Feysand - who is more of a cuddler

The simple answer is I think it's Rhys.

The longer answer is that I don't think Feyre grew up in an environment where physical affection came readily. I think the closest thing she really got to it was huddling with her sisters for warmth in their shared bed—but that was about survival.

Everything she knows about love is rough-edged. She loves her family, so she endures the bitter cold and learns how to hunt. She loves her family, so she puts herself between them and the faerie beast breaking down their door. She loves Tamlin, so she survives three months of physical and emotional torture to save him and his people.

She loves Tamlin, but they don't know how to be soft with each other. She doesn't know how to tell him that she's struggling and he's not ready to hear it, so they fuck and they fight and there's very little middle ground.

Feyre doesn't know how to be soft.

Who wants someone around who's so covered in thorns?

It doesn't come naturally to her. it wouldn't, when for all her life, love has been an act of sacrifice. Not some warm, pleasant thing.

And who better to teach her the ways that love can be soft than Rhys? Rhys, who has also sacrificed so much for the people he loves, who understands what it's like to give so much of yourself away you become unrecognizable.

He's more of a cuddler, because he remembers what it felt like when Mor hugged him for the first time in 50 years. What it was to be held with such deep, earnest love and not to be asked anything for it in return.

I think Rhys is more a cuddler because he remembers what it's like to be deprived of that, and he wants to teach his mate that she can be loved in ways that don't demand anything from her.

I think Rhys is more of a cuddler because he once heard her heart stop beating, and sometimes he needs to feel her chest thudding against his to be sure that she's really there. That they made it. That they're safe.

So I think Rhys is more a cuddler. And I think he often rests his head on Feyre's chest to listen to her heart, and they both just lay there in silence, holding each other and feeling their wounds slowly, slowly mend.

I believe at some point in the next books we'll see Nyx getting kidnapped (idk by whom or how, sjm can do the thinking). It's not that I want him to but it's worth reading a half wild beast Feyre doing everything in her power to get her son back. Tears through every court and continent, be merciless and wear the ones' blood who had any hand in taking her son away from her like a second skin. And you know she would be more feral than she was in acomaf:

How would Feyre and Rhys react to them switching bodies for one day and what would they do?

I have been thinking about this ask since you sent it, and I keep laughing.

Obvs, the first thing I thought of is that they will have sex. Because A) this is Rhys and Feyre, and B) that’s pretty much the first thing that comes to mind if I were to be in a dude’s body. But it would be HILARIOUS, and would go something like this:

Rhys, after having sex: That’s what that feels like? No wonder you make those noises.

Feyre, after having sex: I’m really not sure how you walk around with physical evidence of your attraction to me just there for everyone to see. I’m pretty hot, so I commend your self-control.

Rhys: Well I don’t understand how you walk around with these boobs, how do you fight? How do you practice archery? How do you keep from playing with them all the time?

And then we might have something like this:

Feyre: *in Rhys’ body, putting her hands in her pockets*

Rhys: why do you keep doing that?

Feyre: I’m trying to figure out if it helps you think or what exactly is going on when you do this. I don’t get it.

Or something like this:

Rhys: Wow, you’re really uncoordinated.

Feyre: Well I haven’t had centuries of practice brooding in this body, so forgive my inadequacies at portraying the whole Lord of the Night, King of Darkness look.

I’d like to think they would have some fun with Cassian as well. Like… Rhys would maybe start hitting on him, and he knows that Cassian would never, ever take the bait and reciprocate, but it would be hilarious? Picture this:

Rhys, in Feyre’s body: Cassian, have you ever… you know… considered us?

Cassian: *puzzled* Like as bros?

Rhys: *sultry voice* No, silly, I mean… as something more. Something so much better. *places her hand on Cassian’s chest* I’ve just been having some feelings, lately…

Cassian: *gulps and backs away* Feyre, you’re my High Lady. You know I would do anything for you. And I find you very, very attractive, but you are not a single lady, and I am not a single dude.

Rhys: *pouting* Aw, Cassy, are you sure? I’m just so hot for you right now.

Cassian: *claps Rhys/Feyre on the back and laughs nervously* You sure are funny, Feyre. I’m so glad I have such a funny friend who understands that she is my bro. *backs away slowly*

Nyx Headcanons

Headcanons for my favorite little bean, because we don't talk about him enough.

He 100% inherits Rhys's "earth-shattering" power. That extra chapter where Feyre and Rhys were deciding on a name and basically felt powers shifting in the Force when Nyx came up makes me firmly believe that.

He's a good, sweet kid but also goes through a few phases where he's an absolute nightmare to raise through no fault of his own. Nyx is a happy baby, but has zero concept of his power when it starts to show, leaving one very tired High Lord and High Lady when he shatters a window in his nursery when wiggling his arms excitedly.

He's an intuitive little guy though and very quickly figures out he needs to be careful when Feyre and Rhys try to teach him to get a handle on that power. He learns this the hard way after accidentally nightmisting one of his toys.

Nobody for the life of them can figure out why he adores cranky Auntie Amren so much. Though he's not old enough to explain it, he thinks she's another child to play with. Cassian suggests this and Amren nearly rips his head off.

Nyx is a full-fledged mama's boy. He adores Feyre and is a complete snugglebug with her. He's also very protective of his mama.

That said, he idolizes his dad too and copies everything he does. He follows Rhys around and mimics everything, right down to trying to copy the High Lord's graceful swagger. Feyre, naturally, absolutely melts at the sight of him waddling after his dad with one hand in his pocket looking too cool for school on his tiny little legs.

Nyx is obsessed with Starfall, and his first-ever painting is a finger painting of him with his parents under those stars. Rhys gets misty-eyed when he sees it.

He's besties with Kallias and Viviane's little snow angel. The fact they're the same age is perfect--when the grown-ups are too boring tending to one courtly matter or the other, Nyx and his friend can easily pass the time playing in the snow. Nyx already has met his match in the realm of snowball fighting, and takes a new tactic or two back to absolutely wallop his uncles. Rhys could not be more proud of this fact.

Nyx takes his role as Eldest Cousin very seriously, but there's one cousin in particular who absolutely does not and will not listen to a word he says. Guess whose kid that cousin is.

Nyx takes a little too much after his mother sometimes in that he befriends every semi-civil demon-thing or dark spirit that walks the face of the earth. To Uncle Cassian's absolute horror, Nyx is apparently friends with Bryaxis...and Bryaxis loves this kid.

Headcanon

Rhys has a pantry full of girl scout cookies. Everytime they knock on his door he's like "Okay I'll take twelve" and just puts them in the pantry because he's not really a cookie guy, he leaves them there for the IC.

The pantry is even more full when Feyre is pregnant and starts craving these cookies, Rhys makes sure there's enough cookies for Feyre.

Rhys's house is like the the first girl scout stop because they know he will buy cookies

Feyre and Rhys are very adamant about getting reader pregnant- they try as often as you let them, and they're both firm believers that an omegas pleasure increases fertility

Your scent changes slowly, but once it's noticeable the two of them are all over you, constantly scenting you

Doctors visits are a weekly occurance for you, sometimes twice a week if one of them is fussing over a symptom you're having (usually Rhys)

Morning sickness is no joke, and one if not both of them are always there, holding your hair back

If one of them leaves your side for more than an hour or leaves the house, they bring you back a gift or treat.

Once you start having cravings, Feyre and Rhys go above and beyond to get you what you need- including cooking or baking for you (well, Feyre sits on the counter with you and looks cute/gives you aaall of the attention while the two of you watch Rhys)

When you sleep, Rhys and Feyre sleep on either side of you, Rhys closest to the door. They keep one hand on your bump at all times no matter which position you sleep in.

Once they can hear the baby's heartbeat, Feyre spends at least a half an hour with her ear to your stomach listening every day. When Rhys is feeling stressed and tired, the two of you curl up on a couch together, with you sitting on one end (with a pillow, of course) and Rhys laying with his head on your lap and an ear against your tummy.

They become even more protective, even going as far as to growl at any alphas that enter your bakery, until you finally break and put an end to it. They grovel a bit, and tone down their aggression towards everyone who comes within ten feet of you.

Once you start nesting, Feyre is always with you. She helps you do everything, coaxes you to eat and forces you to bathe even if she has to drag you from your nest (as much as it hurts her to hear you cry). Rhys brings replacements of fabrics every few days, and they switch them out while you're asleep. Rhys brings food for the both of you, and anything he thinks of that you might want- from cute stuffies to books to tea and treats.

You start having emotional outbursts after a couple of months, mainly over your alphas- how cute, pretty, sexy they are, if they get you something you cry about it until they hold you and stroke your hair.

When you're finally in labor, Feyre and Rhys are absolute messes. They take turns sitting behind you and supporting your body, but for every tear you shed, they shed one too (or more).

I'm just obseeeessed with these threeee I'm so excited for everything about this series! I can't wait for possessive, jealous Feyre and worry wart Rhys. I love them so much alreadyyy and I haven't even written them yeeeet

Because now he has Nyx AND his high lord duties (and a wife) so he doesn't really have the time to shave or trim his hair. And Feyre... loves it!!

She loves that when his head is down while focusing on working and his hair falls on his forehead. She loves it when he combs it with his fingers and it does nothing but make it messier and at the same time flex his arm unknowingly. She loves it when the strands frame his handsome face. She loves to tuck them behind his ears while he's holding their son because he can't do it. She loves LOVES to run her fingers through his hair while he's going down on her...

And when one day he decides to cut it, she forbids him while sit on his face, pull his hair at the same time and his stubble scratches her inner thighs...

And that's how they make their second baby lol

Some Night Court-style jewelry that’s not just basic stars and moons

Hear me out… Nyx’s first word is Nesta (or to be more precise: “Nes” while pointing at her and giggling). Do I think this will happen in canon? No way in hell; it’s probably something boring like “Ma” or “Dada” in a future bonus chapter (just kidding… or am I? Let’s face it, this screams bonus chapter material).

I’m into this headcanon for the pure CHAOS and comedy of it all. Rhys is incandescent with fury but forced to be outwardly happy around Nyx, praising his son for his first word. Feyre is a little disappointed but too thrilled with how intelligent her baby is (idk maybe he starts speaking two months ahead of schedule or something). Cassian starts chanting “Cas” at the baby to no avail — Nyx just stares at him blankly and repeats “Nes” confusedly again. Elain smiles and says that it’s only fitting considering how Aunty Nesta was responsible for Nyx’s safe delivery.

Azriel stays quiet and is the only person to hear Rhys mutter that maybe Nyx was trying to say his own name and that baby X’s sound like S’s. Right then, Nyx screams “Nes!!!” again and toddles into Nesta’s arms. Azriel fails to keep a straight face at Rhys’s quiet rage while Feyre is furiously lecturing her mate via mindspeak. Amren and Mor are sipping on glasses of wine, mentally promising themselves to continue a child-free existence for the rest of eternity.

Bonus: Nesta is shocked but privately very gratified. She hasn’t been trying to teach Nyx to say her name, unlike some members of the Inner Circle. But she takes this memory and holds it close to her heart for the rest of her life. 🥹

(I do not think any of this actually happens, but the Nyx vs Nes sound similarity is too good to ignore. It SHOULD be canon. Think of the comedy, Sarah!!!)

Thinking about how each of the Archeron husbands would be a crying mess watching their beloveds walk down the aisle and it’s making me hella emotional 😭

Rhys’s lips are trembling so hard and he’s trying to wipe his eyes as fast as possible so he doesn’t miss a second of his Feyre darling beaming at him.

Cassian is sniffling so loudly (“It’s the flowers.” he wails) and Nesta’s smile at his antics is the only thing keeping him from breaking down completely.

Lucien has to take a few deep breaths before he turns around and it’s those silent, joyful tears streaming down his face and Elain’s giving him a warning look through her own teary eyes because he if doesn’t stop, she’ll start crying and then the feelings will overwhelm them both.

And they’re all so happy and so excited to spend the rest of the lives with their loves 😭
