As a fan of both Pat Metheny and David Bowie I genuinely think they could have ruled the world if they made a whole album together. "This is not America" is proof of that, his vocals are just heavenly with that baseline. While I know for a fact that Pat's music seldom works with added lyrics (Pino Daniele's live rendition of Last Train Home during a tour with Pat is an interesting example), that song is a beautiful exception. Pat has always experimented with genres, merging jazz with whatever else he wanted (and doing it spectacularly!!) and the vibes of First Circle (his 1984 album with the PMG) are actually pretty visible in the theme for Falcon and the Snowman. If I didn't love Secret Story (1995) so much, I'd say that FC is in fact his best album. Imagining it with Bowie's vocals is pretty good, actually. Anyway yeah in an alternate timeline This is not America sparked a lifelong collaboration, I can feel it in my bones.

Dating Sam Wilson Headcanons
Sam is perfection. He's the perfect boyfriend anyone could ever ask for.
He's kind, he's brave, he's absolutely in love with you, he knows how to take care of you.
People underestimate him. It's obvious, since he hangs out with super soldiers like Steve and Bucky, but you're very happy for Sam, your boyfriend. You love Sam for what he is, you appreciate his abilities honestly, and give him credit where it's due.
Sam pretends to be happy and confident all the time, but you can see beneath his charming exterior.
He has insecurities, has low confidence, and a lot of self-doubt. He's an Avenger, and a lot of things come with that. You always try to reassure him that what he's doing is enough, and that he's more than enough, sometimes it convinces him, sometimes it doesn't.
His love language is acts of service. He's the kind of person who'd do anything to reduce your work, and try his best to keep you stress-free and happy.
Sam likes to talk to you. He's always trying to make you laugh, and he bear it when you, the love of his life, is sad. He'll do anything to make you happy.
You have your highs and lows, and each time, he's there to support you.
Sam's great at giving a pep talk, since he was like a counselor to war veterans. But for you, he adds personal touch, and gives you real, useful advices instead of painting pictures in thin air.
You two watch a lot of movies together, and Sam spends a large time explaining to you how unrealistic the action scenes are. You bite your tongue every time and try not to remind him of the fact that he's an Avenger, and fights like that too.
People try to tell you that you can do better than Sam, or in exact words, 'why Sam Wilson? why didn't you go for Captain America or his hot friend?'. You get tired of telling people that it's Sam you love, and you don't have eyes for anyone else.
Sometimes, when Sam hears this, he gets upset. A part of him believes that you deserve far more than what he has to offer, but you dismiss his doubts by saying that it's him you love and him you want.
Your boyfriend is a hero not only for millions, but also for you. But his hero is you, his beloved partner.

I just finished watching Falcon and the Winter Soldier and,,,, that scene in the last episode where Bucky is watching Sam give the speech? All that is going through his brain is: "The head I am going to give this man later, holy shit"

The Adventures of Bucky Barnes and Y/n Stark | Madrippoor | Bucky's Doll

My first post let me know your thoughts!!
Tumblr media
You were at a club in Madrippoor, on a mission with Sam, Bucky, and Zemo. You all were going to meet with Selby.
“Remember, stay in character,” Zemo says quietly as we walk to where Selby is.
“Baron welcome welcome, I wasn’t expecting you here tonight and you’ve brought friends I see.” Selby grins staring you down with a predatory demeanor.
“Ah, apologies I did not introduce you yet. Selby this is our friend y/n.” Zemo began, you don’t make eye contact but, give a polite smile.
“A quiet one I see. I like that come here, my dear.” Selby commanded, you simply walked over but glanced at the others before approaching her.
You knew you had to do as told but were quite hesitant, unsure what would come next. Selby grabbed your wrist pulling you to sit next to her. "Now Baron, what is it you came here for?" She looked towards Zemo while still having a grip on you
"Well my dear, I have come with an offer. You see we need some information on the super soldier serum..." Zemo was cut off
"And let me guess, you need my help?"
"Precisely" Zemo gives a smug smile.
Selby gives a mischievous grin before saying "Well, what is it you have to offer?"
"Glad you asked. As for what I have to offer well, I can give you our little friend here. She's quite good company." he smirks, and your gaze goes to him quickly in slight fear, this was never a part of the plan.
Bucky steps forward like he is about to say something but stays quiet, clenching his jaw clearly holding back. Selby grins at the thought of owning you
"Alright, Baron. Will she do anything I ask or will we have to break her in?"
"No need she is quite the obedient one, isn't that right y/n?" Zemo looks at you with a smug smile you shyly nod.
"Aw come on, use your word my pet" Zemo gestures for you to speak
"Yes sir" you reply in a soft-spoken voice.
"Before you hand her off I'd like a demonstration just so I know I'm not being lied to," Selby says not quite convinced of my submissiveness
"Of course, come here my pet" Zemo commanded you went over to him immediately but you glanced at Bucky knowing he hated every moment of someone touching what's his.
Zemo looks to you "Kneel" he demands you get down to your knees staring down he takes his hand and gently but firmly grabs your chin tilting your head up to meet his gaze. From there Zemo runs his thumb across your bottom lip
"Let's show what that pretty little mouth can do" With that he brings his other hand to his waistband beginning to undo his pants.
Bucky was barely holding it together he had his hand in a fist his jaw clenched. Zemo smirks while pulling his rock-hard cock out it was on full display he tugged at your bottom lip before releasing his grip on you. You look up at him before sticking your tongue out your mouth dropping open he brings his cock closer putting his hands at the back of your head and forcing you forward. Your mouth wraps around Zemos shaft as he thrusts into your mouth gagging you with his length. He grabs all of your hair turning it into a makeshift ponytail and pushing you down further on his shaft Selby has an evil grin on her face watching intently sipping her cocktail.
"Such a good girl" he groans drool starting to run down your face your mind somewhat melting away as you taste the saltiness of precum.
Zemo's head tilts back slightly he groans feeling so much pleasure as your head bobs on his cock finally he comes releasing his load into your mouth "Swallow" he demands his voice low and ragged you meet his eyes and swallow
"Good girl" he pulls his cock from your mouth and wipes the mix of his seed and your saliva from your chin. Zemo puts his cock back into his pants adjusting himself Selby smirked with amusement. It was obvious she was intrigued by you and your submissive nature she also loved getting a rise out of Bucky who was clearly angered by the whole ordeal.
"I must say Baron she is quite the obedient one. We have a deal" Selby grins walking over "Perfect. She's all yours" Zemo backs away from you.

Throwback: David Bowie-This Is Not America
Tumblr media
David Bowie and Pat Metheny collaborated on "This Is Not America" for the soundtrack to The Falcon and the Snowman. Bowie wrote the lyrics after watching the film which was about two American men who sold security secrets to the Soviet Union. Metheny plays rhythm guitar on the moody single and Bowie's poetic words captured the essence of the movie's theme of disillusionment and betrayal. He did not appear in the video which was comprised of clips from the movie. "This Is Not America" was released as a single in 1985 and it appeared on the soundtrack. The song also appears on various Bowie albums including The Singles Collection, Tonight, Best Of Bowie, The Platinum Collection, The Best Of David Bowie, Nothing Has Changed, Bowie Legacy, and the Loving The Alien boxset. The late artist performed a variation of the song for Diddy's "American Dream" from The Training Day soundtrack. On January 8, 2024,  Paris dedicated a road named Rue David Bowie to the singer on what would have been his 77th birthday.

The Ghosts of Windy Ridge
Turn #112, The Ghost Jamboree
28 April 2022, Thursday Night - The Ghost Jamboree
Rather than roll right up to the Yellow Cross, I parked a few yards down the road and then walked the rest of the way. The sun was definitely down. A gentle rustling off to my right made me look over the treeline. There was a familiar silhouette. "Hey, Dave, nice to see you this evening."
"Dave's not here, man," came the predictable reply from the tall tree spirit.
And with that, I suddenly felt a prickling wave of heat pass over my skin, though the night was cool. Just like the first time I'd met Dave the Tree, every spirit around suddenly lit up and they were all converging at the Yellow Cross.
When I approached the cross, I could see the glowing form of Ergediel floating above and behind the shrine. Further back on the ridge and headed down the slope was Black Shuck in his loping, smoke-cloud gait. Overtaking Black Shuck, and nearly seeming to disrupt the integrity of his ghost dog body in a heavy breeze was Shawasha, causing swirling patterns in the grasses and shrubs along the ridge and down to the shrine. I could feel Foras lurking somewhere off toward the Crossroads, headed this way.
A familiar voice next to me said, "Good evening, Serren."
"George, a pleasure to see you," I said, even though I had no visual sense of Dani's departed grandfather. "I brought a couple dressed candles, do you have any recommendations as to placement?"
"Hmm, you are the one who is physically in the space, Serren. I trust your instincts on that."
I pulled out the candles and my lighter. Considering the scene, I nestled one next to a Sacred Heart of Jesus candle which was still burning, and put the other in amongst the few branded with the Academy logo. As I worked on this, I could feel an oppressing sensation. It was tied to an approaching spirit, Foras.
The only other local spirit I'd encountered in Windy Ridge who had not yet made an appearance as Mo himself. Part of me wondered if Mo had maybe gone down to the Great Hall to listen to the rants that undoubtedly would be arising from Hank's presentation. I took out a small towel from my basket and spread it out to sit on, then I made myself comfortable.
"You know your Maurice is always late," George said. "It's been years, Serren. You'd think he'd understand. I've only been coming to these for a few months."
I thought about the town and how I only knew a few people in it. And here, too, I must assume that despite what Dave the Tree had done for me, there were many more spirits here than I could identify individually. "What are these gatherings like, usually? Is it appropriate for me to even be here?"
"We're drawn here. I can't really say why. A lot of the time, we don't even talk to each other, let alone to those still in the physical realm. When I am not here, I am not sure exactly where I am. Sometimes, as you well know, I am able to visit people and places about the town, but not in a way that I have any control over. It is very confusing, most certainly. Maurice's ability to be late has been one of the more baffling things about this whole experience, honestly."
As if on cue, I heard Mo call out, "Hey, Rennie! Welcome to the party!" There he was, big as life, standing in front of the Yellow Cross, arms akimbo, that same subdued smirk which said he was planning mischief.
"Mo, great to see you, I'm sorry I wasn't here sooner."
"I've been at this party for years, Rennie. You could have come any time. But no, only when you need ol' Mo. Sure thing."
"Guilty as charged," I sighed. "The world has gone crazy since you left. I might be joining you at this party sooner rather than later if you can't help me find a way to keep Raj and Salimi from retaliating against me."
"I kept the receipts, Rennie. Raj knew all along that the paintings were fake. What he paid us was a fraction of his expected return now, some thirty years later. That means someone else has spotted at least one fake recently, probably when Raj was trying to sell'em. But he knew and there's proof in my documents from the Academy. I'm sure you can find them in the Academy's library."
"Heh, I think I've already got them back at the cabin I'm renting. What exactly am I looking for in there? It's not written out in plain text, I'm sure."
"Pretty damned close, actually. Look at the stock certificate receipts for MoFo Graphics Co. You'll find some 'out of range' certificates. Those are the paintings. Now, Rennie, please, join the party!"

Oh, foo, only one "Read More" clicky thing allowed per post...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mo is definitely based on a real-life person, but all the art forgery stuff is made up. The pic below is from the Game Developer's Conference held in San Jose, CA, March 21-23, 2002 where we were demoing MojoWorld. Our fearless leader went by the nickname "Doc Mojo" and I never really called him anything but Mo.

That's Mo in the back, me on the left and Daulton on the right. I'm the only one in the photo without a Wikipedia page and that's OK.
This is not the end of the novel! There are six more scenes coming!
