⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ 🩰 … ONE. IF I WAS A RICH GIRL
Aikawa Chouka was born on March 14th, 1999 in Milan, Italy. And unlike most in her field, she was born into immense wealth and prestige. Her father, Aikawa Chujirō (also known as Michael Aikawa), is the current president and CEO of the Aikawa Group. Originally founded in 1969 as a technology conglomerate, the company sold its shares twenty years later for $20 billion, turning itself into a sprawling holdings company. Owning mostly luxury brands (including Versace), they also own multiple department stores in the United States such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy’s, and even Paramount. The Aikawa Group has been touted as the “Samsung of Japan,” and with a net worth of over $480 billion, the Aikawa family is the richest in the world.
Meanwhile, Chouka’s mother, Nakamura Aiko (also known as Liliane Aikawa) is an accomplished, London-born actress and designer, as the founder of luxury lifestyle brand Lily by Liliane, as well as a socialite, art dealer, and former model. Aiko was born into a family older and wealthier than her husband’s (or at least that would’ve been true in 1990), and is the only child of Nakamura Hiroaki, the president of the Nakamura Foods Company. Founded all the way back in 1909 (although the Nakamura family was rather high up in Japanese society generations prior), the food packing conglomerate is worth over $20 billion. Like her husband’s family, Aiko’s family also owns a department store, having acquired ownership of the Tokyu Department Store in 2009.
Obviously, Chouka grew up in the lap of luxury. Living in Milan for the first five years of her life, she attended a Japanese international school and learned her native language of Japanese, along with Italian and English. In 2004, Chouka and her family moved to Kyoto. And due to her family’s wealth, they would spend a lot of time moving.
During the summers of 2009 and 2010, they would live in three separate cities: Berlin, Amsterdam, and Paris. Starting in 2011, they would live in Singapore for a year. And finally, in 2015, the Aikawa family would move for the final time to the wealthy neighborhood of Aoyama in Tokyo. Chouka completed her final two years of high school there, and was involved in quite a few extracurriculars. She was a cheerleader, a member of her school’s tennis team, and she served as editor-in-chief of its newspaper club. Chouka would move again in 2016, but without her parents this time. She spent that winter at a boarding school in Switzerland, like most rich girls of her caliber.
By then, Chouka was a seasoned ballet dancer. At the age of three, she was placed in classes by her mother at the request of Chouka’s grandmother. She attended two separate ballet academies at some point: the Dutch National Ballet Academy and the Paris Opera Ballet. For years, Chouka believed that she would become the world’s next prima, but the universe had different plans.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ 🩰 … TWO. DRESS TO IMPRESS
For the most part, Chouka’s childhood was normal. However, when you have a designer for a mother, you tend to get dragged to a whole lot of fashion shows. At the tender age of thirteen, she attended her first show for Dior. And it wasn’t just that, either. Chouka grew up watching her grandmother order couture from Paris and Milan, she would be gifted old pieces from her mother, and her father even gifted her Louis Vuitton for her tenth birthday. After that Dior show, however, Chouka’s entire world changed.
She became quite obsessed with fashion, and she would spend hours flipping through fashion magazines or rummaging through her mother’s closet. All the balls and launch parties and red carpet events that Chouka would attend with her family changed her outlook on fashion, and after she was scouted by a modeling agency at fifteen, her interest only grew. She attended Fashion Weeks in Tokyo and New York, and modeled for brands like Betsey Johnson.
Chouka kind of knew that her career as a model was temporary, though, and her “true calling” was a fashion designer or journalist (courtesy of her mother). With the rise of the beauty guru, Chouka’s interest in fashion blogs, and all the time she spent on Instagram, however, she decided that, instead, she would become social media famous.
In 2015, Chouka launched a blog of her own: Love Moda. This was unusual for her family, as like the real-life, Japanese rendition of the Young family from Crazy Rich Asians, they were notoriously private. They would sporadically appear in news articles, Aiko would give the occasional magazine interview solely for brand reasons or to promote a new project, and Chujirō mainly limited his media appearances to business publications. Obviously, though, Chouka had vastly different aspirations. Love Moda was mentioned in an editorial she did with Tatler, and that kind of exposure—plus the fact that she had money—made interest in her blog skyrocket. By 2016, it had amassed over 10,000 readers.
By the next year, Chouka had cemented herself as a somewhat of a “baby influencer.” Despite the invites to Paris fashion shows and the articles being written about her in Vogue, however, she was far from mainstream. Her small legion of fans wanted her to be, though. Chouka was asked to start a YouTube channel by one of them, and so on May 19th, 2017, she did.
Chouka was already a bit of a “micro-celebrity,” so by the summer, her sizable following had transferred to her new channel. Her YouTube gradually begin to grow larger than her blog as the beauty community gained traction themselves, and her status as the “Aikawa Group heiress” was definitely a selling point, alongside her feminine, “rich girl” fashion and peculiar accent. By the end of 2017, the brand deals were beginning to roll in, and everyone was gradually starting to know her name.
In 2018, a particular video of Chouka’s suddenly went viral. What followed afterwards was the exact mainstream fame that she’d been looking for. She moved to Los Angeles from New York and was scoring ambassadorships with the likes of Kate Spade, Nina Ricci, and even Prada. She was getting invited to award shows, launch parties, and was a seasoned Fashion Week attendee at that point. And by 2019, Chouka blew up even further. She was named “fashion’s newest It girl,” she made her way into the acting industry, and it was pretty much impossible to escape her.
2018 was also a rather difficult year for her, though. At that point, Chouka had been a ballerina for sixteen years. But with her rising career online, she knew that she couldn’t pursue her lifelong dream of prima stardom without giving up her YouTube career.
Although ballet would always have a special place in her heart, her career aspirations had obviously changed. Even then, though, Chouka was still training, and she still wanted to attend another ballet academy. But balancing that and what clearly transformed from a hobby into her way of life was asking for too much. So that year, Chouka hung up her pointe shoes and bid goodbye to ballet. That decision was a difficult one, but it was probably for the best, as her career as an influencer has done more for her than a ballet career ever would. And there was still a whole lot more in store.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ 🩰 … THREE. ALL THE INFLUENCE IN THE WORLD
Within the next five years, Chouka would grow to become one of the best fashion influencers on the planet, with 11 million subscribers, over twenty brand deals, and countless successful business ventures to her name. Even with a billion dollar bank account, though, she—like most influencers nowadays—couldn’t help but branch into the music industry.
In late 2023, Chouka signed to Republic Records and Avex Trax to manage her American and Japanese activities, promising her fans a debut by the next year. And on April 5th, 2024, she fulfilled her promise. Debuting with the single “Girls Don’t Cry,” her debut was a smash hit. Surprisingly, it was received far better than the music of other influencers, nearly becoming a No. 1 hit and turning Chouka into an up and coming pop princess. Even with her previously existing and clearly successful career, Chouka has plans for an album, a Japanese debut, and a potential Korean debut. Her first single already has fans eager to see what she has next, and her next projects can turn her into not only an It girl of the fashion world, but an It girl of the music industry, as well.

tumblr is incessantly recommending me fandom blogs of the “incorrect quotes” style. no matter how many i block (or how many times i block them) i will be seeing posts about incorrect batfam (whatever that is), poolverine, percy jackson etc day after day. and because obviously these are run by cognitively and creatively challenged reprobates the posts are mostly identical between blogs with only the names of the characters switched - they don’t really deal in original content. there’s one i’ve been seeing a lot lately that goes like
x: y and i are having a baby.
your name: that’s great.
x (slams adoption papers on the desk): it’s you, sign here.
and while there’s something to be said about the fetishisation of infantilisation in fandom spaces here, i’m not really interested in that. i AM however fascinated by the concept of “adoption papers” being some kind of contractual transferring of parental rights done by the child, who is obviously the object rather than the subject of those rights (and would in any case be missing the necessary contractual capacity even if they possessed the right to parent themselves). or alternatively this is signalling a belief in a legal system where the adoption of adults is an established legal option? wait do americans do adult adoptions (i’m assuming most of these posters are american)? WAIT THEY DO LOL ok post cancelled. very much giving the twelve tablets here but ok ok. not the weirdest thing i know about common law
obvi i was writing this with a lot of hate in my heart for those blogs and the people who run them but i have to take the L here. you can in fact adopt adults in the usa! in true roman fashion you can even adopt people older than you! in some states you can even adopt siblings, and even if they’re adults! probably you can even adopt your own mom!
there was this really ominous info on some adoption agency page about spousal adoption but i’m taking that to mean it’s simply not statutorily prohibited to adopt one’s spouse but that it obviously wouldn’t happen under any judge’s discretion. but like … why the hell not adopt your husband too. why the hell not
real teachable moment for me. i mean straight up adoption does sound like an inelegant solution to inheritance and guardianship issues but i suppose part of that is the culture shock …
anyway incorrect quotes bloggers you are repulsive on an individual level but ig i missed with this one. i guess you daydreaming about being adult adopted by deadpool is the result of the legal culture of your surroundings and not a personal failure
now i wanna know how common is adult adoption in europe tho. can you adopt adults in france yes you can. germany yes you can. i’m going to bed
#so far poland is the only state i checked not allowing this shit. i feel sick#is not wanting to be able to be the father to my older brother a catholic impulse?#am i in the wrong? is the institution of family ties just another rkc lie?

The science and art of complex systems
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/the-science-and-art-of-complex-systems/
The science and art of complex systems
As a high school student, Gosha Geogdzhayev attended Saturday science classes at Columbia University, including one called The Physics of Climate Change. “They showed us a satellite image of the Earth’s atmosphere, and I thought, ‘Wow, this is so beautiful,’” he recalls. Since then, climate science has been one of his driving interests.
With the MIT Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences and the BC3 Climate Grand Challenges project, Geogdzhayeva is creating climate model “emulators” in order to localize the large-scale data provided by global climate models (GCMs). As he explains, GCMs can make broad predictions about climate change, but they are not proficient at analyzing impacts in localized areas. However, simpler “emulator” models can learn from GCMs and other data sources to answer specialized questions. The model Geogdzhayev is currently working on will project the frequency of extreme heat events in Nigeria.
A senior majoring in physics, Geogdzhayev hopes that his current and future research will help reshape the scientific approach to studying climate trends. More accurate predictions of climate conditions could have benefits far beyond scientific analysis, and affect the decisions of policymakers, businesspeople, and truly anyone concerned about climate change.
“I have this fascination with complex systems, and reducing that complexity and picking it apart,” Geogdzhayev says.
His pursuit of discovery has led him from Berlin, Germany, to Princeton, New Jersey, with stops in between. He has worked with Transsolar KlimaEngineering, NASA, NOAA, FU Berlin, and MIT, including through the MIT Climate Stability Consortium’s Climate Scholars Program, in research positions that explore climate science in different ways. His projects have involved applications such as severe weather alerts, predictions of late seasonal freezes, and eco-friendly building design.
The written word
Originating even earlier than his passion for climate science is Geogdzhayev’s love of writing. He recently discovered original poetry dating back all the way to middle school. In this poetry he found a coincidental throughline to his current life: “There was one poem about climate, actually. It was so bad,” he says, laughing. “But it was cool to see.”
As a scientist, Geogdzhayev finds that poetry helps quiet his often busy mind. Writing provides a vehicle to understand himself, and therefore to communicate more effectively with others, which he sees as necessary for success in his field.
“A lot of good work comes from being able to communicate with other people. And poetry is a way for me to flex those muscles. If I can communicate with myself, and if I can communicate myself to others, that is transferable to science,” he says.
Since last spring Geogdzhayev has attended poetry workshop classes at Harvard University, which he enjoys partly because it nudges him to explore spaces outside of MIT.
He has contributed prolifically to platforms on campus as well. Since his first year, he has written as a staff blogger for MIT Admissions, creating posts about his life at MIT for prospective students. He has also written for the yearly fashion publication “Infinite Magazine.”
Merging both science and writing, a peer-reviewed publication by Geogdzhayev will soon be published in the journal “Physica D: Nonlinear Phenomena.” The piece explores the validity of climate statistics under climate change through an abstract mathematical system.
Leading with heart
Geogdzhayev enjoys being a collaborator, but also excels in leadership positions. When he first arrived at MIT, his dorm, Burton Conner, was closed for renovation, and he could not access that living community directly. Once his sophomore year arrived however, he was quick to volunteer to streamline the process to get new students involved, and eventually became floor chair for his living community, Burton 1.
Following the social stagnation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the dorm renovation, he helped rebuild a sense of community for his dorm by planning social events and governmental organization for the floor. He now regards the members of Burton 1 as his closest friends and partners in “general tomfoolery.”
This sense of leadership is coupled with an affinity for teaching. Geogdzhayev is a peer mentor in the Physics Mentorship Program and taught climate modeling classes to local high school students as a part of SPLASH. He describes these experiences as “very fun” and can imagine himself as a university professor dedicated to both teaching and research.
Following graduation, Geogdzhayev intends to pursue a PhD in climate science or applied math. “I can see myself working on research for the rest of my life,” he says.

Paul Temple: The Quick and The Dead (Seventies TV Season)
The introduction to this series of posts about 1970s TV shows can be found here:
I have very briefly touched on the Paul Temple 'franchise' on this blog's predecessor but have never yet blogged about a whole episode. I am going to have to refer you to the relevant wikipedia page for the full details of the many books, radio plays, films and these TV programmes made featuring the fictional crime writer and detective. I am also going to have to refer you to WIkipedia for the full choppy history of this TV series, because it suffered from inexplicable BBC lack of interest. The show was broadcast across four series between 1969 and 1971, and became wildly popular in Germany. The BBC for unrecorded reasons seemed to lose interest in it, and so the final series, including this episode, was rather focusless. The series then suffered from the junking policies of the time. The upshot is that the only way to experience all of the remaining available episodes of this show is to watch them dubbed into German. It's bizarre.
As it happens this fourth series episode from 1971 is an absolute cracker of a TV programme. It's like the show took all the ingredients guaranteed to make a drama successful in the seventies and mixed them up. There is a strong streak of folk horror in this one: we have inbred villagers, an ancient Pagan site, suspected current Pagan worship, all sorts of unexplained goings on, an apparent suicide, a supposedly mystified vicar, a young lad who is creepily the only child in the village and spends his days playing the organ in the church and being screamed at by his working class father... And then into the middle of this Temple and his wife Steve walk in like fashion plates and Temple blows the whole thing apart.
You'll notice that I'm making a point of being fulsome in this episode's praise first because I want to make it plain that the criticisms I'm going to make of this show don't mean I don't think you should watch it. This show is so lush and layered that it can't actually fail, but there are a few things I've found myself wondering.
A major thing is that you'll recall I said above that Paul Temple is a detective novelist and detective, and then the features I list above are not characteristic of a detective story. In that it also tends to be a bit different to many of the other episodes of the series I've seen. In fact I would go so far as to say that this is an MR James-style ghost story, rather than a straightforward Paul Temple in the mould of Francis Durbridge. If you want a more recent inspiration for the approach, you could possibly look to Hammer or one of Tigon's anthology films. You get the idea.
They made the decision, rightly, to accompany much of the programme with organ music. This was absolutely the right thing to do because it gives exactly the right horror film ethos. Some of the time we see an actual organ in an actual church being played, and the rest of the time virtually all of the interiors are sets, which is where it rather tends to go wrong in my opinion. The problem with the visuals is that this show can't decide what decade it's depicting. We see Temple and Steve dressed up to date, in synthetic fabrics, Temple with his shirt open almost to the waist, and they're standing in what looks like a set for a 1930s drama. Probably an Agatha Christie. It's the interiors of the cottages they're got wrong, and they should have done what they did for the church, and show an old place with gradual additions over the years, in other words the way anyone else decorates their house. Instead what we actually get is scenes that look like they're set in the seventies and then the scenes in the cottages look as if they're set in the thirties, with nothing visually dating from before or after. This is my only real criticism of this, that it makes the change from one scene to another seem wrong.
To me this feels like a loss of interest in quality control and I have read that there were a number of ways the final series really wasn't attended to properly, and it honestly shows. You don't get that in the earlier episodes I've seen. Another example is that to a native British person it is apparent that the boy is of a completely different class from his biological father, who also comes form a completely different part of the country, despite them all supposedly having been villagers since Doomsday. If you recall the Monty Python sketch about the poet father who disapproves of his coal miner son it is as ridiculous as that, only the other way round.
I suppose you could also say that there is too much going on in this show, but I personally like the sheer volume of stuff they've got in.
As I say, I don't think you should let these criticisms put you off: this is an excellent episode of a rather diverse and layered programme, which is well out of the ordinary for seventies TV shows.

Blogger
The term blogger has a double meaning. On the one hand, this can mean the free blog hosting platform blogger.com from Google and, on the other hand, a person who runs their blog.
Blogger (Human)
Bloggers are people who run a weblog for private or business reasons and publish articles called “posts” there at regular intervals. Posts by bloggers are usually characterized by the fact that they reflect subjective points of view. This subjectivity can relate to an individual, to a group, or even to an entire brand or corporate identity. A blogger can also be referred to as a linker if he reaches a large number of other people with his contributions because of his personality or position.
https://namelocals.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Blogger.jpeg
Subjects
When it comes to topics, bloggers are not limited because no topic cannot be blogged about. For this reason, there are fashion bloggers, car bloggers, political bloggers, etc. Some bloggers also join together to form community blogs, where several editors write articles on a common topic.
Private vs. Commercial
The number of bloggers living in Germany cannot be precisely estimated. Some say that more than 100,000 people blog regularly. However, the total number of blogs is declining, as the ARD/ZDF online study 2013 shows. One reason for this trend is certainly that blogs in Germany are less integrated into the social web than in Anglo-Saxon countries or the USA. There, many bloggers can make a living from their blogs.
SEO Blogger
Blogging is particularly popular in the SEO scene because blogs are an important source of information for industry professionals. Well-known SEO blogs are, for example, the blog by Mediadonis or the SEO book. In Anglo-Saxon countries, for example, Moz or Matt Cutts’ blog.
Blogger.com (blog system)
Blogger is a service offering from the product portfolio of the Google group. The Blogger.com site allows users to register with a Google account and run their blog. Blogger.com is characterized by a simple, free blog CMS, for which bloggers neither have HTML knowledge nor need to rent web space.
Story
The blog hosting service Blogger was founded in 1999 by the company Pyra Labs. Blogger has been part of Google since 2003. A year later, features from the Picasa photo editor and the Hello program were integrated into Blogger’s features. Since then, users of the blogger system have been able to integrate photos into their posts even more easily.
In 2004, blogger.com was updated in both design and functionality. Similar to WordPress, it was now possible to upload postings via email.
Since 2006, all blogs created with a Google account have been exclusively on Google Inc. servers. In the same year, other new functions were introduced, such as inserting new designs using drag-drop and RSS feeds.
Advantages and disadvantages of the blog hosting system Blogger
Anyone who starts their blog with Blogger.com has many advantages, which are briefly listed here:
free hosting
easy blog creation
simple, almost intuitive handling with a single Google account
Blogging with multiple users is possible
easy monetization through easy integration of Google AdSense
easy posting via the Google Toolbar
Quickly create and upload content with Microsoft Windows
The disadvantages would be:
often monotonous design
few customization options compared to other blog systems
IP needs to be shared with many other blogs
In principle, the user is free to redirect the content from Blogger to his domain. Blogs created with Blogger can be recognized by their address form: examplename.blogspot.com
Blogger as a blog system and SEO
Setting backlinks en masse via blogs has long been a tried and tested means for SEOs to increase link popularity. Blogger.com was right on time with its offer to create free blogs quickly and easily. However, the SEO scene and the algorithms of the search engines have changed in the meantime and it is not advisable to do massive link-building via Blogger.com.
However, if you also want to use the blog hosting system for SEO purposes, you can consider Blogger.com as an additional portal to transport content that is picked up by others. Thanks to the excellent integration of Blogger’s blog content into the Google search engine index, the content is very easily accessible. This fact can be an advantage when it comes to getting more reach with a .blogspot.com address. However, the same SEO rules apply to indexing as to all web projects.

Mini-response looks at Hashtags
Hashtags are undoubtedly the most popular function to use on Instagram, so that individuals can gain more exposure and receive additional likes. According to this website, this is the most popular/used hashtag; #love (2.1B posts). This hashtag can be used in a variety of ways to represent certain things or topics. So, I will look at the following two accounts that decided to use the hashtag and discuss the way that it is used.
For example, the first post is made up of two pictures of the influencer, with the caption “City Strolls in #ffm (emoji) with @coralistaa.” At first, this suggests that the person simply wants to share that they are on a stroll with a friend in Frankfurt, Germany. However, on the second picture another account is tagged in @dailybloggerstars and upon closer inspection the account promotes bloggers on Instagram (based in Germany) and offers cooperations with other companies. This indicates that the influencer’s goal is to be recognized by the account, as a successful blogger and gain more exposure for their platform by using the hashtag #love. Additionally, the influencer decided to use other extremely popular hashtags i.e., #fashion, #ootd #citytrip. So, the way that the influencer decided to use #love is to show her audience that she loves/likes to take strolls in Frankfurt, as it is a beautiful city. And aims to receive more exposure to be noticed by a popular account on Instagram, as then it would lead to possible cooperations with other companies/brands and gain more followers.
In contrast, the second post is a critical review about a recent movie called Whale (2022). The post is made up of a single image from the movie with the title ‘Review’ and four other accounts are tagged. Upon further investigation the account tagged an actor, along with A24 related accounts (known for posting about movies, actors etc.) and a podcast that discusses all things related to Brendan Fraser (lead actor in the movie Whale). This indicates that the user is not only trying to express his love for the movie, through the #love function, but also wants to directly show this to other verified Instagram accounts that focus on movies. Additionally, the user uses all the possible hashtags that can be related to the actor, movie, and cinema. Therefore, this indicates that they want their opinion about the movie to be widely known across the whole media platform and hopefully gain some followers; who like to read honest reviews, so that they could watch it too and not waste their time watching movies that are not that good.
Overall, the #love function can be used to express likeness/love towards a particular thing or discussion. Hence, this makes the hashtag widely usable for all Instagram users, as it can be used in a wide range of contexts allowing the #love page to be filled with different posts/reels. Ironically, due to the large usage of the hashtag, multiple posts are being posted in a matter of seconds. This can lead the user to be easily overwhelmed and likable posts will be discarded. Hence, making it harder for individuals to gain exposure.
Disclaimer: Tumblr is not allowing me to upload the final image of the influencers account, so please use the links provided to view the accounts/websites in their full form.
