Like, he doesn’t even think, he just does it and we all know flattery works with Eddie. Eddie, half in control and half not, just melts into the praise as Steve starts petting his hair and letting his mouth run away with him. “No really, you probably hear this a lot from your food, but uh, you got one hell of a smile-“

And Eddie just grins against his throat, that otherworldly purr rumbling in his throat as he gets distracted by all the attention. “Just you, Sweetheart. I usually don’t let ‘em live this long~”
