honestly, I’m curious on how fairies can have babies with humans? like is it just one of Fern’s fantasies to have babies with his human but he can’t do it or is it possible?

It’s possible, but not when he’s at his fairy size. His sperm just can’t reach your eggs when he’s that little, and even if it did, the tiny sperm wouldn’t be able to fertilize your egg :(

However, he can get you pregnant when he’s full size. That’s why he’s so eager to fuck the second he’s big enough to, he’s desperate to get you pregnant and carry on the fairy bloodline.

He’s the last one after all…

Definitely! I need to do part three of his story, and I’ve had thoughts on writing a more thought out story for him that includes his backstory and how he ended up with reader… I’m afraid my longer stories don’t do too well here tho, so I’m a little worried!

Now that I've slept I wanted to gush about the Ranchers fairy story some more and it'll probably be a bit long for in the comments there. I love the way you build up the story and the reveals! How we go from our small little world of just Jimmy and Tango, with hints of Scott (the housemate) and Norman (the cat-alyst of it all hehe). Then we expand that to the court and learn that fairies stay away from humans and Tango is like I'm not like the other girls, only for us (and him) to find out that Lizzie, Bdubs AND Fern all have their human! Cinema XD

The Lizzie reveal was so so good! The way we learn about Joel first is casual, just part of a phone call, okay so he's a human. Then the court talks about Lizzie and how she has disappeared. Well it takes no genius to know what happened to her and idk I just really loved that moment, the realisation on the reader's side and later with the park scene on Tango's side as well! Do Aurora and Etho know about each other's fairy 'friends'?

I really loved the frisbee scene as well, just friends having fun in the park!

And when Tango's heart broke and he just let himself feel the emotions augh my heart!! Feeling the magic of "a promise broken" the shock and fear for what's going to happen to Jimmy and seeing his family, his court fly over there in some sort of trance is so eerie! Poor guy!

Making Jimmy get rid of all the evidence he was ever there at all was so sad but then my brain was like what if Jimmy convinced Scott to take up dance classes with him that so happened to be the tango hmm?? What then hehehe :3c

I feel like there was more I wanted to say specifically rather than just love for all the scenes but I forgot as I was writing this ;-;

Everyone having their own colour of fairy dust is very cute btw!

All in all I really love your writing as always!! (I am incredibly behind with every other work my email notifs are spilling over but one day I will get to them all :'D )

I'm gonna answer the question first because it does pertain to my favorite part of this whole universe:

No. Neither Etho nor Aurora have any clue about the other's fairy. Aurora has met Bdubs in his human disguise (because? of course she has? she lives there and that's her housemate's partner of course she's met him. she wears headphones and blasts music when Bdubs stays the night just to be safe) but she has no idea he's a fairy let alone from the same court as her fairy friend XD

So while the main story and the main house has Tango going through heartbreak and tragedy and Jimmy starting a romance with his housemate and losing his new friend as a consequence of said new romance, next door there is a freaking sitcom of comedy-of-errors/Scooby Doo-style shenanigans of Aurora and Etho hiding their fairies from each other and no one else knows or notices because they're hiding all of it happening XD The four characters next-door are having a time—and I don't think Fern and Bdubs even know that the other is constantly going to the same house they are to hang out with their human XD Because, again: sitcom

Anyway on to address the rest:

The build up on reveals and exposition was pretty organic to how I figured out what story I was telling and how I wanted to tell it. I sent Inferna a list in DMs of "these characters are fairies, those characters are human" and on that list, Lizzie was in the fairy category and I actually had "(former human?)" next to her name. Obviously I ultimately did the exact opposite and showed her giving up her life as a fairy to become human but those reveals with Scott and Norman and Fern and Bdubs and Lizzie were all written as I was building up the world around "Jimmy is a human and Tango is a fairy and here's a story for that." I'm glad you liked the Cinema! :-D <3

Yeah to expound on Lizzie, I was hoping those were clues that would be put together before the proper reveal that Lizzie had become human permanently to marry Joel, but I didn't want it to be too obvious because I did still want that little hint of "or did she actually go missing somewhere along the path of pursuing Joel?"

The frisbee scene was a lot of fun. Big fan of Shenanigans, me XD

The trance thing was kinda Inferna's idea. She just said, when I told her about the broken promise, that she imagined Fern drone, "someone broke their promise" and I went yoink and added it in. like when a promise breaks, the Fae of the court attached to the fairy that the promise was made to are obligated by their magic and Fae Rules to go to the human and enforce the laying of the geas

I mean... Jimmy and Scott could go learn the tango but idk if that would do anything XD Scott has no idea any of the fairy stuff even happened

Oh the colored fairy dust! Yeah! Originally with Tango's it was red because it was an obvious joke about redstone dust. But then I was like 'but I don't want all the fairies to shed red dust... it doesn't fit all of them' and thus everyone having their own was born!

Tango: Red

Skizz: blue

Impulse: Gold

Zed: Pink and gold (because pink and yellow wings)

Gem: pastel green

Fern: turquoise

Bdubs: forest green

Scar: cyannish-silver

Cub: silver

Scar and Cub are obviously Allay/Vex-ish based (mostly Vex) so therefore they're pretty similar to each other and I imagine they're blood related in a way that most of the court isn't. (Whether Skizz and Tango are actually brothers by blood I left up to interpretation on purpose)

tails did die before meeting sonic and he tethered himself to sonic when they finally did meet, mostly because sonic had been the first person to be able to see tails after he died

the tether isn't anything major really. it's a small string of chaos energy that's tied around their essences. it's fragile, easy to snap if either of them choose to by simply being far enough away. it's mostly there for comfort and because tails likes to fidget with the thin string. they don't need a physical tether to keep them together, but they like it

they both got attached to each other the moment they met

i feel like i'd need to read more book of magic stuff to write it confidently but there's somethinggg there with tim's clear desire to transition (or i guess stay transitioned would be a better way of putting it) being related to rose having been the one to guide him through faerie. like ohhh there's something There with that!! there's something!! there's something with this!!
