You were in your room, alone, listening to music on your phone. Matt was over at your place earlier in the morning after spending the night, but he had to leave to hang out with his brothers and make a YouTube video.
He had texted you a few times, but you only noticed a couple of messages since you were preoccupied scrolling through social media or playing games while listening to The Weeknd.
You had The Weeknd songs on shuffle, as you had quite a few favorites. You didn't pay much attention to the music now and again, as you were focused on gaming and used it as background noise.
Although you were home alone, you didn't hear the front door open. Matt had keys to your place, but you were engrossed in gaming and The Weeknd playing quite loudly in your room.
Matt seemed to notice the music coming from your room, so he locked the door and took off his shoes before heading up to your bedroom. He was familiar with your place, as your home was like a second home to him.
You were quietly singing along to the lyrics, your voice barely audible as you knew the words by heart. Your eyes widened when you saw your bedroom door open, and for a moment, your breath caught in your throat before you realized it was Matt.
"Did I scare you?" he chuckled softly, his voice cutting through the music. "Maybe," you replied with a smile.
He playfully teased you before sitting down next to you, pulling you into a hug. He noticed you were gaming, but he didn't let go because he missed you, especially after being interrupted many times during the YouTube video he was filming with Chris and Nick.
"You never told me you listened to The Weeknd," he whispered, planting a kiss on your neck and resting his head on your shoulder.
"It just never came up in a conversation," you shrugged, setting aside your game and turning it off to hug him back and spend time.
"Hmm, I guess we do have similar music tastes," he whispered, looking at you before turning up the volume a bit.
As the music volume increased, he leaned his head back on your shoulder, gazing off into space. He had something on his mind, but he didn’t do anything yet.
After a moment, he turned to look at you, noticing how relaxed you appeared while listening to The Weeknd. He let out a slight chuckle before gently kissing your lips, catching you off guard with the sudden gesture. You responded by returning the kiss.
The exchange was brief and nothing more, but for Matt, it felt like a tantalizing tease. He found you captivating, like a drug he couldn't resist.
"Can I be honest with you?" he asked, prompting you to hum in response. He brushed his hair away from his face, noting that it needed a trim as it was getting close to his eyes. "I'm really turned on," he confessed.

Ever since Jules' tragic passing, Charles had felt a certain sense of protectiveness over his little sister. Everybody thought they were going to start dating, that Y/N Bianchi and Charles Leclerc were destined to be together.
Just like her brother, her life was motorsport. She wasn't a driver, that had never been her desire, but she knew everything there was to know about Formula One. She followed Charles around the world like she wanted to with her brother, supporting him like she would have Jules.
She found love at the race track, but not with Charles.
It was 2019, his rookie season when they met. She had been walking through the paddock, making her way to the Ferrari garage, when she bumped into him. In his McLaren shirt and orange hat, nineteen year old Lando Norris was adorable. It took maybe two years before he finally asked her out. They had been happy together ever since.
Something that most people forget when talking about Y/N Bianchi was her love for music. She had been playing since she was a child and it was something she had used to get through her brothers passing.
She could play several different instruments. While Jules was karting, she was practicing violin, piano, and more. But piano was her favourite of them all.
She still practiced regularly, but it was at the back of her mind as life went on.
But then lockdown happened. She and Lando had just started dating, so she was stuck at home in France, left to call him regularly. She called Charles, too, since he was like an older brother to her. As they talked he walked her around his apartment, setting her up against different surfaces as he did something.
"Charles, is that a piano?" She asked as she looked past him.
He took her closer to it, showing her the new piano he had bought over lockdown.
That was what sparked her playing again.
They didn't have much of a chance to practice together after the season started up again. They still showed each other videos they had taken of themselves playing, but they never played together.
Not until just before Lando's 24th birthday.
Actually, it was the summer break, several months before. But she liked being prepared. Lando had been so fucking excited to spend summer break with her, but she had to blow him off, told him to have fun without her.
Instead she was in Monaco with Charles. They were spending a few weeks in his apartment, writing together until they had a song. Charles had booked a studio, where they recorded together.

On the day of Lando's birthday he was woken up with a kiss, breakfast, and a good ol' shag.
"I got you something really special this year," she said as she walked in from the bathroom, using a towel to dry her hair. "Do you remember over summer break, when I stayed in Monaco with Charles?"
Lando's expression darkened. "Yeah, I remember," he grumbled. He knew the nature of her relationship with Charles, but he'd also seen what had been said about the two of them.
Sitting beside him, Y/N ran her hands through his hair. "C'mon, Lan, what's up?" She asked, pouting at him.
Lando threw his head back, exposing his throat as he groaned. "I get sent the articles of you and Charles back from before we started dating at least three times a week. And then you spent summer with him in Monaco and-"
Suddenly she put her hand over his mouth, and Lando softly bit her palm. "I was putting together your birthday present in Monaco. That's why I spent the entire summer with him," she said and pulled up her phone.
Lando sat patiently as she pulled out the song she had written for him. He listened to the piano notes she had put together, to the lyrics she had written. It was, to put it simply, beautiful. He could listen to it on repeat for the rest of his life.
"I... holy shit," he said when the song finished. "I fucking love you," He said. "That was incredible."

Time Travel AU Part: 15

“Say Michael, do you play any instruments at all?,” asked Adam as he laid on his stomach watching the angel panic as the garlic got burnt in his apparently new invention, the pan. Michael scrapped the blackened garlic off of the pan with Adam’s other new invention, the spatula, but ended up using magic to clear the pan of the burnt seasoning. 
“Oh that’s because your fire’s too hot and you put the garlic too early,” pointed out Adam casually.
The angel expressed interest in Adam’s daily routine, and had initially thought that the first man mainly ate fruits and nuts. And so, Adam had reminded Michael when he first taught him how to cook some sort of soup when he was unwell. 
‘Oh, so you ‘cook’ everyday?,” asked Michael curiously. 
“Yup. Fruits and nuts are nice, but some variety is also nice, you know?,” Adam replied as he picked vegetables and mushrooms to have for breakfast. He was planning on some nice fried eggs, but then the angel suddenly visited him so early in the morning, and that would be something he didn’t want to explain to the angel. So it was a veggie breakfast for today.  Why was Michael even visiting him this early? He liked having someone to talk to, but he swore the angel was acting more and more odd.
Michael hovered behind Adam, wings fluttering lightly as he watched him do his morning tasks. “Can I help?”
Adam remembered the disaster that was the vegetable soup and how long it took Michael to make one that was edible and mentally snorted to himself. “Sure, if you want.” Adam thought it would be funny to watch such a respected angel fail miserably at such simple tasks. 
And it was funny, at least for the first 20 minutes but the sun was almost at its highest point in the sky and Michael had restarted over four times already, and yet here was Adam with no breakfast. He didn’t realise how much of a perfectionist Michael was and was now reaping the consequences of his actions. 
“Every angel knows how to play an instrument,” answered Michael. “It’s a skill we’re all born with,” he continued as he grabbed three more cloves of garlic and minced them with such speed and finesse one would think he was a great cook.
“And what do you play?” Adam got up from his spot and walked over to Michael. It was nice to have someone cook for him, but he was starving at this point and if he were to watch and let Michael fail one more time he was definitely going to die of starvation.
Michael hesitated for a moment before answering, “Well, I can play many instruments, but the violin is my favourite...” The words died in Michael’s throat as Adam pushed close beside him and grabbed the minced garlic from the angel and tossed them into the pan. “W-what are you doing?,” he stammered, his heart gradually beating faster. Such close proximity was sending his mind into a spiral. Were Adam’s eyes always that shimmery? Such deep golden hue, it reminded him of when the Sun was first brought into existence. A sudden bright spark in never ending darkness, glowing hot gases swirling all around it, and he couldn’t help but want to keep staring. Then there was his beautifully sun-kissed skin that seemed to glow whenever light hit it. Unmarred and untainted, it emitted such youthful warmth that pervaded every place Adam was in. And then there was also his soft brown hair; he bet it would feel so silky and smooth between his fingers–
“Can you pass me mushrooms?” Adam reached out and pointed towards the chopped mushrooms on Michael’s side, moving even closer into the angel’s space. 
“Ah, yes,” Michael coughed into his fist. “Here you go.” He quickly handed the requested item, a yellow blush quickly spread on his face as he looked down and away from Adam, though he could still distinctly feel the first man’s warmth so close to him. 
“Okay, so.” Adam grabbed Michael’s hand that was holding the wooden spatula and directed it towards the hot pan. “After you toss it in there you…” 
Adam’s careful instructions were reduced to unintelligible background noise to Michael, his mind distracted by the feel of Adam’s hand on his and his body pressed flush against his. His body went into autopilot, letting Adam guide his hands on what to do as his mind took a break from reality lest he risk overheating.
“Aaand just like that, breakfast is served!,” announced Adam. “Pretty easy, right?”
Before Michael even knew it, two wooden plates of sauteed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, stir fried vegetables and sliced avocados were in front of him. Apparently, he had assembled them together with Adam, though he vaguely remembered doing so. “Um, sure…,” mumbled Michael as he stood there seemingly lost. He wasn’t sure what had happened, but he wouldn’t mind receiving more cooking lessons from Adam. 
On the other hand, Adam was just so happy and relieved to finally have something nice to eat. He hoped that what he just taught Michael now would stick, but he guessed from the angel’s dumbfounded expression that it would probably take a while and many more attempts for that to happen. 
“So, you play the violin?,” asked Adam between chewing, his fork pointing towards Michael, who was sitting across from him, also eating their hard earned breakfast.
The question lowered Michael’s mood a tiny bit, not too obvious of a change, but perceptible to those who were keen. “I…don’t play it as much anymore.”
“Why not?”
Michael hesitated, but in the end didn’t mind sharing a piece of himself to Adam. “Reminds me too much of my brother,” he finally answered. “Though he preferred to call them his fiddle,” he chuckled as a fond memory of him and Lucifer playfully debating which music style was better to play the violin (or the fiddle) with. Michael preferred the more classical approach, a bit slower where notes were sustained and with more vibratos. Lucifer, on the other hand, liked playful dancing rhythms, fast paced with swift changes in notes.
Now, he had no one to competitively play music with, no one to chase around and reproach for pulling silly pranks on everyone even though he knew he would do it again. Despite everything, Lucifer was still his brother, born from the same stardust as he was. 
“I just wish things could’ve ended differently,” Michael sighed as put down his plate of food, having already lost his appetite. 
“Well…do you want to play music with me instead?,” blurted out Adam. He didn’t what the fuck he was trying to do. Comfort him? Make him feel better? Preach about the beauty of music and all that shit? Really, he didn’t know, all he knew was that he didn’t like the idea of someone giving up music because it brought up bitter memories. Music was there to soothe the soul, dance and sing with it, not tear it to shreds. “I mean, you made me a guitar so…”
Michael looked up from his plate to Adam, a little wide eyed from the man’s suggestion. He tossed the idea back and forth in his mind, and the more thought he gave it, the more he realised he liked it. Adam himself was gifted with amazing musical talent, and to create music together with him…it would be breathtaking, Michael imagined. 
“I would love to, Adam.”
“Great! Let me just quickly grab my guitar.” Adam placed his plate down to jump over Amora, who was napping, and grab his guitar from behind her. 
“Oh, you mean right now?,” asked Michael, surprised at the suddenness, but conjured a violin regardless.
“What better time than now?” Adam jumped over the sleeping jaguar again and sat beside Michael. He slowly strummed the strings of his guitar, leading for the angel to join him. 
And Michael did, he positioned the violin between his chin and shoulder and slowly ran the bow up and down over the strings. Together, the two filled the air with a melody of serene beauty and elegance reminiscent of silken clouds at dawn, gold touching blue in the beginning of time. The life around them paused to watch in awe the concert between Heaven and Earth, a painting of the relationship between the two, loving yet formal, its complexity hidden by apparent simplicity. Its divine charm captured all as its enchanted audience.
Michael closed his eyes, fully immersing himself in the sweet sentimental tones, almost heart piercing to him. The notes clash like waves of love and loneliness, lost distant echoes and happiness in your grasp. Memories of the past resurfacing on the shores only to be washed away by slow sublime notes, leaving the shores smooth and bare ready to be meaningfully decorated again. 
The notes lessened, the music eased down, the melody softened to a whisper as the curtains closed and the concert between Heaven and Earth reached its conclusion. Michael and Adam met each other’s gazes, a new understanding between them.

Adam lied on the grass as he watched the stars decorate the dark canvas of the night sky. Each one shining as brightly as they could in order to brighten the darkness that surrounded it. The song he had created with Michael earlier in the morning still playing in his mind. It was normally what he preferred to play or listen to, but specifically that one, he truly loved. 
“You’re still humming that song?,” asked Michael, who was lying beside him to watch the stars as well. It was odd, to see such enormous spheres of burning gas look so small and glistening like those shiny stones Adam had shown him before.
“I can’t help it,” Adam replied, eyes still glued to the night sky. “It was such a beautiful song,” he smiled, contentment filling his heart.
Michael shifted his gaze towards the human beside him. “It was,” he agreed. 
If he wasn’t sure of it before, Michael was definitely sure now. It was something he could happily admit at this point. There weren't any grand plans he’d end up ruining anything or someone’s trust he’d end up breaking. There was nothing in the way, nothing to stop and hold him back. He had waited long enough, hadn’t he? He looked back up towards the night sky. “Would you take offence if I brought action to my desires, Father?,” he wondered. Michael was answered with the tranquillity of the night, the loving kiss of the breeze, the soft lullabies of swaying trees, the quiet snores of sleeping animals, bedtime stories from running streams, and the cool embrace of the glowing moon as she looked down at the earnest angel who sought for permission. 
Michael had expressed his wishes upon Heaven and Earth, both God’s most beautiful works, and still they remained beautiful in their serenity. And so, Michael turned to his side and plucked a single blue feather near the base of his wings, and tied a silken gold thread around one end of the feather.
“Thank you Adam, for creating music with me,” said Michael softly, his tone filled with genuine appreciation and tender care. “It was wonderful. You were wonderful.”
Adam carelessly waved him off. “Psh, you did most of the playing. I was just there to back you up.”
“And I’m grateful for that,” Michael took a deep breath, here goes. He turned his body to fully face the first man beside him. “So, if you would allow me, I’d like to back you up too.” 
Michael slowly offered the blue feather to Adam, his heart on a platter, exposed and vulnerable just for him. 
Adam took his gaze off the night sky to see what Michael was talking about and was greeted by a feather on a golden thread. He knew what that meant. It was an oath. His heart and entire being offered to him unconditionally. An oath of everlasting love, to remain at one’s side until the end of time. 
For angels, it was a happy, beautiful thing. Something to cause celebration over. 
For Adam, it was a nightmare. A disaster in disguise.

How does harvey seduce lyra? What's his favourite way to bang her?
Okay so this was absolutely the most fun to write.
Here’s a little list of all the things he has in his repertoire, other than simply existing, with a few bonus head canons and thoughts thrown in. 
Setting the Scene. Lyra’s Harvey is romantic, polite, gentlemanly. The cliches work. He’d light candles, play soft music, bring her flowers, slow dance, watch the stars with her, open the door for her. Some may see this as old-fashioned, he just sees this as being sweet and attentive to the person he loves the most.
Words - Part One. Flirty banter. They’re smart dorks. The words are part of the attraction. Bonus points if there are bad jokes, puns, nerd chatter. 
Visual stimulus. Harvey will catch her eye with cliches that he knows work for her. The tie loosened, the rolled up shirt sleeves, a little peek of that chest hair, a spark in his eye from behind those glasses, and Lyra is FLUSTERED. Plus, he likes to look smart, even when he’s casual Harvey. So, if they’re out on a date you can be sure he’s looking smart and that moustache will be perfect.
Eye contact. The way he looks at her, like he’s still trying to figure her out but, goodness me, if he wasn’t entirely smitten from the second she walked into the clinic and awkwardly asked him for a neighbourly coffee. Plus, you can be sure he's going to do the finger hook under the chin for this, which leads to...
Physical touch - Part One. Harvey is all about the gentle caresses; he’ll hold her hand intertwining their fingers, touch her waist or the small of her back, brush her hair behind her ear, his fingertip lingering on those star earrings Lyra wears. The man is straight up handsy, especially first thing in the morning when they have just woken up.
Words - Part Two. Harvey has no problem telling Lyra that he loves her and saying things he knows will make her melt. We also know that she loves his voice. Deep, calm, firm but gentle. He’s well-spoken and to be honest, she’d listen to him read the phone book. 
Physical presence. Our man is tall in a way that makes her giggle and twirl her hair and he will use this to his advantage. He is 6'4. She is 5'3.
Slow. Sure, he’s ready to rock and roll with little more than a suggestive look from Lyra, because when he knows that she wants him, that definitely gets him going. However, Harvey loves to take his sweet time, setting the mood, making her feel like she is the only person on the planet for him, completely worshipping her. Then let’s also acknowledge that once he gets started, he is a massive tease. Yes, there are plenty of moments in which my spicy dorks are positively desperate for each other, but he loves to hear her begging for him.
Control. He’s bossy in the bedroom and she gets the full benefit of this. Making her feel good does it for him.
Physical touch - Part Two. Harvey really does have lovely hands and he knows exactly how to use them. You can guarantee she is getting off more than once. Don't look at me. I don't make the rules.
Words - Part Three. He loves to whisper things in her ear. Our girl has a HUGE praise kink and he knows this. He also loves to talk dirty to her. If the man drops an F Bomb in the heat of the moment, she will straight up dissolve. Readers may also have noticed that he only ever calls her Lyra when they are in adult situations. It is like she is in trouble. The best kind of trouble. 
By this point, Lyra is a mess and absolute putty in his hands. He can do absolutely anything he wants to her and whatever he chooses will make her feel incredible.
(Okay, did someone say soft dom Harvey?)
So, his favourite position. Lyra’s Harvey isn’t afraid to be a little adventurous. There was the time with the mirror. The video call when he was away. The time in the woods. The other time she made him watch. The time in front of the fire. The time of Harvey’s birthday in which there were many interesting things explored. Plus, you just know the desk in his office has seen more than just paperwork. He would eat her out for days and is also more than happy to try new positions. However, while he isn’t averse to bending her over the armchair, his favourite are the more intimate positions. The ones where he can hold her close (the man loves to spoon) and where he can look into her eyes and kiss her senseless. So, while he absolutely loves to pin her against a wall or have her on top of him so he can ogle her, his favourite and most frequently used is missionary. He’s in love with her and wants to watch as she falls apart for him, because of him.

SkyBound SMP Characters as Fewjar Songs
Because I have an agenda and the agenda is getting more people to listen to Fewjar. The fandom are like 20 people we need more.
Vast - Lateniteaha
God, I still have so many questions
I'd be dead by now
But I wanna find out
What only the dead know
Especially now as Vast is figuring out what the Avicane actually are and is figuring out who to be after learning that information, they simply have Lateniteaha vibes to me.
Rune - Cepheus
How did I end up here, stone bound?
All I feel ist the striking distance to the clouds
My flesh is fettered on the skin of the soil
But even so I almost reach the sparks in the void
There is a theme in Cepheus of desperation and being stuck in a place, which reminds me of Rune, especially considering how he seems to view themselves and considering the crumbs of backstory we've gotten so far.
Sylph - Go For It!
Something we put together
From pieces we found
Of a broken jar spread on the floor
It's not whole again
Can't be filled up to the top
Yet a beauty lies inside the pain
Sylph to me seems like the type of character that looks at like, a broken apart piece of furniture or clothing and goes "I can fix that up" and then with the help of hot glue and sparkly tape and some neon paint they actually do fix it up and yeah, sure, it's not perfect and it's not without scars but it's something new and beautiful and crazy. In the best way. Best type of character in my eyes.
Taliesin - Yesterday's Eve
But everything is at a turning point
Light is coming in
Raised dust's telling the story
Again, and again, and again
Yesterday's Eve has this theme of passing through, of change and uncertainess that seems to fit with what we've gotten to see of Taliesin so far. We'll see if my opinion changes as we see the flamingo more.
Marcel - Treasure
Pale hands
Nothing to get so serious about but
Let us be honest
In peculiar moments of
Never never letting go the sum of my parts
Over and over again
I will admit that the lyrics of Treasure don't match up with Marcel, at least not 100%, but something in the vibe of the sound and the music video makes me think of him so there.
Armor - Gemini
Exposing scars
What have we done?
Composing lifelines always won
Don't you know where we came from
Where all began?
In all honesty, we literally had one stream with Armor so this is based on vibes and vibes only.
Pietro - Lo
Searching for a deeper sense
In a pile of vowels and consonants
In a pleasant appearance
A Sisyphus- mountain to ascend
Pietro gets one of my favourites and my favourite Fewjar music video! I can't 100% pinpoint why, but something between the sunlight/dawn aesthetic of the video and the almost pleading nature of the chorus make me thing of Pietro and her relationship with his brother.
Virgil - Skeleton
So hold on to me
Although our way won't be
a safe terrain
Oh hollow me
Tell me would you hold on
To a skeleton?
I will be so honest, Skeleton is less Virgil-specific and more it reminds me of both Virgil's relationships with Pietro and Giovanni. The themes of burying yourself in work or a cause even to the extent of ignoring ones own safety that rings through Skeleton - yeah.
Avalon - Chalkbird
Crystal sparrow come with me
Cause I recognized
That you, just like me
Don't belong to this place
Pinning a song for Ava was hard as hell but Chalkbird makes me think of her and Rune and their relationship so tadaaaa.
Gaverin - A Bleakbox of Insights
Irrelevance is my playground
And loneliness is my hometown
Covered in dust lies
A conspiracy
When you listen to Bleakbox at first you might say "That's not at all Gaverin" and to that I say: "I see your point but rewatch the bits where Gaverin talks about their family and read between the lines because that's what I did and that's how I ended up with Bleakbox" /lh
Cosie - We Wonder

This is mostly based on the vibes Cosie gives off to me? Not 100% sure if the song fits lyric-wise but the vibe itself seems right to me.
Erin - Levitation
I didn't pick Levitation because of the lyrics, but because of the sound of the song itself. To me, Levitation sounds like a mix of lonely, whistful and comforting and those vibes to me seem like they can align with Erin.
Ashril - Despite This
I'll be filling my ears with some fire crackle
So you can't call me
Sky is covered by crowns, your smoke signals
They won't reach me
I cannot be convinced that Ash isn't running from something. Thus, Despite This.

Growing up, Yn Ln always dreamt that she would become a singer. Her inspirations were figures well beyond her years, taking inspiration from the likes of great artists from decades past. Her melancholic style became instantly notable when she first hit the scene a few short weeks ago with her debut single, video games. Of course, none of her earlier works can be found on streaming services anymore, but her style has remained consistent over the years as she now releases her debut album in 2023. 
interviewer: Yn, your album “Cruel World” has become an instant cult classic for music reviewers and fans alike. But what everyone really wants to know is what, and who, inspired you?
Yn laughs lightly, rubbing her palms on her jeans before she starts talking.
Yn Ln: It was [pause].. it was a long process. I was inspired by my real life [another pause] and my friends' lives. A lot of things went into creating the album. I’ve spent years working on it. 
interviewer: Are you aware of the rumours surrounding the album? That every song is about an ex of yours? Trevor I think his name is?
Yn tenses briefly at the mention of her ex and swipes her palms against her jeans once more.  
Yn Ln: Like I said, the album was inspired by things I've gone through. I don’t feel the need to put names to songs.
She laughs lightly trying to ease the tension of the room.
Interviewer: Well, regardless, Cruel World is an amazing album.
Yn smiled politely, taking a sip of her coffee.
when yn hughes first laid her eyes on trevor zegras, she felt a spark. when she went to bed that night she didn’t dream about her favourite characters, or books, she didn’t even create perfect little scenarios. no, she fell asleep to thoughts of her brothers best friend. his soft hair, the way he glided the puck across the ice, his smile and enthusiasm when his team did well… yn hughes was doomed from the start. 
‘cause ive got my mind on you
i’ve got my mind on you
you didn't actually meet trevor face to face till a week after first seeing him. your twin, Jack, had invited him and a few other friends over to the house for the day. you laid in bed, eyes closed listening to all the commotion below before you decided to go downstairs and greet everyone. 
when you finally made your way to the group, you stood awkwardly at the bottom of the stairs. the wood chilly as you watched your brother and his friends play fight. 
“I’m trevor!” one of the boys beamed as he stepped away from the group of rowdy boys. 
you smiled softly in response as trevor ruffled his hair. “i’m yn-”
“jacks twin! right, i've heard so much about you! you know, i always wondered if it was true that twins had like, intuition? Is that a thing?” trevor rambled, his words fast and inquisitive, a habit which presented itself quite frequently. 
you laughed, nodding in the small breaks of trevors words as he kept talking about twins and their behaviours he had apparently heard about. 
when he finally stopped his speech, yn answered his first of many questions. “i mean i dont know about intuition but…” 
“trev!” jack called, “get over here, stop talking to yn!”. he was shaking an xbox controller, gesturing for trevor to come join their group of friends who were lounging on the sofa ready to play. 
“but he always seems to pick up on when i'm having a good time” you smiled cheekily. 
trevors face burned red and he rubbed at his neck absentmindedly as he looked you up and down. you watched his eyes trail, and you had never felt so giddy in all of your life. butterflies fluttered in your stomach until trevor broke away from you. 
“Ill uh- ill.. i’ll see you around,” trevor finished lamely, clearly feeling the same giddiness you felt as he sharply turned away from you and sat next to your brother. you stood in your spot for another second, watching as trevor tried to hide his smile from your brother. 
the house was quiet as you made your way into your kitchen for a glass of water. you had fallen after working on some music and you woke up dazed and a little confused.
you open the fridge, the little light partially illuminating the kitchen. a figure moves out of the darkness causing you to jump and let out a little shriek. 
your breathing speeds up, one of your hand coming to rest over your mouth as trevor steps into the light of the fridge. 
“Its just me!” trevor says, voice hoarse with sleep. he lays a had on your shoulder, watching you with wide eyes as you try to calm yourself down.
“what are you doing here?” you asked breathlessly as your breathing started to slow. “uh your parents let me and a few other guys stay over tonight” trevor explained, hand still resting on your shoulder.
“what? when?” trevors hand falls from your shoulders and moves to brush through his hair. 
“after dinner. you were up in your room playing… the guitar was it? It sounded really nice”
“thanks…” your face heated and you were so glad that you hadn't decided to turn the kitchen light on. 
“what were you working on anyway?” trevor changed the subject as he opened the fridge and pulled out a jug of milk.
your nose crinkled as he grabbed his discarded cup and poured himself a glass. “oh you know,” you shrugged your shoulders. you didn’t know why you did it but you never wanted to talk about your music. with all your brother's talents and successes, you felt that you choosing music was an embarrassment to your family even though you knew at heart that it wasn’t true. 
trevor must have picked up on your hesitancy so he shrugged, bringing his glass of milk to his lips as he took another swig. 
“milk?” you questioned, and trevor held the glass out for you to take.
“want some?” he asked, tilting the glass towards you.
“definitely not”
“it makes your bones strong and stuff, you should try it” 
“Trevor i've drank milk before,” you say sarcastically.  
“well yeah but like, you know what i mean” 
you rolled your eyes playfully, “okay fine give me the glass,” you reached your hand out and trevor passed his cup to you. you peered into the cup.
“its just milk it's not gonna hurt you” trevor laughed as he leaned back against the kitchen counter. 
you tentatively took a sip and when you finished you passed the glass back to trevor. 
“how was it?” “gross”
“yeah okay,” trevor rolled his eyes, leaning his head back as he finished the rest of the glass. 
you reached past trevors shoulder, grabbing a glass to fill with water. 
“well, im going to go to bed,” trevor nods to you as he sets his now empty glass in the sink. 
“goodnight,” you respond as you fill your glass.
“yah night,” trevor walks out of the kitchen and you watch him leave.
what the hell was that? you whisper to yourself, downing the rest of your water before heading to bed yourself. 
the next few weeks followed similarly. you and trevor would have these weird random moments, and you would both awkwardly smile at each other and move on with your days. that was until the boys decided to have a bonfire now that your parents were out of town to celebrate the start of the summer. 
you felt the warm heat of the fire on your legs as you sat near the pit with your friend. you watched absentmindedly as trevor talked to his friends before you felt the weight of your friend's hand on your shoulder. 
“you know yn, if you want him that badly then…” you whipped your head around at your friends words.
“what?” your eyes were wide in shock. you hadn’t told anybody about your growing feelings for trevor. 
“I’m just saying you’re not being really secretive…”
“he's my brother's best friend” you shrugged, your eyes drifting from your friend and back to the boy in question. He was nursing a beer he had somehow managed to sneak past his own parents.
“okay… what does that have to do with anything? hes hot” your friend shrugs. 
“hes also jacks teammate it just, it wouldn't work out the way i’d want it to” you expressed your reasons on why you couldn't date trevor and it sounded more ridiculous each time. you knew you wanted to be with him, and honestly, jack wasn't what you were worried about. you were more worried of the possible rejection. sure you and trevor had spent time together and talked. but majority of that time was when the two of you were alone. what if trevor doesn't want anything more than the private meetups? 
“how do you want it to work out?”
you fiddled with your hands, ignoring your friends question.
“he clearly likes you though, if that's what you're worried about” you hummed in response, lazily turning your head to look at trevor again. He smiled at you when he caught you looking. you didn't have the energy to look away. you knew then that you'd rather be rejected then not with him at all.

“trev!” you hear jack call from across the fire pit, “can you go get us more marshmallows?” the boy easily agrees as he stands up from his lawn chair and begins to make his way inside. 
“Yn im thirsty!” your friend quickly says, pushing you up and off your seat. “can you get me a root beer?” she pleads, causing your brothers and his friends to shift their attention to the two of you. you quickly catch on to what she's doing, and you nod with enthusiasm. 
“does anyone else want something?” you ask the group as you slowly back away. Jack asks for water, and you nod before following Trevor into your house. 
the house was silent as the two of you worked your way around the kitchen. just as trevor was about to make his way back outside again, you stopped him. your hand tugged on his wrist and he was turning back to face you.
“trevor,” you breathed out, a little shocked at your sudden courage.
“yn,” he whispered back. you could hear the faint sound of the fire crackling and everyone's laughter out in the backyard.
it felt magnetic, the pull that brought your lips up to meet his. the kiss was soft and innocent. something that could easily be explained away as a spur of the moment thing. you refused to let it.
“yn,” trevor whispered again, this time painfully.
“trevor,” you were hopeful. 
he kissed you again, one of his hands coming down to settle on your waist as your arm wrapped itself around his neck. 
when you both pulled apart, trevor rested his forehead against yours, his breath slowing down as you both relaxed. 
“we cant do this,” trevor said almost regretfully as his head turned at the sound of your brothers loud voice teasing cole. 
“we can do whatever we want” you replied, ignoring all the background noise.
“jacks your twin. he's my teammate. my best friend. i can't just-”
“say yes to me” you blurted and your face heated up instantly. 
“It's not that easy-”
“yes it is. trevor just say yes to me and we can figure out what to do with jack later,” 
trevor seemed unsure of what to say for the first time. 
“What's taking you so long! damn!” jacks voice pops the bubble you and trevor had built not even a minute earlier. 
“sorry i couldn't find the marshmallows,” trevor mumbles, stepping away from you and towards your brother. 
“why didn’t you help hin y/n? don't be rude” your brothers voice seemed to pierce the quiet of the kitchen.
“he didn’t want me to help,” you replied quietly, reaching behind you for the water bottle jack had asked for earlier. 
“well that was stupid. she literally lives here z she knows where everything is,” jack responded cluelessly.
“Yeah, right, my bad” trevor nodded along with his words as he watched jack reach into a corner cabinet to retrieve a bag of marshmallows. 
I’ll put my red dress on, get it on
and if you fight, i’ll fight
it doesn’t matter, now its all gone

Sparkstember Day 1: Halfnelson

This album is SO GREAT!! On my first listen I was immediately very impressed by it and I really love how it has this very particular early 70s rock sound that I'm a big fan of, while still being distinctly Sparks and its own special thing, at a time when Sparks was just starting to become its thing - the heart of it all was there from the very start! While it's not my top #1 favourite Sparks album or even one of my top 5 favourites (which is a nebulous category anyway that's likely to change and shift with time of course, and not even something I pay THAT much attention to) it's definitely still UP THERE and a very special album in my heart that I revisit quite often. Especially when I need something to simply relax but also appreciate some of that early Sparks' experimental and... almost whimsical? sound.
This album also reminds me of winter, a very snowy one at that, and that's in big part because of when I started listening to it for sure, but some of that vibe is already there in the music anyway if you ask me. Walking around a Christmas market in the city and hearing random tunes from this album playing in my head all the while, that's one great memory I have from last year. If I were to give this album some sort of visual representation it would definitely involve a lot of browns and other earthy tones - it would be very dark and mysterious without being scary or truly unnerving necessarily - think something like the Edith Piaf (Said It Better Than Me) music video, but less colorful and involving more wooden materials (yes, this is VERY specific and also definitely an image that's supported by that wintery association, as well as the imagery that my brain came up with for Simple Ballet, but more about that below...).

Sparing some thoughts for Yandere F1 Dads Hawks and Dabi:
Keigo has his own race team, his company makes cars for these races, and Dabi, his husband races for him. Keigo spends a lot of time in his home office late at night, designing new cars that are faster and better equipped for Dabi. Dabi would join him in his office after putting you to sleep, helping Keigo out or just keeping him company sometimes, a cup of coffee for tye blonde and scotch for him. Their conversations often revolved around you, cars and dirty jokes, obviously.
Keigo wearing his designer 3 piece suits and forcing you into wearing team colours/Dabi's merchandise when he takes you to races to support Dabi. You're not super fond of tye tracks, but if it's any consolation, Dabj and Keigo make sure you have those big noise cancelling headphones on (the one they give babies). The only downside is that they still force you to wear the team costume and big headphones even when you're older.
The races are usually held in Monaco, the Richie rich city where there's casinos clubs everywhere. And youd think that your rich dads would leave you at the hotel and go to these casinos to have some fun. But no, since you're too young to go to these places(you're not, they just don't want you to suddenly become a gambling addict or meet the disgusting pervs that these places are full of), so they do more family appropriate activities with you. Like cycling dates, which would've been alright if it they weren't famous, so now everybody on streets is staring at you and taking pictures of you losing your breath and turning red and sweaty because you have low stamina, unlike your dads who are fit sportsman.
Dabi trusts reader 100%. He knows hes raised a good, honest, sweet kid- no, he raised an angel. It's just... everyone else that he distrusts. That's why he spends a lot of time in the garage building trackers that he can have Keigo sew in your clothes, bags, shoes. Keigo isn't completely on board with "tracking" your every move, but then Dabi always paints such a picture about what could possibly happen if someone gets their dirty paws on you and you're never seen again, leaving your dads wondering what kind of hell you're in. So, now Keigo is sewing in the trackers and hiring disguised bodyguards to keep an eye on you during school and whenever you're out in general.
Keigo cooking in the kitchen while Dabi helps you with your homework, having endless patience as he explains the same thing over and over again with the softest voice ever. Of course, Keigo brings in healthy snacks for you two, watching his two favourite people just... being themselves.
While Dabi helps with the academic side of your development, Keigo likes to spark your interests with different hobbies. He plays the piano, so he'll teach you how to play one, or at the very least, an instrument of your choice. And when music class is over, he'll have you help him with cooking, usually baking because you like licking the frosting off the spatula (just like Dabi). Keigo also encourages you to draw futuristic type of cars, and the blonde takes it as a challenge to make all your designs, however unfeasible they may seem, become real.
Thats not to say that Dabi doesn't do fun activities with you. He'll have you join him in the garage and teach you a lot of stuff as he works on his cars and engines- he'll make sure you know how to change your oil and tyres so that you don't need someones measly son (aka Bakugou) to change them for you and then hold it over your head. Dabi would definitely over for you to learn how to drive from him, but until you're old enough, playing car simulation video games with him will do.
When you first started dating Katsuki, whenever you would leave home, Dabi would have serious anger issues that he would take out on his cars as he destroys them with a metal bat or a wrench. But you'd never know that he's angry, because by the time you come home, Dabi is cool and nonchalant.
Keigo, while he pretend he's not bothered by you dating, doesn't cope so well either. He may have a happy, calm exterior, but when he goes to work, he fires like quarter of the company. He takes out his anger on other people, so that when he returns home, he can sigh and pretend he's much better at coping this news than Dabi.

One of Taylor’s weaker openers, it’s a nice song, not much going on though
the production is boppy, not much going on once again
Interesting how Taylor sees her muse as living a good life without her and a nice domestic scene with his wife watering flowers but for her, her husband is cheating on her, implying she thinks she will never be happy, maybe because of how this relationship went or her general perception of relationships and her experiences with them. That is my interpretation of the song.
The outro with post and taylor's harmonies SLAPS
Like I said, this song feels a bit lacking of substance both thematically and technically, it doesn't do it for me, i don't hate listening to it, i just don't love it.
i think it might be a song that grows on me over time but it won't ever be a fave for me.
i also think in light of the music video, it's lost some of its spark for me, as that music video made no sense to me. i don't think it deserved to be a single.
the tortured poets department
“You left your typerwriter at my apartment, straight from the tortured poets department” implying that this thing of which she is now part had been introduced to her by the muse
The muse has probably compared them to poets like Dylan Thomas and Patti Smith and probably romanticised their relationship into the work of a tortured poet, but that’s not real life.
Taylor brings back to reality that now because of his self sabotage that brought both of them down in this relationship, he has lost the one who will decode him, hold him, know him
the above are just little analyses i like making as i listen to the song, they have nothing to do about whether i like the song or not, it's just me trying to make sense of it. you'll see that a lot.
i do not like the charlie puth line. at all. why is it there?
also don't like the tattooed golden retriever line, the image of a tattooed golden retriever is terrifying.
i was so off-guard about the namedropping in this song, sorry i had no idea who dylan thomas or patti smith were.
this song is trying too hard to be poetic, i think (which one could argue is the whole point of this song), but it doesn't stand out much to me. the themes are interesting though.
this is a pretty weak title track, personally. i feel like it doesn't encapsulate the essence of the album (which i am confused about tbh, ttpd has a lot of aesthetics going on for itself). it has nothing on little fearless and evermore.
my boy only breaks his favourite toys
so we all thought this song would be pretty petty, but i honestly don't think it is extremely so. there's a sort of pity for the muse, that the breaking of his 'favourite toys' is a form of self sabotage and that they could've had it all.
i love how it starts so defeated, "oh here we go again", which i think is in reference to the muse's self sabotage ruining her life
it also feels a bit reflective and nostalgic of the fact that it wasn't all bad, which i quite liked. i liked the contrast of feelings.
"once i fix me, he's gonna miss me" is a devastating line btw
so is "he saw forever so he smashed it up"
song is a bop, i like the lyricism, overall i enjoy this song :)

i enjoy the cunty synth here ahaha. for all the jokes the fandom makes about jack fucking around with the synth while taylor sings the most soulcrushing lyrics, it is so real especially for this song.

the fast beat vs the slow melodies is such an interesting juxtaposition (to my lit teacher, i hope i used this word right XD). i think it really highlights the conflicting feelings this song explores ("i'm just mad as hell 'cause i loved this place") and also how taylor isn't able to keep up with how quickly the relationship is dying (the production) and she's still sifting through her feelings to find acceptance (the melody)

the bridge is just the most devastating strike to my heart

now i know this is the fan favourite, and i understand why. it gives an eery, angry vibe, and i also enjoy it. to some extent.
namely, the part i enjoy most is the circus imagery, i liked how she leaned into the circus animal metaphor to depict her struggles in fame and her relationships. it's like a badly behaved circus animal about to be put down absolutely losing it and raging about its plight, which i enjoy as a means of storytelling and expressing emotion. i also enjoy it as a callback to mirrorball and what happens when the mirrorball finally has had enough of shattering in a million pieces and performing for a largely uncaring crowd.
... which is why i don't like the asylum lyric. to me, it doesn't add in anything significant thematically when the rest of the song hardly has similar strains of discussion. not to mention the ableist overtones and trivialisation of the asylum experience but i just don't like this lyric. it weakens the premise of the song.
the production is also off in some places, it feels muted and underwhelming compared to the premise of the song.
it's an okay song, i 100% like the acoustic demo better that she came out with recently. some changes in production and the omission of that asylum lyric would put it higher up for me.

the hologram lyric is not about cheating at all. the relationship is long gone, this is taylor envisioning her muse in a new relationship but she isn't there, hence the hologram. i've seen some people say it was about cheating, that interpretation doesn't make sense to me.
"you turned me into an idea of sorts" -> "the idea you had of me, who was she?"
random thought, but the lyricism on the anthology is so much better and natural as compared to the first half. i enjoy the bops on the first half but it also suffers from trying too much to be poetic (i think i said this about the title track especially). there are so many overloaded lyrical runs and random references that leave me confused and overwhelmed. the anthology however feels so much more quintessentially taylor.

this song is so escapist, but also so cynical about the escapism, it clearly isn't a preferred option, like it's not just escaping into childhood and nostalgia for the sake of it, it's because the real world fucking sucks.
the chorus slays, and is quite relatable.
the use of the word "precocious" is so interesting to me. she used it also in "but daddy i love him" if i remember correctly. like she resonates a lot with the feeling of being stunted in childhood or having seemed to never grow up -> "i have this thing where i get older but just never wiser" -> "i never grew up, it's getting so old" -> "i hit my peak at seven", idk i find it an interesting recurring theme in taylor's discography.
the 1830s line, and just that entire first half of the verse. i know why it's there, i know what it's doing, i know it's not meant to be taken seriously. still i don't like it. it also feels weird that she is calling out racism as a staple of the 1830s or whatever when she has shown us she is perfectly fine with dating a racist. you can say i'm being overdramatic. you can say i don't get it. idc. i try to ignore this part because this is a very good song and i love its themes and production.
"nostalgia is a mind's trick" i really love this because the entire song is so nostalgic for childhood and escapism but then she's like "actually nostalgia sucks" or it's not what it seems. no, the past would not have been better.
production feels like seven. themes quite different however (thematically, it would be robin, i think.)
the bridge combats the cynicism of the second verse which is so interesting to me. i love how opposing views on nostalgia and escapism are presented, the nuance is there.

i think the notion of "a greater woman" or "a lesser woman" speaks to the expectations placed around women in relationships, they mustn't appear too desperate for love because that's undesirable but if they are nonchalant, they are also undesirable, it is worth exploring in terms of this song.
this song is so so sad and sadly so so relatable, i definitely find some comfort and resonance in this and it makes me really sad :(
i love the references to mythology and folklore made here, "the pricked hand" very obviously referencing sleeping beauty.
i always love it when taylor repeats the first verse at the end of a song, i think it speaks to the cyclical, circular nature of this specific feeling, that no matter how much she begs and pleads, "the prophecy" will never change.

the chorus reminds me a lot of "illicit affairs", i think, interesting connections can be made there
"as she was leaving, it felt like breathing" as in a sigh of relief that it's over, but also she does it so often it is quite literally as quotidian and simple as "breathing"
i love taylor's tendencies to make songs in the third person narrative voice, i think her best storytelling comes out like this.
"there's escape in escaping"- i think this is sort of a commentary on how the identity of "the bolter" is like a coping/defense mechanism to ensure that she doesn't get hurt in a relationship, in that there is an escape from her insecurities, her worries, and the eminent pain she will face in the relationship by quite literally escaping.
but there's also often the bait and switch ("then it was bought by me", "i'm the albatross, i swept in at the rescue") but i find it so interesting that this song does not do that, if only i can make a meaningful analysis there, but my running theory is that she deliberately chooses to distance herself from the identity of "the bolter", bc while she does dote on this character and is rather affectionate in how she tells the story, she doesn't feel like attaching herself to it, in that maybe it's an identity she no longer wants to hold or that, like she frequently says, she doesn't believe these songs or stories are about her anymore and that they take on new meaning..

it's so sweet how she is consoling the child, ensuring them that they should enjoy this time they have now, and that they will be kept safe from their future.
but it's so sad in that regard, like, "we don't wanna hurt you so we're not telling you how this will pan out to protect your childhood innocence".
this once again cements my preoccupation with taylor's discussions around childhood and youth, she mentions frequently how that was taken away from her too soon and how she has felt "precocious" because of it. it's so important to understand and this song should NOT be overlooked.

this song is so heartbreaking, i want to punch the wall
i never thought about the fact how doing the atw short film would have rekindled these old memories and feelings, and this song is surely a direct result of that. not surprising, in hindsight, but it still compelled me when i first heard it.

overall thoughts
i hate to say it, but i think this album is in a desperate need of editing; there's so much going on, most of which is compelling and worth exploring, but everything is disjunct with each other and i know this work is meant to feel messy, don't start with me there, but it shouldn't be messy to the point where it's confusing and overwhelming. there are so many concepts and metaphors that are so intriguing and clearly important in taylor's music but the final products of those become half-baked in mediocre production or mixing. this album feels rushed and is soaked with questionable decisions. for example, i think "i can do it with a broken heart" should have been a single and title track because i think it's such a central part of her experiences recently and clearly something permeating the rest of this collection, and how she learns to move on and cope in light of heartbreak. there are several moments where the lyricism of the album feels overwhelming and overcompensating, as in trying too hard to contain meaning. the best lyrical moments on this album are seamless and subtle, and very prosodic as well. taylor tried to deviate from that formula quite a bit and it didn't always work out for the best in this album. she is not as adept at throwing in conversational lyrics as her peers, her strength is in prose and storytelling. the production is also getting a bit old, it's very sonically cohesive, almost to the point of it being boring, and i think taylor needs to get a bit more experimental sonically, and also ensure that the melody and production work together in more different ways, and that maybe the melody is not relying on the production but vice versa. the album is certainly not all lows, but the lows are particularly lower than in other instances of her discography.
that being said, the highs on this album are absolutely breathtaking. the majority of the anthology and quite a few songs on this album captured me instantly. this album is quite mellow, and could have benefitted from another bop or two, but the ones we received were astounding!! this album also had some really strong lyricism, especially in the anthology, and it was so intriguing seeing the many metaphors and situations she used to express her feelings. her storytelling in particular really shone in this album in songs like "the albatross", "the bolter", "clara bow", "cassandra", "the manuscript" among others. i love the themes and ideas that taylor explored in this album, and overall the premises really compelled me.
in terms of rankings, i've separated the two halves. the first half (ttpd) is second-last and the second half (the anthology) is 8th out of 12 (not 11 because ttpd is split in two).
