With more than £ 20,000 raised already, 8 out of the 10 planned episodes are fully funded and we got @stellarfirmatim and Ben to commit to doing a (most likely Stellar Firma) live show some time in the future!

Hello wanderers, friends of the forge, and all those in between! I'm here to present some very exciting news! My two shows, @thefringespod and @forgedbondspod , are joining the Faustian Nonsense Network!

The wonderful folks at Faustiam Nonsense are behind some of my favorite shows @ethicstownpod , @chainofbeing , Super Suits, The Technomancy Project, just to name a few! Getting to join this network full of shows i love and people I admire is such an incredible honor and I'm so excited to share this information with yall. Not much will be changing from a listener perspective- just some extra info in the credits of episodes! I’m not quite happy with these designs and its probably not logical but i think it would be conceptually funny if The Halo disguised herself by a way too bright light around her face because she is such a star in my eyes lol!

guess what! I’m animating (most of) Episode 4 of Super Suits, “Stall’s Well That Ends Well”!

it’s not going to be fully animated of course— that would literally kill me. but I’m making a ~20 minute animatic of an abridged cut of that episode! so here’s the character designs I decided on and my thought process behind them.

First up, the genius Dr Torque!

I came up with most of this concept based purely on her voice and vibes. I have no idea where the big hat came from, but the feathers in said hat are duck feathers. Also, I decided to give her an eyepatch because I figured at some point during the engineering process she managed to gouge it out on accident. RIP, I guess.

Now for the handsome Kurt Rappaoport!

Yeah this is literally just Jonny with some minor tweaks. And a suit because court shit. That’s literally all there is to his design.

Onto the irritable Phillip Aria!

Based on his character, I figured he wouldn’t look quite as ancient and antique as Mal, so I gave him a modern suit, with a jabot to keep things classy. Apparently he’s ALSO a mosquito vampire, so I gave him the same antennae I gave Mal. Other than that… yeah, it’s Tim, pretty much.

Next up is the mysterious Malcom Aria!

I cannot stress how hard it was to not make this guy look like Manfred von Karma. IT WAS SO TEMPTING. In the end I gave him a haircut similar to that of von Karma and an outfit that is pretty close to the one shown in the animated trailer. I’d also like to note that, although it’s not visible in this lineup, his coattails resemble the wings of a mosquito.

And of course, the inevitable Harper Hallo!

Similar to Mal, I had such a hard time NOT making Harper look like Phoenix Wright. They have a suit basically identical to Phoenix’s (bar the iconic Attorney’s Badge) because they seem like the type to dress to impress. I projected my height issues onto them, so they are the shortest of the crew. And their ponytail is made up of five segments, so when viewed from behind it looks almost like a hand waving “hallo!”

Now, the inseparable Bonnie Firestein and Cole Castillo!

My original designs for both Bonnie and Cole were vastly different from how they ended up in this lineup. I eventually just adapted the designs from the animated trailer.

Next up is the wonderful Jasmine Green!

I honestly didn’t have a thought process behind Jasmine’s design. It’s actually just a version of someone who randomly popped up in a dream I had once. So yeah.

And of course the Honorable Judge Leslie Finer!

I gave Leslie the classic judge’s outfit, then designed the rest of him based purely on his voice.

Last but certainly not least, the omnipresent L.O.I.S.!

It’s just the design from the trailer. Not much else I can say about that. (I would make her have a screen projecting an animated personage like my I.M.O.G.E.N. design from Stellar Firma, but she said she doesn’t have eyes so there goes that idea.)

And that’s all of them! Some of the designs definitely had more thought than others, but I love all of them! And as a treat for reading all this, have a WIP of the first scene :)

To the surprise of literally no one, Malcom Aria is an instant favorite of mine. So I decided to make a little introduction to Mr. Aria from the first few episodes to .... create a picture of what he is like. I hope others enjoy him as much as I do.

Hey yall! SO MUCH has happened over at the Brooklyn Field Office the last buncha weeks.

Karen took down a super-creep, kinda went too far, but her boss is into that kinda thing, so she got promoted! 🥳🥳 Her biologist assistant Marcia killed a man in Reno (okayokay, in West Virginia), and Dr. Simon Zoller put the finishing touches on his sentient totally-not-a-sex bot

But there's DEFINITELY still time to catch up. Ep 4 drops tomorrow, but here's a lil' taste of Marcia in "Red Flowers, Brown Skin"

I realize I need to use my person tumblr to be annoying about podcasts more so here is my review of the new Technomancy Project episode that I posted on twitter from a quiet room at work because I would not have been able to focus on anything else if I didn't post right then since this episode absolutely wrecked shop on my heart and I couldn't scream about it in office

The Technomancy Project is the latest addition of the ever growing list of podcasts that made me cry at my desk at work

I was not emotionally prepared for this episode at all

Seriously going into it I was like haha medieval theme and teasers about zombies spooooky! And then what it ended up being was "Jason is immortal and has found his lost lover and has to kill his lost lover" and then I'm crying at my desk

Every memory of Crispin had me stopping everything I was doing to just stare blankly at my computer with my hand over my mouth like some kind of fainting Victorian woman

And then when Jason is talking to Crispin in the museum at the end??? More tears how dare you

Also I still love the dynamic between Jason, Eli, and Allie. They are a found family and besties who also kinda hate each other (affectionate) Allie and Eli are the people Jason would risk anything for and it makes me very emotional. Also the fact that they are willing to do anything to help Jason now!!! After season 1 you can really see how their friendship has grown and its incredible

Once I stopped crying at my desk, the Jason lore reveal had me like

I really really love the Technomancy Project and will be rotating this episode in my head for the rest of the day. Idk how I managed to get work done when this episode exists and is as glorious as it is, but I found a way I guess

🎭- podcast with best ensemble cast

Oh this is so hard there are so many podcasts with excellent ensembles

I think I'm gonna cheat and give 2: @thekilda and Super Suits

The ensemble in The Secret of St Kilda (horror/thriller/mystery elements) provides both levity and also some serious heart punching moments and builds out the show beautifully

The Super Suits (superhero legal comedy) ensemble is laugh out loud hilarious and gives each character life and agency even when they're only in a single episode

I highly highly recommend checking out both shows!
