Corroded Coffin Fest: May Mayhem Bingo

Come experience the mayhem. The reverse tropes. The other side of the coin. The no good, very bad days. The headaches in the making. The absurd.

Complete any vertical, horizontal or diagonal line of 5 prompts for a bingo. Complete all 25 for a blackout. Prompts cannot be combined on the card. You can combine them with prompts from other blog events, that's totally fine! But to get a bingo for this event here, you'll need to complete prompts separately.

All entries must be posted between May 1st-31st, 2025 — in full. You can connect them in a universe, if you wish, but it all needs to be posted by the end of May.

(I know we have other events that will happen before this one, but with so many possible prompts, I wanted to get this one out early, so everyone that wants to take a crack at it would have plenty of time to work. Plus, the prompts for our 2nd Annual Corroded Coffin Fest main event that takes place in July will drop next month! I didn't want to hit you with two large sets of prompts at once.)

You can interpret the prompts any way you'd like, as long as you've focused on one or more members of Corroded Coffin of your choosing. Just read the guidelines below and have fun!

Anyone that completes at least (1) bingo will get their own masterlist post w/completed card. You may also do individual prompts, without working towards a bingo, if desired. Those entries will be included in the full event masterlist, as always!

All submissions should include any pairings featured, a rating and any content warnings (CW) or tags that you think are appropriate. All explicit material needs be under a cut. All ships are welcome, as long as they include at least one member of Corroded Coffin: Eddie, Jeff, Gareth & Freak. 2024 Murderbot Diaries New Year Gift Exchange

To celebrate Murderbot, we are hosting a fandom gift exchange! This is our third annual Murderbot New Year Gift Exchange! (Prior years' collections are here)

All sorts of fanworks are welcome: fanfic, fanart, playlists, etc. The event will be open to anyone who wants to participate, so long as they have a discord account that they will communicate with the event organizers through.

Timeline:

Main rules:

Keep the gift a secret from your giftee until midnight Feb 1, 2024 UTC. It's a surprise!

Please abide by "Do Not Wants" requested by your giftee. (Eg: if your giftee asks for no apples, please do not make a gift for them that involves apples.)

The event organizers will check in with you via discord direct messages as the deadline approaches. If you fail to respond to check-ins three times in a row, you will be presumed as not being able to complete your gift, and your gift will be reassigned to a pinch hitter.

Submitting your gift through the AO3 Collection is optional. But if you want your gift to be included in the collection, you will need to post it there by Midnight January 31, 2024 UTC, before the collection closes to submissions. This is a fanworks challenge/event that is all about Corroded Coffin. It will take place from July 1st thru July 31st.

This is our second year of having an full month-long event during the month of July. This year's theme is "Media Mania" and all prompts come from the title of another piece of media. You do not, in any way, have to use the actual source for your work(s). Feel free to take the title and interpret it in any way you feel inspired!

Sporty Sunday - All prompts are titles of sports films.

Movie Monday - All prompts are the title of a movie.

Television Tuesday - All prompts are the title of a TV show.

Warbling Wednesday - All prompts are the name of a song.

Thirsty Thursday - All prompts are the title of a song about drinking.

Friday Frights - All prompts are the title of a horror film.

Stephen King Saturday - All prompts are the title of Stephen King book.

For all written word entries, there is a strict word count minimum/maximum of between 300-1000 words. I'll use wordcounter.net to check the word counts before reblogging, so please use that site yourself to double-check your entry before posting to make sure you've stuck to that range! (If you haven't, I'll have to message you to ask you to fix it before it'll be added to the event. So, doing it ahead of time is best for both of us! Thanks!)

Do one prompt, do them all. Hell, do them all twice! It's totally up to you. You can pick and choose what you're interested in. I'm not going to police how you interpret the prompt. Just use them as a jumping off point to be inspired by the boys of Corroded Coffin, and then share that inspiration with us! (Not everything has to be band related, we encourage you to explore other parts of their lives, too!)

MCYT Passover 2025!!!

Hey hi hello! Pesakh is coming up on us much faster than I realized, so here's the prompts list for MCYT Passover 2025, which will take place broadly during the month of April!

You can take as much time as you need on working on these, and there's no signup requirements or anything like that! Just post works under the tag "mcyt passover 2025" during the month of April and make cool MCYT fanworks incorporating pesakh!!! Below the cut are what I hope are helpful but brief descriptions of some of these prompts, for anyone unfamiliar or rusty on their Passover knowledge. If you have any further questions, shoot us an ask or join the Discord!

Four Children:

The Four Children is a part of the Passover seder dedicated, along with much of the rest of the seder, to passing down the stories and traditions of Passover to later generations. Each child asks a question, formed from passages from the Torah, that help illuminate this responsibility of continuing traditions.

The Wise Child

Ten Plagues:

Blood [The Nile turns to blood]

Frogs [Frogs come from the Nile and infest Egypt]

Lice/gnats

Wild animals/flies [Attacking humans and livestock]

Plague upon livestock

Festering boils

Hailstorm

Locusts

Darkness

Death of the firstborn

Seder plate:

Maror [Bitter herbs, typically horseradish]

Chazeret [Typically romaine lettuce or another bitter green]

Charoset [Sweet fruit and nut paste]

Karpas [Another green, usually not bitter, dipped in salt water to represent tears (Ashkenazi custom)]

Zeroa [Roasted lamb bone, to represent the Pesakh sacrifice]

Beitzah [Roasted egg]

Matzo [Three matzot are stacked, with the middle being broken to become the afikomen, the top to become hamotzi, and the bottom to become a Hillel sandwich]

Additional options:

Orange [To represent inclusion of queer Jews and all marginalized within the Jewish community]

Olive [To represent solidarity with Palestinians]

Exodus:

The book of the Torah that describes the Israelites' bondage in Egypt and their Exodus.

Angel of Death:

G-d warned the Israelites to mark their doors with blood so that the Angel of Death would "pass over" their homes and wouldn't kill their firstborns, only those of the Egyptians.

Ma Nishtana:

Ma Nishtana, or the Four Questions, is part of the seder where the youngest child who is able to asks the four questions listed in the Haggadah from Jewish tradition, beginning with the overarching question asked throughout the night: "Why is this night different from all other nights?"

Bedikat chametz:

Bedikat chametz is the pre-Passover search for any chametz (foods prohibited during Passover), traditionally involving a candle, a feather, and a wooden spoon. Afterwards the found chametz are typically burned.

Afikomen:

Afikomen is a piece of matzah hidden during the Seder for people to find and eat as the last piece of the seder; often as a fun activity for children.

Narrow places:

This one, along with history, is a little more conceptual, but there's a lot of discussions, particularly in modern Judaism, about what it means to escape from narrow places, to get out of the worst circumstances. This is part of a long tradition of finding way to connect to the story of Exodus, and today many queer Jews find it significant to compare their experiences getting out of homophobic, heteronormative circumstances to those of the Israelites escaping Egypt.
