So Sienna’s favorite “regular” person is Letty ( @eddiemunscns ). She’s her best friend in the whole world and is the sunshine to Sienna’s storm cloud.

Sienna’s favorite celebrity is Hayden Christensen. He shaped her taste in guys growing up, and she’s watched everything he’s ever been in. Anakin Skywalker will always be her first childhood crush and she loves how sweet and humble Hayden is. She’s met him once as a convention and she nearly died. Letty had to calm her down afterward, but he was so very sweet and kind to her.

Sienna cannot stand her ex, Luke. Most people she knows think he’s a twat anyway, but he cheated on her for months during their two year long relationship and when she found out and broke up with him, he convinced her she would never be good enough for anyone and would never be enough for anyone to keep them from cheating on her again. He absolutely obliterated any self worth she had and it’s a mountain she struggles to get over and climb.

Can you rate your monsters in terms of who gets hottest under the collar if you enact skillful violence in their defense to who absolutely hates any confrontation for their sake? Which monsters see you headbutt someone and make it a bar brawl defending their honor/safety and immediately start thinking about tearing your clothes off? I think Caspian/shark hottie's right in the middle of the scale, and he thinks it's ever-so-cute and it gets a little smile from him anytime you viciously defend him.

Simon is our number one violence fan here, if you so much as lifted a finger for him, he'd be all over it. He'll read into fucking anything, you fighting for him, it might as well be a marriage proposal

Vincent does not like violence in theory but he does very much like you and the second you throw a punch for him he'd be absolutely swooning, hearts in his eyes

Do not do this in front of subject 251 unless you want them dead!! He doesn’t understand it as a protective thing he assumes you’re fighting to kill and they will be dead soon. He loves you fighting for him but they will be deceased

Caspian is vaguely amused more than anything, a little smile on his face for sure but it does make him a little nervous, especially because you’re probably fighting outside the water where it’s difficult for him to help if he needs to

Rook has a bit of a savior complex and I think he'd be hyped about it, but part of him would be like, damn I didn't get to help them�� He wants to watch you do sick kicks and stuff after tho he makes you do a whole little show for him, maybe tries to get you to flip him just to see if you can

Posy fucks with it Hard she’s hitting people too, she’d be with you. She would however likely get herself hurt in the process and then be a little grouchy at you later (she would forgive and forget quickly but she’s giving you huffs and crossed arms for at least an hour)

Nocturne would not be into this he’d be trying to usher you out the door like can we just go?? Why are we hitting people lol, don’t give these assholes the time of day

Lucien is at the bottom but he is the most volatile. In most instances he is kind of annoyed, it draws attention to both of you and it’s unnecessary, he’s not big on physical conflicts. However if it is at an actually dangerous person like Eden he’s both proud of you and so pissed you would put yourself in danger, he might yell at you after bc you Cannot be throwing yourself into these situations. He’d be more supportive the period where you’re super agoraphobic, he’s ur number one fan but he’s so worried about you you cannot be doing this

Akane’s backpack is super big, arguably bigger than Nene’s, so let’s talk about it.

We know why Nene’s bag is full: her plan was to stay with Hanako forever so she brought lots of things.

But Akane is just part of their rescue mission, which makes him comically overpacked.

He is the only character whose bag Aidairo put a light focus on it too, and they did it twice: First in this twitter art, where he stays up late to pack.

Then in the chibi art of vol 17, where things like the water bottle, food, and berry flavored snacks are flying as the characters fall: All items we see Akane putting in his backpack at night.

Even the fallen items we don’t see him pack, like the band-aids, the bread sticks and such, are all ‘essential’ items, which feels very Akane considering our only other reference points are Nene, who just packed games, and Teru, who packed a chopped demon hand, and yet there isn’t a single fun game or exorcist tool in the art.

But why did Akane pack so much? He has no hidden agenda like Nene, his plan was to work with the team: Once he saved Aoi he indulged enough to hug her, but was still quick to regroup, ready to get back. He even got angry at the Minamoto brothers for fighting instead of focusing on the mission.

He truly didn’t seem to have a grand personal plan, so I’m assuming it was a precaution.

Akane took this mission very serious. All the information he had is that they would go through a well, so he dressed up in complete hiking clothes, including gloves, and even brought a flashlight.

I believe he got ready for anything that could go wrong, including the worst possibility possible: That Aoi might be beyond saving. 

I cannot see any other reason why he would pack a big blanket (which is rolled up on top of his bag), and so much comfort food (him and Aoi likes raspberries).

He wants them both to live, and he will do everything he can to achieve that, but if they had proven to be too late and Akane was informed Aoi can’t come with them, he wouldn’t hesitate to stay behind with her. Because he loves Aoi more than his own life.

Abandoning her again just isn’t an option.

I asked my last period class if anybody had read all of David Copperfield so far without skipping any (I told them to skip some so as to keep up with it if they had to.) none of them raised their hands. I did a hand heart thing (this one, 🫶) and then snapped it in half. they all went “noooooooooo”

My high school did a yearly poetry recitation contest (Poetry Out Loud), so Oh Boy do I know some poems. My favorites are Ozymandias and "the world is about to end and my grandparents are in love," by Kara Jackson. Also in 8th grade we had a Poe unit and had a class contest to make the best music video of the Raven, so I still know a good chunk of that.

i hadn't heard of the kara jackson one! just read through it and enjoyed it, particularly these lines > 'grandma returns to her love like a hymn, marks it with a color. // when the world ends will it suck the earth of all its love? /will i go taking somebody’s hand, / my skin becoming their skin?'

Realitatea Ilustrată ("Reality Illustrated, or Things As We See Them")

This is the (I think) February 20th, 1927 issue of a long-running Romanian illustrated newspaper. Ever since I found a December 1934 issue in an antique shop years ago, perusing old issues of illustrated newspapers has become a hobby of mine. It delights me to no end that these talked of exactly what you'd think an early 20th century Balkan newspaper might be talking about.

"God, that war in China sounds like a catastrophe", " Isn't it weird that people still believe in strigoi (vampires)?" and, of course "Hey uhh... what's going on over in Italy? Guys? It sounds like we should be concerned about that stuff."

It also has a lot of stuff like this:

Long, moralizing thinkpieces trying to figure out and explain the perils of the world to a population that was hungry for knowledge despite not being fully literate. In "The eternal peril - war" the writer tries his hand at broad historical analysis, to explain how the insincerity of conniving politicians and the failures of educated elites (here named "philosophers", but broadly referring to the intelligentsia of the time) will inevitably lead to revolution and war. He even expresses a hope that a brighter future lies ahead, where universal literacy and education will make people less prone to violence and more able to settle disputes through negotiation and compromise.

Looking around today, it's a quaint perspective. Almost 100 years later, we both have and have not arrived at that prophesized, hopeful future. Political violence on the scale of 1920's Europe is nearly unthinkable today (as in, trains loaded with veterans no longer machinegun communist revolutionaries by the score in the streets - that's the atmosphere of the 20s), but it has been replaced with stuff that's alienating, dehumanizing, isolating and corrosive to the soul. We joke about what modern things would blow a medieval peasant's mind but explain the concept of social media and the rise of Qanon to a poor 1920s Balkan gazetteer and he will buy a ticket to the big city just to find a tall building to leap to his death from.

If you want to imagine the future, imagine today's problems persisting in a reduced, mutated form and supplanted by greater, stupider, more incomprehensible problems.

Tess would say that her eyes are probably her best feature physically and her personality is her best non physical feature. Her eyes are just very big and they are a nice shade of brown you don’t normally see.

Her family think her best feature is her personality for sure. She’s so unique and true to herself and they love that about her.

Jamie thinks her best feature is her mouth. Particularly when she smiles. Even more so when she smiles at something he said or is just smiling because of him in general. He loves seeing her happy because of him.

doc after is3 ending 3 spending most of whatever free time they have given the circumstances by the ocean. maybe they wade just a little ways in and the water feels a little different than before, somehow more viscous yet easier to move through, like it’s pulling them in and pushing them away at the same time. maybe they watch the setting sun bathe the surface in red and their tears make the sea just a little more salty. maybe if they focus hard enough they can still see his face in the water, maybe they would go out at night to see the soft blue glow in the gentle waves lapping at the shore, so beautiful a sight yet such a bitter evocation of their last memories of Him as he was

Mea tormenta, properate! as interpreted by Josef Orlinski - rewired my fucking brain, helped me visualize a character who is very important to me and allowed me to elucidate a fictional religious movement.

Children of the Omnissiah by Guillaume David - I blame @theotherwesley introducing me to this one a few weeks ago. It's become very meaningful and personally inspiring to me. The weight of this track is the weight of the ages shifting.

Herr Mannelig as interpreted by Wolfenmond - my friend Wub introduced me to the many versions of Herr Mannelig and I haven't been the same since. The song of folk tales from places overtaken by modernity.

Combine Harvester by Kelly Bailey - it's been nearly 20 years but this one continues to shake me. The sound of overwhelming power descending from a smoke-choked sky, the sound of the world changing. Again, very relevant to my creative writing.

Sands of Serkonos by the late, great Daniel Licht and Copilot Music - I was never going to get through this listing without a fucking Dishonored song. If you know me, you know I'm actually exhibiting great restraint in simply linking the one. The song of a dying golden age. The cobblestone streets have craters in them, the old walls are riddled with holes and covered in wires and pipes. The new century grows over the old one.
