Luna is afraid of revealing her feelings for Storm, because he already goes soft on her when sparring. She spars with Gale. Her guild mark is located on her right shoulder and pink. She is a tsundere (harsh personality, but gradually becomes kinder). She is seventeen years old. She is a Sagittarius.

Nash Dragneel. He is gay. He has a huge appetite. He was born with heterochromia (one eye is a different color than the other). He is approachable, loud, and easily bashful and irritable. His emotions are easily wavered as well. He blushes crazy and cannot think straight when complimented, leading to people using his weakness to their advantage. He also tends to overthink. He is very forgetful. He is oblivious when people hit on him. He inherited his father’s fierce glare (when upset) and uses colorful language (curse words). He thinks Gale is hot (platonically). Nash and Storm like to spend time together and drink hot chocolate when it’s cold. His guild mark is located on his left shoulder blade. He likes to marathon tv shows and sports. His hobbies include boxing, writing, and gaming. He is a Celestial Mage and uses Gun Magic. He takes and learns advice from his mother. Nash and Sylvia get along well! His parents accept him after his relationship with Reiki becomes public, and the news shocks the guild because “it wasn’t obvious”. In the future, it is likely that Nash and Reiki open an orphanage (basically adopting dozens of children). He is sixteen years old. He is a Pisces.

Storm Fullbuster. He is very frank (direct) in terms of communication. He tends to drift off in his daydreams. He has learned his father’s stripping habit. He likes soft things and ice pops. His hobbies include dancing, skating, and cooking. He uses Water Body and Ice Make Magic. He curses while in “battle mode”. His guild mark is located on his left pectoral and blue. He feels confident and secure of Luna’s reciprocal feelings for him. He understands Luna’s fears, of their relationship changing if she reveals her feelings for him, once he sees the gleam in her eyes when she spars with Gale. Storm and Nash like to spend time together and drink hot chocolate when it’s cold. He is seventeen years old. He is a Leo.

Sylvia Fullbuster. She is the most proper of her siblings. She can be dramatic. She had some complications during her birth, so she is weaker than her twin brother. She is older than her twin brother, Rin. She idolizes Asuka Connell. She uses water based magic and mainly uses them for healing purposes (she learns from her mother and Wendy Marvell). She has the ability to summon rain. Sylvia and Nash get along well! She is bolder than Akatsuki. Her guild mark is located on her right hip. She is eleven years old. She is an Aries.

Rin Fullbuster. He has a fraternal twin sister and he is protective of her. He is hot headed, dramatic, and easily jealous. He is also the worst to anger, because he causes the most destruction when upset. He is labeled as the joker of the FTNewGen. He is tanner than his twin sister, because he is sporty, and the time he spends outside, means he is in the harsh sunlight. He has a “big potty mouth”. He learned his father’s stripping habit. He idolizes Asuka Connell. He likes Rosemary (“the plant”) and betting. HIs hobbies include dressing up and sleeping. He has a cross tattoo on the back of his neck. He uses Plasma Beams and Earth Elements Magic. His magic requires a lot of high pain tolerance and he has the ability to summon lava from the ground. His guild mark is located on his right hip. He is eleven years old. He is an Aries.

Reiki Fernandes. He is bisexual. He can be bossy and competitive, yet is cool headed, well-mannered, and polite. He inherited his mother’s intense glare. He also is prepared for anything and finds cleaning swords therapeutic (like his mother). He loves his mother. He can be a “drama queen” and is a trusted leader. He usually steps out of brawls victorious and unharmed. He is an S-Class mage. He is a “lousy assed drinker” (he turns to it when he gets too stressed). He is quite vague in terms of communication. He is more buff than Storm. He tends to “baby” his little sister. He thinks Gale is hot (platonically). He begged Gale to “make him look more like his father”, so Gale gave Reiki his facial tattoo. He dated Nova for a bit, before breaking up with her because she was not her true self like how she was with Gale. He helps out his father with cooking at home. He likes strawberry cakes and corny films. His hobbies include teasing guildmates (especially Nash), training and exploring. His parents accept him after his relationship with Nash becomes public, and the news shocks the guild because “it wasn’t obvious”. In the future, it is likely that Reiki and Nash open an orphanage (basically adopting dozens of children). He uses Destruction Magic and is a sword wielder. His guild mark is located on his right shoulder blade. He is nineteen years old. He is a Leo.

Rosemary Fernandes. She loves her father. She is cool headed and well-mannered, but also a kamidere (self-absorbed). She loves awards and profit, yet is not greedy. She was born with an insane amount of magic power, leading to multiple failed kidnappings by evil wizards. “Holding back” is not in her dictionary. She is an S-Class mage when she becomes a teenager. She prefers solo missions. She uses Crystal Control and Energy Manipulation Magic. Her guild mark is located on the middle of her lower back. She likes nature, mementos, and music. Her hobbies include sword fighting, sewing, and dancing. She is ten years old. She is an Aquarius.

Gale Redfox. As a child, he was all “sunshine and rainbows”. He used to be weak and timid, causing him to be bullied frequently. He was a HUGE mama’s boy and, now, tries his best to overcome his attachment to his mother. He got involved in bad company, which turned him into a rebel. He used his magic power to prank people and destroy public property. He started to work out and hone his powers to prove people wrong. He dyed his hair dark blue to appear more intimidating. The more trouble he got into, the more his father got worried, leading to fights between the two to vent out frustrations. Gajeel tells Gale about his time in Phantom Lord and how he doesn’t want his son following the same path. Gale returns to Fairy Tail to make amends. His guild mark is located on his left pectoral. He prefers solo missions. The Fullbuster twins seem to have taken a liking to him! He spars with Luna. He learns tattoo art in his free time and believes his mother’s Script Magic is the prettiest art there is. He is a much better singer than his father and, secretly, has singing lessons with Mirajane Strauss. He likes to eat mutton with mint ice cream. He never curses, but he does label or nickname people. He is a kuudere (shut out, cold, shows no emotions). Gale is the one who gave Reiki his face tattoo after Reiki was begging him to make him more like his father. His feisty relationship with Nova causes him to fall for her (unknowingly). Her mental strength encourages Gale to become more powerful to win her heart, even when he knew she fell for Reiki. When Nova breaks down, after learning Reiki is together with Nash, Gale comforts her and confesses his feelings. He tells her he loves her sassy, prideful, vulgar, and hot headed self (along with her good, kind heart). He starts to go out on more missions with Nova and realizes the reciprocal feelings. He is eighteen years old. He is a Scorpio.

“Little Redfox daughter”. Her possible names are Mackenzie, Venetia, or Izusa. She is possibly short or "little". She is possibly younger or "little(r)" than her brother.

“MIRAXUS son”. His possible names are Kai, Raiden, or Kakumi. He is an S-Class mage. He looks scary, but is not.

Nova Dreyar. Her father treats her like his little princess. She is sassy and powerful. She can be intimidating (like her parents). She prides herself in maintaining Fairy Tail’s powerful reputation, but stresses out because of the public’s expectation of her being just as powerful as her parents. She trains herself extensively to the point of exhaustion, and her parents intervened to convince her that she did not have to live up to anyone’s expectations. Nova would taunt and tease Gale to pressure him into becoming more powerful to prove her wrong. She keeps a close eye on Nash and Rin (the more destructive members of Fairy Tail). She is closest to Asuka Connell, Reiki Fernandes, and Gale Redfox. She falls for Reiki and that becomes glaringly obvious. Nova and Reiki dated for a while before the relationship ended. She becomes vulnerable with Gale, who comforts and confesses his feelings for her, and reveals her frailty when it comes to the matters of her heart. The pair go out on more missions together and Nova realizes her true feelings for Gale. She vents her frustrations through witty sarcasm. She likes horoscopes and horse riding. Her hobbies include bartending and biking. Her guild mark is located on her right thigh. She uses Omnicounter Magic. She is eighteen years old. She is a Capricorn.

Akatsuki Eucliffe. He is Sabertooth’s log keeper and, possibly, has no magic power. His guild mark is located on his left shoulder. He is very intelligent. He likes bowties and ties. His hobbies include reading, writing, and photography. He believes Sylvia is a pretty girl, and he is shy and secretive about his feelings for her. He is eleven years old. He is a Virgo.

A while ago, Hiro Mashima announced a contest for indie game developers to create Fairy Tail game pitch. The winner of his choosing would receive 10 MILLION YEN to develop the game.

Well… Hiro Mashima ended up picking 3 winners and gave each team 10 Mil. Yen to develop their games. (Plus Kondasha’s Creator Labs adding money to the prize pool as well!)

Dive In ☆ Merman! Gojo x Scrientist! Reader | Kinktober Day 14

Summary: You were brought in to study a merman whom you heard was quite aggressive; however, he’s always been kind to you. You were able to get close. Maybe a bit too close.

When you got a call from the federal government you didn’t know what to expect. You were honestly a bit worried that you had done something you weren’t supposed to and were going to be silenced. The last thing you expected to see however was a mermaid, or merman in this case.

You were a  NOAA scientist and had seen so many strange sea creatures, so the possibility of mermaids being out there wasn't out of the realm of possibility. However, you didn’t think that they would exist like this. The closest thing humanity has had to mermaids is manatees and dugongs. When thinking critically this is what most people assumed mermaids would look similarly to. That they would have rough skin and blubber and coarse hair or fur. However, this merman swimming before you looked like something right out of a fairy tale.

Based on the way it floated around his head, his hair looked to be the same texture as human hair. His whole upper half looked to be very human aside from the gills you could see on the sides of his neck, the fins on his arms, and the fin-like ears he had. 

“Ah Dr.L/N, Pleased to meet you,” An older man came up to you and extended his hand. He was in a fine pair of slacks and a pristine button-down with a black tie and white lab coat overtop. 

You took his hand and gave it a firm shake. He introduced himself as the lead researcher for this top-secret project and gave you the rundown. A fisherman from a small town in Kauai, Hawaii called in about a wild animal of some sort stealing fish. Eventually, another fisherman got a strange “Fishman” caught in his nets and called the Coast Guard, and from there, it became a bit more about coverup from the general public. The fisherman was compensated handsomely to keep hush and this merman was carted off to this government facility.

They began running tests and researching the merman however he attacked one of the researchers and they ended up losing an eye. So they had to pivot and decided to bring in someone with expertise in predatory marine life, that being you.

You looked back at the white-haired merman in the tank, he didn’t look aggressive, but you’d have to be an idiot to think that he wasn’t actually dangerous.

“I’ll let you take over as lead researcher, come on and I’ll introduce you to the team.” You followed after him and met the other researchers. It was a small group, most likely for the sake of confidentiality. They were kind but you didn’t want to waste any time chatting when you were eager to learn more about the merman.

The tank of the merman was that of a large shark, it was important to keep a new species as comfortable as possible to avoid any personal injuries. At the bottom it was made of the usually thick tempered glass of any high-grade aquarium, Is almost twenty feet deep of water, wide enough for the merman to swim freely without bumping into the walls, and filled to the brim with clean salt water filtering into the tank. 

A cage was newly added on top of the tank after the first incident to ensure the workers' safety. So the only way to get up close and personal was up the flight of stairs and through the locked door to stand on the built-in ledge over the water/tank opening. 

You walked back over to the tank where the merman swam around lethargically. You ripped off a paper from a nearby notepad and took the pen as you began writing basic facts about his appearance.

Long white hair, pale skin, silvery-blue scales covering the tail, and a few stray clusters of scales in the torso here and there, slightly forked caudal fin, fins are a translucent dark blue. About 12 ft long. You looked back up and were met with the merman in question staring back at you. His eyes were such a mesmerizing shade of blue, like the sky, or shining jewels. 

You wondered if it was an evolutionary trait to aid hunting. His webbed hands were pressed up against the glass with his sharp nails on display. 

Yeah, definitely dangerous. You thought, thinking back to the researcher who lost an eye.

One of the researchers called for you and when you turned back round the merman had swam to the back of the tank. You were looking forward to officially starting work.

The first few days you spent observing the merman’s behaviors. It seemed like he could tell what fish had been the most recently caught because that’s what he prefers. 

You put in an order request for aquatic plants as you wanted to see if he was omnivorous however they hadn’t come in yet. Based on his behavior you would say that he’s just as curious about you as you are to him. He had never displayed aggressive behavior when you were around and he wasn’t exactly eating from your hand but you could hand the fish to him at feeding times instead of tossing it into the tank like the other researchers.

You were sitting by the tank, reviewing your notes and drawing diagrams of his outward physiology when you heard someone call your name.

“Hello?” You called out, looking up from your work, however no one was there.

“Y/N…” They called out again. You looked towards the tank and saw the merman peering over the edge, his hands were gripping the metal bars and he was looking at you curiously.

“Y/N,” He repeated…

“You can talk?!” The merman cocked his head before diving back into the tank. You raced to the top and peered over the edge. He swam back to the top and looked at you. 

“Y/N.” He can really talk.

“Yes, that’s my name, Y/N.” You said, gesturing to yourself.”Do you have a name?”

“Y/N,” he repeated once again. You sighed. Maybe he can only make parrot noises. It was impressive nonetheless.

“I am Y/N, you are…?”

“Sa..to..ru,” He said. “Satoru,” He said. His bright eyes stare back at you.

“Okay then, nice to meet you Satoru,” You smiled.

Satoru picked up speaking fairly quickly, he wasn't fluent and often flubbed his sentences but he had a good grasp of language. With that addition, it became much easier to observe his personality and mannerisms. 

He had no concept of money but boy did he have expensive taste. Almost immediately after learning how to speak, he began voicing complaints and making requests. Apparently, the cod and red snapper he’s being fed aren’t good enough, and after much back and forth on what exactly he was talking about he requested bluefin tuna, Alaskan salmon, and swordfish. 

He was very playful, at least with you. He Loved to call your name… and to tell the other researchers to go away. Those were his favorite things to say.

You walked up the stairs with your lunch and lunch for Satoru, which was halibut today. 

“Hello, Y/N,” Satoru said, quickly swimming up to the surface and flashing you a sharp-tooth smile.

“Hello Satoru,” You tossed him the fish and he began eating eagerly. You applied sanitizer then wiped your hands with a wet wipe before opening your lunch to begin eating. 

“What’s that?” Satoru asked, looking back at you, he was somehow already done eating.

“This is nigiri sushi, it’s thinly sliced raw fish over rice. Wanna try some?” 

“Really?” He said, with wide eyes. You nodded, taking a piece of salmon nigiri and offering it to him. Instead of taking it, he ate it straight out of your hand in one bite. His cold lips tickled and he licked the stray grains of rice from your hand.

“So… what do you think?”

He was silent for a moment before smiling back at you. It made your heart flutter a bit but you pushed the feeling back.

“I Like it,”

“Here have some more,” you said, offering straight from the box this time.

When you went home and went to sleep that night you had a dream about Satoru, He was human. His white hair was short and fluffy, and he still had piercing blue eyes. You were lying on the beach together on the sand, and for some reason, he was kissing all over your legs, his plump lips softly made their way up your legs, and right as his face was inches away from your groin you woke up.

You woke up covered in sweat, your pajamas sticking to your skin as you stared up in the dark abyss. Your breath heaved… and it took a while before you could go back to sleep.

After that day, Satoru became even more attached to you and complained when you weren’t by his side. 

A while later the head researcher stopped by to see how things were going.

“So I hear you’ve gotten pretty close with the merman, even got him to talk,”

“Satoru, yes. He’s very interesting, he has two pairs of lungs one for the air and the other for the dissolved oxygen in the water and..” You proceeded to ramble on about what you’ve learned and his personality. “While he is a predator I haven’t been able to observe any real aggressive behavior, he’s always so sweet and curious when I’m around- oh I’m sorry I’m rambling,”

The head researcher laughed and waved his hand,” You’re all good, almost sounds like love to me.”

Your face grew hot and you laughed off what he said.”What can I say, I really love my work,”

“That’s amazing, you’ve been doing wonderful work here.” He said looking at all the data you’ve collected.

“I’m sensing a but…” You said, wringing your hands together nervously.

“I’ll get right to the point then, you don’t have any data on how or if they reproduce,”

Oh… right. You were certainly curious about it since you learned he could talk, you had been putting it off, it felt less like research and more like an invasion of his privacy.

“I’ll get on it, sir,” You nodded.

You headed over to the tank with papers to talk with Satoru. As usual, when you walked up, Satoru swam right over with his usual smile.

“Hello Y/N,”

“Hello Satoru,” You said with a sigh.”So I had a few questions, but they’re a bit more personal.” You blushed thinking about it, you’d start off with the normal stuff first.

“Okay,”

“So are there others out there like you? Before you came here were you in a group?”

“A few. But I was not with a pod before being here.” He answered.

“Why weren’t you with your pod?”

“I was looking. Looking for a mate.” He said, his eyes meeting yours.

“Oh, is that what you all do? Split off to find a mate?” You asked.

“No, just me. A mate is an equal, in the pod I am the best. No equal, no mate. So I went off, to find another strong as me.”

“How long have you been looking for a mate?” Pausing from what you were writing.

He paused for a moment before answering.”Twenty-Eight moon cycles,”

That was about two years! Must get lonely, all by himself, separated from his pod, you thought. Maybe you could help him escape, you could convince them that it’s better to observe the group rather than one mercreature on its own (I mean you weren’t lying.)

“So if you could, I guess you would go home huh?” you asked, already knowing the answer.

“Only if you went.” You were surprised by that answer.

“Why me?”

“It’s bad to leave mates behind,” he answered. At first, you thought he was joking but you remembered you hadn’t explained the concept yet, he was completely serious.

“Satoru, what makes you think we’re mates?” You asked, your face growing a bit hot.

“You share your nigiri with me; only mates share food, or parents and pups.”

Oh…

OH…

No wonder he was so surprised when you offered him the Nigiri, and why he’s been so clingy.

“I didn’t know, I’m sorry,”

“You don’t want to be my mate then?” He asked with a sad expression which made you feel like you were shot through the heart.

“It’s not exactly that, I’m not a mermaid, I can’t breathe underwater,”

“Mates can be human, you’ll change after the mate bond,”

“I’ll grow a tail?” you asked bewildered.

“No, gills, scales, fins, then tail”

“I’m not nearly as physically strong as you either,” You replied.

“No, but you know many things, knowing many things like fish, many things that will be good for the pod.”

While you were intrigued by the process it just seemed like too much. At least that’s what you tried to tell yourself.

“It’s me then, you don’t like me.”

“No, no, no I do like you, I love you, Satoru, but ah-” You stopped when you caught what you said.

“...Love? What’s what?”

“It’s when others feel strongly about each other, when they really really like eachother or something. Like families or friends or a pet… or a mate…” You said swallowing nervously.

“So you love me?” He asked, his body basically pressed up against the edge of the platform.

“...yes,”

“Do you love me like family?”

“... No,” you said, shaking your head.

“Like a pet?”

“No,”

“Then do you love me like a mate?” You looked back at him and as you looked into his eyes you knew the answer.

“Yes, Satoru, I love you, I’ll be your mate.” As you said those words he had the biggest grin on his face and dived back into the water, swiftly swimming in circles and flipping out of the water. You laughed, you had never seen him this happy before.

He swam back over to where you sat and leaned over your lap, water dripping onto your legs.

“How does mating work anyways?”

“It’s easier to show than to tell, but not here, in shallow water,” He explained.

“Okay, then I guess I definitely have to break you out of here then, It wouldn’t be right to leave my mate locked up in some secret government facility.”

You waited until dark when everyone had gone aside from security here and there before you began your heist. You got one of the big carts they wheeled around all the fish they fed Satoru in and filled it with water. Then there was the painstaking process of getting him out of the tank and down the stairs. 👻 Bansheeon with the Soundproof ability can use Perish Song and not get affected (this got patched out but I patch it back in 😈). Eevee gains this form by fainting while holding a Reaper Cloth - spooooky!

🪨 Eevee gains the ability to learn Ancient Power via TM, allowing it to evolve into this ancient form! With its powerful tail, Bludgeeon punches into the ground to pull up stones it uses as weapons - hammers, shields, and even projectiles!

🐉 Eevee becomes Drakeon after leveling up while holding the Dragon Scale. It is the largest eeveelution, full of boundless energy and a magpie-like desire to collect shiny things. Drakeon's purr soothes dragon-types, making it great for aspiring dragon trainers.

🐇 Eevee becomes Dusteon after leveling up while holding Stardust. Capable of burrowing rapidly and kicking up dust to blind opponents, Dusteon is a much trickier opponent than one might expect from its cute looks.

✊ Eevee transforms into Guardeeon after learning Detect or Double Kick via egg move/TM alongside high friendship. It controls its scarf-like appendages to attack from afar and manipulate objects, similar to Sylveon. Rather than fairy magic, it can sense and manipulate aura like Lucario.

🦋 Eevee becomes Lanteon after leveling up while holding a Bug Gem. Lanteon is part luna moth, part firefly. It can detach and control the glowing lights on its mane to lure prey or confuse a foe! Lanteon is even smaller than Eevee.

🧬 Mutateon was created when Eevee was exposed to a chemical called Mutagen E - formed from the DNA of Eevee, Umbreon, Espeon, Flareon, Drakeon, Lanteon, and Human. Ruthlessly intelligent hunters, Mutateon can alter its venom on the fly to be more effective against its foe, and some are known to mutate themselves into new types for a better matchup (Protean would lose its nerf for this generation 😈).

🤖 Titaneon was created in response to a rampaging giant Mutateon. In order to resist venom, recovered alien technology was used to outfit Eevee with cybernetic armor. After growing to giant size and defeating it in battle, Titaneon gained Mutateon's respect and the two became friends. Titaneon is inspired by Ultraseven, whose capsule monsters inspired Pokemon.

When do u think Natsu actually realized that he fell for Lucy and i know he treats her differently but can u give moments where it's initiated from his side?

This is going to be a long post so buckle up!

Okay, first of all: the Phantom Lord arc. Though I don't think he fell in love with her at that point of time, I think it was the events that seriously solidified his partialness to her. I'd go into detail but I can already feel a long post incoming, so I'll keep it short: Lucy telling Natsu that she loves being a Fairy Tail wizard, while crying over the fact that she didn't want to leave ↓

After just trusting her life in Natsu, jumping from an insanely high tower, with a mere belief that maybe she had heard him in the distance – I think it struck a chord with Natsu. Like, it would be normal to cry after a fall like that, but Lucy wasn't concerned about that aspect. Her head and heart was all about the guild, how she didn't want to go, and that resonates with Natsu. Natsu's entire life at that point is 1) Finding Igneel, and 2) being with/protecting the guild.

Then I'd say it's a pretty gradual build in their relationship. They go on a lot of missions, hang out together, and just in general spend a lot of time connecting. There's some Natsu-saves-Lucy, some Lucy-saves-Natsu, some hand holding (tenrou arc I won't forget about that, thank you anime team for adding that scene), and then comes the next pivotal moment. GMG arc and the dragon festival that follows.

By then I'd say Natsu and Lucy are very much in this friends-with-emotional-benefit zone: much more than friends, absolutely not yet lovers. But with Lucy's near-death experiences in her battles, Natsu has to refrain himself from getting involved each time Lucy gets beaten up - he becomes helpless, and the worry that's sowed inside of him gets watered each time Lucy still puts his faith in him, still trusts him to come out a winner. That entire section when Lucy's in the infirmary and she tells Natsu that her entire being trusts that Natsu can do anything, I think that's when Natsu falls in love.

Now wait!! He still doesn't quite understand that he loves her. But he understands that his feelings for Lucy are more tender than any other feelings he's ever had. He treasures her in a new, heavier way. She's become precious to him.

Now the Dragon Festival was LETHAL in a trillion ways, but especially for nalu fans. The whole Future Lucy plot and the forehead touches and the Future Natsu and Future Lucy fighting in a wasteland moments and the Natsu skipping the final GMG match to save Lucy. And of course. Future Lucy dying. It's not the first time we see Natsu get so heavily affected - it happened in the tower of heaven, when Erza was ready to give her life up. But it is the first time we see Natsu see a friend die. Like, a team mate, someone who he's responsible for bringing to the guild. And after the whole GMG conundrum? Had a single more bad thing happened Lucy during the dragon festival, he’d probably turn into a demon right there and then. Dare I even say: their relationship was the strongest at this point in time.

After the GMG and the Dragon Festival, we get the Sun Village arc (I don’t like the Eclipse celestial spirit arc so I’m not counting it, same with Key of the Starry Sky arc — technically some nalu moments but not exactly building imo) and then another big one: Tartaros. Ooooh brother, THE best arc of all times, wish Mashima knew how to replicate it. But alas, he doesn’t.

The Tartaros arc isn’t exactly a pivotal moment where Natsu “falls in love” but rather an important aspect to understand his later actions. Like this guy goes through some pretty grusome stuff, learns a lot of complicated, bad things about himself, and finishes off the arc with losing Igneel — his father that he's spent ages searching for. Natsu's entire life is turned upside down, so he decides that he has to become stronger: cue, he heads off for a year to train.

His time away isn't very elaborated on — not from Natsu's viewpoint or Lucy's. But I think it's understood that he chose not to bring along Lucy because she could be put into danger too much for him to be able to concentrate on building his strength: he knew his training would be dangerous. During this time we also have the Gildarts-scene in chapter (idk i can't be bothered to look it up but y'all know the one ↓) which is kinda debated on — who was Natsu talking about here?

I'm still not certain on if it was a heart to heart on the Igneel-matter, or if it was about his guilt of leaving Lucy behind, like many theorise. I'm not even certain that it's limited to one of them — he could be talking about both. But at the very least, this entire year was one of those "distance makes the heart grow fonder" moments for him. He wanted to get back to his normal life with Lucy so bad. After all, it wasn't like him showing up at the GMG was in order to meet Lucy — had he wanted more training after that, he'd head off again, but I don't think he could physically bring himself to do it, even if it hadn't turned out that the guild had disbanded. Though that's just me speculating a bit.

And about the guild disbandment: oh jolly, he was not happy. He had finally taken the step to grow stronger to protect everyone in his beloved guild, and here Makarov went and disbanded it? Leaving Lucy completely alone? Lucy, who once jumped from a hella high tower because she was just so devoted to stay in the Fairy Tail guild? Yeah, I think that broke him a little. At this point there was just so much guilt involved around his whole relationship with Lucy, because now he had put her through so much pain only because he brought her to Fairy Tail that day in Hargeon.

The next arcs I'd say Natsu's trying to spend his time redeeming himself for the countless things he's done bad (getting the guild back together, just generally staying by Lucy's side as much as possible). And naturally he keeps getting hit by challenge after challenge (it's not easy to be a book written by his immortal brother, yk?). And it's even harder to watch Lucy die again, this time for real (he thinks bc he's stupid and also has a tumour that's nothing less than a ticking bomb) (give this guy a break lol).

Anyways: Lucy's death nr2. Natsu can't live a life without her. Now I know — he still doesn't quite understand that it's romantic love, but I think he does understand that it's pure love. No matter if kissing and reproducing was involved, all he knew was that a life without Lucy is completely unimaginable, so blinded by rage he becomes and decides to decapitate everyone in his way (sorry about that Gray).

The last couple of moments I'll go out of my way to mention as signs of love is 1. when he's won over Acnologia and falls towards Lucy, crazy relieved, saying "I'm home", 2. Gajeel pointing out Natsu's crush on Anna, Natsu basically saying "oh that's why I like Lucy so much" (I embellished it lol) and 3. "We're still gonna be together from here on out, right?" yeah that man won't ever leave her. Ever. It's just not an option.

Now since I've only talked about specific moments, here's what I have to say about his relationship with her in general:

Throughout the main plot line, we also see a shift in Natsu's behaviour. Someone here on Tumblr pointed out that Natsu always finds a way to shield Lucy if something unexpected happens, after not being able to shield her from Future Rogue. There's also the small detail of the order he calls out to people - it goes from being pretty random, to Lucy almost alwyas being on the top of the list: likely because she's always on the top of his head. And in general I'd say that Natsu initiates (i'm adding this entire paragraph bc i realised that you asked about when Natsu initiated stuff, more than when he fell in love lol) almost all of their interractions. It's Natsu who wants Lucy to join Fairy Tail, to form a team, he's the one who enters her apartment constantly, he's always searching her out - his interest in her is at a constant high so we never feel like we get "moments" that he's paying her extra attention. He has one setting, and it's "Lucy" cranked to the max. Lol.

I could also add some HYQ moments to the mix here, but they've been few and far inbetween, and also mostly played off as jokes, so I can't really consider them as moments when Natsu initiates his love. I guess his jealousy can be considered a sign? And when (spoilers from the manga) he runs around to protect her/save her from creepy-freaky-jail (the only one who made it freaky was him, with those wild fantasies lol). Maybe I need to jog my memory a bit, but so far there hasn't been any non-pervy nalu moments initiated by Natsu in the HYQ, aside from jealousy-chap. Sadly.
