He got dragged into a wedding dress butique at the girls' night out.

As much as i like putting robots in dresses, i hc that Omega honestly kinda dislikes/doesn't care for women's/fem apparel. In his eyes they emphasize all the wrong things (looking soft/dainty/sweet). Not to mention how impractical e.g. dresses are.

It took a lot of convincing get him to try the stuff on:

Rouge (currently rocking a party dress herself): “Do i give off [any of the words on Omega's list] vibes? How about Blaze (in a light summer dress) over here?"

Omega (who hasn't & doesn't associate either of them with "softness" etc.,): "mmmmmmmmmmm" (If he answers truthfully he's gonna get roped into "Say Yes to The Dress")

And Omega finds out that he doesn't mind some of the dresses. That a select few actually... look quite good on him:

They either clash nicely (depicted dress) in a way that accentuates his form by putting something soft & light against his angular & heavyset build, or bring up other positive aspects - things Omega only now learned to look for/analyse in fashion - e.g. boldness/grandness/fierceness. He doesn't mind that at all.

Doctors can grant or deny you access to safe transgender healthcare. They often do this based on their own prejudices, among which may be the belief that butches are malfunctioning women. So when I see a doctor, I leave the necktie at home and say, "I'm... tomboyish."

I have said this with a shaved head and singed cargo pants, so the trick may have been transparent. I'm fortunate to have lived in Vancouver since 2006, where practitioners of trans medicine were more interested in helping patients live honestly that exist conventionally. I thought of transition before then, but most other places and times would shun anyone who aimed to transtion into a queer identity. Sometimes I hear dykes rail against transgender pediatrics. They fear it will force ("our") young butches into mannish roles and bodies. I very much agree with the objections to forcibly virilizing girls, but it's not FtMs we should worry about. They aren't forced to transition, they want to. And most of them aren't girls. Where trans medicine does force manhood onto girls is when it stalls or rejects young MtFs, leaving them to go through the wrong puberty, while being bullied into the wrong gender-identity.

i hope ruby gets a well-that’s-alright-then-style notdeath. on the one hand it will make haters mad because oh no not another companion with an impermanent end (and i like to see haters mad) on the other it would require creativity to depict this in a new way + i love all the implications i love the dark fairytale quality of these companion exits i love my un-undead schrodinger’s women

with the way the legend of ruby sunday is titled… legends aren’t usually told about living people. legends are stories of the bygone past, of an age long since over, fictionalised and overgrown with folklore like barnacles sticking to an abandoned shell. there is such a thing as a living legend, but they’re exceedingly rare. the unmistakeable raven’s call in the 73 yards teaser, the trailer’s cut to fifteen crying alone after promising to cherry he’d protect her daughter… the foreshadowing is clear as day…

and yet. there’s one massive HOWEVER. ruby appears in s15: millie’s been spotted on set filming it. which leads me to believe — the doctor isn’t one to take the time travel route and revisit companions that in his future are genuinely dead. that would hurt too much, it would cause unnecessary trauma and could break the timeline. that must mean ruby stays alive in some way. ish. she’s alive and a legend and a mystery. girl-ballad girl-song girl-paradox
