Book Review - This Woven Kingdom by Tahereh Mafi
This is a different type of Cinderella story, that's for sure. For one, there's a dragon.
Feel free to share my review and start a conversation!

Across one of the many bright hallways, washed by the burning sun of mid-day, there walked our beloved angel and embodiment of light; and as the designated saint, her guardian, went by name "Thalia".
Anne Marie, she sang lethanies for no one to ever hear, the pawns and knights would say she walked behind the day.
And kings and queens would ask what they even meant.
And shall just simply listen to an ancient tale.
Anne Marie was born at night and will glad fully stay there; behind doors and trees she hid, under willows providing shadows and silence.
Because, they said, Anne Marie was born at night.
And Anne Marie befriended ghosts that nobody else saw.
Shall the dead not live, and if it lived, it shall be under the mud or behind blind spots. It shall envy through the darkness, the angels and the windows.
And shall no one, ever, pay attention to the curtains. When one sees a window, it's a window not a curtain. When one listens breezes, it's the wind, it's not a curtain.

Story Prompt 45
In the midst of a simple conversation that was supposed to be nothing more than just that, a talk took an unexpected turn, igniting a fire of fury within the heart of one individual. The room seemed to shrink as emotions swelled, and the desire to scream clawed at the edges of their consciousness. They felt a surge of anger, unable to fathom how things had escalated to this point. It was as if the world had turned its collective back on them, leaving them feeling isolated and alone.
Locked away from the world, surrounded by the cold bars of their prison, they longed for revenge. But how could they achieve it when every avenue seemed blocked? People walked on eggshells around them, afraid to cross their path, yet willing to do their bidding out of fear. And deep down, hidden beneath layers of resentment, there was a twisted satisfaction in the power they held over others.
"Hey, come here!" a voice pierced through the heavy silence, jolting them from their thoughts.
With a reluctant sigh, they approached the source of the call. "What do you want?" they grumbled, their tone laced with bitterness.
"Can you get me something?" the other person asked, a hint of apprehension in their voice.
With a resigned nod, they muttered, "Sure," before stalking off to fulfill the request.
As they returned with the requested item, a surge of determination coursed through their veins. This was their chance to break free from the confines of their prison, to unlock the chains that bound them and seize control of their destiny.
With deft fingers, they manipulated the lock, the metallic click echoing through the room as the door swung open. Free at last, they wasted no time in shedding the shackles that had held them back for so long.
One minute they were trapped behind bars, the next they were orchestrating their escape, their mind already racing ahead to the next step. They needed allies, a team they could trust to help them navigate the treacherous path ahead.
"Join me," they declared, their voice brimming with conviction. "Together, we can rise to the top."
Their offer hung in the air, the weight of it palpable as they awaited a response.
The other person hesitated, uncertainty flickering in their eyes before they finally nodded. "I'm good at fighting, riding motorcycles, and horses," they offered, a glimmer of hope shining through their words. "I could help you figure out your superpower."
A slow smile spread across the first person's face as they extended a hand, the beginning of a partnership forged in the fires of adversity. "Then it's settled," they said. "Welcome to the team."
