i know this isn't how you mean it but when you say "i mean that in a kind way" it reminds me of when an abuser says "no offence" or kinda gaslights someone if they "interpret" something wrong? and i just wonder if you can clarify why you put that.

I clarify because I struggle a lot with tone online. When I'm not sure how to word something in a way that makes it clear, I try and specify that I mean something with the best of intentions, or not passive aggressively or whatever else.

I know the sort of thing you're talking about, and I think a thing to look for in how you tell the difference is how someone reacts to you being upset over something. This is for real life relationships - I think it's complicated with people you don't know online.

If something someone says upsets you, and you let them know and their response was "Well, I didn't mean it like that. You're being sensitive". Then that's not okay...

Whether it was intentional or not, I think it's important to listen when people tell us something we've done that hurts them.

There was a time recently I said something to my partner, and it was totally innocent to me and not at all something I thought would upset him. He told me that he was having feelings about it, so I said to him. "I'm sorry! It wasn't my intention to upset you, but I can see that I did. I am really sorry that your feelings were hurt by something I said. Is there something I can do to help you feel better? If you'd like some space, I'm happy to give that to you if you need it."

Even if I technically didn't do anything wrong, I can still be sorry for someone being upset. And I don't get to decide his feelings are wrong. His feelings are his feelings.

Reader-Friends, thank you so much for your support! I'm experiencing some level of seizure almost every day now (my meds are very late, ty insurance). So I'm working slower. Taking naps. Cooking good food. I'm so happy I don't have a Real Job, quote unquote. I could never make it work with cancer. I'd fall apart from the stress and fatigue.

I feel your love. you make me feel like it's all gonna be okay.

i have enough funds now to pay for my site space, photoshop etc. Thank you all so much!

today is 2.10.2024. birthday on 2.14. i'll be 33. been fighting cancer for 8 years now! there have been so many days i thought i wouldn't make it. but i keep waking up in the morning.

may my comic bring you joy, strength, understanding and ultimately, confidence to keep going, no matter how broken the road is. And it's not you that is broken. It's the road before you. Maybe someone in the past took a sledgehammer to it. Maybe the broken road is your only choice available. Go slow. Step in the footsteps left behind by others. If you fall, let others pick you up.

I am getting so worn down from cancer and treatments. Emotionally I'm just wrecked. Cancer is literally breaking my bones and changing my brain and weighing down my soul.
