For something different, don't miss the Duck Rillette with Quince Paste, a dish that beautifully combines rich, savory duck with the sweetness of quince.
El Gordo also offers a selection of larger share plates, such as the Paella Valenciana—a flavorful rice dish brimming with seafood, chicken, and saffron. The restaurant’s chic interior and attentive service make it a great choice for both casual dinners and special occasions.
3. Carmen’s Cocina: Authenticity at Its Finest
Carmen’s Cocina is a hidden gem in Brighton, beloved by locals for its commitment to authenticity and quality. This cozy, family-run restaurant specializes in traditional Spanish tapas that showcase the bold flavors and rich culinary heritage of Spain.
The menu at Carmen’s Cocina is a love letter to Spanish cuisine, with each dish prepared using time-honored recipes and the finest ingredients. The Pork Belly with Apple Purée is a delightful blend of savory and sweet, while the Patatas Bravas here come with a twist, served with a smoky paprika aioli.
Paco y Lola is also known for its Spanish-inspired cocktails, like the Gin-Tonic made with botanicals from Spain and the refreshing Tinto de Verano—a chilled red wine cocktail perfect for warm evenings. I'm wondering why Jenny didn't tell Sophie Jack's name during their /sophiwalten page convo? Like, I'm 100% sure she knew it. Jack was a famous person, all of Brighton was talking about his disappearance for three years, according to Derek Collins, Felix talked about him when he was interviewed. Why didn't she do it? She literally told Sophie that she would help her remember her family in every possible way. Then what is her help? Just film Sophie's testimony? How will this help her regain her memory? It makes absolutely no sense.
This is a confusing question to me, because I think it's really obvious that in the canon of The Walten Files, Jenny is not supposed to know about/have made the connection between Bon's Burgers, Bunny Smiles, the missing Walten family, and her girlfriend. Whether you think it makes sense and is believable that she would have no/very little knowledge about what was seemingly big news in the small town where she grew up is one thing, but to pretend like she absolutely does have information that she clearly really doesn't, just because you don't think it makes sense otherwise, is something else entirely.
To better articulate what I'm saying: This is a weird way to blame a character for a problem which you should actually be taking up with the writing. It's okay to have complaints about the way The Walten Files is written.
That ^ Is the most significant and important thing I have to say about this but I'm writing a lot more under the cut:
I'm interested by what makes you "100% sure" that Jenny knew Jack Walten's name and would have related that to the situation with Sophie. I agree that it doesn't make absolute sense that she would have no memory whatsoever of the Walten's disappearance, which was apparently big news in her small town when she was 18 (not exactly too young to remember it), but that circumstantial evidence doesn't contradict the textual evidence that when she's talking about BSI with Sophie, all she has to say about it is the rumors she's heard about Ashley and about Brian's recent disappearance.
I do think there are legitimate explanations for her lack of information here that make sense and are reasonable. Maybe she heard rumors around the time of the disappearance, but wasn't really keeping up with it? Maybe she had seen the name "Jack Walten" in the newspaper before his disappearance but didn't really look into it because she was already an older teenager and didn't really care about a new kid's restaurant. It's not like when a Big Event happens in a small town, it's instantly beamed into the collective consciousness of everyone who lives there. Especially in the pre-internet age, your knowledge of ongoing events was tied directly to how much you read the news, and how much gossip you listened to and believed.
I don't think it's unreasonable to imagine that a 26-year old Jenny Letterson wouldn't really remember the details of random newspaper gossip from 8 years ago, even if it was a big news story involving prominent local public figures. And I don't know what makes you think she would have known about and tuned in for the single radio interview in which that disappearance was addressed years later.
The thing about her filming Sophie's testimony also makes sense by itself, just evidenced by the fact that at the start of the conversation, when Jenny asks her to remember the oldest thing she can, Sophie recalls something that happened *later* than everything she eventually mentions later in the conversation. She's remembering more and more as she's talking and encouraging her mind to go back further, things which she may not remember so clearly when the conversation is over. Recording it gives her the ability to revisit those memories later.

Hiii I hope this isn’t weird but I’m traveling to Australia soon and I would like to know
what to do{I got recommended The Blue Mountain(The3sisters)}
Is there things(places) I should avoid?
Is there any customs Americans have that should avoid doing while in Australia?
Thank you so much I appreciate your time and response ♥️
Hey! Depends on where you're going. By the sound of it, if you've been recommended the Blue Mountains you're going to NSW. I don't know anything about NSW unfortunately, but I can tell you some stuff about Victoria!
I'll try and write some general stuff up, but if you send me another ask about what sort of stuff you'd be interested in doing/seeing, and how you're travelling (if you're planning to hire a car, or if you're going to rely on Ubers and public transport), I'd be more than happy to point you to some specific things :)
This'll be long, so I'll put it under the read more.
It depends what you're after, really. If you want to immerse yourself in nature, then we have some really fantastic natural areas such as the Otways, the Great Ocean Road, the Dandenong Ranges (not to be confused with the suburb Dandenong), the Yarra Ranges, the Macedon Ranges, and Victorian High Country etc. These are really fantastic places to walk around in the beautiful land. All these offer different hikes/bushwalks/walking trails that you can enjoy either by yourself or a mate. All these areas are very safe.
AVOID: TBH Victoria and Australia as a whole are very safe places, the only places I would recommend avoiding are outer suburbs of Melbourne. If you're going to the countryside you're largely going to be safe, I wouldn't recommend Ararat at night (they do have a really fantastic Chinese Museum there though), or some parts of Shepparton.
If you're interested in hanging out by the beach, there's heaps here. I wouldn't recommend Brighton beach, just because if it's a pain in the arse to get parking there depending when you'll be here, nor would I recommend Rye because it gets mad crowded. I'd also suggest going to Phillip Island, which has some cool stuff to do such as A Maze N' Things, which I think is geared more towards young children/families but I can't really recall. Phillip Island is most famous for its penguin parades, where you get to watch all the tiny little fairy penguins arrive home from their long days of fishing and swimming about. If you're really keen on animals, I also recommend Healesville Sanctuary (near the Yarra Ranges, it's about an hour and a bit from Melbourne), Werribee Open Range Zoo, and Melbourne Zoo (if you go to Melb Zoo, leave the car at home and take the tram! There's a stop right out the front :) ).
If you're keen on relaxing there's Daylesford, which is known as Victorian Spa Country because of... I'm sure you've guessed, the spas! It's also nice and close to some beautifully country towns such as Kyneton and Romsey which are part of the Macedon Ranges I believe. I used to holiday every year in Kyneton and Castlemaine, and they're really beautiful places. Castlemaine has a really great farmer's market every first Sunday of the month.
Near there, about an hour away, there's Sovereign Hill, which I highly recommend as it's SO much fun! It's a historical town, where everything is built like it would have been in the 1850s during the goldrush. You can do fun activities there like ride in a horse-drawn carriage, make your own traditional wax candles, and pan for gold in the river. If you go, I recommend you buy at least two jars of raspberry drops from the gift shop there: they are the best that you will find in the entire world.
Sovereign Hill is also close to Ballarat, which is a massive country town with beautiful architecture and some pretty nifty restaurants if you know where to look. I recommend The Forge, really delicious pizza, all wood-fired so the bases have that beautiful smoky taste. It also has a really nice ambience, and is IIRC next to a cute alleyway that has 100s of umbrellas hanging over like a little ceiling which is a great place to take photos :)
I'd also recommend Echuca, which is a far drive away but is worth it. Another old-style town with old-style shops. They have a really fun old-timey PENNY arcade (for reference, we stopped using pounds and pennies and switched to dollars in 1966) with arcade machines from 1900 to 1950. They also show old silent black and white films there. Just be careful with the bloke who runs the store because he'll try and trick you into electrocuting yourself on the electrocution arcade game 💀 it doesn't hurt dw but it does feel really weird.
Now for Melbourne. If you're looking for nightlife recommendations, I couldn't really tell you--however I can ask around and let you know. I would recommend checking out Melbourne Museum, of course, which is FANTASTIC. Beautiful displays of insects, they're absolutely mesmerising. We currently also have a display on Horridus, the triceratops fossil. It's a beautiful exhibit and you might cry a bit (I def did). There's also the State Gallery of Victoria, which is great fun as well. Do Not Go To The Restaurant There. It's nice! But it's overpriced. From there, you can hop on the tram back towards Federation Square, where you can find ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image--very interactive) and the Koorie Heritage Trust (which is a great place to go if you're interested in learning a bit more about the traditional owners of Australia and their art). If going to Fed Square, I recommend checking out Mabu Mabu which is an indigenous owned restaurant that uses native ingredients and flavours to make mega delish food. It can be a bit pricey tho, but definitely worth it!
Otherwise in Melb I would recommend the Queen Victoria Market (massive market with heaps of stuff for pretty cheap, can get really great food from here too!), Fitzroy Mills Market which is... it's a very trendy spot where you can get heaps of cool clothes and accessories. TBH it's not my cup of tea but there's also a bloke there that sells pretty nice toasties so it's fun to go to for that. I also recommend the Rose Street Market, beautiful handmade market with heaps of cool stuff. Can be pricey though, but even if you don't buy much from there, there's a lot of nice cafés and bakeries around that rule. It's also very close to the Fitzroy Market, so you can walk between them, as they run on the same days.
TBH for Melbourne, if you're interested pls send me an ask with stuff you're interested in, and I'll be able to narrow down some recommendations there. There's just a LOT of stuff to do in Melbourne as it is the State Capital.
Now for customs as an American that you should avoid while in Australia: this is a bit hard for me to answer as I've only been to the USA once so can't really remember that many differences so if any of these seem offensive to you, sorry. I would say you don't need to tip, but if you do it's appreciated. If you're on public transport, don't speak loudly on public transport, if you're driving, use your indicator/blinker. Our service culture is a lot different here, I would follow the etiquette of: the server/cashier/storeperson/whatever is doing me a favour, not the other way around, and this goes without saying but use please and thank-you with everyone for everything. Stick to the left!!! This goes for driving but for walking too, if you're walking around the city, stay on the left side of the footpath!!
God, that got long. Sorry!! Let me know if you have any other questions, esp regarding travelling around Victoria as I've done a HEAP of it with my family and can give you more specific recommendations if you would like :)
Most of all, when you're here, have fun! Strike up conversation with friendly looking locals and you will have a total blast.

I have now finally updated the ref sheet to the well renowned owner of Lime Ricky's Pizzeria and Soda Float Shop: Lime Ricky! (full name Richard Limerick)
I loved playing around with his color palette, so this was tons of fun!
(more info will be down below)
Lime Ricky is the owner, founder, and cook of Bright Light City's most popular pizzeria and soda float shop Lime Ricky's Pizza & Soda Floats, an adolescent/adult friendly version of Chuck-E-Cheese where the pizzeria (and arcade it comes with) is the main spot for the older kids and teens (and hungover adults coming from the many bars nearby) come to eat the greasy but addicting junk food and the soda float shop being for the number one hang out spot for teens and adults that want to stay away from the bar scene in Bright Light City and would rather have a nice soda float instead
Lime Ricky is very much well known for his laidback, easygoing, and overzealous with a really good snarky sense of humor but also a sleazy and shady business owner who only seems to show care for the creating of his greasy junk food concoctions, mixing up his world famous specialty soda floats, and/or when he's counting his money. He doesn't seem to care all that much about the upkeep or sanitation of the pizzeria like he does for his soda float shop nor does he give a shit about the supervision of the children who come there "as long as they asses get in the door an' their parents pay the cash" (as Ricky would put it himself)
As a result, kids are often seen unsupervised running amuck and causing chaos in the pizzeria, a lot of it also oddly caused by Lime Ricky's most favorite customer: Wispy Brighton!
Lime Ricky also comes from a long line of restaurant owners, chefs, and entertainers alike where he has learned about the three topics from his father (the owner and cook of a popular diner) and his grandfather (a business man and stand up comedian) and has put them into Lime Ricky's Pizza & Soda Floats
Another thing that Lime Ricky is (unfortunately) known for is having extremely greasy fur and hair and smelling of fried food and old cooking oil due to how long and frequent he works on the kitchen making pizza and other greased up foods alike, so many are hesitant when it comes to making physical contact with the rat!
------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
Wispy and Lime Ricky (and Dave) met each other at a house party that Wispy was throwing at his apartment one night and Lime Ricky just so happened to be one of the guests that night, once they met each other and realized they had similar interests (partying, weed, and junk food), they had hit it off right away and have been friends since
The reason why Wispy is Lime Ricky's most favorite customer and let's him eat for free is due to one: free weed from Wispy and two: Wispy's chaotic antics he causes at the pizzeria and going to the soda float shop to cool off afterwards was oddly bringing in more customers and money for him, so he's let him eat for free since
His favorite kind of pizza is half meat lover's pizza and half five-cheese pizza
His favorite kind of soda float is a Cherry Lime Ricky with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a cherry and whipped cream on top
On Friday and Saturday nights, he does a stand up comedy routine on the stage of the pizzeria (which usually houses an animatronic band) to entertain the customers, which is pretty much just Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog mixed with Gilbert Gottfried
His favorite fruits are limes and cherries
------------------------------------------------------
Woo!! I hope that you guys enjoy him, he was a lot of fun!
Please enjoy!!

Setting: Brighton Beach
Saoirse has shut down one of the UK’s most famous beaches, Brighton Beach for Jack’s birthday. Brighton is a pebbly beach with certified Blue Flag waters a 4-mile promenade that buzzes with life in all seasons. It is known as London’s beach, even though it is 47 miles away.
The waters can be chilly but are popular for swimming and watersports such as windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and wakeboarding. They all look good from the comforts of a deckchair! Kids can have fun in the free paddling pool. Sand is imported each summer to accommodate the volleyball court.
There’s a Victorian pier nearby and a traditional fairground along with cafes, restaurants, and beach clubs. Next to the pier is the Sea Life Centre which is probably the oldest aquarium in the world, dating back to 1872. All of this is included in the event.

[ad_1] Enjoy the Victorian splendour and Bohemian allure of Britain’s most progressive seaside resort with our guide to visiting Brighton on a day trip.   LAST UPDATE: 30 Dec 2023 Anywhere We Roam is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn a small affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks for your support - Paul & Mark. Since King George IV built his party pad, Brighton Pavilion, for regular royal romps by the seaside, Brighton has been the go-to-destination for a weekend of revelry. Closer to modern times, Brighton prides itself on being the poster child for inclusivity and counterculture. It has the highest density of vegan restaurants in the country, a thriving LGBT scene, edgy street art and quirky shops in run-down Victorian buildings. Our day trip to Brighton covers the most important attractions in the right order so you can see the best of Britain’s diverse seaside resort. The map at the end of this guide provides a walking route to take with you on your Brighton day tour. BRIGHTON DAY TRIP / MORNING COFFEE Brighton has excellent coffee, fuelled by a competitive independent café scene. Start your day out in Brighton with Coffee@33 near the train station. NORTH LAINE After coffee stroll around North Laine, (not to be confused with The Lanes, see below) a collection of quirky independent shops spread along a couple of narrow streets. The main section is based around Sydney Street, Kensington Gardens, Gardner Street and Bond Street. It’s our favourite part of Brighton with a laid-back, alternative vibe. You’ll find everything from vintage clothes to musical instruments. Stores packed with curiosities overflow onto the streets. There are cool record shops, bookstores, cafes, and plenty of great finds to be discovered. NORTH LAINE, BRIGHTON Keep an eye out for the street art and rooftop installations giving North Laine area its distinctive personality. Here are some of the shops to check out: Snooper’s Paradise – This famous vintage shop on Kensington Gardens sells bric-a-brac, clothing, vinyl, antiques, toys and much more.   Photomatic – Get a retro-styled snap at the Photomatic booth to remember your Brighton day trip. Dave’s Comics – Check out the excellent selection of graphic novels, comics, posters, children’s books, and Manga at Dave’s Comics. DAVE’S COMICS PHOTOMATIC SNOOPER’S PARADISE ROYAL PAVILION After exploring North Laine, continue down to the Royal Pavilion. The Royal Pavilion is a Grade I listed former royal residence. It was built as a seaside pleasure palace for King George IV while he was the Prince of Wales. His extravagance and passion for the good things in life resulted in the richly decorated whimsical palace you see today. It’s one of the most popular things to do in Brighton and it’s well worth visiting on a day trip. Tickets // Book Royal Pavilion skip-the-line tickets. BRIGHTON PAVILION PAVILION GARDENS Don’t miss the beautiful garden that surrounds the Pavilion. The organic garden maintained by a team of volunteers is a lovely free green space in the centre of Brighton.   BRIGHTON MUSEUM & ART GALLERY (OPTIONAL) The Brighton Museum & Art Gallery is just across the gardens from the Pavilion. The Fine Art collection contains some old masters and modern artists. The Ancient Egypt section is one of the largest in the country. There’s also a fashion collection, images of Brighton through the years and a section on design and technical innovation.   // Pavilion or Musum For a day trip, we’d recommend doing either the Pavilion or the Museum, but you probably wouldn’t have time to do both.   BRIGHTON PAVILION BRIGHTON MUSEUM PAVILION GARDENS THE LANES Next head downhill and into The Lanes. It was once the hub of the old fishing port of Brighton. Today it’s an area of tight lanes with restaurants, tea rooms, and some traditional pubs. It’s an often-recommended Brighton attraction. However, in our opinion, it’s only worth a quick stroll.
It’s mostly dominated by jewellery stores, but there are a few interesting spots including the Lanes Armoury and Paxon & Glew Art Gallery. THE LANES, BRIGHTON BRIGHTON DAY TRIP / LUNCH By now you’re probably ready for lunch. You could either grab something in the Lanes or walk down to the Fishing Quarter on the seafront and try some fresh seafood. Here are some suggestions: Lost in the Lanes – A contemporary restaurant in the Lanes with an excellent brunch and lunch menu. Brighton Shellfish & Oyster Bar – A Brighton institution on the seafront selling an excellent range of shellfish including Oysters from Jersey. The Brighton Smokehouse – Try a sandwich with traditionally smoked fish at this hole-in-the-wall café. LOST IN THE LANES BRIGHTON DAY TRIP / AFTERNOON FISHING QUARTER The Fishing Quarter is home to Brighton’s fishing heritage. Take a quick look around the free Brighton Fishing Museum then visit the other old vaults occupied by local artists, photographers, and independent traders. BRIGHTON BEACH Head along the seafront, towards the i360 to explore the beach. If the weather’s good you might have time for a quick swim. Alternatively, there are plenty of water sports available. You’ll also find plenty of bars and pubs spilling onto the beach. BRIGHTON FISHING QUARTER BRIGHTON BEACH BRIGHTON i360 Stroll past the iconic Brighton Grand Hotel on your way to the Brighton i360. Experience 360-degree views of the city and the seafront from the 162-metre-high rotating observation deck. Tickets // Book Brighton i360 skip-the-line tickets. WEST PIER RUIN Just opposite the Brighton i360, is the West Pier Ruin. It originally opened in 1866 and it was the first Grade I listed pier in England. Closed since 1975, the pier fell into gradual ruin until fires in 2003 destroyed much of what was left. It remains a slightly eery photo spot in Brighton. I360 WEST PIER RUIN UPSIDE DOWN HOUSE Continue along the foreshore to stop at the Upside Down House. Combining street art with an entertainment space, experience the illusion of zero-gravity inside the mind-bending house. Purchase a combined entry ticket for the Brighton i360 and the Upside Down House, saving 20%. BRIGHTON PHOTOGRAPHY Just behind the Upside Down House in the King’s Road Arches, we recommend popping into Brighton Photography. They have stunning images of the city and South Downs area by local photographers. UPSIDE DOWN HOUSE BRIGHTON BEACH BANDSTAND Continue along the seafront to the Brighton Bandstand. The ornate structure opened in 1884 and it was restored to its original condition in 2009. It’s considered to be one of the finest examples of a Victorian bandstand still surviving in England today. BRIGHTON PALACE PIER Retrace your steps and head back to the Brighton Palace Pier. The iconic Brighton attraction opened in 1899 and has provided fairground entertainment ever since. There are rides, arcade games, side shows and various play areas. The Helter Skelter is one of Brighton’s most recognisable attractions.   BRIGHTON PALACE PIER BRIGHTON BANDSTAND BRIGHTON DAY TRIP / EVENING SUNSET DRINKS After getting your kicks on the Palace Pier, grab sunset drinks. Palm Court Restaurant occupies a prime spot on the pier with unbeatable sea views. From November to January, large numbers of starlings congregate at dawn and dusk around Brighton’s pier. When they take to the skies it is a fantastic wildlife spectacle known as a ‘Starling murmuration’. BRIGHTON BEACH NIGHTTIME ENTERTAINMENT Brighton has a long reputation as an inclusive destination. At just 50 miles from London, it’s easy to take advantage of the nightlife on a day trip. The area of Kemptown is the gay capital of Brighton and it’s the perfect spot for a pub crawl. Black Dove, Plotting Parlour and Proud Cabaret are all worth checking out. The Brighton Dome is the top live music destination in town. It’s a unique venue that features everything from classical music to dance and comedy.
At the end of the night, walk back to Brighton train station and take the train back to London. BRIGHTON DOME MAP | BRIGHTON DAY TRIP Starting at the train station, this map provides a route through North Laine towards the seafront then back to the Palace Pier to capture all the attractions on this day trip. >> How to use this map / Click on the top left of the map to display the list of locations, then click on the locations to display further information. Click on the top right corner of the map to open a larger version in a new tab or the star to save to your Google Maps.   OTHER THINGS TO DO IN & AROUND BRIGHTON Here are a few more things to do in Brighton if you have some more time, or perhaps for a 2nd day trip. SEA LANES The Sea Lanes opened in June 2023 and transformed a previously neglected area of the Brighton seaside. While you may not have time to visit on your Brighton day trip, it’s a fantastic swimming venue with several bars and cafes overlooking the water. BEACH BOX SPA The Beach Box Spa is an all-year sauna set on the pebbles of Brighton. There are 3 different saunas: two 6-seaters and one 12-seater. The wood-fired, converted horse trailers also have panoramic views of the sea. Several treatments are available, and they host regular events with a healthy and mystic focus. BEACH BOX SPA SEA LANES SEA LIFE & ZIPWIRE Sea Life Brighton holds the distinction of being the oldest operating aquarium in the world. It opened in 1872 and continues to be one of Brighton’s star attractions. There are around 5,500 creatures in the Victorian aquarium. Just across the road Zip Wire Brighton is the longest zip line on the South Coast. BRIGHTON TOY MUSEUM The Brighton Toy Museum is located underneath the Victorian arches of the railway station so it’s a good thing to visit on your way in or out of town. It’s home to an extensive collection of toys from the golden age of toy manufacturing including rare vintage model train sets. BRIGHTON MARINA Brighton Marina is a harbour with shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Most of the restaurants are chain outlets you could find anywhere and it’s around 40 minutes’ walk from the Palace Pier, so we suggest you give it a miss on your day trip. TOY MUSEUM ZIP WIRE BRIGHTON MARINA HOW TO GET TO BRIGHTON Brighton is a seaside resort, 47 miles (76 kilometres) south of London. The fastest route to Brighton from London is by train from either London Victoria or London Bridge. Direct trains depart regularly and take just under 1 hour.   Check cheap train tickets on thetrainline.com DAY TRIPS FROM BRIGHTON If you decide to stay on a little longer in the South Downs area, here are some great day trips from Brighton we highly recommend. The Seven Sisters Cliff Walk is one of the finest in the country and just a 20-minute bus ride from Brighton. Lewes is a traditional market town and a great day out from Brighton. The high street has a mix of nostalgic and contemporary shops, and Lewes Castle dates back to 1066. It’s around 20 minutes by train.   Devil’s Dyke is a 100-metre V-shaped valley, 6 miles from Brighton. It’s a great place to enjoy the wonderful outdoors of the South Downs. IS ONE DAY ENOUGH IN BRIGHTON? Given the proximity to London, one day in Brighton allows you to see the main attractions including North Laine, the Pavilion, and the Palace Pier. You’ll also be able to enjoy Brighton’s great food scene and stay a little later into the day to enjoy sunset. Turning your Brighton day trip into a weekend break is a great option in summer when you can laze on the beach and take advantage of the newly opened Sea Lanes. WHERE TO STAY IN BRIGHTON If you decide to stay over and enjoy a longer, lazier day in Brighton, here are some hotel recommendations. OUR PICK CHIC PUB THE GINGER PIG Blending tradition with contemporary style, The Ginger Pig is a luxurious stay in a modern pub with excellent food and cocktails. BOOKING.COM | HOTELS.COM

Tumblr media
As we all know, the Train is one of the best, easiest and cheapest ways to reach anywhere we want to. While being in London, everyone is very enthusiastic to reach the places that they have dreamt about and explore the new places and foods that will excite them. But when you step out of your house or hotel, one thing that comes first is how to go.
What transportation to choose? And to reach your destination, you have to choose any transportation so that your time is not extra wasted. You enjoy it to the fullest and come back to your place safely and in time. And to do that, a train is the best option. All you have to do is book a London train ticket and reach your destination in less time, enjoy the seaside view, relax, and leave all your worries behind.
To keep your adventure alive and happening, below are some seaside places where you can reach by Train and enjoy to the fullest. Let's get right into it without any further ado!
Southend-on-sea, Assesx
Stop by to enjoy the scenic view and the sunset. This place is famous for its culture and art, and you can have some snacks, sit by, and watch the ships come and go.
You can reach this place by Train in 1 hour 15 minutes from London Liverpool streets. However, the time by car is more than the Train.
Whitstable, Kent
If you are into seafood, then this place is definitely for you. The famous Oyster is the attraction of this place. Whitstable is majorly known for its dotted towns, and it is one of the best places for tourists to enjoy the food and their time. From London, Victoria to Whitstable, it will take around 1 hour 30 minutes, which is way faster than by car as it will take you almost 2 hours to reach the destination by car.
Brighton, England
The place is majorly known for beaches filled with pebbles and beautiful views that please the eyes; this town is full of British views of the seaside. Here you can reach in less time by Train. If you take the Train from London Victoria Station, you will reach it in 58 minutes only, and if you take the Train from London Bridge, then it will take you around 1 hour and 3 minutes. More or less, the Train is the best transportation for travel.
Herne Bay, Kent
To reach this place, you can take the Train from London St. Pancras International to Herne Bay, which will make you reach it in about 1 hour 30 minutes. You can also split saving to make it hassle-free. This place, well, is full of beauties. Island, if you are a foodie, then you enjoy the tasty sandwiches and sweet cakes from The Vintage Empire Tearoom. Seems a very compelling place to stop by and spend some time.
Margate, Kent
One of the most famous seasides you will visit is Market, situated in Kent. You can visit here by sitting on the Train from London to St. Pancras, which will drop you in Margate in just 1 hour and 30 minutes. This place is filled with beautiful seaside views, and city life comes into relaxation mode in Margate. Here, you will find 18th-century chalk-mined decorations with unique designs and styles of carvings and paintings; the one who loves art and is into history will love the place.
Broadstairs, Kent
It is a 1950s seaside that gives a perfect vibe of innocence and freedom. This place offers some or the other things to everyone who visits it, meaning this place has everything that you would like to have according to your mood and wish. From Sandy Beach and sand dunes to painted huts and foods, tiny movie cinemas are also found on this seaside view. And you can not miss this place. To reach here, you can take the Train from London St. Pancras to Broadstairs in just 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Ramsgate, Kent
If you wish to visit a posh area, then stop your clock here in Ramsgate, situated in Kent. This place will give you dreamy eyes and eye-pleasing views, from big town halls to fancy shops and restaurants filled with people who are locals and tourists as well, and you can also visit the antique shop. Also, it is said that this place is home to the Royal Victoria Pavilion. Isn't it amazing to know the place, which is also the royal house? Now you can reach this seaside by Train in 1 hour and 40 minutes if you take the Train from London St Pancras. This place is a must-visit.
Folkestone, Kent
The place is famous for its folklore about the mermaid. They make a big Mermaid and celebrate their culture and traditions by singing, dancing, and feasting. Folkestone is a resort town located in the southeast of Kent. This place is better made for people who want to enjoy their weekend or plan a vacation. Earlier, it was a harbour and shipping port, and slowly, it got transformed and became a destination for a vacation. To visit this place, you can take the Train from London to St. Pancras, which will reach your destination, Folkestone, in just an hour. While being in London, you must go and visit this place for its beauty and history.
Though you can visit other seaside as well like Dartmouth in England or Rye in East Sussex by Train and it will take 1 hour to reach the destination from London.
But the above-mentioned seaside is about 1 hour away from your destination by Train. Trains prove to be the best transportation of all, as they take less time than others, making you reach your destination early, which gives you plenty of time to explore more places, visit new places, and enjoy more.

August 7, 2022
Sunday was our first full day in London! Ingvar and I slept until about 8, then got ready for our day. Zach had found a place in Knotting Hill that he wanted to check out for breakfast, called Farm Girl. We took the bus to Ealing Broadway, then the underground to Knotting Hill. We walked around a little bit to find the restaurant, but it was a really nice day!
We had to wait a little bit, but then got seated in a cute, small restaurant. I ordered some fruity pancakes and a coffee and the food was tasty. It was nice to not feel jet lagged and hang out with Zach and catch up. It’s pretty entertaining listening to Ingvar and Zach—they have so many inside jokes and movie references they call back in conversation.
After breakfast we walked around Knotting Hill. We went into a few stores and there was a market going on, on the street. Zach needed another coffee because he accidentally ordered a weird coffee at Farm Girl. We stopped at a shop and he got a Cuban coffee. We walked around the area, then eventually found ourselves in Hyde Park—London’s most famous park. A lot of the grass was brown because it was summer, which I didn’t mind (I think watering grass just to keep it green is a huge waste of money and resources). We took some photos and wandered around, then bought some sunscreen so we wouldn’t burn.
We decided to try and find a pub that Ingvar could watch his English soccer team play—Manchester United. We had to stop in a few pubs, but then eventually found a place that was going to have it on TV. Ingvar and I shared some fish and chips with mushy peas, and we all had a few beers while we relaxed inside (it was hot outside!) and watched the match. Unfortunately, Manchester United lost the match to Brighton, but it was still nice for Ingvar to watch it live!
After watching the soccer match, we decided to go to an area called SoHo. We walked to the Paddington Station (which is a huge and busy station in London), and took the underground to SoHo. It was a very hip and young area—lots of bars and restaurants and patio tables. The three of us spent a few hours going to two different bars and trying new beers (for Ingvar and I at least), and chatting.
We all got kabob sandwiches for dinner, that was so tasty! We took the underground and bus back to Zach’s for the night—it had been a busy and fun day! We walked a lot and were excited for the next day! :]

are you able to post screenshots for the new findjackwalten? im on mobile and the website haaaaates it
So i was WAY too tired to to this last night, so to make up for it now I'm going to give a little walkthrough of everything that changed
Obviously the main page is entirely different. It's extremely distorted on desktop and actually looks way nicer on mobile, because this entire website is designed specifically for mobile viewing.
Tumblr media
(Desktop View)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Mobile View)
(This page used to also be redirected to through findjackwalten/the-future-of-technology, but it seems that redirect is now findjackwalten/cyberfuntech82)
On mobile, the correctly-aligned text reads as follows: '"THE BON'S BURGERS PROJECT" written by: Kant Tenessee Since the 1960s, Businessmen Felix A. Kranken and Jack Walten have been setting up an all-new entertaintment center in Brighton, MI. "The Most Advanced Animated Show in Livingston County" is what CyberFun Tech, head company of manufacturing Bon's Burgers' magical entertaintment, said to define this brand new place. Bon's Burgers is set to open on June 1st, promising quality service and custom shows for families and birthdays. "It is a miracle in the making" said Susan Woodings, Cyberfu"
This last paragraph is overlaid partially by upside-down text that reads: ""A SMALL SETBACK IN AN OTHERWISE BRILLIANT PROJECT" BON'S BURGERS OPENING DELAYED OVER UNKNOWN INCONVENIENCE. written by: allison gunn The now "famous" Bon's Burgers restaurant, set to open in June 1st, has been now set to open it's doors on June 28th. Public is confused. It was a disappointing scene of June 1st, when a big crowd stayed hours awaiting the opening of "Livingston County's most advanced entertaintment center". It was about 6 PM on June 1st where Felix A. Kranken, co-founder, said the following words: "It is a shame to announce that the long-awaited opening of the restaurant will have to be delayed, due to multiple inconveniences in the process of getting everything ready for this event. Many unfortunate news have caused work to be in hiatus and delayed. We're looking foward to open this place on a few weeks from now: July 28th, 10 AM. We apologize for the inconvenience and for wasting people's time, however, we believe this is just a minor setback in an otherwise brilliant project, stay tuned for more ne"
which itself its overlaid by several variations of the phrase "A minor setback?" which repeat down the length of the page. This text is copy/pasted directly from the site, so any grammatical errors (ie; "entertaintment", or "foward" instead of 'forward') are authentic to the text of the website. It also might be worth noting that at the beginning of the second article the delayed opening date is listed as "June 28th", which we know to be accurate, but is later written as "July 28th" when quoted from Felix. I'm not sure if that's a genuine typo or if there's any kind of information to be gleaned from that mistake.
Next is /jackwalten . which is just EXTREMELY COOL
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is just so genuinely chilling to me i love this one. It is so thoroughly unsettling, this imagery is incredible.
Worth noting that the image of the mounted buck's head appears to have a title? Which is notable on account of most other images on the site being Untitled (or "Sin Título", Literally meaning "No Title", this is the default file name if your system's default/native language is Spanish. I have seen some people be confused by this.)
Tumblr media
It looks like it reads "s-l300", but I can't actually copy/paste the original text to see if what looks like a lowercase L is actually a capital I because of the way Wix, which this site is built with, stores images.
A cursory google search tells me a Motorola SL300 is a two-way radio/walkie talkie, which seems relevant? But i'm not sure if it's too recent of a model to be congruent timeline-wise. S-I300 (capital I) gives me... a caulking gun? which seems less relevant.
Maybe worth noting that the "l300" text reads a little like the word "BOO" which, if nothing else, is very cute.
/rosemarywalten is entirely empty except for this text
Tumblr media
To me this reads like wedding vows, it seems to connect to the "I can love" text on Jack's page?
/sophiewalten has the same image of Edd & Molly it's had the entire time it's existed, as well as this text.

"Do I know what I'm getting myself into?" I've already seen it theorized that the text on this page is Sophie like, chewing out Felix? In what's meant to be an empowering moment for her? Which I cannot agree with, especially considering the hidden word
