Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 UK Launch Event
Anson Mount and Rebecca Romijn visited the UK launch event for Strange New Worlds Season 2, on June 21 2023. It was a great evening at the Outernet in London, where Paramount+ set up an interactive experience boasting an immersive planet room (different worlds, the Enterprise flying in the sky as visitors look up, etc), galactic themed food and glowing drinks (Romulan ale, Replicator pizza), a special photobooth, and a screening of episode 1.
Anson and Rebecca also did a Q & A on stage and took pictures with fans at the party.

DP X DC
At a Wayne Enterprises Networking Gala:
Bruce: So about that new employee, there’s been a lot of talk…you mentioned he’d be in attendance this evening?
Lucius: ah, Mr Fenton I presume? Yes, he’s fantastic really.
Bruce: So I’ve heard. Where’s the man hiding? I haven’t managed to bump into him yet.
Lucius: Mr Fenton has been squandered away to the children’s table I believe.
Bruce: the children’s table…?
Lucius: *points* there, the tallest one.
Bruce trained his gaze in the direction Lucius pointed, to come face to face with the peculiar sight of a wiry, 20-something year old, back haired, blue eyed man consumed in a heated argument with a chubby 6 year old girl in piggy tails.
Bruce: that’s-
Lucius: Yep, you’re gonna hate him. Best go introduce yourself!

I like how they're evolving toward a TOS aesthetic with random blinking lights on the bridge.

What would happen if any if the batfamilys enemies kidnapped baby y/n and ended up hurting them badly?
I'm happy to tell you, but not in any fantastic detail. When you say "baby" I think "infant, no teeth, still in diapers, etc."
Content warning for bruises on an infant
--
The contexts in which you would not be with a family member as an infant are very few and far between. I'm thinking a couple of your brothers have you on an outing, like a soiree or a networking lunch for Wayne Enterprises, where they have to put the masks away and act like civilians. There's lots of people around, their attention spans are divided, and they're also counting down the minutes until it's socially acceptable to leave.
When that time finally hits, Dick politely excuses himself and goes to collect you and Tim so they can head home. But he only finds Tim.
And Tim turns and only sees Dick.
"I thought you were watching them," Tim says, immediately turning sheet white. Dick's complexion is the same.
"I thought you were watching them."
Cue the immediate panic. Tim has his phone out and is trying to pinpoint your location via the tracker they put in all your pacifiers. Dick's eyes are sweeping the area for any signs of you having either crawled away or gotten scooped up by some confused and well-meaning socialite.
You are far away, and getting farther. Someone definitely took you on purpose. They don't hesitate before leaving the gathering and radioing backup. They'll handle all the screaming and scolding from everyone else as long as you get back home safe.
Whoever did take you, be it someone from the usual rogues gallery or a rando that likes kidnapping kids, it doesn't take long for them to catch up to him. It also doesn't take long to do any damage, either, so when they do find you, it's unfortunately with some significant bruising. Your chubby cheeks are red from tears and your arms and waist have handprint bruising from being dragged around, but nothing is broken or bleeding.
Your brothers can't say the same for the one that had the balls kidnap you. He should be thankful Jason was already on another mission.
(Jason comes back and pays him a visit anyway. Nobody gets to lay a fucking finger on you.)
In the aftermath, you're almost overwhelmed by the attention. You don't sleep in your nursery alone again for months; either someone is in there with you, or you're simply relocated to one of their bedrooms for the night. You're handled so, so delicately, like you're made of porcelain. It's all very soft play and quiet voices for a couple days. If you flinch at contact, either due to the trauma of the kidnapping or because someone brushed against a bruise that's still healing, there will be tears shed from that person.
Bruce notices you flinch when he burps you after a feeding and he has to sit on the floor with you in his lap because his hands are shaking so badly.
Damian will not touch you directly at all. If you need to be picked up, he's fashioning a hammock to slowly and gently roll you into and then carry you off.
Alfred maintains the calmest facade when he carries you around, but if you make any kind of whine or pained face, he has to take a moment alone to recollect himself.
Dick and Tim can barely stand to look at you. They're overwhelmed with guilt for assuming the other person was watching you and not simply double-checking themselves.
Jason asks Tim if he can do some tummy time with you, and he just straight up shakes his head.
Dick fucks up his sleep schedule keeping an eye on you in the night, because even though Dr. Thompkins cleared you, what if she missed something and you develop a complication and need help? He doesn't patrol Blüdhaven properly for weeks, instead coming over to Gotham to keep vigil at your window.
Needless to say, the general public does not see you again for months, and when they do, you are with the entire family. They will not let that happen again.

I'd kill for a miniseries or something set during the time before Cass came to Gotham, when she was drifting through the world after escaping Cain. Partially because it's an almost totally unexplored part of the character's history, partially because more non-verbal Cass stories would be fantastic and partially because solo Cass stuff totally removed from the rest of the Bats would be a breath of fresh air. Also though, consider it from the POV of some enterprising hired killer paid to clip someone on the street when a random homeless eleven year old yanks them out of the way of the bullet, takes the gun out of your hand, ejects the mag, clears the chamber, cheerily disassembles it, knocks you out cold with a flying knee to the jaw, does not elaborate then leaves.

AU:
Damian, as an adult (maybe 19), travels back to when Dick's parents had just died.
Damian introduces himself to Bruce (who's 28ish) as a friend, wanting to help him with his mission to save Gotham. It takes time, but Bruce learns to trust Damian, introduces him to his ward Dick Grayson, and even hires Damian for Wayne Enterprises.
They are a weird family dynamic, but Dick settles on calling Damian his older brother. Dick slowly starts to heal from the trauma of his parents' death, especially with Damian there providing additional emotional support.
The older man, of course, changes what he can of the future. He finds Cass, permanently neutralizes the Joker (without killing just in case Bruce catches wind), and supports the Todds, Browns, and Thomases (arresting Willis and Arthur if need be). He invites Tim over to the Manor for "playdates" with Dick.
Overall, Damian is doing a fantastic job of helping Batman establish himself, teaching Bruce how to communicate with his children, saving Gotham, teaching Dick how to communicate his anger in other ways, helping the charity division (in particular the animal ones) of Wayne Enterprises, and overall being a great family member.
Bruce learns not to be an asshole and Dick knows he's loved and appreciated regardless of what labels the kid puts on their familial relationships (i.e. whether he thinks of Bruce as a dad or a loved guardian). Dick is doing fantastic as Robin, even though Damian couldn't convince him to wear pants. With the support of Batman, Damian's moniker, and, eventually, Batgirl, Robin flies through the night sky. He's so happy. He even forms the Titans and Bruce forms the JL.
It's good.
Then Dick has to watch Damian fall to his death in a vicious mockery of the Graysons' last show.

POC Batfam Members Reading Guides + Starter Comics
The Batfamily has a lot of excellent POC characters, but I know comics can be hard to navigate. This list compiles the main POC Batfam members, their reading guides, and recommended runs to start out with. Not including Dick, but if you want a reading guide for him check out this one from @fantastic-nonsense (it actually covers all the Batfam members, it's a great one-stop resource!). This is not an exhaustive list by any means, so feel free to comment/add on with any additions!
Damian Wayne / Robin
Tumblr media
The biological son of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul, Damian Wayne's character growth, complex relationships with his family, and general adorableness has endeared him to the hearts of many.
Reading list from @dailydamianwayne
Recommended starter run: Batman and Robin (2009)
Cassandra Cain / Batgirl
Tumblr media
Raised to be an assassin, chose to become a hero. Cassandra Cain's unique abilities, stubborn personality, and amazing character journey make her one of the Batfam's most lovable characters.
Reading list from @dailycass-cain Recommended starter run: Batgirl (2000)
Duke Thomas / Signal
Tumblr media
After his parents succumb to Joker gas and disappear, Duke Thomas throws himself into the world of vigilantism. He is beloved for his dedication to his family, unique connection to Gotham, and headstrong personality.
Reading list from @duketectivecomics
Recommended starter run: We Are Robin
Helena Bertinelli / Huntress
Tumblr media
A child of Gotham's most powerful mafia family, Helena Bertinelli seeks vengeance after an assassin murders them. Her passion for the people she cares about, her Catholic background, and her sometimes volatile personality make her an interesting and unique beloved character.
Note: Helena was originally portrayed as White, but was retconned in Tim Seeley and Tom King's N52 Grayson run to be mixed race and/or Black. She also has an extremely messy publication history, and it's debatable whether N52/Rebirth is even the same character. She is not to be confused with Helena Wayne.
Reading list from @purpleladyofthenight
Recommended starter run: not a comic, but Justice League Unlimited's episodes "Double Date," "Grudge Match," and "Question Authority" are a great introduction. Then Huntress (1989).
Luke Fox / Batwing
Tumblr media
The son of Wayne Enterprises CEO Lucius Fox, Luke Fox inherits the mantle of Batwing from David Zavimbe. Inducted into the Batfam during Rebirth, Luke is known and loved for his genius-level intellect, his complicated relationship with his father, and his unwavering dedication to the cause.
Reading list from @lornahs (includes David Zavimbe)
Recommended starter run: Batwing (Luke shows up in #19 onwards, but the rest is worth it too!)
Maps Mizoguchi / Robin
Tumblr media
A student at Gotham Academy, Mia "Maps" Mizoguchi is the newest Robin on the scene! Energetic, ever-curious, and a huge Batman and Robin fan, she's a fan-favourite for a very good reason.
Reading list from @emilyarmadillo
Recommended starter run: Gotham Academy
Other characters who are Batfam adjacent include Talia Al Ghul, who I would recommend using fantastic-nonsense's reading list again, and Jace Fox, for whom you should read The Next Batman: Second Son.
POC characters are still few and far between in comics, and it's important to support the characters we already have to show DC that there is a demand for diversity. All of these characters have truly interesting stories, personalities, and character arcs, and deserve our love and support!
