Haven’t posted cosplay on here in a while (cause I haven’t cosplayed in a while) but I attended CPAC 2023 this weekend and debuted my Fantasy Knockout cosplay! I made it in under a month and there were a lot of challenging aspects- the headpiece and boots- to figure out but I’m happy with how it came out! Although I already am planning on remaking a few things to make it even better.
Jan was relaxed and didn't seem to have any problems with Peter's resistance. He kicked the air and kicked his blanket aside. Peter groaned and tried desperately to free himself. Jan whispered to him in an Eastern European accent: shhh, calm down, cichy, cichy. cichy means calm and was Polish, jan is actually born in Poland and changes his language more often.
I don't think they quite got the infodump adapted correctly
You gotta understand when you get rolling, you're at top speed and the only change is pushing the limits of articulation to its breaking point.
Otherwise I think it's a very straight adaptation, the only other change I noticed is the naked goddess gets turned into an ethereal one which looks cooler (even if less thematic, but I'll take rule of cool over logic any day)
sometimes it's super sad going into the polin tag and seeing all the 'Pen is gonna be THE debutante next season' or 'Pen is gonna be the Diamond of S3' or 'Pen about to get ALLLLL the attention' and like
penelope was supposed to be for the wallflowers. the quiet girls. the ones who aren't the center of attention. penelope was never meant to be the heart of the party or the big draw or the one everyone drooled over. penelope was meant to be the character representing all the peeps who stood off to the side and, in many cases, preferred it that way.
give me Penelope going through all these lessons to be more 'appealing' and all the sparkly dresses and going 'actually? i kind of hate this'. give me Penelope dancing the night away with stranger after stranger and cringing about it the whole time. give me Penelope who just wants to go back to her hobbies and her friends and her comfy corner and is tired of pretending. give me Penelope who goes through the tedious introductions and the 'what's your name? number of siblings? favorite color? great. . .' first dates of it all and hating it. give me a Penelope who empathizes like hell with Eloise because she understands now how stressful it is to always be looked at and watched. give me a Penelope who has extra appreciation for Colin for looking to understand her when she was 'invisible' in ways no one else tried to. give me Penelope who gets a taste of being The Star and spits it right out
you don't have to be the sparkling gem of a party to be worth love and care. some of us don't want the Diamond moment. we deserve our flowers, too.
This kinda looks bad initially but
You do have to remember that, despite how it looks, Jinguuji is still significantly stronger than Tachibana here, right? If he wanted to push them off he could do so easily.
And initially he tries to do it but
In the end he just accepts it
But, again, not because it's pointless and he'd be unable to change the situation anyway or something
He's making a conscious decision to just
Keep cuddling with Tachibana
And, like, even he's not entirely sure why he'd doing it but
It's not like Jinguuji is against hitting Tachibana when they're not in their right mind or something like that 'cause, like,
in 148 when Tachi is charmed he just kicks him in the leg
Something which, judging by Tachibana's reaction, really friggin hurt
Here, though, even when Tachibana is drunk and only half-conscious, Jinguuji decides to just accept the affection
I think there's definitely something to be said about this act, one that seems more romantic, and how it contrasts with how Tachibana had treated this f!jinguuji as a younger kid to be praised
Both of them struggled with the idea that their relationship was different than what they initially assumed it was. Here, though, is a sort of affirmation for Jinguuji that, no, this isn't 'parental instinct'
This sort of cuddling is distinctly romantic, and he likes that
In short. These 2 are adorable
the mangaka, reviewers, commenters and literally everyone else on planet earth: this a parody, just a silly little manga/anime. it doesnt take itself seriously so neither should you! it's a fun manga/anime but nothing too special either, i will now move on with my life :)
me, overthinking about tachibana and his gender. does he still sees himself as a man or as a woman? or both? or neither??? does he like his older body more or this one? he looks pretty comfortable with his current body does he feel any type of dysphoria at all? what about jinguuji??? he loves and accepts tachibana and cares only that tachibana is his best friend and doesnt want to lose him. will they end up together regardless of tachibana's gender and body? please god they love each other so muc-:
