Felicia “Fe” Montes è un’artista Xicana molto attiva nella lotta per l’emancipazione delle donne indigene.

Utilizza l’arte come strumento educativo e sociale. È una delle più eminenti rappresentanti dell’attivismo di nuova generazione che recrimina il proprio spazio culturale utilizzando tecniche contemporanee per far sopravvivere la tradizione e la dignità di popolazioni native che rischiano di scomparire.

Ha contribuito a fondare e dirigere i collettivi artistici femminili, Mujeres de Maiz, In Lak Ech e il mercato online per il movimento, Urban Xic.

I suoi lavori fanno parte della collezione permanente del Los Angeles County Museum of Art. La documentazione delle sue performance viene conservata nell’archivio del Woman’s Building, LA.

Nata il 29 novembre 1975, vive e lavora a Los Angeles. Si è laureata in belle arti all’UCLA con master al CSUN e all’Otis College of Art & Design.

Attiva in prima linea per le rivendicazioni femminili delle popolazioni native, crea opere che aspirano al cambiamento sociale e spirituale.

Un suo saggio è contenuto nel libro Rushing Waters, Rising Dreams e in un’antologia di Third Woman Press.

Ha inciso un album di floetry e hip-hop e creato una linea d’abbigliamento che porta il suo nome, FE. Utilizza ogni mezzo artistico e sociale per sensibilizzare e creare consapevolezza nelle donne delle popolazioni native.

Ogni suo lavoro, multimediale, performance o installazione, si concentra su mobilità, genere, cultura e rituali ed è sempre basato sul senso di comunità.

Ha insegnato nelle scuole pubbliche di Los Angeles e tenuto corsi di studi Xicana presso l’UC Santa Barbara e l’East Los Angeles College. È anche docente e oratrice in varie università tra cui la UCLA, UT San Antonio, UC Davis e altre.

Studia e pratica la medicina tradizionale messicana e azteca/messicana, oltre danze, canti e tradizioni indigene.

È anche una facilitatrice qualificata di circoli di conversazione e co-formatrice per la rete nazionale Compadres.

Thanks to Curieously for finding this beautiful Santa Fe style home. It was built in 1966 in Sonora, CA. 4bds, 5ba, asking $1.05M.

The entrance hall has closets with original doors and a log beamed ceiling. Love the wall niche, too.

Lovely, cozy, bright living room with an unusually sculpted fireplace.

Between the kitchen and living room there's a dining area.

What I love about the kitchen is the cabinet stain. I love colored wood stain. You can see the knots in the knotty pine thru the transparent green. The cook top is original and the exhaust hood was sculpted into the ceiling. It looks like the tile counters may have been replaced.

This bedroom has an alcove-like area.

There's also a nicely refreshed 3pc. bath.

The primary bedroom has beautiful columns that could be an alcove, plus a ceiling with 2 skylights. There are also built-in shelves and an en-suite.

En-suite has an unusual feature- the tub has an ached entrance with two columns.

A small family room has a wine fridge and corner fireplace.

Patio with a pergola and colorful tile water feature.

There's also a lovely big fireplace.

And look at the wonderful guest house. Look at how cute it is. The fireplace with a niche and shelve, the little closet, and the open niche above the doorway are such adorable touches.

There's a kitchenette in the corner.

A very nice vintage bath.

And, in the living room, across from the fireplace, is a sleeping alcove.

Such a pretty property and it's on a .25 acre plot.

The reveal that Salieri was among the Fes costume line up was hilarious so many people were saying "Okay Jalter!! Du Haine these traitors!!" and also "Come back and enjoy the fes with us Jalter! Bill all your expenses to that stargazing yukata ojisan over there!"

This was truly Avenger class summer (marie alter was also included)

Light reading was absolutely phenomenal - the lines delivered by sakamoto maaya and nobunaga shimazaki in Expo Live were amazing in Id chapter portion!!!!!!

Official ID chapter MAD was insane it 1000% showed that the song was truly the feelings of the Avenger class from the bottom of their heart especially with dantes at the last few lines / the "noise" part too was freaking Salieri's i knew it!!!!!!

Paradis Chateau d'If was said to be insanely sweetly flavor that was strong. The grape is seems to be more jam than jelly. The bottom part was said to be peach syrup itself (but also mixed with some grape). The silver pearls sprinkles are called silver dragees that make it really fancy! It was also really thick that even when the ice melts, it won't thin out or get diluted at all.

One Piece Chapter 1114 - Initial Thoughts

TCB uploaded on a Thursday for the first time in yonks, but it had to be midway through my trip back from work

but anyway, GLOBAL WARMING! Vegapunk is pouring the tea, the world is sinking, so what more does he have to say and how will the world react?

Yamato's pilgrimage involves taking the long way around Wano to bring Yasuie's sword to the Enma shrine (the god of the underworld not Zoro's sword)

We'll likely encounter a bunch of characters on the trek but it surprises me that he's bringing back Yasuie's sword and not Shusui to Ryuma's grave. Either are still fine but I feel like that had more narrative significance, though if that was the task then Zoro wouldn't have been able to visit his grave off-screen - which should've very much been on-screen!

You know the tea is spilling when the chapter title is 'The wings of Icarus'

Naturally, the world takes in the revelation we left off on

The Navy reacts first, the Vice Admirals in disbelief but Akainu silent

Mock Town of all places is next, filled with nonbelievers of dreams, they mock the smartest man on the planet and deem themselves wise

Water Seven are shocked too, finding it difficult to believe that it's the whole world and not just them

Paulie and Pepe Lulu cameo too (love Franky but in another life I would've liked to have seen Paulie as a Straw Hat, would've been a perfect foil for Sanji too since he's a bashful perv, plus Nami would totally abuse how bad he is with gambling)

Doflamingo of course is revelling in the news, mocking Magellan about how this affects Impel Down

It's so surreal to me how we all know that Doflamingo is a menace, his debut literally involved him pitting marines against one another, but now he's in Impel Down he's just chilling, on his back just vibing with people like Magellan and Tsuru

It seems the Mother Flame's flooding did cause some problems for Impel Down

Doffy predicts that it'll take 5 more meters for most of the world to be flooded

He also implies evacuating 'somewhere high up' - like the Red Line maybe?

Fishman Island also reacts to the news, like everyone else they find it hard to believe

Back at Egghead though, the Buster Call don't care if it's valid, it's coming from Vegapunk so it holds weight but either way it's bringing unrest and discourse

The Gorosei meanwhile are livid, even considering going scorched earth to stop it

York is also annoyed, suck on it

Vegapunk makes a prediction, accurately pointing out the weather effects of Lulusia being wiped out

That for sure has got people more convinced, given how it's pre-recorded

Surprise Smoothie and Mont D'or cameos too!

And another already flooded island is surprised how much to a tee Vegapunk got the prediction right

Damn even Tonjit from Long Ring Long Land is getting a cameo!

Aokiji bandaged up also listens from Fullalead

Vegapunk also calls out that the earthquakes were not natural, which really sets the Gorosei off

The Straw Hats continue to fend off Saturn to protect Robin, with Lilith also in on the fight

Most of them get knocked away though, being caught by Robin's Spider Web

Saturn does still appear to be showing some damage, so still props to the crew for doing the job

Because Saturn has shifted his priority from Robin, making his way to the power station to protect it

Saturn crashes in, as Vegapunk explains his obsession with finding an unlimited energy source

Back to his 'human' form, Saturn basks in the Mother Flame

I was expecting something different, but it is a tiny flame kept in a giant tank

I wonder if the S-108 and the A&Mu stand for something? The latter are not elements on the Periodic Table

Also it's a flame inside liquid, A FLAME INSIDE OF LIQUID!

The Sleeping Giant still is on the move, passing unfazed through fire and flame

Even the Giants are struggling in the flames, still in pursuit by Warcury

Luffy however is back in Gear Fifth, that fermented shark meat must've done the trick

Marejois is stirring though, because Vegapunk has just brought up the void century

Most of the Celestial Dragons are in uproar, blaming the marines and feeling big enough to take on Vegapunk to kill him themselves

Though, interestingly, Saint Shalria - Charloss' sister - seems almost intrigued, it appears not all the Celestial Dragons know about the Void Century

The benefits of having a 20+ year manga is how you can bring back so many minor characters briefly to just show the entire scale of the world that's been built

We also see Margaret from Amazon Lily, her face seems conflicted

Vegapunk however explains that his second sin was trying to decipher the Poneglyphs, using documentation gathered from Ohara

Since Luffy could hear the broadcast I'm sure Robin is hearing it too, I wonder how she feels about Vegapunk about to lore drop a bunch of Poneglyph stuff she didn't get to discover herself

Brook is also calling for Zoro and Jinbe, not sure what their status is, same with Franky, Bonney, Atlas and Sanji vs V. Nusjuro

'History is a story, after all' is a lowkey banger line

But the Labophase is behaving differently, the clouds are stretching

Edison's plan has come into action, making the clouds wider so the Sunny can drop off into the ocean

Vegapunk keeps going, stating that he only knows little about the void century, so he'll give the world some of the only facts he knows

Luffy strikes Warcury again with a Gear Fifth big punch, but the result hurts his hand all the same

Meanwhile Vegapunk details the story of a person born 900 years ago to a bountiful and advanced kingdom

Just like Nika, he had an elastic and stretchy body - which the world will very much connect to Luffy - called Joy Boy

Joy Boy was the first man to take to the seas: The First Pirate

But a break again next week, I know last week was a SJ break than an Oda break but c'mon I feel like he does this every year!

Oda sure loves to set a stage huh? What do you mean Joy Boy was the first pirate? That'd imply he's rebelling against something right? Was the advanced kingdom too restrictive maybe? So much still yet to be said

For the most part, what the characters were doing this chapter were secondary to this announcement built up, it's still cool that the Straw Hats deterred Saturn away from Robin - though we are overdue seeing Jinbe and Zoro do something of substance. Ju Peter and Mars are still kinda floating around, Doll and Bluegrass were circling the island last we saw them too. But yeah, lots of unique and surprising cameos, the mystery deepens as the plot continues somehow to thicken.

Valla No. 1: Pedir

Si pedir es lo que nos lleva a recibir, ni siquiera estamos pidiendo muy bien. F. B. Meyer lo expresó así: “La mayor tragedia de la vida no es la oración sin respuesta, sino la oración no ofrecida”. Valla No. 2: Creer

Hay una diferencia entre creerle a alguien y creer en alguien. La primera tiene que ver con la existencia. La segunda tiene que ver con el carácter y con quién es esa persona. I only did Iris and Xatu because my alternatives were Ignatz (fe3h) and Xander (fe fates) and I didn't wanna do either. Iris is also cool though so it worked out fine. I'm also not very far in the TCOMC anime but I chose to draw Valentine's anime design because I haven't seen any movies, the musical and I didn't wanna make my own design just for this.

I also did it in spring of 2021!

Most notably, 2021 had 6 aot characters due to a then recent hyperfixation, Xander who is my OC cause I didn't know any characters that started with X except Xander fe, Cyrus because this was like 2 weeks before the Caellach obsession hit like a freight train and also some PJO, Hades game and Shera characters that I don't really care for at all anymore

Durante su juventud adquirió cierta influencia del babismo un movimiento religioso que se consolidó en Persia de 1844 a 1852 y del que su padre era un miembro prominente.

Bahá Allah  padre de Abbàs Effendi, escindió el babismo en dos sectas al morir su fundador el religioso persa Bab, quien fue ejecutado en Tabriz en 1850.

Bahá Allah fue encarcelado por declararse defensor de la fé del Bab.

La aprehensión de Bahá Allah, marcó fuertemente la niñez de Abbàs y su familia, pues significó para ellos una vida condenada a la miseria y al desprecio como consecuencia. 

Durante algunos años el padre de Abbás es liberado y obligado a permanecer en el exilio y es en ese tiempo durante el año 1853 que Abbás y su padre emprenden el viaje obligado hacia Bagdad, y es durante ese viaje Abbás entra en contacto con textos babistas y el Corán.

En 1863, Bahá'u'lláh padre de Abbás es expulsado y movido a Constantinopla hoy Estambul, y mas tarde, ya como jefe segundo del bahaísmo, son expulsados a Edirne en Turquía y a Akka en la ahora Israel.

Es la gente de Akka quienes les ofrecen apoyo y les permiten rondar libremente las ciudades vecinas.

Al morir su padre, surgen conflictos con su hermano y Abbás viaja a Europa, Egipto y a los Estados Unidos para proclamar las enseñanzas de su padre e impulsar el desarrollo de las escasas comunidades que habían surgido en esas localidades.

Al adoptar el liderazgo del grupo religioso, Abbás adopta el nombre de Abdu’l-Bahá que significa “Sirviente de la Gloria”.

Abdu’l-Bahá dedicó su ministerio al avance de la Fé de su padre, y a la promoción de los ideales de paz y unidad, alentó el establecimiento de instituciones bahaís locales y guió las iniciativas educativas, sociales y económicas.

Muchas de sus conferencias fueron grabadas y publicadas en libros bajo los títulos de “la Sabiduría de Abdu’l-Bahá” y “La promulgación de La Paz universal”, mismas que sirvieron de base para la promulgación y consolidación de la comunidad mundial bahaí.

Durante la Primera Guerra Mundial Abdu’l-Bahá fue galardonado con la Orden del Imperio Británico por sus esfuerzos por disminuir la hambruna que sufría Palestina por medio de la repartición de su propio almacenamiento de grano.

En 1872, Abdu’l-Bahá se casa y tiene 5 hijos y 4 hijas de las cuales la mayor, se convertiría en la madre del futuro heredero de Abdu’l-Bahá, Shoghi Effendi.

Abdu’l-Bahá muere en noviembre de 1921, y sus restos descansan en las faldas del Monte Carmelo, en el santuario de Babi. En su testamento es en donde nombra a su nieto Shoghi Effendi como el guardian mundial de la fe Bahaí.
