as an avid cw show watcher since my teenage years (tvd, the originals, supernatural) i am such a defender of that silly little show izombie. the plot is so silly, a girl who goes to a boat party and gets turned into a zombie… then quits her job at a hospital to work in a morgue. why? so she can have access to a food supply that’ll keep her alive.

but get this: the brains she eats give her visions of the people killed, as well as some of their personality traits. once she realizes those visions could help solve the mystery of their deaths, she teams up with her fellow doctor in the morgue, ravi (rahul kohli) and a detective named clive to help put the pieces together.

to protect her cover, she presents herself as a psychic and pairs up with clive babineaux and visits the crime scenes in order to trigger visions that could solve the case.

with each brain she eats, she makes a little meal out of, which i personally have always loved to see. theyre my favorite parts of the episodes. the effects of the brains liv eats change her personality for the days she’s on the case, going from things like a stoner frat guy to a dominatrix lady. i swear this show was written on drugs for how ridiculous it is.

from liv moore’s dying and coming back to life to helping solve crimes, how in the world was this show so underrated??? it’s corny, silly, sad, funny, and even a little scary at the same time. no show has ever been this creative, especially from the cw.

liv moore’s taste buds are dead from her zombie transformation that she has to put the hottest hot sauce on all the food she eats to even taste anything. if she doesnt get a regular serving of brains, she will lose all control from the hunger and eat anything that could subside it.

i might even start rewatching soon, it’s that good. like know all the words to many episodes, that good. if this post makes any one of my followers watch it, i’ve done my job! this post was just me ranting about a silly little show that’s had my heart from the first episode. i wish i could watch it over for the first time again.

just think: a zombie working in a morgue to have a supply of brains, while also having a different personality every time she eats one. and solving crimes with her detective buddy who doesnt know shes dead.

i don’t really think that the reader and joel would ever have another child together. they basically both got an extra child once they got into a relationship together, and i think they’re pretty content with what their family looks like now.

since you were nice in the ask, i’ll give you some little HCs of what might happen if they did have another child.

i think the girls would be SO excited to have another sibling. they would definitely ask for full creative control over the nursery. they’d also be suggesting a bunch of names throughout the pregnancy.

joel would literally be the best during your pregnancy. like bend over backwards to make sure every craving is fulfilled and to make sure that if you were ever in any pain, you wouldn’t be for long.

you would take so many parenting classes together (even though you have both been parents for several years), but you just want to make sure you know how to be good INFANT parents.

joel definitely would stay up late reading books about fatherhood or scrolling online to see people’s tips for a smooth birth and stuff.

once the baby arrives i think you both would realize that you were a lot more prepared than you were giving yourselves credit for.

sarah and chloe are obsessed with the baby too! they want to hold the baby all the time and they read the baby little stories and theyre always a little curious to learn about how a baby is actually taken care of.

they also love to dress the baby up or do the baby’s hair. their favorite hobby.

when the baby is old enough to be fed baby food, he definitely does the whole ‘here comes the train!’ thing and it is so adorable

when he does any fatherly duty it is painfully hot. like watching him burp the baby or give the baby whatever it’s crying for in the middle of the night is just… scrumptious!

you would be lying if you said seeing him with a baby didn’t make you want to give him infinitely many more babies

this is a little more sad, but sometimes you can definitely tell that he’s used to doing the whole raising an infant thing alone. like he’s ALWAYS the one who always shoots up in the middle of the night when he hears crying through the baby monitor, or he thinks he’s the one who always needs to be changing the baby’s diaper or feeding them even if you’re not busy. so sometimes you have to remind him that it’s a team effort and you’re also there to help <3

joel is really good about documenting all the milestones and it is very very cute

goo literally made a video that was like 3 hours.long which was dedicated to bot's new identity after they said they were a robot and weren't "bow" and also they both have their own silly little alliance in the show called "The Cheer Factory" ❗❗❗ cmon theyre like. theyre literally like two little kids in a trenchcoat/silly theyrefound family siblings to me

everyone in the village hated naruto since the day he was born bc of the demon that lives in his insides somewhere (this sounds crazy if you haven't seen the show but trust me here). iruka was his teacher at school. when everyone was graduating, naruto failed and some side character told him that if he stole a secret scroll he'd pass (since he failed). they were using him tho, and were planning on killing him (i think). and then iruka goes after him and finds him with the scroll before the other person did, and was the first person to actively defend naruto, and was the first person to believe him and see him as the person he was (he's like 12 here btw). and then, iruka always acts as a father figure to naruto, and at the very end of the series, when naruto gets married, he asks iruka to be his father at his wedding. i cried like a little bitch and i swear to god i just lvoe them so much. i doubt anyone will submit them butAAAAAA. ALSO IRUKA PASSED HIM IN THE END AND GAVE HIM HIS OWN FUCKING HEADBAND!!! SOBS AND CRIES AND SCREAMS

iruka was the first person to ever believe in naruto. it’s mentioned throughout the story how much of an impact iruka had on naruto just by believing in him, and it’s super sweet. the real kicker is that at the end of the show, naruto asks iruka to play the role of his father at his wedding, and i will never not cry about it!! literally look at them!!! never shutting up about this!!

Day 2 - Who’s your favorite Torchwood member? (And if it’s not one of them, who’s your favorite character?) Why are they your favorite? Do you have any secondary favorites (maybe a one-off or minor character that really stuck with you)?

owen, infinitely. i could write essays on why i love owen - hell, i have written essays. and at this point, you know when a character means so much to you there’s not even words for it anymore, they’re just kind of a fundamental part of you? Yeah. but nonetheless, i guess to majorly sum it up, he’s just one of the most utterly broken and fascinating characters i’ve ever had the pleasure of coming across. there's just a visceral sadness and anger to him that immediately reeled me in and i don’t think i’ll ever get over it, like he actually haunts me. and he made his way into my top 3 characters of all time in just a few months, which is pretty damn impressive. something just kinda clicked there. (and i highlight how fucked up he is, but then he's also complex enough that he's got a silly/dorky side too, which im super endeared by as well. i love his complexity. perf character for me, hes got like 30 things going on and im intrigued and compelled by all of them. i love him endlessly.)

also, okay, i’ve observed my favorite characters tend to unintentionally fit certain criteria, like when i look back at all my favs i can sort them into three categories. namely, it's 1) characters that make me lose my mind bc theyre so interesting (and/or endearing), 2) characters i relate to, and 3) characters i’d smash. fhdjkf. i tend to visualize it as a venn diagram, and most characters sit in one or two of the circles - owen is, i believe, the absolute only fav i’ve ever had who’s firmly in the middle. which probably has something to do with why he’s top 3. dhfdsjk

as for secondary favs… well, i absolutely adore the rest of the team, especially ianto and the girls (including suzie!!!!!!!! my girl suzie). i’m not sure why, gwen’s become a particular favorite. she gives me like cuteness aggression HFKSDF i wanna squish her (lovingly). she’s so fucked up n interesting, but also a lil gremlin to me. i love her playful side she’s such a love.

one-off characters… actually, quite a few have stood out to me and made an emotional impact. torchwood has had some wonderfully talented guest actors who really managed to get me attached to their characters, despite having so little screentime. carys, eugene, and beth all come to mind. i think about beth a lot. and maggie, ohhhh maggie. ill talk about aditd a bit tomorrow, ff.

also the episodes with mothers, oh g-d. eugene’s mom, and jonah’s, and jasmine’s. all really heart-wrenching, and damn good actresses. i always get emotional with plotlines about parents + their kids, fff. parental pain + fear just hits diff idk. i used to watch a ton of criminal minds and that was about the only place my empathy jumped out fhsdkfjd.

i also love the various romantic interests - john, diane, mary, lisa, mark (cough), katie, tommy. rhys!! i love you rhys. torchwood is such a character-focused fixation for me like g-d i just adore every character sm. so many good ones. AND HOW COULD I FORGET MY FAV GUY OF ALL - ANDY!!!!!!!! ily pc andy <3 <3 <3

ok so those guys in particular are from the fox procedural called 9-1-1 Lone Star, which is a spinoff of the original 9-1-1 (which just got moved to abc after some Drama that went down so my tag for it is 911 (not fox) lmaoo). but both shows are about first responders (firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers, police) with a particular focus on firefighters. 9-1-1 (the og) is set in LA, and primarily focuses on the 118 firehouse and the firefighters/paramedics there with some other characters in the main cast who work as dispatchers/police officers (the police storylines are more often than not FULL of copaganda which sucks but the main focus is on the firefighters so i'm able to enjoy the rest of the show). 9-1-1 Lone Star is pretty much the same except it's set in austin texas, and is about the 126 firehouse. there are onscreen queer characters in both (in the og there's a married lesbian couple raising a kid, and in lone star there's the aforementioned hot gay boys [one of whom is unfortunately a cop but i swear to GOD i will get him out of there. one day.] and in lone star there's also a trans man and wlw woman in the main cast.) and my favorite thing about these shows is the found family !!! like these are the shows that have endeared firefighter aus to me because they live together and eat meals together and just. the familial/platonic love is So Powerful and it legiterally makes me cry to watch. like there's romance ofc but genuinely it's one of my favorite found family medias to ever exist. its So.

of the two the og is my favorite for a LOT of reasons, but they're both pretty enjoyable !! lone star definitely has more of a comedic tone than og (theyre BOTH funny but lone star doesn't have as many somber intense moments as og does, and they're much more spread out so there's a lot more room for goofy shenanigans. but og still definitely has plenty of those) and the team dynamics in them both are just...ughhh <3333

HOWEVER. lone star has ..... Him...(derogatory)...he's the fire captain and (despite lone star SUPPOSEDLY being an ensemble show with no Main Character) is in fact. the Main Character. and he's the blandest most obnoxious crustiest white man to ever LIVE. he gets most of the storylines and he's constantly propped up by the writing as The Coolest Guy Ever when he's just . not . i hate him so much it's unreal it's soo so unreal (<- biting the bars of my cage) BUT the rest of the team ??? absolutely love them. like i DO love lone star a lot its a great show with great characters and dynamics but it just has. the most annoying guy to ever live front and center when ITS SUPPOSED TO BE AN ENSEMBLE SHOW FEATURING EVERYONE EQUALLY. grr. anyway. og does a much better job of being an ensemble show, and i could not choose a favorite character of the main cast if you held me at gunpoint. angela bassett is there. i am gay. jennifer love hewitt is there. i am very gay. etcetera.

AND SINCE YOU ASKED SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THE LONE STAR GAYS ILL TELL YOU A BIT ABOUT THEM

so one of them is tk strand (firefighter/paramedic, also the son of the Main Character (derogatory). i have many many many thoughts about that. i would probably get gunned down in this fandom if i ever said them aloud.) and the other one is carlos reyes (a private detective TO MEEEEEEEEEEEE but unfortunately fox is full of cowards who refuse to see the truth. they wanna have a gay cop in their show sooo bad </3) and they're kind of the main romance of the show (there Are others ofc but theyre like. The Focus. which is fine ig but i do wish there was more focus on other relationships because in general lone star isnt as good as the ensemble thing as og. but i already complained about that so i digress.)

now they're a fun pair because one of them has been shot, frozen almost to death, and otherwise put into a coma on MULTIPLE occasions. and it's not the guy whose entire job is to get shot at. (the whump in both of these shows.....................absolutely effervescent. im thriving here.) and they have a very fascinating relationship because their personalities fit together really well but they have different ways of coping with shit that kind of tear each other apart a little bit. which is of course terrible for them but incredible for me. and the writing is at times ridiculous. soap opera-esque, even. they're ridiculous. i adore them. they cannot catch a god damn break and i love that for them even more. <3

its just ??? everything about that guy? its so fucking nice. its the way theyre able to implement the effects of a traumatising upbringing in a realistic way while acknowledging that it takes time to properly recover and the fact that they show that abuse really does have lasting effects because, despite being treated that way, he still idolised his mother bc what other choice did he have? she was the only one who cared about him in /some/ way even if she was abusive. the other kids in his school were mean as hell for no reason and so he turned to his only source of comfort who only saw him for his powers that proved his strength. and the only praise he got from her was how strong he was, and how he needed to win all his fights, so when she dies, he does everything he can to achieve that goal like a promise that he just cant break bc. again, what other choice does he have? in his head, his mother is all he ever had, even if she wasnt really there for him. but he continues fighting even though he acknowledges all that his mother did to him and its just so. so aughghgh. and he fights and fights and fights and at first its only for his mother, but then he starts looking around him and gets hit by the realisation that things have passed. his mom isn't there anymore, and he had people who genuinely cared about him. he had magna, vanessa, the black bulls, everyone and its just so?? its so important to me u dont understand. he tries to run to her when the choice arises but who does he ultimately go to? his friends, his family bc he had other people to fight for now. it's no longer 'fighting for my mom', now it's just 'fighting for my friends', and MOST IMPORTANTLY 'FIGHTING FOR ME' ahhsuhafhhff its just so fucking important to me his recovery is kept so close to my heart no body gets it holy hel . and he still fights and i LOVE thta about him so fucking much. instead of dropping everythin he had, he claimed it all for himself. instead of pointihg a finger at his mom, he establishes it as his own. and its just so
