Happy to be commissioned a few months back to paint this cover for author Andrea Manfredini with his new book ''The Thousand Eyes of the Night''; A story about a Balkan witch with magic, folklore and scheming.

The briefing was very exciting to work with, and the color scheme just as so.

Here it is! The official finished draft of the cover artwork for the upcoming 4-Play campaign module "The Cremation Towers of Stürmwasser" being published by FGG Games, LLC

I still have a couple more (much smaller/easier to manage) artworks to do for this project, but I'm coming up to take a breath between them because this piece took me a whopping TWO months, and around 130 hours to complete.

When commissioned to do this piece, Don of FGG games had a really detailed writeup, which incuded the details of the maps I had to do for this locale in the book. Going into the art, I had everything from a floor plan to the scenery to the details on the wall laid out, but I had to individually sketch and line every single tower and statue, and detail in the building to make sure it looked right.

This project forced me to relearn a lot of skills I haven't really used that much since I left college, and I'm glad I took the time I did on it to make sure it came out fantastic.

I can't stop thanking Iman Aoulad for giving me the opportunity to create the cover for her novel.

As a self-published writer, I know how important a good cover is, especially for the first work. Iman trusting me with this task is a huge privilege and a great responsibility that, honestly, had me terrified.

But here is the result!

Behind this cover is a lot, a lot of work; not only technical work to improve and perfect the drawing, but also research. Yes, you read that right: research. You can't just dress and style people from another era however you want 🤭

Finally able to say this project is done, after a few weeks of intense work.

I'm very excited for this piece because it's a huge milestone. Around five years ago I decided that I wanted to start doing artwork for book covers, and this is the first one that I'll have published since creating that goal. I worked crazy hard on this, and hope that it shows. There maybe isn't a huge difference to most people between having a book cover published and having an album art published, but this has been something on my radar for a long time, and many of my favorite artists I found through their book covers.

The illustration featured here is based on an excert of the story The Dinner Party, which will be included in the book.

I cannot wait to get my hard copy of the book for my portfolio!

Cari appassionati di scrittura e di libri! Ora vi parliamo di quella che è stata la mia parte preferita del lavoro svolto per la storia di Michele: la copertina (ovviamente 🤭)!

Lo scrittore mi ha lasciato molta libertà artistica per questa copertina. Ha mandato qualche bozza, qualche immagine da cui prendere ispirazione, ma mi ha lasciato piena autonomia! Ha fatto solo due richieste: che sul fronte ci fossero il protagonista Mason, di spalle o di profilo, e il Castello di Mont Saint-Michel! Quindi ho preso in considerazione le sue richieste e gli ho dato una impronta fantasy, aggiungendo anche altri elementi che facessero riferimento alla saga e alla storia, come macchie d'inchiostro, delle pergamene e una particolare bacchetta... O è una penna?! 🤔

Get ready! A new Fauncy Tier premade drops tomorrow and this one is pretty sweet if I don't saw so myself! Finally gave a shot at designing custom bordering while I upskill for an upcoming custom and it didn't turn out half bad! Pretty pleased with it :D

Mad as hell my screen recording from this point got corrupted and wouldn't save but at least this is something!! T_T (Legit 2.5 hours of straight work recorded down the drain aaaahhhhhhhhh)
