I'd like to see a Zelda game where Ganondorf isn't initially a villain, he starts off as a loyal subject of Hyrule, a personal friend of Zelda and a mentor of Link. All of this completely earnestly, not as part of some long reaching plot. But like all great fallen heroes of fiction, over the course of the game his flaws start to overpower him, the temptation of power growing, something dark within his soul creating hatred and malice he increasingly can't cointain. And so it goes until the initial villain is defeated halfway through the game, at which point Ganondorf betrays Link and Zelda, pushing them to their darkest hour. There should be some dramatic irony there, the player knows Ganondorf is evil, but he should be on the side of good for long enough that they start to doubt themselves. Maybe throw in a final battle where you defeat him by reminding him of the man he used to be, giving a window to put down the monster he's become, as a treat.

vincent doesn't remember being vio, which means he doesn't remember shadow being a gay disaster pining for him. shadow remembers it all clearly, save for vio betraying him. this is the scene where vincent pieces together exactly who it is shadow meant when he previously mentioned having a crush on a guy in his past life lmao

WIP Wednesday!

The river below roared as nine swordsmen lingered outside a cliff-side cave, shifting uneasily. Despite the bright afternoon, the mouth of the cave loomed dark and foreboding, as if the sun itself had turned away from the riverside bluff. Even the birds seemed to have abandoned the nearby grove of trees, leaving only the thunder of rushing water and the group’s faint murmurs and shuffling to break the silence. Hyrule stood near the back of the group, instinctively putting their bodies between himself and the dark mist curling from the cave’s entrance. Something deep in his core had tightened the closer they came to their destination, twisting into a knot as the cave came into view. The thought of the task ahead of them turned his stomach more than the smell of rot emanating from the cave. “Is this it?” the eldest of their group, Time, asked. “Yup.” Legend stood with a hand on his hip, looking at the cave with a grim expression. “It’s a shame. She helped a lot during my first adventure.” Hyrule’s eyes flicked toward him. “You knew her?” Legend nodded towards the mountain range beyond the cave. “My first dungeon is up there. This fountain’s fairies are half the reason I survived. It kind of feels wrong to repay her with…well, this.” He gestured toward the fountain’s entrance. Pulling his scarf over his mouth, Warriors stepped closer to the cave. “Anything we should know about the terrain in there, vet?” Legend shrugged. “It’s pretty standard as far as underground fountains go—or it was. A couple statues and the pond. I don’t know what else to expect in there since…. In any case, it may be tight. These things aren’t roomy.” “Should we split up?” Sky asked, eyeing the darkness apprehensively. He had never been one for caves. Hyrule, on the other hand, would have been ecstatic to go spelunking in his predecessor’s time period, if not for the solemn nature of their task. Killing a Great Fairy. She’s already gone, Hyrule told himself, a lump lodged in his throat.

interesting and absolutely devastating thing in Fallen Heroes so far is the emphasis placed on Julian's execution being what drives the characters who know about it- Odo, Quark, and Sisko- to seek justice and/or not give in to despair

FROM MY TIMELINES CONCEPT

Boy, am I falling in love with this paring idea. In the first iteration of the timeline, Ganondorf slays the hero - whose soulforce laid incomplete when separated from his shadow - in which Ganondorf extracted him within the Sacred Realm.

Instead of attempting to take the demon king by surprise in a last effort - Zelda implores Dark to return the master sword and turn back time in order to rewrite it.

In Timeline 2 - Sheik and Dark must work together to prevent the end of the Hero.

I love the idea of exploring the shadow self - especially in such a weighted story like OOT. Imagine if Dark Link was exactly that - his extracted self - the accumulation of all the anguish, suffering, and anger Link has and will go through - as shattered as the timelines themselves.

Of course, there would be a part of him that was angry with Zelda -how could one not be a flurry of mixed emotions? Such begins their complex entanglement of destined souls - and the beginning of the Fierce Deity.
