Hishida Shunso - Cat and Plum Blossoms, 1906
color on silk, 49.8 x 118 cm
Adachi Museum of Art
This depiction of a quiet, cold, early spring day portrays a cat crouching underneath an old plum tree. The soft spring sun is tempting to the cat but sleep seems to be prevailing. Shunso liked, and often, drew cats. He particularly liked to illustrate black/white spotted cats, and black cats. The realistic cat and the impressive tree trunk are drawn by using an ink diffusion technique. They contrast each other beautifully, suggesting that Shunso, at the time, had sought to integrate the concepts of realism and decoration. He is thought to have perfected this technique in 1910 with his picture – “Black Cat”. via

Welcome, Japanese archaeologists, on this occasion I present to you a situation regarding the Western and Eastern world, two sides of the same coin, be it art history, archeology, geography, among other topics, I come to expose the great imbalance that There is in regards to these two currents, having said that, make yourself comfortable and let's begin.
-
In the photo on my left hand we can clearly see the countries that encompass the Far Eastern currents, which is the particular topic of the publication, and on the right side we can see some Western countries, among others. I am going to use the wisest words to explain this imbalance of currents, which unfortunately, seems that the Westernists are implanting the idea of the 19th century that the Western is better than the Far East, since the Orient is in Cochinchina, since it is It has him in a lower rank and that is not the case. If we ask people on the street, 90% of the people, if you asked them things about this topic, the most likely thing is that they do not know anything, because they lack ignorance, but that is not their fault, but how things have been taught by the governments of the different Western countries.
-
Other points that we are going to summarize in this paragraph would be the people who spread it and ferment Westernization, eradicating the orientalization of the Far East, it is normal that the people who spread things, from the Far East, do not have enough support or only from one side.
-
I hope you liked it, postscript I am giving my point of view, most likely there are people who do not share it, others do and others stay away, see you in future publications.

The International Military Tribunal for the Far East-aka The Tokyo War Crimes Trial.
Most people will have heard of the Nuremberg Trials, but few have heard of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East (IMTFE), or Tokyo War Crimes Trial. The Nuremberg trials are often criticized because of the low number of convictions of Nazi War criminals. The conviction rate of International Military Tribunal for the Far East was even lower. Most surprisingly the Japanese Emperor,…

Maruyama Ōkyo - Dragon and Tiger, 1770
Pair of hanging scrolls: ink on silk (dragon), ink and color on silk (tiger), 198 × 64.1 cm
The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Auspicious images of dragons and tigers stand out as among the most popular Chinese pictorial themes transplanted to Japan. The East Asian dragon, usually represented surrounded by clouds, is associated with water, embodying a dynamic natural force manifest in thunderstorms. The dragon is said to preside over the heavens, while the tiger, an animal not native to Japan, is believed to rule the earth.
In the right-hand scroll of this entirely monochrome composition, Maruyama Ōkyo depicts the dragon emerging from clouds rendered in the layers of soft washes for which the artist was famous. At left, the tiger—its fur meticulously picked out in fine brushstrokes—glares upward at the dragon but displays little suggestion of ferocity, as is typical of Japanese depictions. via

okay i'm hitting the last post 90's year for research for the princess theatre (the archive ends after 2010) which i dont expect to take me much more than an hour max if that.... and then i have to return to the doc and decide what is missing and how to redirect it. I just do not have the knowledge that the original writer has about film and honestly i think it detracts somewhat from the history of the theatre/edmonton history and I will end up cutting a lot anyway, so I'm trying as much as possible to get examples and reactions of queer films shown there just to give people an idea that yes, actually, they were showing films about gays and lesbians in the 80s, and yes they were featuring films about drag in the 90s and films with trans main characters in 2005 etc etc rather than a treatise on new queer cinema globally because we just don't have the time for an essay within an essay, frankly.
even outside of films shown there were other events where the community either made films at the theatre or held vigils outside of it that are worth mentioning too and I just don't want that to get completely swamped in academic film studies level movements.

Russia is rotting, giving China a huge range of options with its declining neighbor. If current trends persist, China can reasonably expect its old territories to one day fall into its lap(..)
P.S. If the Russian imperialists imagine that they will be able to manipulate history with impunity, they are sorely mistaken...others with more power can also play this game...
