Hello ! Le week-end dernier, j'ai participé aux 25 Heures de la BD et de l'Illustration, dont l'objectif était de réaliser une histoire s'étalant sur au moins 11 pages + 1 page de couverture. Voici donc ma participation, réalisée dans les temps, avec une bien courte nuit de sommeil : "Dr. Flytrap and the Infamous Cigarette !" Thème : Briller de mille feux Contrainte : Faites apparaître une espèce (faune ou flore) menacée/protégée dont le nom scientifique et le nom commun sont cités à la manière d’un documentaire animalier. Cette année étant en partenariat avec Nature En Occitanie, j'ai souhaité faire une histoire autour de la préservation de la nature sans prendre un ton moralisateur; j'espère que c'est plus ou moins réussi, et que ça vous plaira !

this weekend, im gonna attempt the 25hbd challenge, which is drawing a 12 pages comic in 25 hrs on a theme that will be revealed when the event starts on saturday at 1pm fr time (gmt+1)

its the "chill" version of the 23hbd challenge (24 pages in 23 hrs) for those whove seen me blog about it before

This time, a comic I did for a french event, “25h de la BD”, is in vast majority without any speech ! So I can translate it quite easily ahah

I had to draw a comic of 12 pages in 25 hours based on two themes : “in their bubble” and “getting out of the frame/breaking the 4th wall”.

Hello, welcome to my blog ! I'm Anaël, an illustrator and 3d artist. I draw mainly science fiction illustrations, with a heavy focus on the characters from the science fantasy story I'm writing, the Radio Isotope (working title).

What is the Radio Isotope ?

It's a science fantasy space opera set in a remote star cluster, the One With a Thousand Stars.

A crew of pirates desperately looking for a job to make some much needed repairs to their spaceship find a paying passenger and a pretty easy smuggling mission. Finally feeling like luck is on their side, they soon realize that the passenger has brought her own problems aboard.

Chased by the Imperator, the biggest bounty hunter spaceship in the star cluster, the small crew of the Radio Isotope must figure out a way to escape and stay alive, and find out why the Emperor, the captain of the Imperator, wants their passenger.

Meanwhile, a third party bigger than both the pirates and the bounty hunters is weaving its own web, hidden in plain sight.

Echoes : a comic done for the 23hBD 2022. A young Captain, not yet worthy of this name, finds himself in a strange desert after entering a spaceship wreck.

The Dragon's Path : a comic done for the 23hBD 2021. The Lieutenant races in the most dangerous circuit in the galaxy, and learns where its name comes from

First Impressions : Long before she became the Imperator's second in command, Wenn's arrival on the ship and first meeting with the Emperor.

Brighter than the Sun : a comic done for the 23hBD 2023. As they prepare for a race, the Lieutenant finds themself the target of multiple assassination attempts.

Old friend : A bad surprise awaits the Lieutenant after a victory on the Dragon's Path.

Nightmares : Nua can't sleep, Etha comforts her.

A day on the Radio Isotope : a series of illustrations done for the 25hBD 2022. Etha decides to spend the day with each member of her little family.

French - Part 1 - Part 2

This is the first part of my 25h comic challenge that I’ve translated in english for your own enjoyment!

Theme: Shine a thousand lights Constraint: Show an endangered / protected species (fauna or flora) whose scientific name and common name are mentioned in the manner of an animal documentary.

Additional constraints: from Moufff: your story must contain a family of orphaned piglets from Poc: you have to incorporate a diversion like timon and pumba's from the lion king from Christelle: one of your characters must be seen playing hopscotch

Please note that this entire story has been written and drawn in less than 25 hours hence the strange humor, randomness of events and average drawing skills!
