#fandom is stupid

I hate Doctor Who.

There. I said it. And you guys probably hate me for it, and you’ll hate me even more in a second.

I hate Doctor Who and I’ve never even seen the show but for one episode.

You know why I hate Doctor Who? Because of Tumblr. Because I can’t get the fuck away from the damn show anywhere I go. Doctor Who is just like that stupid single they play constantly on the radio; it doesn’t matter if it’s any good, it’s incessant and annoying and seriously NOT THAT GOOD. And I really get tired of seeing it eveyfuckingwhere.

And frankly, it sucks, because I get DW stuff from most of everyone I follow, and clearing everyone who posts it would clear most of my list. But Tumblr and Internet fandom pisses me off. It’s over the top and ridiculous - and I do mean that in the literal, “inspiring ridicule” fashion - and often crosses the all-out-unhealthy-obsession line.

Yeah, I consider myself part of some fandoms, but holy hell, “fandom” people make me embarrassed to even be part of any of these communities. Yes, I excitedly bought a Slytherin Quidditch shirt with “Malfoy” on the back, and I own a 7th Son Beta Clone shirt and an Ionath Krakens T-shirt, and want a Firefly sticker for my car and a keychain to match, and I may be excited about these things at first, but it tapers off to a normal level.

Internet fandom doesn’t.

Which gets really annoying.

It’s unfathomable to me how fandom can look at Saix, who worked for and was taken over by Xehanort, and Marluxia, who worked for and was taken over by Xehanort, and treat them as sweet uwu babies, but will look at Vanitas, who worked for and was taken over by Xehanort, and view him as pure evil.

True Love and this fandom

For fuck's sakes I am so tired of hearing shit about true love from this fandom. People assume that there is one true love, people assume this or that isn't true love. This fandom is fucking obsessed with true love and it ANNOYS THE FUCK OUT OF ME! I have to rant. Have to. I think people are missing half the fucking story because they're so obsessed with what is the definition of true love. 

JFC people, you'll never know if two characters have true love or not unless they show physical proof of it (breaking a curse and some shit) so stop analyzing the shit out of every single character's actions and figuring out if they have true love or not. Stop comparing Character A to Character W because they're fucking different. And not everyone is the same. And not all love is the same.

LOL we're in an endless loop of "THERE IS A PROBLEM" vs "THERE ISN'T A PROBLEM SHUT UP". And honestly, I'd much rather get worked up only to find there isn't actually a problem than support the status quo only to find there IS a problem. Although at this point, if you're defending the double standard, the superglue's already set and there's no point in me trying to help you take those blinders off.

Anyways figures tumblr would get my blood pressure up about Hamilton. It happened with the Witcher as well. I mean...I should have expected the bafflingly bad takes, its tumblr...but somehow I'm still taken by surprise. Gonna go back into obscurity so I don't let the salt take over.

First time I was surprised when people who defended Grant Ward hated Finn Collins. Then I found people who liked and defended Finn Collins -- but hated Ward. Now I see fans of D’avin Jaqobis hate on Grant Ward. And I only ask -- why do people hate fictional characters? I mean okay, you can hate who you hate. But why do you comment on other people liking this or that character, and/or comparing them, why can’t you just let others enjoy what they enjoy, without mocking or belittling them? Sheeeesh......

I've watched an episode of Doctor Who that made me cry and that I thought was beautiful. I watched an episode of Supernatural that made me feel the same way.

But I've been so repelled by these shows because of the rabid, tribal, downright AWFUL fandoms and crazy shippers they've spawned. 

I guess I should stop judging shows by their fans.

The "fandom" (a term I hate with a passion by the by) of Supernatural really makes me not want to ever watch it. However, im not going to let that stop me from giving it a go. I know the show is good, so why let the ridiculousness of a few people spoil it for me right?

yes she's as stupid as every other fucking character on the show has been for the past two seasons. Everybody is an idiot when dealing with Hannibal Lecter.

Yes now finally both Will and Jack have opened their eyes and realized that maybe the psychiatrist with a surgical background, a taste for art, a culinary talent, FBI insights and a pendant for cannibalistic humour is the killer they were looking for. But. Will barely knew Hannibal, and yet he had reasons to trust him until he made him choke on a ear. Alana has known Hannibal for years, far longer than she has known either Will or Jack, and in her experience Will is the one who's tried to kill Hannibal - not the other way round.

She might refuse to see but...it's understandable?

It bothers me, just like Jack  o Will bothered me, that she's so gullible but it's absurd that suddenly fandom calls her a dumb slut because she slept with Hannibal and yet when it was Will being all BFF with Hannibal everybody pitied him instead. WOW.
