John "Jack" Ferdinand Kurt Proudstar

Gender: Male + masculine presenting

General appearance: As a baby, Jack closely resembles one of the demon-bamfs; a tiny, Nightcrawler-esque critter with a dense pelt of dark blue fur, tridactyl fingers, digitigrade two-toed feet, pointed ears and a long tail tipped with a narrow spade. However, his eyes are typically human -- white sclera, bright blue irises -- and his hair is a rich, dark auburn. As he grows up his bone structure is closer to his father's; tall, with broad shoulders and a squared jaw.

Personality: Jack is an easygoing kid; he's very chill, doesn't like to make waves or cause trouble any more than normal childish antics. He's thoughtful and a good listener, especially if someone is telling him a story. When he's older, he takes his role as a Protector very seriously; if someone is younger or smaller than him (and most people are the latter) he is very much a guardian, gentle and kind but a fearsome defender.

Mutation: Jack has inherited a form of his father's induced mutation, in which he can cover his body with plates of organic, nonferrous titanium, which give him an almost cybernetic appearance. When he is plated, his eyes glow an unnatural bluish-white, and his tail is tipped with a sharp blade. He also inherited Thunderbird's enhanced strength, stamina, durability, and speed. When plated, Jack can breathe underwater and is immune to the vacuum of space.

Personal headcanon: Like his mother, Jack can communicate with the bamfs, but both the blue and red ones. They taught him to swear.

Eternal RP Search Not Looking Anymore

As the title indicates, I'm pretty much always on the lookout for some new RP partners! Please keep reading if you might be interested! c;

Basic Info:

I'm (old af) 33 now, so I'm only looking to write with partners 18+. This is non-negotiable.

I default to third person past tense; I'm happy to switch to present tense if that's your preference, but I won't write in first or second person for RP purposes. In the same vein, I can't write with a partner who uses first or second person. Sorry guys!

Expect there to be some NSFW content; I don't fade to black. That said, I'm happy with smut-focused threads or plot-focused ones with NSFW as more of a side feature. Please let me know your limits so I don't step on any toes! Also expect at least some mention/discussion of kinks.

I'll write over email, in gdocs, or on discord. Please do not ask me to join your server/group RP or to RP here on tumblr.

My post length tends to fluctuate from 4+ paragraphs to novella, though I'll never give you fewer than 4 paragraphs. I cannot tolerate one-liners or super short paragraphs; I absolutely want someone who can give me at least 4 paragraphs per character.

My posting frequency can, admittedly, be a little sporadic, though I won't make you wait more than a few days for a reply. Ideally, I'd like a partner who can offer something similar -- 3-5 posts per week. I don't generally do rapid-fire, and if posts get slower than once per week I start to lose motivation.

I tend to prefer m// and m/f pairs, though in certain circumstances I'd be happy to double with f//. I'm also happy to include trans, nb, and characters that otherwise fall outside of the binary.

I will not exclusively write tops for your bottoms, men for your women, or canon characters for your original characters. I am, however, happy to double/triple/write casts/write poly so we can each write what we like.

What I'm looking for here is a little hard to explain, so please bear with me! While I'm not averse to simple doubling, I'd really enjoy a poly or polycule situation with the male love interests (Adam, Nate, Mason, & Felix).

In the case of a polycule, however, I wouldn't want to focus on the romantic/sexual side of things between the boys, though I like the idea of the intimacy and closeness it potentially lends itself to the RP. In such an instance I would absolutely love to write an MC or OC, but I'll happily discuss it and compromise so we're both content!

I know it hasn't been released yet -- and won't be for quite some time -- but I love the idea of playing in the world. I absolutely want to include all the LIs, and like above would be happy to indulge in poly, simple doubling, or a polycule (to be completely honest, I'm most interested in the polycule here).

I'd even be happy to focus only on the canon characters and not include OCs at all, but I'm glad to include them too. I just really want the opportunity to explore the boys and the world better.

Last Movie: dear lord. Everything Everywhere? Months ago? I rarely have patience with movies anymore. Mainly because partner is fine breaking them up into multiple sessions and I'm all or nothing. Which is a time and emotional investment I'm not super into most of the time.

my thoughts on anderson and his vows

Chastity. The vow to abstain from sexual intercourse. Anderson voluntarily took on a vow of celibacy as well, meaning that to his interpretation, he was not to marry and had to abstain from all sexual intercourse. Anderson does his best to abstain from masturbation and consumption of pornography, but has had a few lapses... cut him a break, it’s hard abstaining from everything when you have an otherwise healthy sexuality. This is a broken vow as he gave his chastity, and virginity, to Alucard.

Poverty. The vow to own very little and encourages sharing within a community. Anderson follows this vow well. Anderson does not make money off of his duties as a priest, but he is paid handsomely by Iscariot. Most of what he makes goes into Ferdinand Luke’s or the children for any purpose it’s needed for. He’s liberal when it comes to giving others his money as even with the donations to the orphanage, he has surplus. Anderson does not own a own house and lives communally in the orphanage which further reinforces adherence to the vow. He’s less frugal than other zealous priests, but still does not own as much as he could when it comes to possessions.

Obedience. The vow of obedience to religious superior(s). Adherence to this vow is complicated. He’s played with and toed the line. Devout believers may consider it broken years before. Anderson himself considers it officially broken when he murders Maxwell despite finding it justified, as Maxwell is the religious superior he would’ve been vowed to, and he still chose personal faith over the word of Maxwell. Plus, uh... circumstances and how justified it was aside, it was still an extreme act and was the murder, not just defiance, of a religious superior. After all, Maxwell was still Anderson’s child, and Anderson believes that he at least deserves the guilt of a broken vow to coincide with the horror of killing one of his kids.

Absolutely.

Whether or not the books will be comforting is a Question because a lot of what I read is kind of dark. Most of them ended up being SFF because it's usually more fun than literary fiction etc.

Books:

The Cybernetic Tea Shop by Meredith Katz. It's so fucking soft. It's about an android who owns a tea shop and an engineer and they're lesbians and I don't want to spoil it but basically? It feels like a cozy blanket and a mug of hot chocolate.

The Leviathan Trilogy by Scott Westerfeld. Honestly in general middle grade is a good idea because it's so cozy and less stressful (though often dark, kids are weird). This may sound more more dramatic and stressful than it is. Leviathan is set in WWI but it's a fight between Darwinists (people who splice up DNA to make things like living ships and hydrogen-sniffing dogs with two noses) and the clankers (people who think that's weird and prefer machines) and there's this kid called Deryn/Dylan who works on an airship and another kid called Alek who is kind of a prince, it's tied to the whole archduke Ferdinand assassination thing. I promise it's very fun and good, here's a sample of the illustrations

Barbary Station by RE Stearns. It's one of my favourite books, I describe it as comfy and extremely worrying because a lot of shit happens but it feels very... Nailed down? Like there are certain things you know won't be fucked up?

A Place Called Perfect by Helen Duggan. Another middle grade. A kid moves to a seemingly perfect town but things are not what they appear.

John Dies at the End by David Wong. Only if you're into cosmic horror and other weirdness. The sequels get better and better, but This Book Is Full Of Spiders: Seriously Dude, Don't Touch It is a bit pandemicy (mind controlling spiders take over). The first one is about. Uh. A drug but it's not actually?

The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. Almost nothing happens but in a good way. It's just interesting aliens and found family and very minor stress in the middle.

Most Neil Gaiman books besides American Gods, really.

Shows:

A Series of Unfortunate Events. I've watched it so many times my dude. I rarely rewatch things, I get bored, but it's Delightful, it just has such a specific feeling and humour to it.

Bones. Yes, it's murdery, but like. In a cosy way.

Warehouse 13. Cannot explain how much I love it. A team of people whomst I adore have to go around collecting artefacts that are Wreaking Havoc.

Star Trek TOS even though William Shatner is a cuntbag who harasses teenagers and also me on the internet. At one point there's this alien that. I'll just show you.

Good Omens. I'm sure you've either seen it or seen people shouting about it for about a year straight on Tumblr.

The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell. Just a fun baking programme with Addams Family vibes.

Films. I do not watch many films but:

Repo! The Genetic Opera. It's so much fun you guys I cannot explain how fun it is it's one of my favourite films ever

I tend to hyperfixate on certain songs/artists at times, and Poets is one of the ones I've hyperfixated on a lot. They're also one of my go-tos for songs for mixes for characters (OCs mostly) because of how well I know them and the immaculate vibes of their songs. So sometimes I just listen to the albums on endless repeat.

Do you know War? I love War, which is also a Blackhands song ty ("when i thought that i fought this war alone / you were there by my side on the front lines") but honestly it could also be a Blackbonnet song ("when i thought that i fought without a cause / you gave me a reason to try") so I have decided War? War is a Steddyhands song.

(War is also a song from a video game! Poets did the music for the in-world band of Old Gods of Asgard in the game Alan Wake, which is the only reason I played that game but actually it's a really good game and highly recommended though the PC controls are abysmal.)

I do the same re: music videos because of Spotify! I don't remember why I watched Moonlight Kissed, though I do know I watched a bunch of their videos because I was showing my mom and introducing her to their music (she isn't much of a music person, but a few bands and artists stick out to her if I introduce her to them and she loves Poets (and Franz Ferdinand, and Placebo who I got into around the same time as Poets)).

I haven't seen the music video for Daze I don't think, and right now I'm on 500kb/s tethered mobile internet and if I try really hard I can watch John Oliver in 360p in 2 minute stuttering chunks, so I'll put the video for Daze on my list for when the internet gets fixed so I can properly appreciate it 😂

Poets of the Fall is my favorite band! I wanted to go see them live in 2019 with my dad but I wasn't well enough. Hoping to do that for real in a few years now I'm a functional being and once the pandemic is less terrifying.

The first time I heard Poets was Carnival of Rust (it was on a gorgeous Supernatural fanvideo, likely back in 2009?????) and I love that song so much and you are absolutely correct it's also a Blackhands song.

On top of that, I know Poets so far inside and out that I read this ask on my phone in bed and was singing all the songs you mentioned as I read it lmao. Skin is one of my top favorites, too. I love that song so much.

21. Why do they get up in the morning?

🦁: After reconciling with his family and reuniting with the love of his life, he's just genuinely happy to be alive :]

🦗: He spent a long time in a sort of stasis, and although conscious, he wouldn't consider that time as "living". Now that he's back, he wants to treasure his time and finds joy in doing the little, basic things that he couldn't before.

🐏: Better than lying around all day. She likes to be busy! She's also got a sometimes intensive lab job to get to, and she's the primary breadwinner for the household (sharing an apartment with Zeph)

🐦: Gotta get work done. Even if she doesn't want to. Also generally doing better... getting him up isn't as hard as it used to be.

🦙: Xe gets stir-crazy so easily sdfkhjsd. They like going to school, generally, now that it's Normal and not Bad. He likes helping her dads around the house and going out to meet with xer brother(s) and friends :]

26. What is their preferred mode of transportation?

🦁: He has a license but prefers to bike or walk most places.

🦗: Also has a license and a car but likes taking public transportation, when available!

🐏: She has a scooter for shorter trips and a motorcycle for longer ones :]

🐦: Don't put her behind the wheel of a vehicle he'll start crying. Usually bums a ride from her sister or his friend Clara :]

🦙: Has a cute little moped that he rides everywhere! She also carries a foldable cane for if they have to walk for any prolonged time.

30. Who do they most regret meeting?

🦁: His great aunt... the woman who took him away to Saluria.

🐏: She's had a few bad exes here and there, but she doesn't think about them much (or, at least, she tries not to)

🦙: The director of his old school. Xe was nothing more than an asset to him; raw metal ready to be shaped into a piercing blade.

🦁: He doesn't have any specific story but sometimes he'll talk about the most insane shit that happened during the war and then not elaborate sdjkgfs.

🐏: "___-er? I hardly know 'er!" She thinks this is the funniest thing in the world.

39. How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people?

🦁: He doesn't ignore it per say, but doesn't speak up unless it's causing undue problems for multiple other people, not just himself.

🐏: She has a hard time ignoring people's flaws, big or small, which has caused conflict in the past. She can be blunt about pointing them out, but she doesn't mean to be cruel about it; in her mind, if the problem is spoken, it is easier to address.

🐦: She won't say it to your face but he WILL complain to Thana and her friends later. Non-confrontational, sometimes to a fault.

40. How sensitive are they to their own flaws?

🐦: erm.

🦙: Xe's normal actually.

41. How do they feel about children?

🦁: Never thought he'd be a dad (especially at his age), but considers himself incredibly blessed to be able to help raise Alan :]

🦗: Also never thought he would have kids, but always wanted to! Loves his kid and loved his time as a teacher.

🐏: Likes kids and loves her nephew but doesn't see herself ever having kids of her own.

🐦: Somewhat adverse to children, but more because she's just incredibly awkward and doesn't know how to interact.

🦙: <- is a child (but is generally kind towards younger kids)

42. How badly do they want to reach their end goal?

🦁: He went though hell to survive, to make it back home alive and to see his family one last time... Things have very drastically changed since then, but he'd do anything to keep his loved ones happy and safe.

🦗: <- Guy who spent over a decade building himself a new body because he refused to die.

🐏: She'd love to have a wife and a house and be retired but honestly she's just waiting to see where life takes her.

🐦: She's not in too much of a rush. He's learning to enjoy the process, especially as she's gotten older (and started transitioning).

🦙: Xe's not sure if he has an end goal other than "be happy" and "don't die until you're old).

43. If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so?

🦁: Gay man (man in a loose sense, only a man insofar as he is attracted to men in a gay way).
