2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

That he exists. He's wonderful.

That aside, I've always loved his fascination with nature. I remember being 13 and suddenly seeing the world with new eyes because of him, appreciating things I've never spared a second glance before, because I realized Prowl would find them beautiful. And he's so right. The world is so beautiful. I was fundamentally changed back then and now I am the person I am because of him.

And that said - I also love that he's not always written as the "stoic and super-skilled cool ninja". He's goofy. He's clumsy. Not a lot, but just enough for him to feel like he's just some guy trying his best, still learning, you can tell sometimes that he has never actually finished his training. I love the way he progresses throughout the series, starting out as a loner who just recently wound up with the rest of the team by chance and isn't really one of them, to a member of the family who loves those guys and would do anything for them.

He's great. He's amazing. I need to stop myself before this turns into a full essay. Ily Prowl

I don't have anything specific in mind, my brain cell is too transformers focused to even acknowledge the existence of any other media lmao. Also all the non-tf media I consume is so dark, I wouldn't do that to him, he doesn't deserve it. I'd like to put him inside a nature documentary so he could experience it first hand though. I think he'd enjoy that.

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

I love that so many people draw him with animals, especially birds. And cats. That's awesome. Good for him but also good for me because Bird reference!

All the shipping lmao I'm sorry. Especially with a certain little guy. I filtered the tag and half the Prowl tag just vanished gdi I just want to see my man 😭

Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to police what anyone can or can't ship, and I'm fully aware that being non-sharing is a me problem, but that doesn't make it any less bothersome. I just want to look at Prowl. There's by far not enough content out there of him, and believe you me, I've looked 😔

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to this character? Something you don't like?

I don't really read a lot of fic with him in it, mainly because I haven't found a lot of Prowl fics that focus on him. Aside from a whole lot of fics where he's shipped with other characters, but that's not for me. I'm an x reader truther but good food is rare. On one hand it's probably good he's not more popular since I don't like to share him, but on the other hand where is my content. I am starving.

1. You are not fucking anything up luv, it's not coming of fetishy or objectifingly. Ur doing allright

2. When it comes to portraying falling for someone, there is no inherent difference between falling in it as a men or a woman. But I am just a guy and never been a woman so idk. Everyone is diffrent too, and I think you write them all very emotionally charged. Full of nuance and depth qnd all those feelings that just might burst.

(I might be a few chapters behind but I really like the emotionally repressed and self destructive Remus as in it makes sense. It makes a lot of sense for a guy I think. Irl he would most probably be the typa fella that starts going to the gym or gets into 1200cc piss missile motorcycles. Maybe even drink a bit too much, but "strong" enough to get over himself and use that toxic masculinity to go back to "normal")

However, after thinking about it and like whilst keeping in mind what I said earlier - I do have a gf. Looking at me and my Sunshine, whilst strongly generalizing - I think it took me longer to fall for her. Like acually fall for her, not just like her and think she is one of the most beautiful woman on earth. But now as a guy, idk I just think about her a lot, I'm more on the logical side then her. Also way more reserved idk uhh I have some sa experience so it might be just me but after chatting a bit with some people yeah guys usually more reserved waiting for the sign or something. 3. When it comes to specific scenes uhhh pooki what can I tell you xD they have great chemistry, with Rem hoping back and fourth. It makes sense that a lot of them are sexually charged since they cannot connect romantically (at least as far as I've read). If you have more specific ones that would be easier to say xD

Thank god I'm not coming off as objectifying, I swear I was terrified, I feel like there is a very thin line, especially for BL and I wanted to portray it right and do it justice, especially since I know a lot of fanfiction can be complicated, and I have read plenty of people (specifically queer men) complaining about the way their relationships are typecasted and portrayed in said media.

I definitely focus heavily on their feelings, but that's kind of the reason I decided to write GC in the first place, I wanted to explore the complications of a throuple hehe.

It makes so much sense that guys would be more reserved I think, but I think especially in queer situations, both for men and women would be, since you might not be sure if the other person is actually queer too, idk if that makes sense?

Regarding specific scenes, I remember I was super nervous when I wrote the library scene with Sirius and Remus in Chapter 26, since it was Sirius' first time to feel something for Rem, and panic over it, I was so scared it wasn't doing it right. And also in chapter 31, when Sirius sees Minho and Tom kiss and has another gay panic revelation moment. I mean, I'm not sure when I figured I was pansexual but I think if I had seen two girls kiss in a closet and I didn't know about it, it would have definitely done something to me if that makes sense.

Landing on Earth

Coming off of the ship, Monarch spotted five Autobots and a small organic creature. They tilted their helm, focusing their attention on the organic peeking out from behind the red and blue bot’s leg. They had always been told that organics were dangerous, even encountered a few that were less than pleasant, but those Autobots seemed to be friendly and almost protective of it. They wondered if these organisms were peaceful little creatures. Sentinel was in front of course, chatting condescendingly with the red and blue bot. They seemed to know each other, but Sentinel had a tendency to make sure every bot that interacted with him knew who he was, so who knew. 

“Sentinel? What are you doing here?” The red and blue bot asked, sounding agitated.

“We’re here to assist in the capture of the Deceptions that have been spotted in this sector, Optimus.” He spat as if it was a stupid question to ask, “You should be grateful I was the one who came before you got scrapped.”

The red and blue bot, apparently Optimus, hissed in response, clearly trying his best to sound professional, “We didn’t ask for backup, we’re handling things on this planet perfectly fine here by ourselves.”

Sentinel bickered, “If you were doing fine, you would have already caught the Decepticons!”

They had been fighting the Decepticons for millions of years, with little success. How did Sentinel expect these five little bots, or even his team to round them all up? They remained silent, deciding it wasn’t worth it to provoke him. 

Optimus seemed to think the same as them, “Don’t be ridiculous, Sentinel. You expect you can do any better?” He hissed.

“Yes, yes I do.” He hissed back.

They remained silently glaring at each other for a tense minute before Jazz interjected, “Cool ya radiators fellas! We’ve got a mission to do together, so let's start actin’ like a team!” 

Sentinel pouted, walking up to Optimus, “Whatever. Pleasure working with you.” He said, reluctantly offering a servo to the other bot.

Thank Primus for Jazz. He was always stopping Sentinel from getting into trouble or starting fights. Their team would have been waist deep in sludge if it wasn’t for him.

After that tense interaction, the teams were left to mingle. Monarch was very excited to meet their new teammates. The same was true of the Jet twins. They may have been barely matured sparklings in the grand scheme of things, but they were some of the only bots that they could relate and talk to. 

Monarch stood much taller than most Autobots, standing at around 8 meters. Their frame was similar to a seeker’s but slightly longer and thinner. Wheels on their ankles and wings on their back alluded to their alt modes, a motorcycle and a jet. Their color scheme was reminiscent of a monarch butterfly with the orange and black symmetrical patterning on their wings as well as their body. They wore a visor to assist their light sensitive optics and sound dampeners for their sensitive audials. As beneficial as night vision and super hearing were, it made it nearly impossible to see in the day, and with Sentinel’s constant screaming, it was easier to dampen the noise than to have to fix them after every time they were dressed down for mistakes. 

They walked up to the group of Autobots and waved happily to them, “Greetings, comrades! I am Monarch! I am looking forward to working with you!” They said elegantly bowing.

“M-monarch?” The green bot’s face lit up with joy as he hugged them, “Hey, little- well ‘not so little anymore’ buddy!” 

They looked very confused, hugging him back, “Um, hello? What’s your designation? D-did-” They were cut of

“What??? It’s Bulkhead from-” Bulkhead started. 

Sentinel pushed forward to interrupt. He spoke in his normal, know-it-all tone and smacked Monarch’s back. “They don’t remember anything before the triple changer surgery. It messed up their memory core. Too bad, I had to retrain them for a bit, but it came back after about a dozen cycles. An unfortunate side effect, but what can you do?” He chuckled.

Monarch was silent, looking straight ahead and at no one. It was always embarrassing when Sentinel paraded the fact that they barely remembered anything. Bots would laugh, taunt, or disregard them, a few got pretty mad. After all, what was the use of a bot with a fried memory core? At least they could still be useful as a fighter and learn new things. They smiled, to hide the pit in their tanks, “I deeply apologize that I do not remember you. You seemed quite enthusiastic to see me again! Were we friends? How did I know you?”

Today has been a really tough day for me

There were many things happening at school

I was alone; weeping buckets of tears upstairs

Nobody was there to tell me it's gonna be okay

Nobody was there to patiently listening to me

Nobody was there to say "you've got this zah"

Nobody was there to uplift and cheer me on

I kept crying and crying for what felt like eternity

I ended up thinking about jumping off building

But somehow I remembered Palestinian people

I remembered their cute faces and their voices

I remembered how unstained their hearts are

I remembered how unbreakable their faith is

I knew my pain was nothing compared to theirs

I then remembered my purposes and my dreams

That I must stay alive if I really want to help them

I can not give up if I wanna be part of their cause

I can never quit if I wanna help liberate Palestine

I know your hearts feels so heavy right now,

But I am here, I have always been here for you,

Today, a lot of bad things have happened. She is one year older than me and is my fella teacher in this school, but she did something to me that hurt me so much I couldn't stand it. So I selfishly left my responsibilities, ran upstairs as quickly as I could, and then I cried in another teacher's classroom. Nobody was there so I could ugly cry and let myself drown in the ocean of sadness for hours. I am sure as hell I looked like a wrecked ship—no spirit and absolutely no hope. I cursed her and many other people repeatedly, as if I am angelic and has never made mistakes in my entire life. [She did make a mistake, but it doesn't mean she's devil. She's just a normal human being, remember zah? But yeah, I know it hurts. It does hurt when someone did something like that to you. It's okay, zah. It's okay. I understand] I lingered in that classroom a little longer and then I went downstairs. With the remnants of my energy,I cleaned my messy classroom [you rarely clean, organize and declutter your bedroom but you clean your classroom every single damn day, why? because you pretend to be a good girl and don't want people to know how messed up you are? anyways forget it] and then head in the parking lot. When I was about to leave, I couldn't help but crying some more. Then all of a sudden I was caught by the janitor. He asked "what are you doing there?" He saw me crying! It was one of the most embarrassing moments in my life. I'd rather disappear than experience embarrassing moments like this. I ignored him, and I started driving my motorcycle. On the way home, I didn't stop crying. I was crying so much today it almost felt like I was running out of tears.

You know, I hate a lot of people. I hold resentment and grudges for many people for years like my life depends on it. Believe me or not, I never, not even once, forget the bad things people have done to me. That's why I have never been good at forgiving people—not because I can't, but because I don't want to. Once I hate someone, I will give my all in making sure I will never forgive them. But you know what, no matter how evil people are, in all honesty, no one has ever been more ruthless than I have been to myself. Isn't it ironic, because I am someone who loves encouraging, uplifting, and advocating self-love to other people—and yet I am also someone who has always been doing many despicable things to myself. I deeply care about a lot of people but more often than not I just treat myself like shit. I always check in on people and ask how they've been but oftentimes I just don't give a damn about myself. I love some people so much I could die for them if needed, but I barely even take care of myself.

Yeah, a bunch of people have done evil wrongdoings to me, but none of them has ever tried to literally kill me. I was the one who kept feeding the suicidal thoughts that were inside of my freaking mind and acted upon them—I was the one who ran away and almost jumped off of the bridge in the middle of the night in my own volition, I was the one who tried to get into motorcycle accident multiple times, I was the one who always wanted to jump off of tall somethings but never got the chance to do so, I was the one who intentionally overconsumed a plethora of random medicines for 5 days straight , I was the one who "made" dangerous (you have no idea how dangerous it is for human body) toxins and then drunk it with utmost willingness, I was the one who used to literally scratch my arms with a small knife, etc—I was the one who tried to commit suicide many many many times.

But in those moments of agony, despair, and hopelessness—God always saved me. He never let me die by committing suicide in any shape or form. He has always been there when I needed Him the most. He sent me kindhearted people to to prevented me from going down the wrong path. And even when I had nobody to turn to, He has always been there when I needed Him the most—He always listened to me, He always consoled me, He always calmed me down and wiped my tears, and most of all, He always washed the pain away. Why? Why He didn't just let me die? Why does God keep giving me "the second chance"? Why He keeps taking good care of me? Why He never stops unconditionally loving me, even after all the minor and major sins that I have committed (and still do)?

I have been dealing with some personal problems and I am continuously struggling with my mental health (I still have suicidal thoughts from time to time). That's why sometimes I tend to push people away. That's why I always choose to be alone, because I don't wanna get hurt by anyone and I don't wanna hurt/harm anyone either. Despite everything, I am still here—by God's grace. I am grateful I still survive up to this point after all the traumatizing and harrowing experiences I have gone through in my life. I am grateful because Palestinian people always hold me accountable. I am grateful Palestinian people have made me become stronger than ever. Always protect, provide, and love them, ya Allah. They are one of the reasons why I refuse to give up on myself. Ya Rabb, please forgive me. Forgive me for everything. And please always guide me to be a better person. Give me Your light, and don't ever let me walk this temporary journey called life alone. Aamiin.

“Do you love me?”

She would ask that, she didn’t want to sound clingy, probably why the moments she asked those simple four words were always when they were the most intimate.

How beautiful she is. Bucky could never grasp why she was with him. Y/N would always laugh when he said something as cliche like “I’m so lucky to have you”,“you’re so beautiful, what are you doing with me?”, "my sweet little angel", "my doll".

The truth was that Y/N found Bucky extremely handsome. She could watch him all day if required. She loved his eyes, his lips, his facial hair which seemed to grow by seconds, his soft hair, his jaw, his scars, his metal arm, his nightmares.

Everything.

But she also loved his personality. He was such a complicated person! Traumatized, stubborn, closed off but… he was funny, so damn smart, sweet, surprisingly romantic, and truly cared about her.

Both were too scared to start something when they first fell for each other. Bucky had such a terrible life filled with torture and loss. So even if unconsciously, he expected pain from all the situations, and if he couldn't love himself how could someone else love and accept him?

And Y/N had too much trust issues to trust a guy. Maybe it could be her father’s responsibility for cheating on her mother, hell, even her mother’s fault for cheating on her father!

Maybe it was all the people's fault for cheating on their s/o and acting like it was okay… like it was some animal instinct that overpowered them.

Weak.

But she allowed Bucky in her heart, how could she not? Never a guy has made such sweet displays for her. It was in the details, when he saved the last cupcake for her. When he would give her his jacket. Or offered her a ride on his motorcycle when she needed to go somewhere and Bucky didn't want her feeling crowded in the subways and buses.

Even so much as buying flowers. Back in the day it was normal, to court someone. Buy some flowers, a box of chocolate -or in the case of New York's depression, a flower stolen on the neighbor and some candy his parents had saved in the fridge- but in the modernity, it seemed as "clichê", he thought of asking help to make a cd to you, but then they said now it was a playlist-thing and he excluded that idea because it was getting too weird and he didn't want to ask help. So he did buy flowers, not a bouquet, but a small jar with a tiny flower so she could plant, then another, then a small cactus, and when the idea of receiving flowers from him was something expected; He bought a bouquet.

And it was stunning.

A mix of blue roses, with white tulips, lavender, and blue nemophila. Only the most distinct, so Y/N could feel he thought about her in the whole process. Which everyone could see he did. She was the only thing that mattered to him. He was so gentle, never pushed her to do something she wasn't comfortable with, on the contrary actually, y/n that initiated the first time they had sex, the kisses grew deeper but Bucky wasn't ready so they waited until he felt comfortable. He was honest, kind, and even with his nightmares... he opened up to her, allowed her in the vastness that was his mind. His guilt, his pain.

He trusted her, and Y/N thought it was amazing.

Once -while friends- they went to a small gathering Fury throw to celebrate a successful mission that took a couple of years to be done. And everyone was dressed up, and even that some said it was a small party, it ended up with 200 people. Bucky didn't want to go at first, but Steve told him it would do good, and then Y/N was excited too so he made the effort.

Besides, since he started working with the team, the shield agents took a likening to the metal armed man.

Bucky thought in holding his hair together in a man bun, but then he felt weird so he took it off. So he tried another style but it was also ridiculous. He ended up letting it freely, as usual, she seemed to like in that way.

But deep down he just wanted to look good. For her.

They went together to the place, of course it was high safety so they could relax, even for just a moment. Y/N looked stunning, per usual, she didn't like to use makeup on the daily basis, and she was a fucking piece of art. But she also managed to look striking with those products on her face, Buck giggled as she held his arm for support since she was wearing Natasha's heels, and since people always saw them together and adding that in the party people were sure they got together. 

Steve was proud, very much. Even though his heart broke a bit since he had a major crush on Y/N since the day he saw her for the first time. But the way Bucky looked at her... that was what love glowed like.

But as the night went on and Y/N mixed with her other friends, Bucky kept alert and spotted a man staring at her, he was Jay Halstead, a good guy, great agent, and Y/N's friend, and what pissed Bucky more was the fact that they would look great together.

If Jay was a prick, it would be easier but he was a good fella, as good at the level that he served with Sam in the army, good as he was the one that helped Steve to find the best psychologic on the country.

Annoyingly good. And he would be good for her.

Buck was talking with Steve and Clint when he got a glimpse of Jay approaching y/n, and she was very happy to see him. Hugged him and even allowed him to linger his arm on her shoulder.

Buck's stance changed and Steve realized why.

Clint drank his beer and shrugged. "If she isn't your girlfriend you can't be pissed because other guys like her."

Buck didn't agree, nor responded but he knew what Clint meant.

Before Steve could give some advice Buck smiled, y/n waved at him and called him over.

Buck looked at Steve who told him it was okay.

Jay smiled seeing Bucky, shook his hand and Buck was glad Jay’s arm wasn't around y/n's shoulder anymore.

"Hey, just wanted to congratulate you on the last mission, saw the files and you fixed what Fury has been trying to fix in 12 years."

Taken aback by the praise Buck only nodded, but a small smile lingered on his face. "Thanks, man."

"And also he now beats Steve in the mornings run." Y/N confessed.

Jay laughed and by Y/N’s smile it was clear it was an inside joke. "No one can ever beat Steve Rogers, I fainted last time I tried."

"Well, I have been winning in runs over the punk since we were 10. Some things don't change with time."

"Yeah, i have to go. Mission tomorrow morning, just passed by to say hello to everyone." Jay leaned and kissed Y/N's cheek. "Bye, sweetheart. Good to see you." And then extended his hand again to shake Bucky's. "And congratulations again, i am happy you're in the avengers. The world needs you." With a tap on the shoulder, Jay left and Bucky stood a bit shocked for what the man said.

But after all, it was all Y/N has been saying over the months she met him.

And after what seemed like ages Y/N finally let him in. And Buck also fought his demons and allowed to be loved and cherished by someone.

And it was amazing.

                               ...

Meeting her family took a bit longer than the ’normal’ couples take. Her family was okay, but she was worried about how they would feel and most importantly how Buck would feel.

Y/N’s family lived far and using Tony's jet they flew to her homeland, her cousin flirted with Bucky wich made Y/N glare at her almost all barbecue. Y/N's mom was a bit worried about her daughter date a man in such a dangerous life, but she was happy so that was all that mattered.

And Bucky's family was Steve, so it was clear that he accepted them together. 

Buck has never felt so much like he did with her.

Dream.

Dream was the word Bucky could only imagine when Y/N danced for him. Her small satin dress covering her smooth skin, he loved how her hips moved so graciously, the scent of her shampoo, how she kissed his cheeks when he made coffee for her. Y/N could be in her period, feeling awful wearing baggy pants and still, she managed to steal his heart even without trying. He was sure that no one had ever loved someone as much as he loves her.

He could do anything for her.

On a mission, Bucky was looking the area of the attack arguing with Sam of where was the best point of attack, he was really close to yell at the man who never agreed with his tactics when his phone made a ping sound letting him know a message has arrived.

Hey baby, I hope you’re okay and you haven’t slapped Samuel! I’m watching you, mister! ;)

I’ll have to make a small trip with Brenda, she had a problem with her parents and she needs me to help her. I’m sorry but I really have to go. See you in a few days.

Bucky, I love you. With all that I am.

Bucky found it weird, Brenda’s family lived in another country, why she would make such travel in a hurry? 

Of course, Y/N was a good friend, but she didn’t do such spontaneous things.

As he glanced at his cellphone with a keyboard (designed for him, since his metal arm managed to break the last smartphones) he re-read the messages before he tried to call her only to be met with a voice message. He tried to calm his nerves down and finish his work. She had warned him after all, it wasn’t like she went away without telling him.

At their apartment, he saw a few notes here and there, one in the fridge telling she left some leftovers for some days. 

Another in the bathroom reminding him to buy shampoo and one on their bedroom saying: “You won’t die if I stay a few days away.”

Silly girl.

But even if Buck was suspicious of the sudden new he needed to trust her, he couldn’t be the crazy boyfriend who didn’t trust his girl.

However on the next day, he found it completely weird that she didn’t call him, she sent a text saying she was okay and safe but she couldn’t call him, he asked why but she just asked him to trust her and quickly stopped answering his texts.

Really really weird.

Was she kidnapped? Was she cheating on him? Was she really traveling with her friend? His mind couldn’t stop making ideas up. Bad assumptions up.

Gladly Bucky had a great memory so he remembered Brenda’s adress when Y/N went there a few months prior, he had to go there and see if Brenda was at home, if his girl was there or if she was actually out of the country. If she was out of danger.

Finally reaching the the street he stopped the car before walking to Brenda's house. He knocked on the door praying for no one to be home, but after a few seconds, it quickly opened with Brenda showing him a confused face. “Hey? What are you doing here?”

Fuck. “Hey, um, is Y/N here?”

“No, actually I haven’t talked with her for weeks now. Why? Did you guys had a fight?” For Brenda, it was almost impossible for you and Buck to fight, but as herself had a realtioship where she thought the man was perfect, she knew to expect anything.

Y/N lied, what was happening?

Knowing it wasn’t for the best to let her know about the situation he made a small smile. “Yeah, we did, I thought she was here. Thanks.” He hurriedly left not waiting for her response.

All the -painful- way home Bucky overthought his whole relationship, why would Y/N lie to him?

He couldn’t place a reason for it, the only things that were hammering on his thoughts were the hypothesis: Kidnap, cheating or she simply got tired of his traumatized self.

But why would she cheat on him? 

Wasn’t he a good boyfriend? Does she suddenly feel tired of his problems?  

Was she tired of his hard personality? 

Wasn’t he satisfying her in bed?

Have you found someone else?

Why?

And most important…if so, with who?

Bucky's mind was around doubts and adding all of his insecureness wasn’t helping much.

He didn’t even realize he reached her building until he saw his neighbor going for a walk with his dog. The whole walk he was pinned by fear and rage that he didn’t even count his steps.

To not help much his case he called her with no answer, he texted her with no answer either.

What could he do? He didn’t know where she was, or with who she was.

Was she safe?

“What is happening, my heart? Why are you lying to me?” He mumbled alone in their bedroom.

His heart cracking each thought he had.

After five longs and painful days, he received a text.

Hey Bucky. I’m going home we need to talk.

Bucky couldn’t answer, he couldn’t possibly ask what she wanted to talk about? Why would she leave him?

                               ...

There she stood, a single suitcase in her hand and a tired face.

Bucky wanted to hug her, to get in his feet, and to say how worried he was… but no! He allowed his rage to consume him when he saw she was alright and no enemy of his has taken and hurt her.

He was mad.

“Hey Bucky we-”

“Why?” Without letting her finish her sentence or even getting up from the couch, he asked.

“What?”

“Why you left and lied? Are you tired? Do you want to break up? Because i re-create the past weeks and i can’t see a reason for this, Y/N. You ran away and lied to me saying you traveled with Brenda to Brazil?”

She didn’t argue, only let the suitcase on the floor and rubbed her face. And with her silent stare, Bucky knew the end was near.

And that would break him, make all of the pieces he built in the last years since he got free from Hydra to fall apart.

Letting a sarcastic chuckle his frustration over the last weeks started to show with full force. “You’re selfish! I always said that i don't need your help, that i was broken and still am but you didn't have to stay with me. I always warned you and now that i'm so fucking deep in love with you-you will destroy this. But please, tell me what is it. Am I not satisfying you enough? Or is the nightmares? Maybe because i ca not go to the library with you or because we can’t go to the movies and i know you always says that Stark's is almost the same but you love movies and Y/N-” 

For more dramatically Bucky sounded, she knew he was self-conscious about his state, of course, he did therapy to help with his self-loathing but seeing the most precious thing getting ready to leave was about to break his cold-mended heart.

Making all his therapy process going to air.

Y/N stood there, looking tired and staring at him. She knew he would be mad, she was mad at herself for lying so blatantly. “Are you done?”

Taking a deep breath and placing his hands on his pockets he nodded, trying to control the tears to leave his eyes.

“I’m not cheating you, I never did, I never will. And i'm not tired of us. I’m not overwhelmed, you are the most important thing in the universe to me.” She took her jacket off and walked to the couch.

Bucky looked at her carefully while she approached him, so what was the problem then. “Tell me.”

“I’m not trying to break up with you, if that is what you think.”

He nodded and let a small sigh let his nostrils. A lock of hair leaving his man bun and Y/N's fingers itched to pull it behind his ear.

“I… I needed some time to think, I didn’t want to lie to you but I really needed some time alone without you getting worried.”

Was she sick? Why was she so sad? 

He sat by her side and looked at her lap taking a deep breath, her gaze met Bucky's and she nodded her head almost telling herself it was the proper moment. “I’m pregnant.”

The time seemed to stop for Buck, such a brilliant man and that was the only thing he hasn’t anticipated to leave her beautiful’s lips.

It made sense for him now, Y/N was always predicting the worst. Always waiting for the day he would grow tired of her and leave, or only try to have some “fun” and fool around with someone else. 

She didn’t want to have a child because she was afraid she would have to do it all by herself.

“Y/N… baby, I’m-”

“I don’t want it.” Her answer was firm but her lips were trembling with nerves. “I-” Her eyes filled with tears, even with the past days being of pure anxieties and sorrow, she still had tears left. “I can’t have it, Bucky. I- I-, I’m so scared.”

He couldn’t control his eyes when they glanced at her belly, his child was there, growing each day. He wanted the baby, wanted a boy or a girl to cherish and take care.

And only the thought of a baby so pure and ethereal as Y/N meant a lot. 

It was his.

After everything he suffered, everything he did that provoked people to suffer, he was blessed with a son or a daughter.

But he needed to focus on her.

“Will you try ab- abortion?” He didn’t want her to do that, he would try to change her mind if she said yes but he knew it was her choice.

“I… I don’t know! I mean no I won’t. I can’t! But Bucky, I’m so so scared.”

“You think I’ll leave.” He said softly, she looked at him startled, but she shouldn’t. Bucky always knew her. “You know I would never abandon you, especially not with our child.”

She nodded, her heartbeat going faster and faster by the second. He could hear it, of course he could. Apparently, the time to “cool off” didn’t help as she has thought.

Bucky gently held her waist and thigh and pulled her to his lap, Y/N hugged him tightly and started to sob. Bucky was her home.

And she was terrified he would leave her, especially with a child to take care of.

“Shh shh, pretty girl. It’ll be okay.” His hand started to caress her scalp softly trying to bring her some comfort.

Some minutes of pure comfortable silence passed before Y/N straightened her back and looked at the deep blue of his eyes. “I’m sorry I lied…” She murmured.

Bucky chuckled at the thought of how angry he was 20 minutes ago at her, now it seemed really stupid the way he allowed his demons to make him think the worst of his angel. 

“I forgive you. Y/N,” He raised his hand and touched her cheek softly, she leaned in and kissed his palm. “I know you’re worried I’ll leave or that you will have to raise that child alone but I promise you that I won’t let you down! I won’t let our child down!” He placed his other hand on her belly, Y/N smiled at the vision. 

Of course, she didn’t have a bump yet, but seeing Bucky hand touching a place where half him and half her was growing was a new comforting feeling.

Y/N nodded and smiled at him, lifting her pinky she pouted. “Promise? Even that the serum has some effect or if someone tries to take them away from me. Promise you will be there for me?”

He chuckled at her cuteness but realized how deeper the worries about a child was, interlacing his pinky with hers he nodded. “I promise.” She leaned in and kissed him lovely. She missed him.

He gazed at her, and as he passed his thumb under her eye to dry a tear, he was more sure than ever that she was the light of his life. “We got this, my love.” He affirmed his hands holding her face softly. “We do.”

Bucky Barnes is good at protecting the ones he loved, so he will do the possible and impossible to protect his perfect little family.

My Journey through Yuri, Part II

So, to be fair, this is the first anime that kicked off my midlife discovery of anime. And while Symphogear holds the top spot in my heart, Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid is a very, very close second. Symphogear fulfills my need for warm fluffy fuzzies and adventure. Valkyrie fulfills my need for... everything else: lesbians, sex, lesbian sex, humor, over-the-top-ridiculous premises, zero male characters, and just... literally everything. If Symphogear is comfort food, then Valkyrie is my favorite meal that is hella bad for me, but I just don’t care.

I don’t even remember how I stumbled onto this anime, but I thank the fucking gods that I did. I found it, watched the entire series one night, and again the next two nights with the girls. Also, thanks to this show, Diana taught me two important anime terms: ecchi and oppai. We’ll start here:

And so it begins...

Let me start here: you best be grown for this post. And you best be grown if you’re watching this show because damn they is a lot of sex.

The whole premise of this show is that girls infected with the Arm Virus are quarantined on islands away from the rest of the world. Infected girls can be either Extars or Liberators. Extars transform into weapons (”Arms”) that Liberators use or “drive.” And in order to transform, Extars must be sexually stimulated by a compatible Liberator. Yup.

I was actually concerned at first because I thought this setup had a lot of potential to have all the attitudes and ideas I find super squicky in anime (and in media in general): questionable consent, objectification, toxic relationships, etc. But I was pleasantly surprised that consent is actually addressed really well in the series, and overall, I thought it handled excellently so I wasn’t squicked out at all.

So, onto the characters:

Above you see our two main characters: Mamori, the red head, is an Extar. The blond, Mirei, is a Liberator. And as is seen above, they were meant for each other. That being said, bless Mirei and her heart of gold, because Mamori is real simple. If I have one complaint about this show, it’s that Mamori is that annoyingly innocent and oblivious and simple protagonist. You know the one. She’s that dog you have that can’t figure out how to push open a door with its nose even though it’s already mostly open anyway and whines until you get up and cross the room and push it open the remaining three inches so she can come in. Lord love her, she’s adorable and sweet, but just... not bright.

But Mirei is phenomenal. Despite Mamori’s obliviousness, Mirei is immediately staunchly devoted to her. All she wants to do is protect Mamori. She is tall and mysterious and proves to be a badass fighter in her first thirty seconds on screen. You can’t help but fall in love with her strength and stubbornness. And I’m a sucker for the strong but silent and awkward types. 

What I like best about their relationship is how Mirei automatically does whatever she thinks is in Mamori’s best interests or aligns with her desires from word one. She sees Mamori under attack, she places herself between her and her attacker. Mamori complains about a character being cruel to another, Mirei moves to put a stop to it. Mamori asks Mirei not to hurt some one, so she doesn’t. I’m not a big fan of “love at first sight” type shit, but I can’t help but just fucking adore Mirei’s instant devotion to Mamori. Not just her, but to her thoughts and feelings.

Next up, we have the dynamic duo referred to as “Lady Lady.”

Oh, I cannot say enough about these two. Lady Rain and Lady J. Both are both Liberators and Extars, able to switch between roles as the situation dictates. SWITCH, get it?? One transforms into a sword/gun and the other a badass motorcycle. They claim it isn’t the sex that allows them transform but the strength of their bond. It’s actually quite beautiful how dedicated they are to one another. Former members of a paramilitary government organization, they chose exile and quarantine over being tools of others.

Next up, we’ve got Meifon. Meifon is a schemer obsessed with making a buck. What I adore about her is that she is an asexual/aromantic character. On an island where everyone is fucking everyone all the time. It is such an interesting idea of how someone who doesn’t experience sexual arousal/stimulation in a “typical” way functions on an island where sex is so highly prioritized. It was a really neat idea that I was surprised to see the show tackle. While it isn’t addressed in a super deep or meaningful way, it is an unexpected and nice touch.

The “Governor.” Normally, I am all about avoiding spoilers, but I was surprised that we were supposed to think the governor is a dude. I know sometimes it can be hard to tell in anime, and I am guilty of more than once being like “What a super hot lady!” and it ended up being a fella and cue disappointment. But Akira was clearly a woman from the first time we see her. It wasn’t until the fourth episode that I learned she was supposed to be a “man.” She is so clearly a lady. If you can’t figure that out in ten seconds, you’re as simple as Mamori, bless your heart.

I feel it’s a missed opportunity for Akira not to be trans, but she’s not. She’s just pretending to be a fella for power, to stand out on an island full of women. It would have been a lot more interesting and compelling in my humble opinion. But whatever.

I could go on and on about all the many fantastic characters on this show, but there are a few other things I want to talk about.

1. I usually prefer the original Japanese voice actors, but this is one of the rare times when the opposite is true. The English voice acting is on point, very well acted, and an utter delight. Mirei in particular has a fantastic dead-pan delivery that I adore.

2. This show is hysterically funny. I laughed so hard so many times. Especially during the episode “Giant Girl, Little Heart.” I mean... just look at this:

The giant girl’s name is Nimi Minimi. I can’t even. Dear god. It’s so funny. I have a great appreciation for anything that can make me laugh. There are a lot of jokes about pitching and catching. And this is an actual quote from this episode: “Nimi, you’re the only one who can catch my fastball. Only you can catch my body and soul!” It’s classic.

3. The power and relationship dynamics are very interesting. Poly seems to be a pretty readily accepted practice. Platonic “driving” seems to be a thing. Consent is approached several different ways, and each is very interesting. Another thing this show does well is examine the problems inherent in such a system. It isn’t all girls kissing girls and touchy touchy fun times. There is a lot included on how that power can be abused and what corruption may look like in a hyper-sexualized state. So, maybe trigger warning? I’m pretty sensitive, but I did not find it trigger-y. It was actually nice to see such abuse of power highlighted as abuse without a veiled attempt to make it okay because it’s sexy times between two (or more) women.

4. Story/plot/etc - I’ll be real. The bar was really low when I initially started this. I mean, I didn’t expect much given the premise, but ended up being very pleasantly surprised. The story is reasonably compelling and more thought out than expected. There are more complexities than I anticipated, and it all wraps up neatly at the end of the series in a satisfying way. 

So, I guess that wraps up Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid. Conclusion: Watch it. It’s beautifully NSFW and unashamedly queer. There needs to be more anime like it. I think next I’ll write about Flip Flappers as it was recommended to me on my last post, and it currently holds the number three spot in my heart.

Pretty-Rage & Kamen Haida: Part 1

Together, both in battle, and in matrimony, they swore to keep the city safe, and the Byriams at bay. Here they are now, walking with their trusted friend, and tech associate, Fenneko, and their precious son, Ikari, talking about protecting the Earth, no doubt!

Retsuko: Agh, I can’t believe I forgot to pack myself a lunch today! I skipped breakfast too!

Haida: Retsuko, it’s alright! We’ll just quickly walk by some place, and get something for you to eat.

Fenneko: No can do. We’re crunched for time, Ton’s got a lot of work for us.

Haida: ...who told y-Tsunoda?

Fenneko: Tsunoda.

Haida: Figured.

Retsuko: Well, there’s a convenience store coming up, you sure we can’t ju-*noticing a fight breaking out in front of the store*

Haida: ...come on! *the two run towards the two men fighting*

Customer: *pinning the store clerk to the ground* You son of a bitch! You gonna rob your customers too?!

Store Clerk: I-I’m so sorry! I don’t understand it, myself!

Haida: *pulling the customer back* Hey, HEY! Cool it!

Retsuko: *gets the store clerk back up* What’s going on, here?!

Customer: People are starving out here, that’s what!

Tsubone: THERE WAS NONE MADE! WE CHECKED!

Ton: WHAT?! Ugh, *stomping over to check* as if the women in here aren’t lazy enough already! ….wait, where is everything?!

*the other employees begin running towards the tearoom, to discover, like was revealed earlier, there is no consumable object in sight*

Haida: ...oh, I hoped that was just an exaggeration.

Fenneko: Okay, something is going on. Come on. *she grabs out her laptop, and places it on the lunch table the three usually sit*

Retsuko: You think it’s the Byriam?

Fenneko: “Think?” Retsuko, I know. We just gotta figure it out. Lucky me, I happened to hack into all the major security cameras in Tokyo.

Haida: ….why?

Fenneko: The less you know, the better. Anyway, it’s apparently been going on all morning, so let’s see if we can figure out what happened last night. *opens up software, to reveal, indeed, security footage spread all across the city* And it looks like the cannibals are out and about this lovely day.

Retsuko: *seeing people attack one another* Good grief…

Fenneko: Anyhoo! Let’s see if we can turn back time a wee bit. *starts rewinding footage, to last night, early in the morning* Now, let’s take a looksie at the convenience store we checked out. *finds the cameras for the store, and checks out the footage*

*at around 2:00 AM, the back door flies open, and suddenly a ton of food starts floating out, into the sky…*

Fenneko: ...what the fu-

Haida: Look! *he sees other cameras, showing food from all across Tokyo, floating off, in a similar way* What’s going on?!

Fenneko: Actually, look. It’s not all going to the sky, looks like it’s going to that forest over there.

Retsuko: ...isn’t that Koajiro Forest?

Haida: ...we should probably check it out.

Retsuko: Let’s go! *the two almost take off, before her dress is tugged by something* Huh?

Ikari: Mamaaaa! *whines a little, as an audible growl can come from his stomach*

Retsuko: Aw, Ikari! *pats his head* We’ll get you something to eat soon. Okay, sweetums? *to Fenneko* Can you get him, like, some water, or something, to hold him over?

Fenneko: I can try.

Retsuko: Thanks. *to Haida* Come on!

*the two begin to run off, as the rest of the office is trying to find something resembling food*

Ton: Any luck?!

Komiya: N-no, sir!

Ton: WELL, KEEP LOOKING!

*outside, just on the side of the office building, Retsuko and Haida stand*

Retsuko: *grabbing out a pink microphone, with a heart on top* Ready?

Haida: *revealing his golden belt, with a switch on it* Ready!

*Retsuko twirls the heart on the microphone, and Haida flicks the switch on the belt buckle, as the two do some poses, before shouting out…*

Retsuko and Haida: HENSHIN!

*and with that, they transform, into the adorable, but angry, Pretty-Rage, and the tall, and deadly, Kamen Haida, complete with a motorcycle!*

Kamen Haida: *mounts the motorcycle* Hop on!

Pretty-Rage: *mounts behind him* Let’s figure this out!

Kamen Haida: Right! *drives off, as they head out to Koajiro Forest…*

*meanwhile, in said forest, a gigantic pile of food has been accumulated, by various Byriam foot soldiers (named Cronions), and monitored by two monsters, one being a creature resembling a Kabuki actor, except being considerably obese, named Kuishinbō, and the other being a burnt-red, slim, demonic bird looking being, named Phoenixia*

Kuishinbō: Ohohohohoho! Oh, joyous of days! So much food, ripe for the taking!

Phoenixia: Yes, but this is just the beginning. With all of this, the Earthlings’ energy and morale will be dwindling considerably, giving the empire the perfect time to strike….obviously not the primary concern for you, I imagine.

Kuishinbō: Not at all! *charges at the food pile, and begins chowing down*

*while all this is going down, Pretty-Rage and Kamen Haida are hiding in the bushes, seeing all of this going down*

Kamen Haida: So that’s where it all went.

Pretty-Rage: *getting irritated at the monster eating the food* That bastard...come on! Let’s get them!

Kamen Haida: Right! *the two jump up, causing the Cronions to look around*

Phoenixia: Agh, damn it! They’re here! Get into formation!

*the Cronions prepare themselves, as the two heroes land*

Pretty-Rage: Using my death metal anger to make this a world of happiness! PRETTY-RAGE!

Kamen Haida: A punk at heart trying to bring order to this land! KAMEN HAIDA!

Phoenixia: *sigh* So it appears we meet again.

Pretty-Rage: It appears so, Phoenixia! That food belongs to the civilians of Tokyo! Give it back, now!

Kuishinbō: *jumping up and down* Noooooo! They want to take away my snacks! Cronions! ATTACK!

Cronions: *high pitched squeaks, as they charge towards the two!*

Pretty-Rage: Let’s do this! *jumps up, and screams, causing some Cronions to fall back!*

Kamen Haida: Let’s go! *grabs one goon, and punches it right in the gut, before throwing it aside!*

Phoenixia: Agh! FIRE!

Cronion: *nods, as a few of them grab out uzis, and begin firing at the two heroes!*

Kamen Haida: YIPE! *he and Pretty-Rage jump away from the blast, but when they do, he notices her...squirming* ...are you okay?

Pretty-Rage: *clenching her stomach* I-I’m fine! Come on! *runs after the monster*

Kuishinbō: Ohohoho! Feeling a touch weak, are we? Well, maybe this oughta make you feel worse! *grabs out a sword from his side, and slashes her multiple times, causing her to fly back!*

Pretty-Rage: AAAGH! *falls to the ground, unconscious*

Kamen Haida: PRETTY-RAGE! *runs to her, and looks at Kuishinbō* Bastard!

Kuishinbō: Yooooooo!!! *laughs maniacally* I got one! I got one!

Kamen Haida: Ugh! *charges at the monster, and tries to perform a jump-kick*

Kuishinbō: Ohohoho! *grabs Kamen Haida’s foot, and begins swinging him around*

WHAT THE-?! *he turns, and sees Cronion soldiers, on motorcycles, firing at them* No, NO! *he sees an exit, and immediately makes the turn*

Cronion: *high-pitched scream, as they TRY to make the turn, but crash*

Kamen Haida: Okay…don’t worry, Retsuko. We’ll get you feeling better…*starts feeling dizzy* …no….no, not now...damn it, now I’m getting hungry...and thirsty….and….tired…*suddenly crashes the bike, leaving the two rolling on the ground on the ground, unconscious*

So I just finished reading one of your single dad shiro au pieces and thought of a prompt: Keith wanting to go skydiving (or he already made plans to do so). I'm curious as to how shiro will react to Keith bringing that up to him lol.

Hello! I’m sorry it’s been so long. But the end of the semester is in sight, and I just got a new puppy! Puppies are more work and take up practically all of my time! I can’t ever get anything done while I’m watching him, but he is precious. However, thank you to you and those who continued to send in prompts! I’m hoping to get through my ask box today and tomorrow with prompts! This was a fun prompt to do and I don’t know if Shiro’s response is expected or not, but thanks for sending this!               “Okay.”

              “And if you’re going to say no – wait, what?”

              “I said okay.”

              “Okay?”

              “Yup. O and Kay. That’s what I said.”

              “Okay?”

              “Keith.” Shiro sighed, fighting back a smile on his lips. It was rather amusing to see the confused look on Keith’s face after Shiro had answered his question. Shiro wondered if this may have just broken his son. That might be bad; breaking your son is not always a good idea.

              “Alright, alright.” Keith raised his hands in the air. He took a deep breath, still frowning but look at his dad. For a while, he didn’t know if he had actually heard his dad correct, but after a few repeats, Keith could only ask “what” so many times. “I just want to be totally clear. You just told me, that it was okay for me to go skydiving. You know, the thing where I jump out of planes and use a parachute to land?”

              “Yes, I am aware of what skydiving entails. After all, I jumped out of many planes during my days in the army.” Shiro laughed softly, leaning back against the counter. It was still early on a Sunday morning, and quiet throughout the neighborhood. Even Red was still asleep while Shiro and Keith talked.

              “But you wouldn’t even let me get a motorcycle for the longest time last year,” Keith stated. Shiro rubbed the back of his neck, feeling his ears burn at the memory. That was very true. “How is this not even more dangerous than a motorcycle?”

              “Yes, well, you’re seventeen now, nearly eighteen,” Shiro said softly. “You’ve proven that you know when to be careful and I know it won’t be much longer before I can’t tell you what to do anymore.” Shiro didn’t bother to explain the last part of his response. “Besides, you’re kind of an adrenaline junky, with all that pent-up rage fueled in your small body.”

              “Hey!” Keith grumbled, swatting at his father’s hand when Shiro tried to ruffle his hair. “I am not that much smaller! Just you wait, by this time, next year I’ll be taller than you!” Keith said bitterly. Shiro chuckled softly before his throat tightened for a moment.

              This time next year, Keith won’t be here to show off.

              “Well, we will have to find out later than that, since you’ll be on base a year from now,” Shiro explained, causing Keith to suddenly frown in realization. For a tense moment the atmosphere was heavy and somber, at the realization that Keith would be heading to training in only nine months and a year from now, he would possibly be overseas in the military.

              Shiro had a rough time dealing with Keith after Keith had announced to follow in his father’s footsteps in joining the military at eighteen. Shiro’s heart had gone into overtime, as terrible flashbacks of his imprisonment and torture came back to the surface of his mind after over twenty years. He was ashamed to admit that he had avoided any and all conversation about Keith’s enlistment for months. But eventually, Shiro had to face reality and understand that this was happening. He’d eventually sat Keith down in order to understand if Keith was joining the army on his own terms and for him. Not to be like his dad. Not to follow in his dad’s footsteps. But because this was what Keith wanted.

              And it was.

              “Hey, no need to look so upset,” Shiro said gently, lifting Keith’s chin. “You’re going to do great things. I guess, I’m starting to realize you and I don’t have much more time before you’re off to training. So, why should I tell you no when this might be the only time in a long time that you can go?” Shiro shrugged, allowing Keith a small second to breathe again.    

              “Wait,” Keith said suddenly. “Does this mean that you’re –?”

��             “Going with you? Hell yeah.” Shiro grinned brightly, making Keith wince at the happiness radiating from his father. “Besides, the only way I’m letting you jump from an airplane is on my rules.” Shiro clapped his hands excitedly, already heading off to call a place. Keith couldn’t help but smile at his father’s antics before a sudden realization overcame him. There was no way that his dad was going to be this easy about letting Keith do something like skydiving.

              There had to be a trick to this.

              Something that Shiro was going to demand.

              Keith was very good at resisting the urge to slam his face against the wall repeatedly. Brain damage didn’t sound like the best way out of this situation, no matter how bad it was. He debated whether there was enough time to sneak out the back door, steal his dad’s car and drive back home and never speak of this moment ever again.

              That moment being Shiro arguing with one of the skydiving instructors.

              Keith was pleasantly surprised when his dad had driven them to a legitimate skydiving place, with planes and instructors, rather than an indoor skydiving place. Which meant that his dad was serious about the fact that he was allowing Keith to do this. However, that shock was slowly turning to horror when after they had both changed that Shiro had claimed that Keith would be jumping with him. Normally, new jumpers jumped with an instructor, in case anything happened.

              Keith knew that his dad wasn’t a new jumper, and was probably more trained for what to do in an emergency situation than some of these instructors, but he also understood the laws and policies of these places. Keith wanted to go skydiving and he was even willing to let a stranger be connected to him for the entirety of the time, but apparently, his dad had other ideas.

              “Sir, I’m sorry. But it’s contractual obligations and policy that those who have never jumped before have to jump with an instructor for safety reasons.” The instructor pleaded yet again. It was the same argument over and over for the last half an hour.

              “And all I’m saying is you’ve seen my paperwork and I practically know the owner here, so he knows that I am just as qualified as an instructor,” Shiro argued back tightly. “Which should validate that my son should be allowed to jump with me.”

              This was what dad meant by “my rules.” Keith almost hid his red face to save himself from embarrassment. Though, the damage was already done.

              “Sir. I know you’re more trained than most in jumping, but I cannot just bend the rules and go against our policies.” The instructor tried once more. Keith wanted to have hope for the man, but if there was one thing that Keith knew, it was that Shiroganes were stubborn. Especially Takashi Shirogane.

              “It’s not bending any rules. I’m practically an instructor, aren’t I?” Shiro asked, making Keith’s eye twitch.

              “Um, no. Sir, you have to take the test and go through our training techniques to be an instructor.” The instructor said meekly.

              “Well, then give me the test right here. And we can start training today. I’ll be a newbie but I’d technically be an instructor, so that means my son can jump with me.”

              Keith’s jaw dropped open. Was he being serious or was this some kind of sick joke to make me change my mind.

              “Um, no. Sir, that’s not how it works.”

              “Why not?”

              “…It just doesn’t.”

              “Then I’ll jump with you, with Keith,” Shiro said and the instructors face paled. His eyes quickly ran over Shiro’s toned body, before looking down at his own twig-like body before swallowing thickly. Then he looked over at Keith and his face paled even more.

              “Whoa, dad! Seriously?” Keith groaned, facepalming.

              “Of course son. Safety is most important to me, especially when it is your safety we are talking about.” Shiro nodded firmly. “I would feel much safer if you were with me, rather than a stranger. No offense.” Shiro nodded towards the instructor and Keith sighed heavily.

              “Dad, no. You’ll literally be jumping with me. Isn’t that enough?” Keith practically moaned.

              “Keith, you have no idea what’s involved in this situation. I just think that I have the best reflexes should anything happen.” Shiro shrugged without a hint of regret. Keith wished that he could just melt into the wall behind him.

              “Sir, our staff is trained with the utmost, um, best training. Um, our reflexes are tremendous. We haven’t ever had a problem in thirty years.”

              “Well, that doesn’t mean you could have a problem at 31 years. Thirty-one is an unlucky number.”

              “Um, isn’t it 13?”

              “No. Thirty-one. Trust me.”

              “Dad!”

              “Look, you’re a great fella �� Rick was it?” Shiro sighed and the instructor nodded meekly. “But we’re obviously getting nowhere with this. All I want is to jump with my son, who’s my only baby before he’s deployed across the seas with the military. We’ve only got a week left until he leaves.” Shiro suddenly said, eyes pitiful and lower lip jutted out slightly. His entire body suddenly sagged with defeat and instead of looking like the proud man that Takashi Shirogane was, an ex-special ops man who could kick down a brick house, looked like a drowned puppy.

              Keith’s eyes suddenly narrowed at the obvious lie.

              That’s dirty Takashi Shirogane.

              The little lie seemed to do the trick, as he chewed on his bottom lip and his eyes got somber.

              “Oh.”

              “Yeah, I just, want to keep him safe myself, these last few days until I can’t keep him safe anymore,” Shiro added sadly, causing the instructor's eyes to become even sadder. Keith forced himself not to roll his eyes. Wow, never would have thought dad would play this card.

              “I understand.” The instructor said quietly. He looked around the room a few times before sighing. “Let me talk to the owner and if you sign another waiver, then…I guess you can jump with your son.”

              “Thank you, Rick,” Shiro said quietly. He waited until the instructor had left the room entirely, before whipping off the sad look and glancing at Keith with a beaming smile.

              “There you go!” Shiro said happily, clapping his hands together and Keith did roll his eyes this time.

              “That was low, even for you.”

              “What?” Shiro mocked a look of heart and clutched at the left side of his chest. “I wouldn’t dare. It was practically true!” Shiro argued, earning a look of disappointment from Keith. “Though I may have exaggerated the timeframe of your employment but it’s alright!”

              “Weren’t you the one that taught me lying was bad?” Keith asked, crossing his arms over his chest and raising one eyebrow. Shiro simply waved Keith off with a hand.

              “It’s true! Except when it comes to skydiving and you jumping with a stranger.” Shiro replied happily. “Besides, you can’t tell me that you won’t have more fun with me than if you were strapped to a stranger the whole time.”

              Well, when he put it that way…

              Keith did, in fact, have more fun with his dad. The most fun he had in a while, and best of all, it was an exciting memory that he would have with him during his deployment away from his dad.

Jim drove them past open fields and blue sky, blaring rock music so loud that the cars opposite them were probably getting hit with bursts of sudden noise as they sped the other way. Finally, when the sun was high enough in the sky to hide the shadows from view, Nyota unbuckled her seatbelt, leaned back around the passenger seat, and turned off the radio with a click. “Hey, what was that for?” asked Jim indignantly, glancing between the backseat and the road. Nyota had settled back into her seat and was picking at fries from a paper drive-through bag; Spock was still methodically chewing his salad. “We’ve been listening to that for the past five hours,” said Nyota, brushing salt off her fingers. “It’s time for a break.” “Aww, come on,” Jim moaned. “We just had a break! Besides, you can’t cut off the Beastie Boys in the middle of a track.” “I just did. And stopping at a drive-through does not count as a ‘break.’ Spock agrees with me, don’t you, Spock?” The Vulcan peeled his gaze away from his lettuce. “I would agree that six-point-six minutes of silence hardly qualifies as a ‘break,’ when compared to the overall length of the music. Additionally, I have found this music to be somewhat… distracting from my concentration.”

“There.” She pursed her lips smugly. “Do you need me to drive again?” Jim sat up a little straighter at her suggestion. “Nah, I wanna reach Colorado first.” “Fine,” sighed Nyota, rolling her eyes. “Just let me know if you get sleepy.” “Will do. Now, by all means, continue whatever it is that requires your concentration, Spock.” “I shall endeavor to do so,” replied Spock, setting aside his fork. “I am teaching Nyota the written Vulcan language.” “Wait, what?” Jim glanced back over his shoulder; Nyota had handed Spock a notepad she’d been writing in, and he was now scanning over her handwritten symbols. “Most impressive… she has already memorized the basic script, and with the added distraction of your music.” Nyota beamed. “I’m used to it,” she explained modestly. “My dorm had thin walls.” “Excellent. Now we can start attaching sounds to symbols.” Spock followed his words with a harsh glottal noise, which Nyota attempted to mimic. “Oh, great,” muttered Jim. He turned down the volume knob and furtively switched the radio back on, the music soft, humming to himself to supplement the sounds that Nyota and Spock were making in the backseat as he sped closer to the old truck ahead of them. He glanced over at the lane for oncoming traffic – yes, clear, damn that double yellow line – and then over his shoulder, getting ready to swoop past the truck in an illegal maneuver– SCREECH. He slammed on the breaks, hurling the three of them against their seatbelts as the van jerked to a halt. There was the sound of three heads smacking back into headrests, and then a general squeal of complaint from the engine. They took a collective breath. Jim, coming to his senses first, hit the safety blinkers and cranked the gearshift into reverse, backing them up a few feet and onto the shoulder. “What,” began Nyota, peeling herself from her seatback the moment the van settled to a stop. She craned her neck around to see through the windshield, and her eyes widened. “Don’t tell me we almost crashed into that truck.” “It– I– In my defense, its break lights are dead,” said Jim feebly. “By my estimation, we were three-point-one seconds away from impact.” The two humans turned to stare incredulously at Spock, who was positioned in the middle back seat with a full view of the windshield, looking somewhat ruffled. “Three-point-one?” “Plus or minus one half-second,” he clarified. The slight break in his voice was the only hint that this situation was anything other than normal. “Holy shit,” breathed Nyota. “Okay, I’m getting out.” Jim followed her lead, killing the engine and stumbling out of the van with a cautious glance at the mercifully empty road behind them. Meanwhile, the door of the truck too had opened, and an irritated voice could be heard grumbling from inside. “Dammit, first the lights, now the engine… I’m a doctor, not a mechanic, for god’s sake!” A man emerged from the vehicle, stretching his limbs stiffly and surveying the damage. Then he turned, and caught Jim’s eye. “Oh dear lord, please tell me I didn’t almost murder three people,” he said, horrified. “I, um, was following you pretty closely,” admitted Jim. “So if it’s any consolation, it would have been my fault too.” The man gaped at Jim, with a look that said very clearly that this information was definitely not a consolation. “Why don’t we move off the road?” suggested Nyota, glancing nervously behind them. “Great idea,” said Jim. “If we push, can you steer the wheels towards the shoulder?” “You better be the one to do that, kid,” said the man, still looking shellshocked. Jim shrugged and headed for the driver’s side door. Nyota planted her feet in the ground, hands on the back of the truckbed; the man quickly copied her, with Spock bringing up the rear. “Okay, on three!” called Jim. “One– two–” They pushed, and suddenly the truck was moving forwards, gaining speed. Nyota took her hands off, surprised, as they swerved off the road and Jim hastily corrected the wheels. The man glanced over with a puzzled look, too, before they both saw the cause of their confusion: Spock, his fingers on the rim of the truckbed, propelling the entire vehicle forwards with such ease that he looked like he was pushing a shopping cart through the cereal aisle. “Aaaand… stop!” called Jim from the front, climbing onto the seat to engage the emergency brake. He hopped down, ambling towards them with an expectant look on his face that faltered slightly when he saw the two humans standing dumbly several feet behind the truck. He glanced between them and opened his mouth to ask a question, then thought twice. He turned to the man instead. “Got any tools?” Ten minutes later, he was giving the man a full autopsy report. “The battery’s dead; if we can’t jumpstart it that means you need a new one… you’ll need new brake lights, of course, and your mirror’s broken too… these wires are fraying… and this buddy over here’ll need to get replaced too, unless you want your engine to explode. How many miles did you say were on this thing? I’ll be honest with you, it would probably be cheaper just to get a new car.” “Yeah, tell me something I don’t know,” grumbled the man. “I’m telling you, the ex-wife didn’t even fight for this truck, that’s how worthless it is. She took everything she could get her grubby little hands on. But this piece of shit? Nah, this ain’t worth a dime.” “Wait wait, hang on.” Jim pulled out his phone. “I know a gal. I mean, I met her once at a music festival– we met in the parking lot, actually; she had this really cool bike–“ “Oh my god, please don’t say that you slept with her,” muttered Nyota, from her perch on the hood of the Enterprise. Spock stood between them, arms neatly folded behind his back, observing silently. “I didn’t, actually; she had this stick and I saw her beat up some guys who tried to flirt with her. But the point is, she’ll buy it off of you for cheap. Trust me, it’s better than getting towed.” He crowed triumphantly, holding up his phone. “We’re in luck! She’s just seven minutes away!” “You track her GPS?” asked Nyota incredulously. “No, she uses these special radio frequencies to communicate,” Jim explained. “I plug in our coordinates, and… ta-da!” “Yeah, you lost me there,” grumbled the man. “Well, assuming this girlfriend of yours doesn’t beat us all up with a stick, what am I supposed to do after that? I got nowhere to go and no car to get me there. I suppose it’s just the Lord’s way of punishing me for leaving the South behind.” Jim glanced at Nyota before replying. “Well… you could catch a ride with us,” he offered. “We’re heading west, planning to stop off in Colorado tonight.” The man considered this for a moment, gazing mournfully over at the small assortment of bags piled into the back of his truck. Then he looked at the van. “Thanks,” he mumbled, looking sheepish. He cleared his throat. “I’m Leonard McCoy, by the way. Doctor.” “Jim Kirk,” said Jim wryly, shaking his hand. “And these two mononym’d fellas are Uhura and Spock.” “Actually, I too have a family name,” Spock corrected. “I am S'chn T'gai Spock.” “Sichin-ta-what?” “S'chn T’gai,” parroted Nyota. Spock nodded approvingly, and she turned a smug smile on Jim. “It has less vowels than English,” she explained. “Think consonant clusters, like in tsunami or splice. Why do you want this character?: Because all of Paige’s characters are wonderful creatures and I am a mere weak human with no impulse control. She’s just amazing tbh. Characters like Isobel are always a favourite of mine and Ruby has some similarities to her but at the same time manages to be completely different! I love that she hates boredom and that she pushes herself to the limits- it’s been a while since I’ve been able to play an actual daring character and I can see her being quite the adrenaline junkie. I LOVE her friendship with Agnes, like, SO much! Frenemies are always great, but they seem hella next level and I’m just imagining them doing all this stuff to each other, screaming, fighting, whatever, and then like staying at each other’s houses like ofc I’m not going to let you walk home alone. Or just arguing and someone else says something to one of them and they both just turn on the person. I’m SO into all of this! I also love that Amber is essentially her babysitter too and I was actually kinda torn between Ruby and her, but since my current gals are all strangely tame right now (some out of obligation and others due to impending breakdowns) I’d like a gal that’s just out there having a hella time.

Virtues:

Daredevil: There’s quite honestly nothing that Ruby won’t try at least once. She lives for the thrill; whether that be bungee jumping off a bridge, riding her motorcycle far too fast, getting high on whatever substance she can get her hands on, or surfing that hella scary wave. Hell, she’s even been known to start a few bar fights (Note that I said start. Throwing a punch or two is all good and fine, but she won’t let anyone touch the moneymaker; her face.) Ruby is fearless and unpredictable in her actions and while some may look at her and see a cocky and reckless gal, she will tell you herself that she’s just living her life to the fullest while everyone else lives a life of boredom.

Principled: Okay, so she may not have the moral standing of any normal person on the street, but she does have her own set of principles she stands by and it would be rare to see her break them. For example, friends always some before lovers. Loosely translated that means Agnes comes before everyone else. Sure, there will be times when she bends this ever so slightly, but when push comes to shove, she would choose Agnes over everyone else in a heartbeat. She will also never apologise for anything she doesn’t regret (unless it’s done so in a condescending tone) and she will not stand for modelling agencies treating their employees like crap. The girl has her beliefs and she stick by them.

Aggressive: If we just ignore the fact that she sometimes likes to throw a punch, this does not mean that she is an angry person. Simply put, Ruby is a driven person. When she wants something, she goes for it with everything she has and sometimes she can be more forceful in her actions than she needs to be. Ruby is full on, 95% of the time, mostly where her modelling career is concerned, and it would take some amount of force to stop her when she sets her eye on something.

Flaws:

Deceitful: Quite honestly (pun intended), almost everything that comes out of her mouth is a damn lie, but you’d never be able to tell. It’s not that she needs to lie, but she does enjoy it and once she gets going she may never stop. The thing about Ruby though? She doesn’t stumble. If she tells you something, she remembers. Months could pass and she would still be able to tell you all about the time she rescued a baby fox from the Chicago River with the same amount of detail. Just don’t hold your breath when she tells you you’re the one for her- you know, when her career settles down and she can stay in the one place.

Impulsive - One thing Ruby hates more than anything else is boredom. The second she starts to feel that itch she’ll be bouncing around the room until she finds something to do. She loves fun and she adores adventure and she’s certainly not one to turn down anything that involves either of these things. Ruby doesn’t need time to think about anything. If she wants to to something, what’s the point in delaying it? The way she sees it, if she doesn’t want to do something, she’ll know in the first five seconds. She doesn’t want to live her life with regret.

Vindictive - Ruby is a nice enough girl. She plasters a smile on her face, she laughs, she flirts; she doesn’t start her day wanting to ruin others’. But if you cross her… Ruby is unforgiving, ruthless, and vengeful. Think of her as a living, breathing Mark of Cain; whatever you do to her will come back on you sevenfold. She can be bitter, and hurtful, and knows just how to trigger a reaction from others. Her words are laced with a poison specific to you and she will go for your throat when challenged. That being said, if she ever feels like she’s done enough, like you’ve paid for your crime against her, she’s actually incredible at letting things go. You did your time, she’s not going to let you be a dark storm cloud over her life forever.

4.47pm, the weather was a little wet after a heavy rain. I was sitting down in front of my computer, very concentrated, with a headset on and a cup of warm coffee at hand. My co-worker was busy doing his work and some busy noise at the back. Then I heard someone saying hello. In that very second, between denial and surprised, I tried my best to look ignorant as was busy with my headset. My co-worker greeted him. And I know I cannot pretend and must say hello as I will do to anybody else. I turn around and say “Ah, hello! How are you?!” In my heart, there’s a big “WHY?” But my face, I believe is “oh hello, nice meeting you fella” kinda face. This is very complicated. Because I cannot show being too glad nor too ignorant. But that actually makes it unnatural. Because if that was somebody else, I would show my friendly and “Happy to see you again!” kinda face. But if I show that kinda face, that would probably deliver something else. After a shake of hand, I turn around and pretend to concentrate back at my work, but in fact, i was busy controlling my heartbeat while talking to myself, “Calm down, don’t expect too much, he’s nobody for you.” Then they were both gone to the other room, I can go back to the state where I was before. Some minutes has passed. Oh, damn! My time is over! Now, that I am scheduled to manage the documents, I have to come to that room, join them in their conversation. I couldn’t imagine how should I behave. Now, I am making some scene that possibly could happen and prepared myself so I could behave properly. I alway do that, imagining something and evaluate what best to behave and best mental state that I need to set. Okay, think that I am quite prepared with some scene in mind to equip me, I am going to that room. They are there, laughing at something he said. But I don’t follow! And I feel too awkward to look him in the face and conversing. Okay, just do my work. I took my pen and write, concentrate on my work. Ah! I better go downstair, take something to kill time and run away from these people. After a few minutes, I come back to the room. They were talking and laughing and I followed sometimes, laugh together, adds something to merry the conversation. One hour passed and now my two co-workers are scheduled with something else and need to leave the room. He excused us to go somewhere. My co-workers left me and I am in the room by myself. I really hope he will not come back until at least my co worker back. But not so long, he’s back! Damn! “Eh, where’s the rest?” “Oh yeah, Ms. Liana is meeting Ms. Sue downstair. Mr. Sandy probably in the other room.” I say, just look a little bit at him and preparing my works. He’s standing there. “Oh. Okay.” Then he’s going. Yeah I can guess that. He won’t stay long in this room, just two of us. That’s too awkward to happen. But then, I heard he’s going to other room where my other co-worker, Ms. Chintia, is. I don’t know what they are talking about, but now, Ms. Chintia and him are coming. Ms. Chintia is scheduled to do some work in the other room, but now, she’s sitting here, three of us. Well, because of her, we are starting to have a conversation. I’m sitting, Ms. Chintia is also sitting, and he’s standing in between. Thanks to Ms. Chintia, I can talk normally, make some jokes and laugh. But I know Ms. Chintia is actually has something to do and she feels uncomfortable to sit and talk with us. I can see from her body language she’s waiting for a right time to stop the conversation and excuse us to continue her work. And yeah, she does. “Hmm… I need to go back to work… I’m sorry…” then she left, leaving me only with him. There’s some silence for a few seconds… “Haah… Been quite a long time since my last time came here…” “Yeahh.. 1 month? 2 months?” “Yeah 2 months.” “Missed it already?” I laugh. What a classic conversation. But, that means it has been two months since we last talked and he stopped visiting this place. I know he’s awkward but, at least, I tried my best not to condition my mind in awkward state. That would probably help the way I behave. “Well, hahaha, not yet.” Then the conversation stopped. I don’t know what to say. I hate classic conversation. At least not with the one that knows this is just a classic conversation. And I think he won’t like it too. So I decided to just back on my work. He sit for a while then he stand. “Okay, I’ll be going down. Bye.” “Okay, bye.” He won’t going upstair. One hour has passed. My other co-worker is coming back. But he remains downstair. I wonder if he will wait until we finish. Will he ask me where am I going? Will he offer himself to drive me home? Does he come here because he wants to say something to me? Is it because of me? Fifteen minutes before we finish work, a call from downstair is ringing. I got it. It’s him. “Who’s there?” “It’s me, Ella.” “Oh, Ms. Ella, can you tell the others, I am going home? Thank you for today and see you later.” “Oh, you’re going. Okay, I’ll tell them. Ah, wait!” I pass it to Mr. Sandy. They are saying goodbye and so do I. He’s not waiting for me. I’m not the reason he’s coming. I go downstair and ready to go home. I’m not the reason but I couldn’t help myself being happier, at least, a little bit than i was before. I took a motorcycle and hoping he’s somewhere across the street looking at me. I went down from a motorcycle and hoping he’s somewhere across the street waiting for me. I go inside the market and hoping he knows where I live and knows that I always pass this market and is actually waiting for me. I am passing the fruits aisle with some smile on my face, and imagining he’s coming here and say hi to me. “Eh Ms. Ella.” “Eh! Mr. Danny! You’re here!” “Haha yeah. Buy some fruits too. What are you buying?” “Well, just some apples and spinach for tomorrow.” I smile. “Haha. Do you always cook by yourself?” “Hahaha, just a simple one. What I mean by simple is, literally very simple. I paid my groceries and walked home. I know he’s not someone special for me and I have no feeling for him. But seeing him today gives me some sparks. I am waiting for him going upstair. 6'1 , 25 y/o male, spent the majority of the past 4 years dropping from 430lbs to a current 198lbs. The weight loss has left me with large amounts of sagging skin on my inner thighs, pelvis, abdomen, chest and upper arms. Cardio actually seeems to make the issue worse as I lose even more weight. I've also begun to notice that the more the skin sags around my torso, the more my lower back hurts.
