The Ferryman. Code name "Ares"

She was sent to the level of Anger for her sin. Anger was the death of everyone there. For her, it's her way of surviving. Only her anger helped her make her way through the boiling storm and the current of eternally fighting sinners into the Styx. She believes that she is worthy of redemption and her anger is not a sin, but her main strength.

In appearance, she is rather a Stray that has not completely stripped off her flesh, with iron elements nailed tightly in her flesh - like handcuffs and a hoop, which in her case are hollowed crosses.

Having learned that being a ferryman is not just a job - it's a fight for her place, for survival, she will not miss a single chance for her redemption and is ready to fight everyone who gets in her way.

You know, I don't think enough people talk about the Ferrymen killing each other. They're all fighting for what few ships and supplies to maintain them remain. I see most people think that they hate each other for it since. Y'know. They're religious extremists to the point they tore away their skin out of self hatred and are also in the Wrath layer. But I'm not sure if that's entirely true. Point I'm trying to make, why does the Ferryman keep the skeleton of a previous Ferryman in his ship? And why does he have paintings of him? They're likely not of the current Ferryman, since the one in the paintings has a rocket launcher, which is kept with the old one. In fact, the old one is laid out in front of one of these paintings. Alone with a light shining on it. I think it's a makeshift tomb, since there's not really any other place in Hell you can bury a body without it being desecrated. I wonder if the Ferrymen feel sorrow for those they kill to take their positions. How do they cope with using the skulls of their brethren as keys? The only ones who could ever hope to understand you are forced to fight you for the right to continue their purposes. Why is it only one Ferryman per ferry anyway? Does Heaven instate this rule to keep their number limited, so they could never communicate and realize how horrible Heaven has become? So they could never realize they deserve better? To keep them weak to prevent another rebellion like Sisyphus'?

it could be just regular ol' rock but now part of me sees the engravings on it and wants it to be the same kind of rock idols/demons are made out of

I really like the terrible beauty of this act of selflessness and devotion to Heaven among the Ferrymen. I have long wanted to draw how he rips off his flesh. I love the Ferryman's lore for those dark moments.

And tbh, I'am shocked at how cool this piece turned out to be, I just found a cool thing in the project and everything just happened, based on a cool reference from Pinterest!!
