Andami kong kilalang lesbian puro butch. Hindi ako nakikipag-kaibigan sakanila kasi they’re kinda intimidating for a lil’ femme les like me. Kaya napabarkada ako sa mga bi at pan. ISA lang kaibigan kong lesbi dito ko pa sa tumblr nakilala, butch din sya pero ok naman kami (hi kuya). It’s Pride Day LA! 💖💜💙 And I’m keeping cool at home and playing video games. I love Pride Month because it gives me more opportunity to talk about me. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’d have insecurities about myself within the LGBT community. Bivisibility and validation are constant struggles. Sometimes I don’t feel like I belong in L or B circles because I look and carry myself “lady like.” That’s not a bad thing, it’s just how I’m wired...or that I’m straight passing - there’s no one way to look or act - you just are who you are. Even when I try to be open within these circles, it’s very exclusionary and it’s not a validating sense of feeling. This also goes for pinup shoots where girl / girl posing happens. Even as a bi, I don’t feel attractive enough to pair up...even for something as a vanilla as sharing a vanilla shake at a diner shoot. So I do have my insecurities about being open and it’s always nice having genuine compliments from women, even as simple as “amazing work” or “cute hat!”...because it balances out the toxic masculinity and catcalling I had to endure my entire life.
