first of all, i’m flattered that you reached out to me— i just do this for fun so it’s interesting to know people care about the logistics/behind the scenes. thanks for sending this in!!

i don’t wanna ramble too much so here it is laid out for y’all 💗

pros: i get to talk to you all‼️, interactions with the community are *chefs kiss*, getting into the mind of a certain character is VERY fun, and much more i can’t quite think of at the moment 🤭

some cons (all personal problems lol): i tend to stress about not posting enough, i fear disappointing people, struggles with time management, sometimes asks are … difficult … to answer

advice: starting your own ask blog can be kinda daunting, but it’s good to remember that people will just happy you're entertaining them— so take it easy on yourself and have fun! make funny scenarios outside the canon, engage with the community, or make it interactive by asking questions. the good thing is that it’s up to you what you wanna do :-)

Alright I’ve been meaning to post these kids FOREVERRR and I’m just gonna do it now!!! Pls… have this little sunrise trio: Lux, Seraphine (Sera), and Cosmo! I love Lux a ton btw, and I always wanted to include her with any other Cream ship kids I made. I’ll put more rambles beneath the cut.

These kids aren’t tied to the cream comic btw, prolly goes without saying, but yeah. Their timeline follows this post-underverse storyline idea I have (the New Days tag, tho there isnt much there rn). Per ~the lore~, they are half elemental and half monster. The family is based out of a restored Xtale, in a house the king and queen gifted Cross and Dream for their wedding uwu

Lux (19, she/they)— The oldest daughter of Cross and Dream. She’s level-headed and relaxed, but still has a bit of cheekiness and mischief to her. A bit of a diplomat at heart, she currently has a small intern gig at the castle where she works as a liason for monsterkind, and doesn’t mind the thought of one day doing similar work in the multiverse for Xtale. She’s extremely studious and loves reading; even now she likes to spend the evening curled up to couch with a book, next to one of her dads. She’s got a serious knack for monster magic, and leans on it the most during sparring sessions. Her emotion abilities relate to feelings of calm and relaxation/rejuvination.

Seraphine (Sera) (16, she/her)— The spitfyre, the yapper, the forthright, Sera is athletic and very passionate. She has her dads’ strong senses of justice and fairness, as well as their stubbornness, and from a young age picked fights with bullies and authority alike. I’m not saying XUndyne has tossed a baby, but I’m also not saying XUndyne hasn’t tossed a baby. She never quite got a grasp on the diplomacy her older sister and Papa (Dream) have, but she does her best, and is a genuinely sunny and kind soul to be around. (It’s fine she’s 16 she’ll figure it out eventually). Her main mode of sparring is in swordplay, which she seriously began learning around 11. Her emotion abilities relate to feelings of justice.

Cosmo (10, he/him)— The youngest of the three, and the only son. Cosmo is very sweet and shy, and tends to be reserved in the kinds of activities he takes part in. He’s not the biggest fan of school, and really dislikes sparring, so Cross and Dream don’t force him too much. He looks up to his sisters and adores them, and it goes without saying that they spoil and baby him quite a bit. He likes spending his time in nature, and likes to keep a field journal with doodles and notes on his finds. All that said, he’s the most in tune with his elemetal powers, and already is a much stronger empath than Lux, a big reason for his overstimulation in social situations. His emotion abilities relate to inspiring hope in others.

HEHEHE WELL IF YOU INSIST- Okay but no legitimately I have like, 27 stories I work on with varying degrees of frequency, probably 5ish that I consider "Major Projects" in that I come back to work on them often and there's a ton for me to talk about. I've shared bits and pieces over the years over at @telebeast, my main art blog, but I've gotten increasingly apprehensive about showing off messy or WIP works over there. I'll use this moment though to ramble about one of my most Beloved homegrown blorbos!

It would be impossible for me to NOT talk about Murphy Nye. She's a character who went from a little idea to a favorite in record time during the autumn of 2022. She's a conspiracy theorist, OBSESSED with finding proof of aliens. Over time, she's made herself more and more paranoid about others interfering with her search, to the point where she spends most her time in seclusion, digging up evidence and watching the skies. She's blunt, loud, and extremely high strung. I intentionally wanted her to embody tropes often seen in male characters, but almost never in female ones (Though, if you asked her her gender, she'd probably just respond with "What are you, a cop?"). Her story is a tug of war between isolation and connection, her journey towards finding her people. Oh yeah, and her encounter with a real life alien. If any of that sounds interesting, I highly recommend giving @evidence-of-the-unknown a look. It's my webcomic telling her story! Great for folks looking for queer science fiction with a focus on characters and over-developed worldbuilding. And if anyone has more specific questions about her, I'd be happy to answer them! (though, some things may be spoilers >:3)

it's interesting you read it as kendall trying to comfort roman! to me, it did read as cutting, like ken going logan mode and saying what logan would've said in that situation to roman. but following it up with "it's ok" is very kendall, not logan. hm i don't think i fully agree with your take but i see it! also kendall immediately standing up for rome with mencken... he is such a big brother

I think a lot of people read it as cutting or Logan-esque, anon! Which I find pretty fascinating because I can't really see Logan as ever saying something like you fucked it, it's okay, look, it happens, especially not with a level tone of voice, haha.

I don't know, the fact that it echoed exactly what Roman said to him in 3.09 felt really pointed to me, and the fact that Kendall circled back around to making it about him needing Roman still, while self-serving, sure, also felt like the exact sort of comfort that Kendall himself usually clings to (after all, if Dad didn't need him, he wouldn't know what he'd be for).

I do think there was probably other feelings at play too - the show's never dealt in pure comfort after all, and there was, I imagine, a degree of relief at Roman crumbling in front of Mencken when Kendall was rattled by their closeness in the last episode. I also feel like it kind of echoed in some ways Kendall's handling of Sophie this season. While the circumstances are, of course, very different, it feels to me like a reflection of Kendall's broken social skills and his difficulties with relating to people with any sort of emotional honesty.

I mentioned in a reply a while ago that I think one of the biggest differences between Roman and Kendall is that Roman can be honest without being vulnerable, and Kendall can be vulnerable without being honest, and the ways that tends to inform their relationships with others. This season, I think, has in many ways doubled down on that, and especially as Kendall seems to be incapable of meeting either his daughter, Rava, Roman or (albeit to a lesser extent) Shiv, where they need him to meet them. Instead, he sifts through his own experiences and finds moments that gave him a modicum of comfort and tries to mirror them back at people in a way that doesn't work. He tries to keep Sophie tucked away and then buries her in security like his father did to him after Shiv's wedding, he tries to hug Shiv like she hugged him at his lowest, and now he parrots Roman's own comforts back at him too.

I don't think it's malicious, I just think it's another way a life of abuse has manifested in these four children. They were raised without empathy, so the ways they try to show it are mangled and sometimes cruel. It's just all that they know how to do.
