While TDs are a legitimate threat to the society and environment, the fact that Jianxin is fond of animals ( as a former wild child ) makes it hard for her to fight against certain TDs that take animal-like forms, such as the Dreadmanes, Hoartoises, Chirpuffs, Gulpuffs, Excarats, the Hoohoo apes and recently the Dwarf Cassowaries.
#☯︎ — 𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. ( jianxin )#i guess some like spearbacks and feilian beringal legitimately scare her#and there's the mutant herons...#but those listed are shaped like friends...

some of houyi's major plot points include bursts of memories from <13 that he isn't sure belong to him as he remains uncertain if he's own original, or whether they're a flaw in his coding, a merge with what he once was as opposed to what he is now. another is that the ministry want paul verlaine brought to them just rly as an excuse for them to interact in yokohama. really what i want to do with him is explore the puppet and puppeteer dynamic, and part of that is he is both the puppet and the puppeteer and has always had the defiant mind to disconnect himself from the ministry and forge his own path - and to do that he will manipulate junfeng into finding a solution for him to live without needing constant modification
#removed from bsd canon houyi is just the host of the god of wind from various experimentations. same rules apply really that he isnt sure#if he's his own original being or if he's one of a few clones (the rest failed or died during implementation of feilian)#so it rly is cool to be able to remove him from 'canon' which is just where i placed him to garner more interaction BUUUUT i would also lik#to explore him outside of it. as i say. he's just a boy with a god in his body outside of bsd but it follows the same rules for activation#and thus the sealing im not afraid to rip it from bsd in that regard bcs i dont want to sit and calculate more ways in which for it to work

Felt like taking a couple pictures of Airglow since she's been kind of neglected.
And as a last pride month tidbit, Airglow is my resident aro/ace. This works just fine for her, as the schedule of a traveling merchant is very busy

Jiyan Guide - Full.
Section 1: Special abilities
When casting his skill, he uses a spear to dart forward, dealing damage to the enemies.
You can also use his skill in the air by jumping > skill > basic attack
You can release during his charged attack.
If you hold his charged attack, he will jump in the air and you can use basic attack to cause him to plunge down.
He has two ults. The first one is when you have low resolve. You will press his ult while he is on the ground and use basic attack repeatedly until the ult runs out.
His second ult can be casted when he has full resolve. You will want to jump in the air for this ult, then repeatedly do basic attacks until the ult runs out.
Section 2: Skills priorities
You will want to prioritize his resonance liberation, or his ult as this is where a majority of his damage comes from.
Forte Circuit
Resonance Skill
Intro Skill
Basic Attack
His resonance liberation and his forte circuit should be prioritized first, followed by the resonance skill. His intro skill and basic attack can be leveled up, but they do not make much of a difference in his gameplay.
Section 3: Rotation
First, use his resonance skill.
After activiating his skill, use his echo (which should be the Fellain Beringal)
Switch to one of the sub-dps, such as Mortefi and charge up that character's concerto energy.
After that character has full concerto energy, switch to Jiyan and he will perform his intro skill.
Use his resonance liberation/ult
Repeatedly do basic attacks until the ult is over.
Perform his outro skill by switching to the next character.
Repeat.
Section 4: Recommended sequences
While Jiyan is good at S0, having sequences for him can greatly improve his gameplay. However, his best sequences are 3, 5, and 6, so not very F2P friendly.
His 3rd sequence, Spectation, increases his crit rate and crit damage by 32% for 8s when he casts his intro skill, his resonance skill, or either of his ults.
His 5th sequence, Resoluton, increases the damage multiplier of his outro skill. When he hits an enemy target, his attack is increased by 3% for 8s and can be stacked up to 15 times.
His 6th sequence, Fortitude, basically gives him momentum that his high resolve ult consumes, dealing 120% more damage.
Section 5: Echo build
His best echo build is Sierra Gale x5 for extra aero damage bonus. His main echo should be Feilian Beringal. However, if you do not have a suitable option, he can also work with cyan-feather heron and hoochief.
His cost 4 echo should have a crit main stat (either one is fine, but crit rate is better if you don't have his main weapon)
His cost 3 echo should have aero damage bonus.
His cost 1 echoes should focus on atk%.
His substats should be prioritized by crit stats -> atk% -> heavy atk% damage -> energy recharge -> flat atk
Section 6: Weapons
Verdant Summit (his signature)
Ages of Harvest (Jinhsi signature)
Lustrous Razor (can be obtained from the level 45 weapon box)
Autumntrace (4 star)
Helios Cleaver (4 star)
Section 7: Teams
Jiyan -> Mortefi -> Verina
Jiyan -> Mortefi -> Baizhi
Jiyan -> Sanhua -> Baizhi
Jiyan -> Aalto -> Verina

hello! may i ask for advice how to build calcharo and aalto? tysm!
ofc! as always a lot of this is STC, subjective, and i'm always open to editing in any differing information from others
this one'll be a bit long so i'll put the whole thing under a read more ^^
additionally, let me know if i should create a tag for these posts? or if i should be putting them in the main tags (wuwa tags and char tags)?
sources used:
wuthering.gg (most info) | prydwen.gg (echo set effects)
CALCHARO
BASIC NOTION - calcharo is a main DPS (eating up a lot of field time). his kit largely revolves around comboing his skill and heavy attacks (HA), though his resonance liberation also buffs his basic attacks (BA)
as a DPS, calcharo will want attack, both crits, electro damage bonus, and potentially a little energy regen
TEAMMATES - he pairs well with yinlin, whose outro skill will buff electro DMG for the next resonator by +20% for 14 sec or until swapping again
(she also buffs resonance lib. dmg but this only affects his initial burst on lib.)
he can also pair well with mortefi, as his outro buffs heavy attack damage by +38% for the same above conditional duration
-
WEAPON CHOICES
5* - Verdant Summit [CRIT DMG]. (limited - Jiyan's signature) resonance DMG (skill + lib.) up by +12%. when either is cast, HA DMG is increased by +24% up to 2x, for up to 14 seconds.
4* - choose what applies best for you out of Autumntrace [CRIT RATE] and Helios Cleaver [ATK%] -> the former buffs ATK by 10% after BA or HA, up to 3x, for up to 10 sec -> the latter buffs ATK by 3% every 2 sec over 12 sec (6x) up to 4x.
3* - Guardian Broadblade [ATK%]. BA and HA DMG is buffed by +12%
-
ECHO CHOICES
SET – 5-piece Electro (Electro DMG +10% + after HA or Resonance Skill, Electro DMG +15% x2 temporarily) (peak of +40% Electro DMG)
EVENT RECOMMENDATION – Violet-Feathered Heron [3] (see echo summon event post)
at maximum terminal level, 12 cost points can be invested into echoes over 5 slots. your ideal setup may be:
4-cost – Tempest Mephis (not to be confused with Thundering Mephis; Tempest buffs HA DMG after use)
3-costs (2) – Violet-Feathered Heron and Flautist
1-costs (2) – this one is a mixed bag, but i would personally choose Vanguard Junrock, Electro Predator, and Fission Junrock
feel free to also check out sidneymar's guide for calcharo for other opinions! (reddit with image | video)
AALTO
BASIC NOTION - aalto is a DPS (likely sub DPS) that largely utilizes creating mist on certain basic attacks (BA's) and skill. when this mist is shot through, it deals extra DMG
as a DPS, aalto wants attack, both crits, and aero DMG. however, if you desire to play him as a main DPS, you will likely need to invest in energy regen as his resonance liberation has a higher energy cost than most other characters (150 vs 125)
TEAMMATES - he may benefit from taoqi, whose outro skill buffs skill DMG +38% for 14 seconds or until swap. otherwise, he works great as a buffer for other aero characters, being the one to give an aero buff on outro!
-
WEAPON CHOICES
5* - Static Mist [CRIT RATE]. (only 5* pistol as of 1.0) this buffs his utility as a sub DPS for other units, as using an outro skill will buff the ATK of the party by 10% for a short while. also comes with 12.8% energy regen
4* - all have their perks! choose what suits you best out of Cadenza [ENERGY REGEN], Undying Flame [ATK%], Novaburst [ATK%], and Thunderbolt [ATK%].
3* - choose from Guardian Pistols [ATK%] or Pistols of Night [ATK%]
-
ECHO CHOICES
SET – 5-piece Aero (Aero DMG +10% + after Intro Skill, Aero DMG +30% temporarily) (peak of +40% Aero DMG)
note that, if attempting to make him largely stay on the field / main DPS, 2pc Aero / 2 pc Attack is fine, but not covered here
EVENT RECOMMENDATION – Chaserazor (may be called Carapace) [3] (see echo summon event post)
at maximum terminal level, 12 cost points can be invested into echoes over 5 slots. your ideal setup may be:
4-cost – Feilian Beringal
3-costs (2) – choose from Cyan-Feathered Heron, Hoochief, and Chaserazor (Carapace)
1-costs (2) – Whiff Whaff, Hooscamp Flinger, and Chirpuff

what's youre favourite echo to use?
Jiyan pondered for a bit. "While I most often use the echo of Feilian Beringal because of it being the most compatible with my resonant frequency, I simply enjoy using the Cyan feathered Heron." He then crosses his arms and mumbles. "I wish I could use a cool echo like the inferno rider, but it's power is most suitable to someone like Mortefi."

QU YUAN, HOUYI . SINGULARITY : THE BEAST FĒILIÁN.
ability-derived life-form created in a lab in guangzhou, china. gravity manipulator and host of the singularity beast, feilian. keeper of balance under the guidance of the ministry. he/him. 25. 5ft9inches.
⁽ ¹ ⁾ fēilián ( 飛廉 ) : god of the wind, a winged dragon with the head of a deer and the tail of a snake. from the southern tradition, first attested in the influential poem li sao by qu yuan, wherein feilian assists the poet in part of their mystical journey. in later readings feilian is known as the wind deity fengbo, who carries the wind with him in a bag and causes trouble. fengbo in this reading is kept in check by houyi ( 后羿 ), the heavenly archer.
⁽ ² ⁾ in keeping with the theme that two other ability-derived beings we know of in this world, chuuya and verlaine are both gravity manipulators, the idea goes that in cloning individuals and installing within them their unique singularity beast, gravity manipulation is the easiest ability to replicate into their written code and implement into different bodies, and perhaps the easiest for said clones to adapt to. though it is still not the only possibility.
⸺ HOUYI . hòu ( 后 , monarch ) yì ( 羿, a character unique to the name within the mythos )
houyi is male, 25. standing at 5ft9inches, with long black hair that he keeps tied into a ponytail with parted bangs and framing pieces. he possesses a beauty mark on the left side of his nose on the bridge of it, and has blue eyes. he is easily humoured with a natural curiosity for the world around him, mimics other's habits in an attempt to find ones he likes. he does not easily feel morally connotated emotions such as sadness, guilt and grief, but is hot-headed and scathing on opportunity.
houyi is an ability-derived life-form created by a chinese scientist under the name of nüwa within a lab in guangzhou, china. subject to his creation he was firstly known simply as no.14 before he named himself houyi upon venturing out into the world under the guidance of the ministry.
the ministry exist as an elite selection of china's best researchers and military personnel. within its science division nüwa and her team were tasked with researching cloning and the implementation of singularity beasts within such individuals, similar to the scientific advancements in both japan and france.
similar to the hunting dogs, houyi is used by the ministry to keep balance within society and heads a team of operatives alongside his partner, who was created within the same laboratory. this means taking out corrupt officials under order and investigating those of criminal interest. the field of scope for this is worldwide. similarly still to paul verlaine, houyi also assassinates those named on his roster, without much regard for their morality or standing. a sort of not my job kind of agreement. though it is mostly limited to those with significant criminal interest or intent. houyi and his team are also responsible for sourcing subjects.
houyi is aware that he is not his own original being. five years ago, upon learning this fact from nüwa, houyi went on a blind rampage and destroyed the machinery keeping qu yuan, his “original” alive and thus killing him. nüwa delivered that information to him to see how he would react and to measure the consequences of his emotions. since that day, houyi, in a deranged sense of individuality and self, claims himself as his own original as there is no other, despite the property tag that sits inked into his skin at the bottom of his ribcage and his lack of memory before the age of 13.
houyi is an exploration of human emotion and action. often he doesn't understand and questions if the things he does are on impulse, or because he's been told he should feel a certain way, do a certain thing in the marrow of his genetic coding. things like anger, sadness, love, he's unsure if he's truly capable of feeling them if they are emotions which can be so easily rewritten or dialled back by removing a few lines of his coded make-up. he's a study on morality and the call to action, he wonders if, without being what he is, what exactly he would amount to if he truly was his original self.
before engaging in any type of confrontation, he has the habit of rolling his cuff sleeves up twice. he “smokes”, which is to say that he lights cigarettes and holds them between his fingers, because it's something he's seen so many others do. a “human” thing.
GRAVITY MANIPULATION & THE SINGULARITY BEAST FEILIAN.
in line with other ability-derived beings, to call upon his singularity beast and open his gate houyi must recite the following, an excerpt from li sao, “ encountering sorrow ”.
the world is dark, and envious of my grace; they veil my virtue and the evil blessing. thy chamber dark lies in recesses deep, sagacious prince, risest thou not from slumber? my zeal unknown the prince would not descry; how could i bear this harsh eternity?
like chuuya and verlaine, houyi possesses a base status if opening his gate that he refers to as eternity, taken directly from the excerpt he must speak from to activate it. in this state he can tap into feilian's singular abilities, but he is unconscious and therefore does not possess the ability to think through his actions, and acts mindlessly on situational dependence. in this state, lighter green tendrils form over his skin, though somewhat liquid in their form, rounded at the edges and ever-flowing and changing in their shape and direction.
once houyi opens his gate completely and not at its basis stage of eternity, the singularity beast feilian manifests as a large chimeric being of deep green, a dragon with the head of a deer and the tail of a snake, it is not made of physical matter and does not possess organs at which to strike, but houyi exists at its core, and can be seen within its translucent “skin”. inside of feilian, houyi remains an unconscious host, being that he is designed to contain feilian and not to control it.
in line with houyi's gravity manipulation, when manifested feilian holds the ability to create gravitational spheres and annihilate terrain until nothing exists within its path. as the god of wind, feilian can create razor-sharp currents of air, explosions of hyper-pressurised air, and emit a sonic scream by manipulating sound waves, amongst other abilities. as feilian does not possess a voice of its own as an intangible being, if it speaks it has houyi's voice, though it is a distorted mimicry.
feilian as a singularity beast possesses the innate need and want for freedom and despises being held captive, and so upon release will do anything in its power to stay outside of houyi's body, though it does not want to kill its host, as it will cease to exist.
unlike other ability-derived beings such as paul verlaine, houyi does not have the sequence implemented that he needs to be touched in order to close his gate. instead, each of the operatives under his command are entrusted with a special bullet made from scientifically converted metals that when fired into the centre of feilian's organless form, thus hitting houyi, will implement a termination sequence and close his gate, sealing feilian back inside his body. alternatively, and only within his base status he need only hear the words, but swift was the sun and it soon would be dusk, a single line from encountering sorrow that will return him to his normal state.
within the nature of his role under the guidance of the ministry, houyi and his counterpart are implemented with a coded sequence in which their bodies will start to naturally decay without a back-up sequence, that can be accessed remotely both at the lab and outside of it via a modified computer. as such, houyi and his counterpart have a third, essential associate junfeng whom, if they are not close to the lab, can implement this code for them to keep them stable. that is their only role within the team. this must be done every two months, and without it their bodies will wither from the inside slowly and painfully, a consequence of possible, true individuality and betrayal.

Fic prompt: Sabine got akumatized into Qilin again but this time she has a sentimonster as her sidekick and its name is Feilian, a giant virdian winged Chinese dragon with the head of a deer and the tail of a snake who can controls the storms
Emil was taking a big risk using the Peacock again. The last time he used it, he damaged it and gave himself a heart attack, but he was desperate. And perhaps it would be worth it. After all, Qilin and her winged dragon, Feilian, seemed to be doing well.
Meanwhile, Ladybug was grappling with Qilin while Chat wrestled with her dragon.
"Mrs. Cheng, please!" said Ladybug. "You're better than this!"
"Those wretched bullies made my daughter cry! They must pay!" said Qilin, trying to know the heroine down.
Ladybug pushed back. "Mrs. Cheng, you don't have to go on the warpath every time your daughter gets her feelings hurt. Marinette will be fine. She doesn't need a warrior to shed blood for her... She just needs her mama."
Qilin froze. Ladybug was right. Marinette needed comfort, not conflict. She ceased her fighting and summoned Feilian.
"I surrender."
"WHAT?!" said Hawkmoth. "How dare you?! I order you to..."
"Don't you take that tone with me, mister," said Qilin before taking off her akumatized brooch and smashing it. "The deal is off!"
"FEILIAN! DESTROY THEM ALL!" Hawkmoth said.
But before the dragon could, however...
"CATACLSYM!"
The beast crumbled to pieces, revealing its Amok to be nothing more than a jade dragon, which Chat was quick to break. Once that was done, Ladybug quickly purified the Akuma and the Amok, took the broken brooch, and tossed it into the air.
"MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!"
Later...
"Are you sure you're okay, dumpling?" Sabine asked.
"I am now, mama," said Marinette. "Thanks."
"Just remember, sweetie, you're not too old to come to your mama when you need a shoulder to cry on."
Warmth and comfort radiated from the mother/daughter duo as they hugged. It was so strong that Adrien and his mother hugged too.
Meanwhile, in the dark, desolate shadows of his lair, Hawkmoth could be heard having a coughing fit.
"I... *cough* *cough* will get those Miraculouses! *cough* *cough* If it's the last thing I do!!!"
