to all my fellow Jewish people have a safe and happy Rosh Hashanah
Rosh Hashanah (Hebrew: רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה‎, Rōʾš hašŠānā, literally 'head of the year') is the New Year in Judaism. The biblical name for this holiday is Yom Teruah (יוֹם תְּרוּעָה‎, Yōm Tərūʿā, lit. 'day of shouting/blasting'). It is the first of the High Holy Days (יָמִים נוֹרָאִים‎, Yāmīm Nōrāʾīm, 'Days of Awe"), as specified by Leviticus23:23–25, that occur in the late summer/early autumn of the Northern Hemisphere. Rosh Hashanah begins ten days of penitence culminating in Yom Kippur, as well as beginning the cycle of autumnal religious festivals running through Sukkotwhich end on Shemini Atzeret in Israel and Simchat Torah everywhere else.
Rosh Hashanah is a two-day observance and celebration that begins on the first day of Tishrei, which is the seventh month of the ecclesiastical year. In contrast to the ecclesiastical lunar new year on the first day of the first month Nisan, the spring Passover month which marks Israel's exodus from Egypt, Rosh Hashanah marks the beginning of the civil year, according to the teachings of Judaism, and is the traditional anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve, the first man and woman according to the Hebrew Bible, as well as the initiation of humanity's role in God's world.
Rosh Hashanah customs include sounding the shofar (a hollowed-out ram's horn), as prescribed in the Torah, following the prescription of the Hebrew Bible to "raise a noise" on Yom Teruah. Its rabbinical customs include attending synagogue services and reciting special liturgy about teshuva, as well as enjoying festive meals. Eating symbolic foods, such as apples dipped in honey, hoping to evoke a sweet new year, is an ancient tradition recorded in the Talmud.
Etymology
Rosh is the Hebrew word for "head", ha is the definite article ("the"), and shana means year. Thus Rosh Hashanah means "head of the year", referring to the day of the New Year.
The term Rosh Hashanah in its current meaning does not appear in the Torah. Leviticus 23:24 refers to the festival of the first day of the seventh month as zikhron teru'ah ("a memorial of blowing [of horns]") Numbers 29:1 calls the festival yom teru'ah("day of blowing [the horn]").
The term rosh hashanah appears once in the Bible (Ezekiel 40:1), where it has a different meaning: either generally the time of the "beginning of the year", or possibly a reference to Yom Kippur, or to the month of Nisan.
In the prayer books (siddurs and machzors), Rosh Hashanah is also called Yom haZikkaron"the day of remembrance", not to be confused with the modern Israeli remembrance day of the same name.

Royal British Legion - Festival of Remembrance London 11/11/23 by u/Carrie56
Royal British Legion - Festival of Remembrance London 11/11/23 This event is taking place this afternoon and evening in London, and attended by all the Senior Royals.Interestingly, a beautiful performance was given by member of Team UK who participated in the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf earlier this year. The words spoken and gymnastic actions from the veterans was impressive and moving - and all about how much the Games meant to them and how they helped with their recovery from the injuries and PTSD.Best thing of all - not one mention was made of either of the Harkles - this was all about the injured veterans who took part - which is how the Games were always meant to be - it’s not about the so called founder/ patron and his attention seeking wife - it’s all about the achevements of brave men and women injured in the course of their duty! post link: https://ift.tt/8CN5IPr author: Carrie56 submitted: November 11, 2023 at 11:03PM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

All we have of freedom, all we use or know - This our fathers bought for us long and long ago.
- Rudyard Kipling, The Old Issue
I’m so far away from both Britain and France here in Dubai, that I forgot to pack my poppy and regimental pin to mark this solemn ocassion of remembrance. So here’s an old pic that has personal resonance to me to mark such a day in the past.
I had my calendar marked as I always do for such times but forgot to bring them on my posting here in Dubai, not thinking I would be extending my stay here. Surreal that Dubai celebrates every God damn festive celebration from around the world that isn’t its own and yet I don’t see anything to mark this monumental ocassion where literally men and women gave their lives so that we could live in a more peaceful world. It seems we only celebrate things that makes us feel good rather than give us pause to reflect on forgotten virtues like sacrifice, heroism, courage, and yes, even those most maligned of words, honour and duty.
These maligned words found their virtue in the example and sacrifices of all those who fought past two world wars. But now even the last of these old veterans of the second world war have all but passed away. All we have is nostagia. When we memorialise the Great War for example we honour its 10 million dead and 23 million mutilated. But, less obviously, we also mark the start of an ongoing, monumental collective effort of forgetting.
We should always remember those who gave all. At least we should try. For they are us. There are three deaths as someone once told me. The first is when the body ceases to function. The second is when the body is consigned to the grave. The third is that moment, sometime in the future, when your name is spoken for the last time.
One lives in the hope of becoming a memory. We are all the pieces of what we remember. We hold in ourselves the hopes and fears of those who love us. As long as there is love and memory, there is no true loss. Shakespeare said, ‘Praising what is lost makes the remembrance dear."
Lest we forget....

‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭23:4‭-‬8‬ ‭(NLT)‬‬. “In addition to the Sabbath, these are the Lord’s appointed festivals, the official days for holy assembly that are to be celebrated at their proper times each year. “The Lord’s Passover begins at sundown on the fourteenth day of the first month. On the next day, the fifteenth day of the month, you must begin celebrating the Festival of Unleavened Bread. This festival to the Lord continues for seven days, and during that time the bread you eat must be made without yeast. On the first day of the festival, all the people must stop their ordinary work and observe an official day for holy assembly. For seven days you must present special gifts to the Lord. On the seventh day the people must again stop all their ordinary work to observe an official day for holy assembly.”
“Feasting As Worship” by In Touch Ministries:
“Gathering to celebrate God’s goodness honors Him and blesses us.”
“When the Israelites entered the Promised Land after years of wandering in the desert, God issued a strange command: Feast.
Feasting and enjoying the bounty of the land were meant to tie the Israelites to different rhythms throughout the year—such as harvesting the first and last of the year’s crops. Festivals were also a way of commemorating the mighty acts of God on the people’s behalf, like the night of the Passover when God spared all who’d painted their doors with the blood of a lamb. Ultimately, these celebrations were an act of worship that reoriented God’s people to right relationship with Him. God was their provider and sustainer, so they feasted with gratitude. He was their rescuer and redeemer, so they feasted in holy remembrance.
Today we can learn healthy spiritual habits from these observances prescribed by God for the ancient Israelites. When we pause to give thanks for our blessings, we worship God with our time and attention. When we gather to simply enjoy His good gifts, we remember that “every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17)—not from our own striving.
When was the last time you paused to savor God’s goodness, remember His faithfulness, and worship Him? Consider taking time to taste and see the goodness of God today.”

Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day
A national holiday in the Canadian province of Quebec and celebrated by French Canadians worldwide, especially in Canada and the United States, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, June 24,  honors the traditional feast day of the Nativity — or birth — of St. John the Baptist. The religious nature of the holiday has been de-emphasized for civic events, and “la St-Jean” is now mainly a celebration of francophone culture and history filled with public events, parades, barbecues, picnics and fireworks. Bonne Saint-Jean-Baptiste!
When is Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day 2022?
Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, or St John the Baptist Day, is celebrated on June 24 in the Canadian province of Quebec and by French Canadians across Canada and the United States.
History of Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day
Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day is a national holiday celebrated on June 24 in Quebec, where it’s also known as ‘Fête nationale du Québec’ (‘national holiday of Quebec’ in English). Many Canadian Francophone communities outside of Quebec also celebrate Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day.
The holiday festivities start on June 23 and people gather to celebrate Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day and Francophone culture with outdoor activities, parades, concerts, and fireworks. Smaller celebrations are also held in neighborhoods, like bonfires, barbecues, and picnics. The white fleur-de-lis on the flag of Quebec is the symbol of this holiday. Blue and white are the colors of the day, and the flag is waved and hoisted at Fête nationale du Québec events.
The history of Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day is more than 100 years old. The day originally marked the honorary remembrance of the Christian saint, John the Baptist, but all this changed in 1834 when Canadian-French journalist Ludger Duvernay witnessed a St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Montreal. Seeing the grand celebration for an honorary figure inspired him to form a similar holiday for French Canadians to honor their heritage. Duvernay established the charitable association, the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Society, in the same year, and the holiday was observed for the first time on June 24. The association was chartered in 1849 with the aim of promoting moral and social progress.
Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day was celebrated on and off for years until it finally became an official holiday in Quebec in 1925. The day has been observed every year since and has become a mark of Francophone culture.
Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day timeline
1646 Shots fired
One of the first recognized celebrations of Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day took place on the banks of the Saint Lawrence River with bonfires and shots from a cannon.
1694 Holiday declared
Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day is declared a public holiday by the second bishop of Quebec, Jean-Baptiste de La Croix de Chevrières de Saint-Vallier.
1744 The bishop of Quebec ruins the party
According to some sources, Henri-Marie Dubreil de Pontbriand, the sixth bishop of Quebec, tries to abolish Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day celebrations because he felt they had strayed too far from their religious origins.
1834 Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day Promoted
Journalist Ludger Duvernay, inspired by Montreal’s Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations, establishes the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Society to promote Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day.
1977 Fete Nationale du Quebec
Lieutenant Governor Hugues Lapointe declares June 24, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, a national holiday in Quebec.
Traditions
Many celebratory events are organized around Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day. From small family gatherings like picnics, bonfires, parties, and yard sales, to large organized events such as concerts, parades, sports tournaments, and firework displays, there is something for everyone. Church bells also ring in celebration, and local funfairs and dances are hosted. These events are also sometimes broadcast live on TV or live-streamed on social media. The celebrations are coordinated by the Mouvement national des Québécoises et des Québécois.
The colors for the day are blue and white, with many people wearing these to attend events. The public holiday is a day off from school and most businesses are also closed.

Chaitra Navratri 2023: Rituals,Yoga, Days And Pujas To Perform
Tumblr media
Navratri is a significant Hindu festival that is celebrated for nine nights on the Indian subcontinent during autumn. Traditionally, there are four seasonal Navratris, and the Sharada or Shardiya Navratri is celebrated after the monsoon season in remembrance of the Divine Feminine Devi. During this time, Hindus perform the customs and rites of Ghatasthapana and Sandhi Puja, which are considered to be the two most frequently observed muhurtas. Chaitra Navratri 2023 is particularly significant as it falls during the Shardiya Navratri, and Hindus observe the customs and rituals of Ghatasthapana and Sandhi Puja during this time.
The Navratri puja, also known as Vasanta Navratri, is a celebration that honors the sacred feminine Devi or Durga. Devotees worship and honor Divine Durga in her nine forms during this festival. The word "Vasanta" is derived from the Sanskrit language and signifies spring, which is when this Navratri occurs. It takes place during the Chaitra lunar month, which typically falls between March and April after the winter season. In some regions, this festival is celebrated after the spring season, while in others, it is observed after the harvest season. It is also significant as it marks the first day of the Hindu calendar, making it the Hindu New Year according to the Vikram Samvat calendar.

The Month of Nissan
Passover, Unleavened Bread and First fruits
PASSOVER
The Passover is a festival that commemorates the deliverance of the Israelites from Egyptian bondage. This is found in the Torah, in the book of Exodus chapter 12. Exodus 6:6 tells us the following; “Therefore, say to the sons of Israel, I am YAHWEH, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of Egypt, and will deliver you from their slavery. And I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.”
Moses, who had been raised in Pharaoh’s palace, was called and sent by God to tell Pharaoh, “Let my people go.” Exodus 8:1 reads; “And the LORD spoke unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus says the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.” So Pharaoh refused hence the start of what is known as the ‘Ten Plagues’ that led to Egypt’s demise and eventual downfall. The tenth plague was the worst of ALL the plagues, that being the deaths of ALL the firstborns of Egypt.
The deaths of all the firstborn happen on the very evening of the ‘Passover’ as earlier that evening each of the Israelite families had sacrificed a spotless lamb, and as instructed by Moses, they marked their doorpost and lintels with blood as Exodus 12:21-22 indicates; “21- And Moses called to all the elders of Israel and said to them, Draw out and take of the flock for you and for your families, and kill the Passover. 22- And take a bunch of hyssop and dip in the blood in the basin. And touch some of the blood in the basin to the lintel and on the two doorposts. And you shall not go out, anyone from the door of his house until morning.” This insured that death would pass over the households with the blood mark over their doorpost and lintels; “23- And YAHWEH will pass through to strike Egypt. And He will see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, and YAHWEH will pass over the door. And He will not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.” Hence, the name ‘PASSOVER.’
Since the Israelites kept God’s commandments and instructions given to them via Moses, all their firstborn lived, while the Egyptians didn’t. Walling and pain was heard through the midnight hours as all the firstborn from Egypt died; see Exodus 12:21–29. Then and only then, Pharaoh released the Israelites; see Exodus 12:31-32.
Passover is a commemorative meal in remembrance of how God delivered its people. The meal consisted of fire-roasted lamb, bitter herbs, and unleavened bread as instructed by God; see Exodus 12:8, and God, via Moses, instructed the Israelites to “you shall observe this Word for an ordinance for you, and for your sons forever.” (Exodus 12:24). And so they do to this day. Wherever they are, whatever country they reside, they observe and keep the ‘PASSOVER.’
This should be and is important to every believer since Yeshua, Jesus, not only fulfilled the written law of the Torah, according to Mathew 5:17; “Do not think that I came to annul the Torah or the Prophets; I did not come to annul, but to fulfill.” But He also became the ‘Passover’ Lamb, the lamb that was slain for our sins. Yeshua was killed at Passover time, and the ‘Last Supper’ was a Passover meal according to Luke 22:7 & 8 that reads; “7- And the day of the Unleavened came, on which the Passover must be slaughtered. 8- And He sent Peter and John, saying, Having gone, prepare for us the Passover, that we may eat.” The blood of Messiah has been applied to every believer by faith (spiritually speaking), hence, we are saved from death and eternal damnation. Jesus became our Passover Lamb as 1 Corinthians 5:7 tells us; “Then clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are unleavened. For our Passover is Messiah who was sacrificed for our sake.” And Revelations 5:12 says the following; “saying with a great voice, Worthy is the Lamb having been slain to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.”
The Passover was a fore shadow of God’s redemptive power of how His son (the Lamb of God) was to deliver humanity from sin (Egypt). Salvation would come for all those that would chose to obey God’s commandments.
Note: Constellation: Aries (THE RAM or LAMB) – The 1st Month of The Spiritual Calendar
Aries is a lamb or ram bounding across the night sky. Its Hebrew name is TALEH, “the lamb.” The Passover lamb as heaven and earth connect. The constellations brightest star is called “The head of the ram.” The ram and the lamb are powerful symbols of salvation.
It is possible that the first six constellations may be prophetically speaking of the 1st Coming of Messiah and the last 6 constellations are speaking of the 2nd Coming of Messiah. The Jewish people itself is symbolized by a lamb (surrounded by seventy wolves). Of all of God's creations, the lamb possesses the innate ability to arouse mercy by its voice (the origin of the sense of speech of the month of Nissan).
Unleavened Bread
As I mentioned before, the meal consisted of fire-roasted lamb, bitter herbs, and unleavened bread. Leviticus 23:6-8 reads as follow; 6- And on the fifteenth day of this month is the Feast of Unleavened to YAHWEH; you shall eat unleavened things seven days. 7- On the first day you shall have a holy gathering; you shall do no laborious work; 8- and you shall bring near a fire offering to YAHWEH seven days; and the seventh day shall be a holy gathering; you shall do no laborious work.” This feast of ‘Unleavened bread was to be kept for seven days and it is followed right after Passover. From 15 Nissan to 21 Nissan. This feast is a purifying feast representing the purity that Israel was to walk in. This is illustrated in the fact that during those seven days they would eat bread without leaven. The leaven symbolized sin and sin was representative of Egypt, hence their deliverance from it during the spilled blood of the lamb on the evening of the Passover.
First fruits
This is a Jewish feast that is held the beginning of the grain harvest in early spring. It’s observed in the 16 Nissan three days after the Passover and on the second day of the feast of Unleavened Bread. First fruits is a time of thanksgiving for God’s provision.
First fruits is an offering unto God that was instituted by God as Leviticus 23:9-14 states. It reads as follow; “9- And YAHWEH spoke to Moses, saying, 10- Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them, When you come in to the land which I am giving to you, and have reaped its harvest, and have brought in the Omer, of the beginning of your harvest, to the priest, 11- then he shall wave the Omer before YAHWEH for your acceptance; on the morrow of the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. 12- And you shall prepare a lamb in the day you wave the Omer, one without blemish, a son of a year, for a burnt offering to YAHWEH. 13- And its food offering shall be two tenths part of flour mixed with oil, a fire offering to YAHWEH, a sweet fragrance; and its drink offering, a fourth of a hin of wine. 14- And you shall not eat bread, nor roasted grain, nor fresh ears, until this same day, until you have brought the offering of your Elohim; it is a never ending statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings.” The people were to bring a sheaf of grain to the priest, who would then wave it before the Lord. A burnt offering, a meal offering, and a drink offering were also required at that time. Deuteronomy 26:1-10 gives greater details on the procedure of first fruits.
Leviticus 23:14 tells us specifically that no grain could be harvested until the first fruits offering was brought to the Lord. This was an offering made in memory of  Israel’s sojourn in Egypt, God’s deliverance and redemption from slavery, and their possession of “a land that floweth with milk and honey.” Leviticus 20:24 “But I have said to you, You shall surely possess their land; and, I, I am giving it to you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey; I am YAHWEH your Elohim, who has set you apart from the nations.” (See also Numbers 13:27, Deuteronomy 6:3; 11:9; 26:9 and many more references totaling 21 scriptures mentioning a land flowing with milk and honey).
First fruits offering is mentioned seven times in the New Testament and it is always used in a symbolic way as indicated by the Apostle Paul in Romans 16:5 and 1 Corinthians 16:15.
Yeshua himself fulfilled the first fruit offering according to 1 Corinthians 15:20 that reads as follow; “But now Messiah has been raised from the dead; He became the first-fruit of those having fallen asleep.” When Yeshua, Jesus, resurrected HE PAVED THE WAY FOR ALL BELIEVERS RESURRECTION. Jesus was crucified and died on Passover but God raised Jesus from the dead on the Feast of First fruits, 16 Nissan, to show that He was the First fruits of a new creation, exactly three days after Passover, a day of thanksgiving for God’s provision. Paul said that His resurrection guarantees our resurrection. The FIRST of a great harvest.
God had planned this before the foundation of the earth. First fruits represents the following; we are to give to God from the premises of a grateful heart, more so that Jesus gave His life to redeem us, to restore our fellowship with the Father. Above all, we are to give Him the first and the best of ALL He has given us. Messiah fulfilled the law therefore we are to give freely, cheerfully and with all liberty knowing and understanding the price that Messiah paid for us. Let us gather the first fruits that symbolizes God’s harvest of souls. After all, Yeshua did that for us.
I end with this verse out of 2 Corinthians 9:6&7 that reads; “6- But remember this: the one sowing sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one sowing generously will also reap generously. 7- Each one as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or out of necessity, for YAHWEH loves a cheerful giver. (Prov. 22:8)”
May the Lord Bless you and keep you; Shalom

Charles Spurgeon's "Morning & Evening" Devotional: October 7th
Morning
“This do in remembrance of Me.”
Matthew 26:26-30
The same night in which he was betrayed our divine Lord instituted the sacred Supper, which is to his people the perpetual memorial of his death, and is to be celebrated till he shall come again.
Matthew 26:26
And as they were eating that is to say, while yet the Paschal feast was proceeding; so that the one feast might melt into the other
Matthew 26:26
He could not have meant that the bread was actually his body, for in his body he was sitting at the table, and he could not have two bodies. Nobody could misunderstand these words of Jesus unless they wished to do so, or were too devoid of reason to comprehend anything. Jesus meant evidently the bread represented his body, and should be to them in future the sign that he was really incarnate.
Matthew 26:27
As if he foresaw that the Papists would take away the cup from the people, he expressly bade them all drink of it. The plainest language of command is no bond to those who are given over to the delusions of Rome.
Matthew 26:28
The cup was the instructive token of his blood, for it was filled with the blood of the grape. Jesus is meat and drink to his people; their necessary food, their dainty luxury; their staff of life, their exhilaration and joy. How sweet to reflect that the memorial of our dying Lord is not a funeral wailing, but a festival of rest; not a superstitious rite, but a simple, joyful commemoration. It is a pity that by kneeling some of our brethren have missed the instruction which an easy reclining or sitting posture would have given them, in Jesus, believers have entered into rest.
Matthew 26:29
Symbols were not for him, though useful to us: we shall ere long with him enjoy the reality which the emblem could but feebly typify.
Matthew 26:30
Brave was the heart which could sing with death before him: surely that hymn was a battle psalm defying death and hell. In like manner let us sing in all times of trial and temptation, and so glorify our God.
1 Corinthians 11:23-29
The apostle Paul gives us a full account of this Supper, which he received by express revelation. He thus writes: 1 Corinthians 11:23-29.
1 Corinthians 11:29
For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily without faith, reverence, and sincerity of soul
1 Corinthians 11:29
eateth and drinketh damnation or condemnation
1 Corinthians 11:29
He insults the ordinance by staying in the emblem and seeing no further; his heart is not occupied with the death of Jesus, he does not use the Supper as the Lord intended. Let us pay great attention to this, and mind how we behave at the Lord’s table.
According to thy gracious word,
In meek humility,
This will I do, my dying Lord,
I will remember thee.
Thy body, broken for my sake,
My bread from heaven shall be;
Thy testamental cup I take,
And thus remember thee.
Evening
“Let not your heart be troubled.”
John 14:1-14
After the supper was over our Lord addressed his disciples in language full of loving concern for them. He knew that his absence would greatly distress them, and therefore he poured forth a stream of consolations. How many thousands of tried believers have been comforted by these gracious words? All Scripture is as a garden of sweet flowers, but this passage may be compared to the rose, for its marvellous beauty and sweetness.
John 14:1
Though I die do not doubt me, rest in your Saviour as you do in your God.
John 14:2
His absence would not grieve them if they remembered the errand on which he was gone. We may well spare the bodily presence of Jesus from this world now that we know he has gone to prepare our eternal resting place.
John 14:5
Probably his notion was that our Lord would go to Nazareth or Galilee or some remote place to be anointed king, and prepare places for his followers, and therefore in his cool, thoughtful, practical way he sought for information. He did not know that the Lord referred to his return to glory.
John 14:6-8
Here another good disciple betrayed his ignorance, he had not yet grasped the idea of the essential union of the Father and the Son.
John 14:9
Till the Spirit of God illuminates the mind we learn little even from the best of teachers. God was in Christ most evidently, and yet Philip did not perceive it.
John 14:10 , John 14:11
What meaning can there be in these words if Jesus be not Divine, and one with the Father? No clearer statement of his Godhead could be given.
John 14:12
As God, the Lord Jesus not only had infinite power in himself but he was able to delegate it to others. His apostles wrought great miracles, and his believing disciples worked mighty spiritual works, so that more converts were brought to the faith by their testimony, than were called by the personal ministry of the Lord himself; and this, because through the Lord’s ascension into glory the Spirit of God was more fully given.
John 14:13 , John 14:14
“Good prayers,” says Bishop Hall, “never come weeping home. I am sure that I shall receive either what I ask or what I should ask.” If the best of blessings are to be had for the asking, he who will not ask deserves to go without.
Can we mourn as broken-hearted,
We who hang upon thy love,
Jesus for our sake departed
To thy Father’s house above?
Source of all our consolations,
There we our Forerunner see:
In those lasting habitations
Thou hast found a place for me.
All our hopes and souls we venture
On thy never-failing word,
Sure into thy joy to enter,
Sure to triumph with our Lord.
