the main palace halls. Since the prince arrived home from his trip with Clarus, there had been something different about him. Regis looked more exhausted than when he first left. As if another issue at hand was gripping his mind. This troubled Weskham a great deal. The whole point of the trip--that both he and Clarus arranged--was to ensure Regis had time to rest. Gods above knew Regis needed it before he and his team would venture to Accordo to build up alliances.
The weight of the world was literally upon the crown that Regis would wear. Weskham knew that better than anyone. Being the hand of the king, it was his duty and honor to help the monarch keep the peace and also take care of himself. To see Regis look so tired after having a peaceful vacation, felt like a failure on Weskham's part. He felt foolish for not pulling Clarus to the side to ask what had happened.
Weskham stared at the coronation ring that was snug against Regis's right index finger, knowing one day the Ring of the Lucii would take its place. Furrowing his brows, Weskham could feel the competent adviser he knew himself to be pave way to the best friend: wanting to know what was ailing his pal besides the unfair sacrifices his bloodline carried.
"A pardon, highness." Weskham cleared his throat.
"Yes?" Regis stopped in his tracks and turned his attention in full to Weskham. His eyes glanced up and down his form, noting he looked concerned.
"You only ever look like you've seen a ghost when something terrible is on the horizon, my friend."
Weskham couldn't help but laugh. He shook his head. "Fortunately, you are wrong there. However, I have to say that as your friend you have me worried. You haven't looked well since you left the Regalia."
"Oh," Regis made a face. He turned his gaze elsewhere down the hall, as if making sure no one else was within the vicinity. "I can assure you there is nothing amiss on my part. However, the trip with Clarus was...an experience to say the least. Let's resume our walk."
Weskham gave a bow with his head and pressed on. While staying at Regis's right side, he couldn't help but grin.
Regis raised a brow. "What's so amusing?"
"Oh nothing but an immature thought." Weskham chuckled.
"Enlighten me." Regis smiled awkwardly, shaking his head.
"If I didn't know better," Weskham began, trying to keep his composure in check. "I'd say you and Clarus finally gave into that tension that's been with us since youth."
"Beg your pardon?"
"Don't be daft, Regis." Weskham huffed with amusement. "I mean what exactly happened between you and Clarus that was an experience? Did you two fuck or something?"
Regis's eyes bulged from his skull at the accusation. His body and posture tensed and an awkward silence fell between both his long time friend and himself. He blinked a few times after Weskham did a double take.
"Reg?"
"I'm good," Regis coughed. "I'm good."
The faint blush to Regis's pale skin and his response was enough to tell Weskham everything. He parted his mouth to say something, but was quickly interrupted.
"May we both respectfully pretend this conversation didn't transpire."
Weskham could feel his own face growing warm now. What began as a jest to an inside joke between himself, Regis, and Clarus was now heading into territory Weskham himself wasn't sure he was ready for. Both as a friend of the prince and his future adviser.
"I agree," Weskham finally responded, not before smirking. "Was he good at least?"
"That meeting with the Niflheim councilman, I need you to get it rescheduled ASAP." Regis all but bulldozed through the question Weskham asked. He glared at hearing the suppressed chuckles escaped Weskham's mouth.
"I'll ensure it happens," Weskham nodded. "By the way, Reg, nice dodge."
"Oh shut up."

My two main Cor headcanons are that he can't drive and that he's a horrible cook.
Which is incredibly annoying because those are both things he's canonically really good at 😒.

I'm wondering which members of Regis' retinue would be aware of his actual parentage.
Cid knows for sure, he was an adult already when Regis was born. Hell, he might be one of the few people to remember Mors' first wife too.
Cor and Wesk don't know. Cor wasn't even born then and Wesk was 2 when all of this took place.
But I have a problem with Clarus.
Because Clarus was 5 when Regis was born. He should have remembered that. But at the same time, how much did he actually understand? How much did he even see or hear? I doubt he spent much time around the Citadel at that age, but still.
Choices, choices.

Random short headcannons for FFXV, because I hope it will make your day better in every sense.
-Titus called Cor in their youth chihuahua (due to reason that Cor was 15 years old super small kid with angry issues)
- Cor loves heavy metal and rock, yet has soft spot for when Weskham plays piano
- Cor sometimes for the shit of it calls Kingsglaive by Kingsdaves ... Titus hates it with his whole ass being, and all  the glaives are  so confused (Meanwhile Clarus, Regis and Cid are laughting their asses off)
- On the contrary to popular belief Titus cares about his glaives! It´s tough love without doubt, but the glaives wouldn't want it any other way
- Cid actually helps glaives when they stop at this garrage from mission. Mostly offers them food or shower. Then Cindy checks their cars for any damages. (Of course he sends Regis a hefty invoice)
-Glaives have Guide how to not die on the battlefield and Handbook 101 rules: How to be cool glaive that won´t die in the 30´s (there is a lot of pictures, and it has like 500 pages)
- Glaives uniforms are definitively enchanted. Every piece, even if it looks impractical, has some kind of improvement (endurance, magic resistance, strenght, ..)
- Prompto is the main photographer for sure. But did you know he took photos for Kingsglaive and Crownsguards? Not only the cool stuff for their brochures, but also complete mundane things  such as Pelna hugging Crowe or Tredd sharpening his knives or even laughting Cor with Titus. LAUGHTING. COR. AND. TITUS!
-Regis quite often sneaked with Noctis on fishing trips. Clarus had to improve security measurments because Reg was slacking on his paperwork and young Noct wasn´t attending homeschooling as he should.
- Clarus was actually quite womanizer in his younger years.(I was wondering where Gladio got it from) Until his wife came along and swept him of his feet. Which was quite literally, let me tell ya.
- Gladio by cannon loves to read all kinds of books even comics. I will let you on a little secret  tho ... Gladio´s guilty pleasure are spicy books with romantic plot.
- Ignis enjoyes museums, especialy the art one. He is always surprised by people's creativity and talent.

Day 12: Broken Bone (Ao3)
“It’s not serious,” Clarus insisted, even though he refused to look down at his own leg.
Cor had no such qualms and completely disagreed with his assessment. Clarus’ tibia -- or was it fibula? Well whichever bone it was, one half of it was poking out through the skin and getting blood all over the place.
“It is serious,” Weskham said. “And no, Reggie can’t just heal it.”
“I’m sure if you just popped it back in--” Clarus started only to yelp when Weskham lightly poked the side of his leg.
Regis, who watched from Clarus’ side, cringed and started to turn a pale green. “But how are we supposed to move him?”
Weskham looked at Cor. “Find some sturdy branches for a stretcher, please,” he told him before looking back at Regis. “Pull out one of the tents, if you would.”
Cor nodded and glanced at Regis. The prince looked ready to faint any second, even if he managed to concentrate enough to pull a tent from armoire.
Hopefully they wouldn’t need two stretchers.

FFXV Time Travel Idea
Regis time travels to before his Road Trip. However, something goes wrong. Instead of waking up as his younger self, he wakes up (young again) not in his younger self's body. In this world, he has somehow turned into a 13-year-old, his younger self from this timeline is 6, and now the backstory people are assuming about him is that 13 year old Regis is 6 year old Regis's illegitimate older brother. Regis, renamed Tsuna (means Bond, binding of a bond), witnesses from an outside perspective, watching in secret, his father's abuse made worse by mother's death, and decides, fuck it. He kidnapes baby Regis and hides in the wilds. Baby Clarus and Weskham go on a rampage looking for Baby Regis. Baby Regis is just happy about his new family.
They both primarily communicate between each other with magic, sometimes signs and gestures. By the time Tsuna goes to Angelgard and saves Ardyn, two years after saving baby Regis, having been laying low this entire time, both of them had forgotten how to communicate verbally in full sentences. Luckily, Ardyn remembers how to communicate in such a way from the years and years of silence that came from Somnus since he was a baby, having refused to speak a word in his childhood and barely saying anything in his adult years. The day of the Betrayal was probably the most he had heard Somnus say anything all at once and in full sentences. (That fact bugged Ardyn for years, especially once Tsuna utilized the Gift Eos gave to him to free Ardyn completely of the Scourge. If that had been Somnus, even with an audience, he wouldn't have said a word, just communicated everything through signs and his magic. His eyes... they had been so empty and lifeless.)
Clarus and Weskham would like a word with Regis's older brother, please. They would like their charge back, please, or at least be allowed to stay by his side, please! (oh, how not having his Retinue beside him ached. The bonds where they should be bleeding like an amputated limb or a lost organ, the lose a constant pain that baby Regis's newly formed fledgling bond with him can't heal despite its desperate attempts. Tsuna wishes he had been selfish enough to ask them to follow him into the past as he watches Regis interact with his Shield and Hand after two years of separation, Regis relearning how to speak more and more as the days go by.)

for the fic thing, numbers 4, 20, 33
Ah thank you!!
The fic writer questions post
I'm sorry in advance, this got really long, so I had to switch to desktop halfway through to format it so it wasn't just a big block of text 😅 Like... I'm sorry. Genuinely, I am really sorry.
4. What detail in [insert fic] are you really proud of?
I'm going to do Alkali [ffxv H2O AU] because it's the one I'm currently knee-deep in. I hope that's alright! Truth be told I'm proud of a ton of tiny details in that fic, but my favorite is the change in what fire represents as the fic goes on to parallel Ignis's feelings about himself and the others. It's one of my favorite little descriptions to 'hide' throughout while I'm writing because there's just so much you can do with it.
Fire is dangerous, but it can also represent safety and home. Also it looks beautiful and provides comfort, but if you get too close it will burn you. Something something masquerading as light and leaving only blackened ash something something. Lux Et Umbrae or whatever. Generic stuff. You know. It's enrichment for me though, so I have fun with it.
I think the point where his view on it begins to pivot for the better is after the diner scene with the TV when him and Noct have a chat at camp that night, because Noct is the light of my fucking life surprisingly good at saying awkwardly nice things. Like, okay, he's actually awful at it, but the sentiment is there. Also fire is actually really important in the backstory fic [hang on, I'm getting ahead of myself-] and there's a similar evolution in its meaning for Celor [Ignis's uncle] as well, though his development with it is a bit more straightforward and... Obvious? I guess XD
If you want something a bit more silly, I've hidden exactly 7 H2O: Just Add Water and 2 Aquamarine references in the parts I've written out so far. And 3 Ariel references in Ardyn's dialogue. Oh, you poor unfortunate soul...
20. If you wrote a prequel to [insert fic], what would it involve?
CELOR. cough. I technically have one fully planned [chapters and all], the catch is I actually have to finish the current fic first and oh boy. This backstory fic is technically split into 2 parts. Celor B.B [before baby] and Celor A.B [after baby]. <- I wish I were kidding, but that's how it's split in my brain. It's a lot of years!
Before is the whole 'King Regis and his sluts the gang go on that funky little road trip during the war' thing, which basically establishes Celor as a character, the Scientias in relation to the royal family, and his relationships with the other OGs [Old Guys]. Basically, it goes into detail of what happened in Altissia that caused Weskham to get injured and how the other guys found out about Celor.
It also details the events of that one throwaway dlc? Like some dude showed up in Insomnia? Idk, it was so weird. U might not remember it [joking. Episode Ardyn, M.E 734]. Celor wasn't there for the main event, so he doesn't! He was off working with Drautos to evacuate civilians and stuff. Which kinda starts off their whole one-sided rivalry because Drautos sees some stuff and is like '🤔' about it. Celor is... well, to put it nicely, an oblivious idiot and doesn't even realize, so Titus is snooping around and everyone in the Citadel is like 'dude stop' except for the guy he's actually investigating. I also believe that Drautos has pretty much always been working with the empire. It's not specified when, but you don't become high commander of an army overnight [stares down Ravus]... Just kinda weird that he had time to pull that while also captaining the Kingsglaive, so I think he's always been allied with the Imperials. I digress.
After this attack is over the kids are all born (or cloned, lol) [basically... give it like 2 years and everyone exists] and we enter the A.B era where Celor proves just how bad of a parental figure he can be. For the record, I don't normally like killing off parents in fics too often but, well, Ignis doesn't have any mentioned in canon, so it feels weird to just have them suddenly exist in present-day... Celor is already toeing the line of being a full-fledged OC because there are TWO LINES in the audio story Parting Ways where Ignis's uncle speaks and then I did ALL OF THIS with him. 😮‍💨
Anyway, Ignis's parents' names are Julia Scientia and Harry [who married into House Scientia and took the name]. I named Julia for one of the OG mermaids in H2O, who likely had Rikki's power, and Harry for Rita's fiance in Mako Mermaids who ISN'T a total jerkface, thank you, Karl, you fuckboy- his sole existence made me distrust Karl MM so hard my first time through lol. Anyway, given their names you can probably guess their stories, but also they both die at the end. As parents do when you're discussing protagonist backstories [stares in Aulea].
Julia is the identical twin of Celor [yes, I'm implying he's transgender, do you think their parents named her Julia and him CELOR? Hell no, that's a transmasc name if I've ever picked one-] and Ignis takes after her, and therefore looks a lot like Celor (a lot of people confuse him as being Celor's son). That's why, in chapter 1 of Alkali, Ignis is standing there musing if the mermaid-looking daemon Noct killed in the arcade game would've looked like him. It's not explained why he thinks that in the text, but there you go. Reasons! Oh, also, Julia and Harry are killed by a mob for suspicion of housing a daemon after Julia is discovered, leaving their house burning to the ground and Celor returning with a 2 year old to... that... [seriously, the civilians in this universe are kind of hardcore and not in a good way...].
Celor takes Ignis back to the Citadel after a lot of [kinda superficial because pretty much everyone knows what happened] questioning and Regis (who is also actively mourning his fucking wife and raising a newborn) is like "whatcha got there, bud" and Celor's like "trauma" and Regis just nods and lets it happen. Not... not actually, but that's basically how it goes. Dude gets it. By god bahamut does he get it. Clarus is working overtime so hard to help them both learn how to be a dad. Anyway, you can imagine Celor's surprise when Ignis comes into his magic and it turns out to be temperature control. AKA this kid can now light stuff on fire whenever he wants. Even more bad when it's emotionally-tied. Celor and Cor, uh, put a lid on that ticking time bomb real quick. Just, fully shoved it in the shoe box and wrapped it in 7 layers of duct tape and buried it in the woods. It's not still ticking. IT'S NOT. [It is. :(]
To make things... a little more clear, Celor isn't a bad parent, he's doing his best, but also he's absent-minded and kinda paranoid about keeping the secret after what happened to his sister. Which, you know, a very valid reaction, but also causes him and Ignis to argue a lot over it, especially regarding Noct, especially after the whole Marilith thing. Celor actually argued against Ignis becoming Noct's advisor at all, but Clarus eventually pushed him into it because the kid's gotta live his life at some point, you know? [You might notice some parallels between Clarus and Gladio throughout, because they tend to be the voice of reason :V (most of the time lol)]. But yeah, after the whole Marilith thing, while Noct and Regis are in Tenebrae, Ignis and Celor get into a huge fight about who gets to know about the secret, Celor takes Ignis to the Lux Et Umbrae museum exhibit to make things up to his nerd of a nephew, and I get to loredump about Solheim and how merpeople came to be under Leviathan :) Of course the museum is a little... off... on the details given they view merpeople as a legend about variants of darkness daemons, but still. Shapeshifters show up on full moon nights to steal the bodies of your loved ones and make you one of them, blah, blah. Celor explains it better from what he knows, and Ignis learns about their connection to Leviathan.
Which, oops! Because this kid is pretty determined and he near immediately formulates a plan to summon Leviathan and bargain with her to become 'normal'. Hence the necklace. Which, yeah! Iggy's skull necklace is an important part of Alkali. I don't really bring up too often until they reach Altissia. See, the bargain ended up working... for about a month, until Leviathan intentionally meddled with the set rules to get what she wants (as you do when you're a jealous, vengeful god that also wants your other god friend to, you know, NOT nuke the entire planet). Because Ignis even bargained with her in the first place, and due to the rules she set, he basically gives up his half of the bargain to 'save' Noct's life (it was not actually in danger... parallels!) and still has to pay Leviathan back for her half. The necklace is his reminder of that. A literal chain around his neck. Anyway during this whole thing, oops, Drautos sees some stuff and is like '??????' and passes this info on over to Ardyn who is like '👀👀 interesting...' because, you know, he's an immortal bitch with memories from tons of people and also literally Ifrit. Who was there when Leviathan made merpeople because she was jealous. Jealous and vengeful. Not a good combo... But, yeah, Ardyn easily puts two-and-two together. So, when the Titan roadtrip caravan scene happens in Alkali, it should make a bit more sense. It didn't really NEED explaining, because it's Ardyn, but hey. I did. Bite me.
[And, YES, technically Leviathan was sleeping at this time, but it's more of a dream-state of her being summoned than actually her. I... didn't exactly want 7-8 year old Ignis summoning a literal, very miffed god in the middle of Insomnia's bay. If you know the first ever scene of the water dragon appearing in Mako Mermaids, it's something like that. Water and moonlight and rancid vibes. That's actually another plot point in Alkali, because when they're in Altissia Leviathan wants to wake up on her own terms, so she's trying to get Ignis to the Altar of the Tide Mother to wake her up permanently with his blood. Hey... it comes full circle... ... I should write an offshoot of this where it actually works and angst happens. Hmmm...]
Anyway, things happen after that pretty much as written in Alkali already, though this backstory fic would also cover the fall of Insomnia from Celor's perspective and his death :( It's funny because throughout this, Celor goes from loathing fire, seeing it as the brutal destructive force, to seeing it as hope and joy as seen through the eyes of kid Ignis learning his magic [contrast that to how Ignis views his own magic after training lol], and then after Ignis leaves Insomnia, fire goes back to being this awful uncaring force of nature that ends up getting Celor killed. Well, okay, it was mostly Drautos. But fire played a big part in it. And that's Celor's story. Pathetic merman uncle.
Tumblr media
33. If you write chaptered fics, what’s your ideal chapter length to write? Is it different from your ideal chapter length to read?
Um, well. If the above showed you anything, I tend to write a lot... Sorry about that. I would say 20ish chapters is normally what I plan, but then everything goes off the rails. I intended for Alkali to be about 15 chapters, then it hit 20, then 30, now we're at 67 in planning and counting. Now if only I could actually write it all XD
And no, I love all kinds of fic!! One-shots, multi-chapters... So long as the premise is good, I'm here for it. I won't guarantee I remember to finish all the fics I start reading, but the chapter length has never held me back on starting them before. I just have a bad memory and never check my bookmarks :( Which I should do more often!!! Maybe I will do so tonight...
Anyway, thank you so much for letting me ramble about this! I really appreciate it, I'm always itching to talk about the stuff that lurks in my brain. 💙💙 I owe you one.

Do I need to write Regis or Weskham? (FFXV) No, no I do not, I have quite enough muses.
But what better time to test them out than while I'm putting together bios....? And there's some rpers I'd very much be interested in tossing them at.

flufftober day 22 - promnis 'no stakes'
Title: No Stakes Chapter: 4 of 6 Fandom: FFXV Pairing: Promnis (Prompto Argentum x Ignis Scientia) Rating: Teen (Subtle Flirting - Fluff - Ep Ignis V2 - Minor Angst - First Kisses - Feelings Realization) WordCount: ~2,090 Prompt: Picking
Read: Ch 1 Ch 2 Ch 3
---
The farmer’s market in Altissia was bustling early in the morning, which was good for Ignis. He had woken up early, extracting himself from a very clingy Prompto - not that he minded, oh no. He adored that Prompto was such a cuddly sleeper, as it helped him to stay asleep for much longer, sometimes to a fault. But no one seemed to mind that their breakfast was a little late sometimes due to his incapability to wake up at the crack of dawn since confessing his feelings to Prompto. Today was a unique exception, as they had arrived at Altissia late the day before, and today was a day to get acclimated to the city. So Ignis decided to go and explore, and found himself in the farmer’s market.
He picked through produce, looking for the very best that the stalls had to offer. He had seen them the night before when they’d gone to meet Weskham, who was a very nice gentleman. He could see why the King was friends with him, as he was proving to be a vital asset to their own group. He had pointed them towards the Leville, and had offered them free drinks and food, should they find themselves thirsty and hungry. They took him up on his offer the first night, but Ignis would not rely on that service again.
“Is there something in particular you’re looking for?” A lovely woman asked him, standing behind her wares of fruit. “Are you looking for something unique? Something familiar?”
“I’m just looking for now.” He didn’t want to be rude, as he was having a nice time browsing, but he knew that the woman needed to make some money. “How much are those melons?” He pointed to a group of green melons near where she was standing.
“These normally are fifteen gil a piece, but if you buy two, I’ll give you a third for free.”
It was a tempting offer. “Would you sell me two, and give me two for free?”
“I think that can be arranged.” She began to look for the ripest melons for him.
Ignis walked away from her stall with his melons in a bag, and went to a nearby stall that was selling nuts and cheeses. Most of the items here were for grazing, rather than for creating a specific meal, which was fine for him. His three friends seemed to pick and eat more than have a proper meal for every single meal of the day. Ignis has tried to make it so that they enjoy breakfast and dinner together, while lunch can be done in any sort of fashion that is suited to the individuals.
Something orange caught his eye. “Aha!” He looked at the gourd, and picked it up with one hand. “How much for this beauty?” He asked the stall owner, who was finishing up a conversation with another buyer.
“Ten gil, sir.”
He handed him the money, and added it to his bag with his melons. There were a few more stalls he visited, grabbing a few different items to take back with him to their suite. Once he was finished shopping, he hopped onto a gondola, and headed back to the hotel.
Everyone was still fast asleep when he entered the suite. Noctis and Gladio were sharing one room, while he and Prompto were sharing the other. It was fine - Noctis and Gladio knew about his and Prompto’s relationship, as he made it no secret to them. He didn’t think it was fair to keep Prompto hidden, when he cared for him so much. The blond had really made an impact on him, and he couldn’t help but make it known to the world at large.
Cutting up some melon, he took it to the bedroom he was sharing with Prompto, and saw that he was sprawled out on the bed, taking up the entire mattress. The sheet was down low around his hips, revealing his naked chest, with the slightest showing of his underwear beneath the sheets. Ignis pulled his phone out and quietly snapped a picture of his love, who looked delightfully beautiful in his passed out state.
Ignis set the plate down next to where Prompto’s head should have been, but since the pillows had been moved to the center of the bed, it gave Ignis a place to sit down without being encumbered. “Darling, wake up.” He leaned over and spoke quietly into his ear. “I’ve brought something for you.”
“Mmmm….” Prompto rolled over, and put his head directly onto his lap, causing Ignis to smile. He brought his gloved hand down to Prompto’s blond hair, and gently brushed some off of his face. “Iggy?” Violet eyes were soon looking up at him, after Prompto blinked a few times to get the sleep out of his eyes. His smile increased, as Prompto gazed up at him with a look of both happiness and slight confusion in them. “Is that you?”
“I hope so.” He teased, loving how confused Prompto was when he first woke up. It’s been something he’s been enjoying these last few weeks, as they’ve become very close to one another. “Who else would it be?”
“I dunno.” A soft yawn left Prompto’s mouth as he snuggled closer to Ignis’ lap. “You left?”
“I did.” Ignis nodded his head, while his fingers somehow found their way back to Prompto’s hair. He slowly began to play with his soft strands. “I’ve been gone for a little over an hour.”
“An hour?!” That woke up the blond, who sat up a bit too quickly. Ignis reached for his upper arms, steading him as he swayed a little from moving too fast. “Thank you, Iggy.” Prompto leaned forward, resting his head against Ignis’ shoulder.
Smiling, he put his arm around him. “I brought you something.”
“What did you bring me?” The weight on his shoulder disappeared as Prompto sat back up. “Is it something edible? I hope so, because I’m starving.”
He reached for the plate, and presented it to him. “I know you like melons, so I thought this would be a nice treat for breakfast.”
“Iggy!” Prompto threw his arms around his neck. Before the melon could fall, Ignis set the plate down on the bed, and returned the enthusiastic hug. “This is so nice! Thank you!”
“You are quite welcome, darling.” He brushed a soft kiss to his cheek, then picked up the plate to hand to him. “Why do you enjoy this, while I go and get the other melon cut up for the Prince and Gladiolus?”
“You didn’t do it all together?” Ignis shook his head. “You must really love me.”
His cheeks grew warm at Prompto’s comment. It was innocent, and he knew Prompto didn’t mean it in the way he was currently taking it, but that didn’t stop him from thinking about it. Is this love? He’d been so involved with the Prince for most of his life, that he never once thought about what it would be like to fall in love with someone. Could this be that? He looked forward to spending time with Prompto. He slept better when Prompto was near him. On the nights that Prompto wound up between Noctis and Gladiolus - those were the most difficult for him, as he slept poorly. He would wait for Prompto’s reactions to his cooking, and would only smile when Prompto made a particular face which meant he really liked the dish.
Oh.
This is love.
Ignis gave Prompto a small smile, then stood up from the bed while Prompto continued to eat his melon. “I’ll return soon, darling.”
He left the room, very aware that he hadn’t bothered to contradict Prompto. As he sliced up the rest of the melon, he was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn’t hear either the Prince, or Gladio, as the two came over to him. It took someone snapping their fingers directly in front of his face to pull him out of his thinking.
“You good, Ignis?” Gladio asked, pointing to his knife. “You’ve been slicing air for about two minutes now.”
Looking down, he could see that the melon had all been cut, and there was nothing left for him to slice. “Oh. I see.” He set his knife down, then looked at Noctis, who was staring at him with a knowing expression on his face. “Your breakfast.” He pointed to the cut melon, then grabbed a few slices for himself.
“Should we save some for Prompto?” Noctis asked.
Ignis shook his head. “No, he already has some.”
“I bet he does.”
He didn’t hear the Prince though, as he was already walking back to the room he shared with Prompto. He had to talk to him, otherwise this was going to drive him mad.
Prompto was finishing the last piece of melon when he entered the room. “Iggy!” Prompto set the empty plate down. “You’re back so soon!”
“Was I gone for long?” He came to a sudden stop, not at all sure where he was going with this. “I didn’t think I was.”
“You weren’t, don’t worry.” The bedsheet fell off of Prompto as he stood up, and walked over to him in only his underwear. “Are you okay, Iggy? You look a little pale.”
Pushing his glasses back up onto the bridge of his nose, he gave a sharp nod of his head. “I am, Prompto. I…I need to tell you something.”
“Oh, no.” Prompto quickly sat back down on the edge of the bed, a worried look coming over his face. “What’s wrong??”
“What?” He blinked, then shook his head. “Nothing is wrong. Quite the opposite.” He went over to where Prompto was, and reached for his hand. He felt a bit calmer with Prompto’s fingers now lacing with his, the weight of his hand against his feeling divine. “I want you to know that I love you.”
“I know, Iggy.” Prompto leaned his head against his shoulder.
“No, I mean, I’m in love with you, Prompto.”
“I know.” Prompto’s eyes met his, a mischievous smile on his lips as Ignis stared at him with wonder in his own eyes. “You’re in love with me. Just like how I’m in love with you.”
It made his chest feel like it was on fire, hearing Prompto say the words back to him. He brought his hand up to his lips and planted a kiss on the back of his hand. “I didn’t know. When you asked me about cutting up your fruit before everyone else, it sort of hit me.”
“Oh, is that why you left??” Prompto laughed. “Oh, Iggy. What am I going to do with you?”
“I suppose you’ll need to be patient with me, as I was unaware of the most simple thing.” He lowered his head, and laid a sweet kiss on the blond’s lips. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” The words were whispered against his lips before Prompto pressed another kiss to them. “I like saying it.”
“I like hearing you say it.” Ignis admitted.
Prompto kissed him again. “I won’t tell the others, Iggy. This can stay between the two of us.”
“Whatever you wish, darling.” He murmured against his lips, hungry for another taste.
Sharing a few more kisses, Ignis reluctantly pulled away from Prompto knowing that they had a long day ahead of them. “I’m going to go shower, Iggy.” Prompto stood up from the bed, his face and neck slightly flushed. “I won’t be long.”
“Enjoy your shower.” He resisted the urge to join him, having already showered himself before heading out to shop for breakfast for his friends.
There was still much to be done before the Prince was to make his pact with the Hydraean tomorrow. They had to meet with the first secretary of Altissia to finalize the preparations for what needed to be done. They had to get the citizens out of the city, as they knew that the Niflheim army was going to be making their own stand against them. But knowing that Prompto was going to be nearby, it made the overwhelming tasks seem less difficult.
Ignis knew that there would be plenty of time to spend together after the pact was made. He would make sure Prompto knew just how much he loved him after the ceremony. Until then, he had to focus on the tasks at hand. It was going to be a very, very long day.
