Trizymantium Blade: Baezlnambda💜✨💜🌌💜- Ninja Storm AU

Ari’s Trizymantium Blade, like Eric’s sword, this one has dormant within it but these ones are more compact and distort the light around the blade(resonates with the fact that her element is Gravity). The yokai within it is named Baezlnambda, name wise Baezlnambda comes from a few things like the following

-Baal which is usually a term for demons and means “lord”.

-Z being for Zeta in the Greek alphabet but also associated with the number seven which is usually a lucky number. Like Ari with her starry themes and shooting stars tend to grant wishes.

-Lambda being another term in the Greek alphabet but is used to determine celestial things

While looking after Ari, she doesn’t trike the idea of the being watching over her, has to feel with independence issues. Her sword can also turn into her chakram/short blades from the comics of where she originates from in the franchise.

*cracks knuckles* oh, this'll be fun!! welcome to the fold! this is in no particular order, even though i'm still going to plug my all time favourite one first:

Silk and Steel by katanashipping: This is the first leosagi fic I ever read and the one that has haunted me since I first read it in 2014. Rereading it is actually what kickstarted my latest round of tmnt obsession. It's an alternate retelling of s4 and oh, it is so good. The ending scene... *chefs kiss*

In Between Worlds by Koalagriton: I read this one recently and it was so good... A series of drabbles about them reuniting at the next Battle Nexus. The last chapter is my favourite - the fic is kinda bittersweet but I love it to death.

In Circles by Garden_Guardian: A really nice and sweet fix-it fic for the capril wedding where Leo and Usagi actually TALK to each other instead of ignoring each other like awkward exes following Samurai Tourist. Includes some really adorable fanart attached!

Approval by hostofhorus999: A classic 5 times + 1 times fic - this time Usagi getting blessings from Leo's family to propose!!! It's so fucking sweet.

Operation Matchmaker 2: Electric Boogaloo by GreenGoddessSmoothie: A classic 'brothers trying to get leosagi together' tale. Shenanigans ensue, it's great, I laughed super hard.

Operation Elopement 2: Electric Boogaloo by GreenGoddessSmoothie: A direct sequel but about them getting eloped!! It's really cute, made me really emotional.

Fewer Things Forgotten by kay_cricketed: I only recently found out about this one (livejournal was slightly before my time lol) but it's a leosagi fic in 50 sentences and ohh it's so good. I initially wasn't sure if I'd enjoy this style of one-sentence stories but it pulled some real emotions out of me!!

The next three are multi-chaptered and pretty wordy but I still recommend:

Dragon of the Sun by ForestWhisper3: Okay so technically this is a Mikey-centric fic but the leosagi in it is so good I had to include it. It's a retelling of the Ultimate Drako arc featuring mystic!Mikey and it's a lot of fun. The leosagi parts are in chapters 5+6 but PLEASE read the whole thing it's super good and I'm kinda obsessed.

The Tortoise and the Hare by AmevelloBlue: REQUIRED READING (/j). This fic is super good. It recontextualises all leosagi episodes in 2k3, adds in missing scenes and then spins off into a really cool climax featuring Jei and it's just - super good. Loved it. Reread it three times already.

No Room For Dying by Amevello Blue: Direct sequel to Tortoise and Hare. This is the Ninja Tribunal arc we deserved honestly. Really highlights how shitty the tribunal is, Usagi slots into the plot seamlessly, it explores Usagi's own trauma from UJ which I really appreciated, the relationship drama is perfect and... yep. Just a really solid read. I'm going to do my third reread once I hit season 5 on my rewatch.

finally, i am not above plugging my own fics... i recently wrote one for tmnttober from usagi's pov where he's celebrating tanabata with the hamato family and trying to keep his crush on leo under wraps: climb up to my view, see the world in my shoes

Ninjago Pokemon AU!!

So, I've been talking to my furrend about a Ninjago Pokemon AU. In all honesty, it's nothing more than the Ninja's Teams so far xD I don't know if I ever want to flesh it out or even do something with it, nor am I sure if I want it to be Pokemon in the Ninjago World or the Ninjago characters in a Pokemon World, buuuut, I thought I'd share the teams I have for the Ninja + some other characters that I gave a team! If anyone would be interested in seeing fanart or would want to know more about this AU, let me know and I'll try to deliver!:D

There's a little theme I had going on when deciding all these Teams. Of course, the type of the pokemon they have would match the person's element, but I also gave all of them at least one dragon type, to represent the elemental dragons! On top of that, I also added Pokemon that should represent animals and creatures the ninja befriended in the show (for example, Cole befriended Krag so I gave him a Yeti Pokemon) And lastly, I also gave them Pokemon that they may share with someone else or that was gifted to them by someone! Kai -Pancham -Rapidash -Turtonator -Incineroar -Mudsdale Soo, while my furrendo and I were talking, they mentioned how Nya and Kai seem like horse lovers and, I don't know how to explain it, but I loved it a lot xD Sooo, what better thing to do than to give Kai two horse Pokemon? Well, to explain my thoughts on his other team members, I like to think Pancham would be his first Pokemon! There's not that much of an explanation for this one other than me wanting to give him one ngl. Turtonator is his dragon type to represent his elemental dragon! I COULD have given him a Charizard, buuuut I think Turtonator is low-key cooler and fits him more. Incineroar may seem a bit random, but I gave it to him to represent him becoming a wrestler after Season 3! Though chances are, that he wouldn't have it on his team as much probably...eh, I'll think about that some more And for Mudsdale, it was a gift from Cole actually. Not sure when or why, buuuut yeah :D Nya -Coalossal -Kingdra -Dewott -Pawniard -Zebstrika I think the Theme I was going for here is showing now xD Coalossal may be the pokemon of Ray or Maya that was passed down onto her after the two disappeared. So perhaps it kind of functioned as a guardian when Kai and Nya had to look after themselves? And well, Kingdra is her dragon type! Though I'm honestly thinking about switching Kindra out for Dracovish...oh well Samurott and Pawniard represent her having been Samurai X :D The Zebstrika was a gift from Jay! My friend also said that Kai and Nya share a Salamence and, while I love that idea, I'm a bit unsure Cole -Flygon -Camerupt -Abomasnow -Banette -Sandslash -Lurantis Listen. I could have given Cole Garchomp for his dragon type. But like. I love Flygon man TAT Also, had to give him a Camerupt to mirror his Lava powers! Perhaps it's also a gift from Kai? Krag is also very dear to me, so I had to represent that glorbo somehow with Abomasnow. The Pokédex states Banette is a vengeful doll that was thrown away and forgotten by it's previous owner, so I think it's a nice nod to how Cole was starting to fade away in Day of the Departed AND how he landed in the Land of Lost things in Dragons Rising! And Sandslash and Lurantis represent the Blades of Deliverance, with Lurantis also representing Lilly a bit! I think either Lurantis or Camerupt would be his first pokemon! I'll put a stop to it at this point and post the team's of the rest of the Ninja in a seperate Post!

This two silly are my world, I love them so much 🤧💙

Now, a little context:

In my opinion, they marriage during apocalypse but, Yuichi die after fighting saved a group of innocents of Kraangs. Who found Usagi's body was Mikey... The orange cried a lot thinking about how he would break the news to his older brother (Leo), they had already lost Raph and Donnie, now it was Yuichi... Leo didn't need more pain , of another loss, but it was necessary. So Mikeu took Usagi's body and took him to a building they were using as a shelter and base. Leo cried his ass off, he even had his moment of mourning before getting back into action and continuing to lead the resistance until his last breath.

Wouldn't it be so fun to explore if the modernization concept they're somewhat going for with Boruto was done to the extreme and in their time Shinobi has been an extinct profession for hundreds of years and are history at that point. But their ways are still being taught and passed down- The clans are still passing down their techniques and jutsu's albeit if only for the sake of tradition and self-defense, Tournaments solely made for taijutsu and weapons battles, Chunin exams are still being honored with a more friendly but just as competitive version where all villages would still send their best teams to compete, The Hokage monuments and memorial stones are still honored and respected and was never added once they switched to normal presidency, and of course many medical jutsu's are still practiced and advanced to this day-

The ninja way is still there but without a war no one felt the need for shinobi anymore- so it's even more understandable that if a huge threat comes up again everyone (maybe even the villains lol) are scrambling because they were never raised to be soldiers- but the bloodlines are still there and even if not you can still be taught if you are willing to learn and work hard (not to say boruto isn't doing this well but i haven't finished it yet so- XD)

it could still be Boruto characters but the fanart that i saw was a Reincarnation Au- anyways i just think it's neat XD it was a long time ago but a lot of people i know seemed upset that the chunin exams and the kids in general in boruto seemed like watered-down and weak versions of their parents which- is kinda upsetting not gonna lie XD their KIDS! raised in peacetime! what do want?! but i thought this would be a fun idea because of that lol instead of just maybe about twenty-thirty years the time skip is about hundreds of years where the shinobi world is history and absolutely no one and their relatives has been raised or been through war!

Ohhh i do like the concept. It would be a slow process because as long as people who have faught are still alive some of the old ways will stick around, even if only on a very small scale

But over the years it all starts to fade away and the villages change for the better. There’s now wars as you said, and with the villages trading and working together the way of the Shinobi is gone but far from forgotten.

There would also be a lot more samurai mix, since with everything opening people would start to move and share their cultures more (like boruto we see a samurai join one of the teams which i think is awesome but that’s clearly a stepping stone towards an even more open future)

And then you have the reincarnated characters

Omg how weird it must be for some of them to look up at that old monument and see faces that look exactly like theirs. Imagine Jiraiya and Orochimaru teasing Tsunade because she looks like old lady fifth, or Obito, Rin and Gai always comparing Kakashi to Lord sixth on the mountain.

And the chunin exams. They don’t get promotions anymore since those arn’t needed, but awards. Metals, prizes, fun things. If a person win’s, that’s it they don’t participate anymore because that’s like them being promoted, but until they win they can take it as many times as they want. Some people do it every year because they can and they think it’s fun, maybe it’s even sponsered (sort of like the olympics) with certain people wearing branded clothes for their fights

AU where Mc is a ninja for the Oda clan.

A new victory had just been added to the long list for the Oda Clan. And to celebrate this, everyone gathered in the hall in which lavish feasting was a requirement and alcohol flowed like a river. And maybe a little too much…

“Ah, careful!!” shouted Toshiie.

But it was too late. Lips were leaning a bit too dangerously toward yours, and under the influence of alcohol you only narrowly managed to dodge them. But the young man simply adjusted himself quickly after being denied and instead he wrapped his arms around your waist, resting his head against your breasts.

“Hey Keiji!!” you exclaimed while shaking him to make him move.

However, it didn’t seem to work. You tried to repel him, but you were wasting your time faced with this pile of muscles that was Maeda Keiji. Within this bustle, the top layers of your kimono were slightly opened and you could feel his hot breath on your visible skin. Obviously, Keiji had immediately noticed it since his mouth seized a piece of flesh and sucked at it. Panic grew into you and you started to hit him. But it didn’t affect him in any way. When he finished leaving his mark on your skin, he put his head back on you chest.

“Hm~ so soft~…” was the only answer you got from him.

You sighed. Once drunk, nobody could do anything for him. So you let him rest against you, stroking his hair hoping he will fall asleep and reduce the damages he could had done. Like this, he looked like an innocent child and you couldn’t help but giving a faint smile.

“I can’t believe he managed to make you smile” whispered Toshiie.

“He hasn’t done any harm, look” you retorted, lowering your voice not to disturb Keiji who seemed to finally sleep under your caresses.

“Hmph, you’ve already forgotten what he did to you?!”

“Oh and you did well when you tried to help me” you shot back, giving him a death stare.

“He hadn’t done any harm as you said.”

You sighed again. With Toshiie, it was double or quits: he could be very adorable when he wanted, or really annoying. But he was right. It wasn’t easy to handle this big child. But he wasn’t mean and getting mad at him seemed impossible. So you just kept on drinking and chatting with the others until it was your turn to fall asleep.

After what felt like a few hours, you felt your body fall backward. Normally you should have hit the ground with full force, but someone caught you during your drop and gently laid you down.

“Hm… ?” you mumbled.

Your mind was still clouded but you quickly recovered consciousness and noticed that Keiji hadn’t moved seats. But still, he was heavy! So you made him roll on your side, trying not to break the embrace he had around your body and took him in your arms before getting back to sleep.

The following day, you were the first to wake up. You took advantage of Keiji’s relaxed sleep to slip away from the samurai’s grasp and assessed the state of everyone in the room. Obviously, all were heavy-handed on the alcohol and you couldn’t help but chuckle as discreetly as possible in front of those madcap postures made by the sleeping retainers.

“Joyful as soon as you’re awake I see” pointed out a man behind you.

You turned over, smile still on your lips.

“Why wouldn’t I be, Saku?”

He gave you a smirk and invited you to follow him outside of the room.

“I just thought it wasn’t only the fact that the others were dead drunk that made you in a good mood.”

“Hm? What do you mean?” you asked as you didn’t have any clue.

Then, he pointed out the reddish mark in the top of your breast and you hastened to put your kimono back in its place.

“I… No way! He was drunk and did that thoughtlessly. I don’t see how it could have made me happy!”

Sakuya looked at you from the corner of his eye and sighed, exasperated.

“In my opinion, he was perfectly aware of his actions.”

“Of course… We are talking about Keiji, the one who kisses everyone as soon as a drop of alcohol mixes with his blood.”

“I know, but who does he kiss recently?”

“I’m not the only victim, Hideyoshi was too not so long ago!”

“And since that day, you were the only one.”

That night, alcohol was the evening’s master again and you didn’t bother continuing to drink to your liking. This was noticed, and one of the young samurais slipped to your sides and undertook the conversation while being rather... tactile. But you didn’t mind. Because the man beside you was the great Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a proud samourai also called the man of thousand lovers after all. And the truth is that he really was a seducer so not succumbing to his charms seemed impossible. And the more the night went on, the more he had wandering hands and the closer his lips got to yours… Until they finally met. At this moment, you could feel a threatening look on you. Probably Mitsunari you thought, wondering how Hideyoshi could had been seduced by a succubus like you. This thought made you crack a smile and the young man took advantage of the opportunity to plunge his tongue inside your mouth, looking for yours fervently. His investigation was brief since you kissed him back languorously, putting your arms around his neck.

But as intense as the kiss could have been, this was nothing compared to the strength which Keiji grabbed Hideyoshi’s lips with his after pulling you apart bluntly from each other. You were used to this kind of show. Keiji could kiss literally everyone if nobody stopped him and this made you laugh each time. But your laughter was short cut because it was your turn to be the target of the berserker's kisses.

You shudder. Where did Sakuya want to go with this?

“I’m just saying that the fact that Keiji separated you, then kissed you both wasn’t a mistake. He never did that before.”

“And what is your conclusion?”

“He’s in love.”

Your brain took some time to puzzle over his words. In love? Keiji? With you?

“What are you talking about Saku? He kissed Hideyoshi too, don’t forget!” you exclaimed, nervously laughing out, hoping the ninja would give up his analysis and let you be right.

“Maybe he didn’t want Hideyoshi to keep the taste of your lips? Maybe he wanted to take back what he desired to be only his?”

You attempted to retort, to prove to him he was wrong. But nothing came to your mind, it was blank space. He carried on:

“Why did he leave his mark on you? He has been acting jealous since that night.”

You wanted to tell him that it could only had been a coincidence. That with Keiji you couldn’t take everything seriously. But you weren’t capable to say anything. Maybe because deep down inside you wanted Sakuya to be right. But what if your hopes shattered because the truth was something else?

“I observed both of you. Trust me. He likes you. And you like him back.”

He was asking you to trust him? Really? You knew Sakuya and the world of shadows and believing in people wasn’t part of the ninjas’ code.

So, you started to avoid Keiji childishly. Why exactly, you didn’t even know, but it unfolded for few days before you decided to check on him discreetly. You had heard rumors as he wasn’t acting like himself. He had stopped going to the kitchen to steal food, and didn’t drink when there were parties.

Your steps guided you quickly to the retainers’ housing estates. And you saw him in the distance, on the porch in front of his room. He was laying and you moved forward carefully to see that his eyes were closed. Was he sleeping? You bent over him to verify his breathing. At least, he seemed to be well and wasn’t just dead on his veranda. This eased your conscience but you couldn’t help wanting to stay by his side to know why he acted strangely. Should you wait for him to wake and ask him? What was your purpose in coming?

You watched him sleep, moved. Sakuya was right, you were undeniably in love with this dork. You kept moving forward until you sat astride Keiji, then finally laid down on him, the breadth of his body keeping yours totally off the floor. You buried your nose in the crook of his neck and inhales his scent. He smelled terribly good once the alcohol’s odor left, you thought. Then suddenly you felt arms wrapping around you. Your only reaction was to smile and nestle even more against him. His thumbs were skimming in semicircle on the small of your back and you felt safe there.

A few minutes passed like this, then you decided to raised your head to look at him right in the eyes.

“Did something happen?” you asked him apprehensively.

He looked back at you, first surprised by your question, then he answered, shaking his head slowly from right to left.

“Hm hm~, everything’s alright now.”

His expression was soft, you had never seen him like that. He seemed frail, as if you could lose him at any minute.

“Maybe now you’re fine but-”

“Shh~”

One of his hand ended up between the two of you and he put his forefinger on your lips to keep them quiet. No! You would not let him be that way, not now. You had to know what tormented him. You grabbed his wrist and pinned it against the ground next to his head.

“Keiji! I’m serious! What happened?” you pressed him, panic getting the upper hand of you.

Why did that occur to you? You were supposed to be in control of yourself, of your feelings. Panic didn’t exist with you. And yet. Yet, all your world could collapse if this man underneath you decided it. Because he had an hold strong enough on your heart to break you in the blink of an eye. Before you had realized it, a tear dripped along your cheek and crashed onto Keiji’s face. Others took the same path and you couldn’t stop the flood. You straightened up on your knees and Keiji sat up  with you.

“Why are you crying?” he asked, attempting to clumsily wipe your tears, which were falling tirelessly.

“Because I’m worried sick for you, you moron!!” you shot while giving him punches to his chest.

He caught your wrists, preventing you from hitting him even though you knew perfectly well that your hits wouldn’t do any damage, and kissed you. Your tears immediately ceased to flow under the influence of surprise. This kiss was so different from all those he gave you before. This kiss was sober, and this kiss was genuinely desired. You knew, you felt it, and you deepened the kiss. He released your wrists and took the opportunity to bring you closer to him while you wrapped your arms around his neck. Once out of breath, he broke the kiss, laid his forehead against yours and looked at you intensely. That wasn’t the same look he gave you earlier. Now, his gaze was deep, full of desire.

“I love you”  he whispered quietly.

But it was loud enough for you to hear it. His eyes were filled with determination and you knew he wouldn’t take “no” as an answer to his feelings. All the strain left you, you could finally breathe after all those days. And this was with a beam on your face that you replied:

“I love you too Keiji. Don’t do that to me ever again ok?” you requested of him, taking his face into your hands.

“Then never leave my side” he declared in a serious tone.

“I… It was because of my absence you were in that state?”

He looked away. He was blushing and you thought it was absolutely adorable, even though a guilty feeling arose inside you.

“What else then…?” he muttered, becoming even redder than he was.

You couldn’t help but being moved. Your absence had rendered him this vulnerable that he even ceased to do what he liked because he was depressed.

“I’m sorry, that won’t ever happen” you promised, pulling his head down to you, where he buried it against your breasts.

You wanted to reassure him and you fondled his hair with one hand and his back with the other.

“Hey…” he called out after a while.

“Yes?”

“I’m hungry...”

Keiji was back.

Morning! This is Petroeshka & Mario of InuNeko Cosplay.

I’m a bit late in posting this and getting to know them both was honestly a really great honour. I was amazed at how amazing and talented they both were. Enjoy today’s interview guys.

1.) How long have you’ve been cosplaying?

We’ve been cosplaying for the very first time in 2013. But we are cosplaying as InuNeko Cosplay since 2014.

2.) What character did you enjoy making the outfit and dressing as?

Petroeshka: Overall I must say that I never pick a charcter to cosplay that I don’t have any heart for. I always enjoy the making and wearing of all of my costumes.

I think when it comes to the crafting process and actually LEARNING to craft, that I mostly enjoyed making my Lady Scorpion. Besides having big love for the character itself, it just involved everything that comes to mind when building a cosplay costume: The usage of various materials and fabrics for the armored parts and clothing, the use of make-up, and a bit of wig-styling. All sorts of cool new stuff that I had to learn from scratch back then.

Also my Ratchet Deadlocked Gladiator, because that was my first actual wearable armor build and the very first time I built a, for me at the time, really complicated prop weapon.

As far as actually WEARING and embodying a character, I still gotta say that I love my Lady Scorpion the most of all my costumes. I just absolutely love badass warrior characters and esspecially ninja’s and samurais! And Mortal Kombat is a videogame that I grew up playing so… I build it in 2014 within 3,5 months as it being my very first selfmade cosplay. And looking back upon the things that it got me to do and the awesome people that I got to meet while wearing it, still makes me proud up until today. It’s just really cool that people after all this time still recognise me as “that one Dutch Lady Scorpion”. And that’s why this costume has such a close place to my heart.

Mario: Sub-Zero. Because this was my very first selfmade costume. And because it was my first selfmade one I learned so much from the whole crafting process, esspecially how NOT to do certain things and how much work it really is to make a unrealistic costume reality (really underestimated that part). Also, blue is my favourite colour and I love ninja’s and samurais too, so yeah…

3.) How long does certain outfits take to make?

It all depends on how complicated you want to make it for yourself and how many details you like to add to an outfit.

That’s the nice thing about cosplay: There are always different versions of characters depending on the example sources you’re using. For instance: You can choose for a cartoon, comic, fanart or movie version for your cosplay. So there are all kinds of levels of accuracy. It’s all up to you. Your budget that you like to spend, the materials you use, the skills that you already have or have to develop. And how far you want to take it in to making it come to life in the shape of your costume. Next to cosplay, we are both just normal people with normal obligations and jobs. So there isn’t always time to work on our costumes all the time. Though we really like to take our time into making our costumes. We always find it very important to read to up on the backstories of the characters. This helps us more to bring the characters to life in photo’s and video’s. We do research on the different techniques that are needed to make certain stuff involving the costume. And we always like to check if the costumes are potentially useable for cosplay acts and competitions.

So as you can see: Everything together takes up a pretty great amount of time. (Not to mention money ofcourse.) Depending upon the project ofcourse. But we always like to start ours out about 4 months before the deadline.

4.) Which con is your favorite so far?

Petroeshka: In The Netherlands that would be Dutch Comic Con. Just so many cool memories! I think Katsucon sparks most of my interest when it comes to American cons. From what I’ve seen in video’s, it’s just a very beautiful convention center with lot’s of cool photo locations! And the afterparties are pretty cool also!

Mario: Mine would be Dutch Comic Con in The Netherlands too. As far as cons abroad, I would choose Collossal Con. I mean, the concept “waterpark meeting animal petting zoo”: What’s not to like? Perfect combination for me! You won’t find that anywhere else in the world!

5) If your cosplay line up isn’t secret for this year would you mind sharing?

We’re sorry, but that’s a list that we never officially share. Not only to just keep the pressure off for ourselfs, but also because the plans keep changing as we go. Besides: The list is ENDLESS!

6.)Where are your plans for cons this year?

We have several. But in the end it’ll always depends on our budget and wishes of what we like to achieve with our cosplay plans for that particular year. Upcoming cons and events where you will see us this year are mostly in The Netherlands, Belgium and maybe Germany. Think of cons and events like Dutch Comic Con, The Party, Animecon, Abunai, Firstlook and Campzone in The Netherlands. FACTS in Belgium. And maybe Comic Con Germany and Gamescom in Germany. We would love to go to cons abroad in other far away countries. Keep your eyes open tho. You never know where you might run into us down there in the United States…

7.) Have there been any racial problems either of you faced while cosplaying certain characters at different cons?

Petroeshka: Not for me. I think this is mainly because I’m mixed and people never know where my ethnic roots are actually from. (I’m half black and half asian.) Besides I don’t seem to care too much about it. People will always have something to say, but I always try to keep in mind that I love to cosplay for my own reasons. Ofcourse it’s nice and cool if you actually look a bit like the character and that’s something that I always strive to work towards. I’m not stupid. I know what colour my skin is and what I look like. But if I like a certain character and that character will be white, asian, arab or whatever, I won’t let it stop me from cosplaying him or her. If the character has another skincolour or ethnisity than me, then hell: Then the character will get another skintone with me wearing it. So be it. Everyone has their own reasons for cosplaying certain characters, so I think nobody has the right to say that they can’t or shouldn’t. Most of the time I get told that I actually embody the characters that I choose pretty well, so it’s not something that I worry too much about when choosing one.

Mario: Neither for me. People have been nothing but positive up until now. For example Sub-Zero is a half Chinese guy, but I never heard anyone say that I shouldn’t cosplay him because I’m white. In fact, I get nothing but compliments for me cosplaying him. Same goes for me cosplaying as Ushio Aotsuki. I’m not Japanese, but I love cosplaying this character because I think he’s cool. Though most of the time I choose characters based on my own appearance and physical skill for a bit. That’s just because I feel more comfortable doing that. But it doesn’t mean that I won’t ever cosplay a character of another ethnicity. Just with my own skincolour then. As far as it goes for having real racial cosplay problems at Dutch cons, people seem to be pretty cool and reasonable about it.

8.) As far as black/brownface go, have either of you encounter anyone doing such things at a con?

First of all: We like to put upfront that we as InuNeko Cosplay exist out of 2 different people. 1 is mixed and one is caucasian. Both born and raised in The Netherlands. A pretty multicultural and tolerant country. Having said that, we like to take you all on a little schooling about what the term “blackfacing” actually means. Blackfacing is the intentional hurting of people with a certain ethnical decend or background by turning that background into a caricature and wearing that caricature out in the form of a costume to intentionally hurt or ridicule that certain ethnisity. Our opinion about this is that this is NOT what cosplay does and is intented to do. And if you’re one of the persons that does that intentionally just to make fun of others and their background, then maybe you shouldn’t be cosplaying at all. Our answer around this subject may piss some people off and we understand why. But everyone should be able to be proud of their own ethnisity without hurting others or to be made fun of. Luckilly we don’t see a lot of people doing things like that at Dutch cons. Those who do get scollded by others pretty fast. It’s overly a thing that is not accepted overhere in The Netherlands. Real blackfacing is a disgusting form of display and we don’t support that at all. 9.) Any idea’s on how we can get people to understand why painting one skin another color to be “authentic” is wrong?

We wouldn’t know the concrete answer to that. Also because it is not our place to tell people what to do, since everyone’s interpretation on the term is different. All we know is that there’s a certain moral line made of respect for others and their cultural background, that you don’t cross. If you do and you notice that people don’t like that and you still continiue to do that, then you’re in the wrong bigtime! We wouldn’t know how to make people stop to do it. What we do know is that it’s a subject that as well white as coloured people, should get more educated on.

10.) What are some pet peeves you see at cons that you think should change this year?

Oh boy…Here we go then. Mainly 3 things:

- The eternal bickering within the world of cosplayers about who’s better and popular than who. This is not a race people. If you think that you can do better, then try and learn from your own mistakes as a cosplayer and better yourself in your own way at your own pace. Everybody does their own thing in their own way. Leave them be and try to mind your own business.

- A little wellknown petpeeve down here in The Netherlands: Con and event organisators should stop “using” cosplayers as their own personal Pegasus horse in trade for giving back bad quality cons for the masses. Esspecially those who think that letting cosplayers into your events are just a way of making easy money through the mainstream non-cosplaying crowd. It’s better to organise a big wellorganised and positively remembered con 1 or 2 times a year, then to organise 8 small bad ones.

- The online bashing, hating and calling out of talented famous cosplayers. Why? Because it’s no use and it’s stupid! Those people are just like you: Started out from nothing, but kept on going for the pure love of it. Just trying to make a living out of their favorite hobby: Cosplay. Most of the time they are mainly trying to do their best and inspire others to go and achieve the same dreams in their own way. And show others how much fun it can be to do so.

As a little wrap-up: We’re not saying that cosplay is this dreamworld in which you will not encounter problems like in real normal daily life. You will get haters sometimes. You will not always like every other cosplaying person that you encounter. AND THAT IS OK! Try and keep a realistic, but positive view on the cosplay world and what it involves. Cosplay is meant to have fun. So let that be the first thing on your mind when starting. All that we like to say lastly is that if cosplay is something that you always wanted to do, then just go out and do it!

We started doing this awesome hobby because we think it’s fun bringing to life creatively self designed concepts and perform with them in stage acts. It brought us so much joy and got us to meet so many amazing talented people with the same mindset as us. Being able to share that artform with people around the world and actually getting mad props for that, is something that we will never underestimate and forever appreachiate.

I just finished reading @annonniiiiieeeee‘s fic “A World of Samurais and Ninjas” yesterday and I have several thing to say.

Great fic, the writing and pacing is immaculate go read it.

This is the fic that made me care about Rise!Leo x Usagi tbh. I've got a huge softspot for '03 KatanaShipping, but it was strictly platonic/non-romantic with other versions. And then this fic happened so.

TL;DR - The fic? Leo's rescue from the prison dimension ends up with Mikey having a portal mishap. Leo gets sent to Usagi's dimension instead, where a teen Usagi (with his dad teacher Katsuichi and Gunichi) find him very injured.
