We had our tree and logo hand drawn for us in Portland, OR about 12 years ago when we knew we’d be opening up the clinic. Happy Summer Solstice! ☀️The official Summer Solstice happened just before midnight last night- the longest day of the year. This is when Yang is at it’s peak, and Yin is at it’s nadir. This is a time where the energy is more on the surface of the body and in the environment. As one would say from Chinese Medicine wisdom, “the qi is in your sails” to be more active, more social and follow what makes you feel energized and fun. Just make sure to balance it with getting enough sleep and hydration! ☺️ This is also a time of year where anxiety and insomnia may be more prevalent, since so much energy is at the surface and not as rooted. If this is the case for you, guided meditations, setting a daily balanced schedule, eating healthy foods rich in good fats (like avocados and nut butters) and healthy proteins and veggies will help ground and center the body.
